Support for Gadmei T883 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i've bought this tablet: Gadmei T883.
it's an innovative product infact it's the only tablet with a support of real 3D.
As all the new product the software has a lot of bugs and i would try to support the programmers to fix it.
Could you help me
Thanks

Hi, I've been using the DIY firmware from 27.04. is stable, does not, unfortunately, youtube. It is a DIY from 17.05. which give these errors are fixed. I think unfortunately no download link.

new Firmware
Hi, new Firmware from 20120522 on bbs.gadmei.com/thread-3677-1-1.html.
Happy testing -

New DIY Firmware 06.06.12
It is a new Firmware released.
Gadmei_ICS_20120606_HK_Edition from sendspace from 06.06.12
Search on Facebook "Gadmei T820 & T863"
I hope youtube is running -

youtube running
Hi, i have tested the brandnew release, seems ok.
Youtube is running.
Root is possible with DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.
Sorry I may not yet have left post links.
Slowly, the tablet is useful.

Youtube 3d
Does the 3d aspect of YouTube work on the tablet. This is what I have been hoping for....also has anyone got a 3d MKV player as I lost the BiVideo when updating the firmware so can't watch 3d vids at the mo.

Good question, was disappointed to find that YouTube 3D didn't ship with my E8 3D and the YT from the store doesn't switch to 3D.

Android TV Boxes/Media Players

Hello,
In this thread, i want know something about all those "Chinese'' (or is there any original) Android TV Boxes and media players.
I saw on eBay some stuff. Looks well, too.
I want to buy one, becouse i'm big android fan, and i can't live without Android.
So, does anyone know some information which is better to use?
Just wait on the next version of Google TV.

I'm looking to Sony Google TV, it looks awesome, but price isn't very good, too. But is that good? Also, Logitech Google TV looks awesome, but which one? Or, maybe any chinese Google TV?
I have the Logictech Revue, its pretty cool. They say new boxes will be available this summer or fall.

I had both the Logitech Revue and a Geniatech ATV1000 (Android TV) and ended up selling the Revue because I liked the ATV 1000 better.
However the ATV 1000 does require a little bit of work to make it good but after updating to a newer firmware the box is awesome.
I mainly use it for streaming videos online and it supports a lot more video formats than the Revue did. I also had a lot of problems with Netflix on the Revue. I was constantly having to reset the box to make Netflix work again.

Thank you for information. Maybe i just have to buy apple TV? Don't know why i want it, but all reviews about Logitech Revue is bad. Or maybe any of those all Chinese Android TV's?

Hi, with the latest Ice Cream Sandwich update, did you manage to get YouTube working on the ATV1000? If so, how did you do it?
Thank you.

I actually prefer using it with Gingerbread (2.3.4) (firmware 20111102) I have the best luck with it and it is really stable.
Youtube works alright but sometimes when searching videos it times out and I have to hit the retry button. However my A500 and Nexus tablets occasionally have the same problem.
I mostly use the box for streaming online movies from Putlocker or Sockshare for this it works really well.
I hope this helps. Good luck

I would see a exact revision of SGP5, with opened case, with whole components like procesor, wifi module, D/A converters and their model serial

[Q] New YouTube

Hi,
last week the updated version of YouTube came to the Play. I downloaded it for my Nexus S and my Prime. Now my phone has the new version and the same update on Prime has still the previous version. Do you have the same issue? Anyone with the new YouTube version on Prime?
I've noticed the same on my SGS2 and Prime (both on 4.0.8E). It looks like they didn't update the tablet interface yet. I hope they plan to, I prefer the new look.

Flyer ICS / Jellybean with FF Camera

Hi,
XBMC is coming out for Android and it looks like it's requiring ICS or higher for proper support. This is driving me to upgrade my Flyer from HC. At the same time, I want to retain front facing camera support as I use my Flyer for Skype & SIP video calling.
The Dexter Jellybean ROM looks really good but it appears that there is no camera support (that's not knocking the work he's done - I appreciate there is a technical issue here)?
Does anyone know if Camera support is coming for this ROM? If not - can anyone recommend an ICS ROM.
Thanks

You're right - and it works on my HC Flyer as well. I've heard that development is going to be focussed on ICS and above only though - so I guess there 'may' be issues as the application develops. I currently have problems with my HD Homerun stream dropping out and was wondering if a newer Android build was a better foundation stone.
I'm starting to see one or two other apps that are not supported on HC as well. It would just be cool if I could upgrade without losing the front facing camera but I appreciate it's not everyones priority.
Xbmc for android does not support 1080 hd as it does not have hw acceleration enabled. There are sides builds out there that use external players like mx that can provide hw acceleration

Prime video and android TV box

Hi all,
I've tried to search in this forum and around internet getting different information
I'm android mobile user and my smart tv doesn't have prime video app, I'm looking to find a way to enjoy prime video on my TV
I'm oriented to buy a cheap android box cbut I still didn't catch if prime video is supported or not example x96 mini or mxq and similar (less than 20 euro as target)
a comment I've found on xda:
"Amazon Prime ATV will not work on any Android TV device except Nvidia Shield TV and maybe a few Android TV like Sony. Most, not all, subscription services apps like Amazon Prime and Netflix require Widevine L1. The KII Pro only has Widevine L3"
other comments from the web: "prime video will run but only in 480P"
Have you any experience?
Thanks!

There is a guide on adding Widevine L3 for netflix, it should be somewhat similiar.
Do you think it's only a matter of wideline certification?
Is there any suggestion which product is ready or can be hacked for the purpose?
