lol.. thanks!! i keep forgeting that its a diff phone.. its not going to be exactly the same.. i keep thinking something wrong with it...
Don't feel too bad, coming from an OG Evo,I noticed it right away also.
I like that it doesn't come on. I can just take my phone off the charger at night and not having to worry about if my screen is going to turn off or not
Yup this is normal behavior, and a welcome change I say

I agree. I hated the fact that my OG EVO used to turn on every time I unplugged it.

My soft button lights are stuck on. I'm not *****ing about screen bleed, I know all about that.
All of a sudden the soft button lights stay on no matter what I do. Stays on when screen goes off. Screen filter no help, also did mod to kill lights but no help either.
I've factory reset, reflashed, and cursed really nasty to it but did not work.
I think its hardware related because when I power down and plug it in to charge the lights come on. Strange. Thoughts?

Battery pull. Did not work. In fact I pull the battery and plug it in to charge with power off. Lights come on.

Rezound led blinking red and won't turn on. Battery just really low or what? Only does to one battery other one is fine
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
yeah probably too low. Leave it plugged in to the wall and turned off with that battery for like 15-20 minutes and see if it'll work after a bit of charging.

Ok I left on for about 15 mins and blink got longer if that means anything. I'll plug in for hour when I get home

When my rezound was blinking red it was due to overheating...was running an early ics leak at the time...may want to pull the battery out and let it cool if it feels hot
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Just put battery in and was cool. I've had that happen when running a Rom never when phone was off

I had this issue a few weeks ago and I everything I tried in recovery didn't help so I had to re-install the ics ruu.

So I have a evo lte that has been unlocked. Flashed the custom viper rom... After 2 weeks, the phone started acting weird today. I booted into recovery to wipe dalvik and cache. Then the phone started going crazy. Rebooted a few times and now it's a brick. Can't turn on or charge. Tried hard reset and combination of buttons to boot into bootloader. Nothing works. Any idea?

Ahh okay, then my idea of just smashing it and getting a new one probably wouldn't help much.
Hopefully someone can come up with something useful. I hope it gets worked out for you.

hmm...
read somewhere that putting the phone in the freezer would work.
i left the phone in the freezer for 5 mins and it turned on... But after 1-2 mins it should shut off again and not allow me to boot. any help?
how long have you left it on the charger? are you using the 1A HTC charger or a different one? when mine has shut off due to low battery and i've tried to charge it at someone else's house using an old micro-USB charger it would take HOURS before it would even show the light and allow it to be turned on. the light would occasionally blink but that was it. turns out the charger was a 180mA charger... you said you're overseas, maybe it's a power issue.
myself and a few other members have had this issue! i wasnt rooted but i had the issue of it not turning on or charging. i took it to the sprint store and they gave me a band new evo. =p

Has nothing to do with the charger. I always charge with the oem charger.

Try letting the phone die completely..once dead plug into charger and see if it starts lighting up. If it does, attempt to boot into recovery. Best of luck!

Can't even turn on the phone. If I put it in the freezer for a few min, it would boot. Recovery says 75%charged. But it would shut off by itself after a minute

Dude, I have bee trying to flash back to stock and run the dam RUU. But my phone has been stuck in bootloader for a day and the RUU says needs 30% battery to run...But the phone will not charge because the screen is ON on Bootloader. I have the charge cable attached hoping to charge while the screen is ON. If I turn the phone OFF...and plug the cable..it automatically turns the phone ON in bootloader again !!!
Help
Try plugging it into a wall outlet to charge it. Also from bootloader cant you select power off ?? Can't remember ATM.

it sounds like your volume button may be stuck
you should try plugging in before you turn the phone off. it should start charging after you turn it off. its the same way on the iphone and countless other phones

Hi,
My evo 3d went through a full discharge when I wasn't using it - i figured I could just charge it and turn it back on - apparently not! It was running 17.1 absolutely fine, but now it won't even turn on! When i charge it the led flashes a strong red a few times then shuts off..
Try leaving it on charger for few hours. I had the same problem when I flashed my first ROM on EVO and just leaving it on charger did the trick

I guess your battery died then. I'm using the same ROM and I have ono problems whatsoever. You could try someone's battery if you know someone who has an EVO to be sure it's a battery problem
