I have been trying to use a dual sim adaptor with Athena but would not boot with it on. Anybody had any success? It will be great for me to be able to use both 3 and standard without removing the sim. it is a pain to remove it on Athena as this is under battery and sometimes needs a flat screwdriver to remove it...

Do you mean dual SIM or dual SD?
Dual sim of course not dual SD
Well, i've got an old DualSIM adaptor (anlog) which worked fine on my Himalaya.
My Athena boots without problems when i use this adaptor, but it takes me 3 or 4 restarts of the phone to get the DualSIM adaptor changin the SIM.
But i guess i have some issues with my SIMCards, they really look screwed up, makes me wonder why they work anyway
Maybe a newer Radio could have an impact on this Issue too.
Right now i use Radio 1.50 and AP Dual PK3.
If your SIMCards are screwed up the Athena won't boot, also my SIMAdaptor needs both SIMCards entered. With only one SIMCard in it, the Athena won't boot.
BTW: SIMDisplay (can be found on sourceforge.net) is the perfect Todayscreen Plugin for Displaying the active SIM.
I have one running but ...
finally I obtained a Simore dual sim working. But my problem is due I have one line for voice and other one for data, if should be possible to have some mechanism that in base to which sim is activated obtaining working the data connection or not. Do you know if it is possible?
Hi Beginner. Could you please post the model info of the Simore dual SIM you found worked with Athena? I'm currently looking for one. Thanks.

The Connection Setup Wizard will detect the network that you've just switched to and offer to set your data connection to match it. It'll do that every time the network changes.
If you're looking to buy a SIMore dual SIM adapter for the Athena, DON'T. The SIMore dual SIM won't let you connect to WCDMA network so you won't be able to use HSDPA or 3G!!!! I bought one from them and in the process of getting an RMA to return this piece of junk back to them now. Their online ad is fraudulent when they say it's 3G compatible. It is not. It only let you connect to GSM which only offers up to EDGE.
Is there any dual SIM adapter that will let you connect at 3G speeds out there?
PS: If you're only using EDGE at the moment and don't think you will ever never for the rest of your life upgrading to HSDPA, then by all means, flush your money down the toilet and buy this expensive piece of junk.
Thanks for the warning. Thought it was useful to have.
no dual sim
shame there is none yet. it will be great to have a truely dual phone. Networks will hate it
I think it could be posible but not easy to create a soft sim somehow. instead of having to change my three.co.uk hdspa compat sim between Athena (why the hack they do not do the sim reader as a slot accessible without removing battery) and my mac laptop is a nightmare. I tried to use Wifirouter, but it crashes athena quite often.

Under the factory ROM I never had it crash, even with hours of use at one time. I haven't used it under AP4 yet. Maybe you have a conflict with another program?
not installed anything apart tomtom 6 legal

Iam not sure what are you explaining.
are you using a dual sim system?
does it works? which is it?
thanks.
i tried using few none worked. I find very difficult in swaping sims without the add o a flat screwdriver, also removing battery is not fun.
I am wondering if it will be possible in developing a virtual sim card that will copy the info from our sim card allowing the phone to work with it?
Hi all, newbie to android. Got a Galaxy SII and everything worked ok including WIFI, found the wifi instantly and connected to it instantly...until...i insert the sim card.
My modem is Billion 7800N, works great with my computer and the new phone before i insert the sim card.
[Update:] Changed the modem to my old Netgear DG834G. Same thing.
after i insert the sim card, 3G works but my network just became "Not in range". i can still see other networks from my neighbours.
restart, same.
shut down and take the sim card out, start, still Not in range.
Reset and wipe everything, without sim card, it found the network and connected and worked great again.
Insert the sim card again and my network not in range again........
Anyone came across this? my guess would be it's the modem but without the sim card everything is fine. but with the sim card i can only see other people's network but not mine...
Any idea?
Thanks!
No, I can access WiFi very well with SIM card inserted, same router as yours. And I don't think a SIM card has anything to do with WiFi.

Thanks ithehappy, glad to know someone using the same modem with no issue. Do you mind letting me know your wireless settings for the modem please?
thanks heaps
update:
change the wireless password setting to WEP2 AES and all good now...
thanks
Glad to hear that, though mine works without security.
Regards.
I bought a new lumia 800 819 version but i have no luck getting the gprs to work i am moving from a omnia 7 which i never had any problem connecting or even the hd7 i used before that. I am wondering if its the phone or the sim card. I am using the sim from the omnia 7 (which i cut to micro sim) the thing is my carrier dont carry the micro sim. The other thing i notice is that i am only getting g no edge or 3g i try both manual settings and network setup but no luck so i am stuck with wifi. Just checking if anyone else had that problem or if any fix is available...12072 firmware
The micro sim issue shouldn't matter as long as your sim supports 3G and you have cut it down correctly, It is very easy to cut into the gold etc, Is the phone fully supported by your Network ie: Frequencies? Is the Lumia 819 compatible? I noticed you have already tried manual config of APN, Does your sim have any apps which can be found in settings/Sim applications? Sometimes your sim card has a "get settings" app, Try maybe a hard reset or contacting your provider if all else fails, Hope you get it sorted
my friend bought me CAT B15 from US,(i live in Indonesia).when i use my cat B15 i realize that the phone cannot connect to 3G, because when i use the same SIM card to another android it can connect to 3G. and the dual SIM card cannot work too.i checked in setting menu, ther is no option for dual SIM card and for 3G.the contact support ask me to send it back to the distributor, but i think it's not make sense. it's so far away from indonesia.anybody can help me?
Same problem here. When mobile data is switched on, no matter which card is in which space, phone tells me I have inserted SIM card in wrong slot and the connection speed will be limited.
Hello everyone
I would be appreciated if anyone could help me.
Recently I bought an HTC Rezound. I live in Iran so I inserted a local carrier SIM card. I noticed that the phone does not connect to the wireless network when the SIM card is inserted. The phone does not connect to the home network. It finds in range network, but it shows an error message reading that the network is not in range. Surprisingly the phone is able to connect to the same wireless network when no SIM card is inserted into the phone.
May I be able to solve this problem!?
