[Q] Voice commands not using bluetooth mic... - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Anyone else have this problem? I've tried 2 BT headsets (Moto H710 & Blueant Q2) and multiple apps (Vlingo and built in voice dialer). Have no problems when in call or using media with my headsets, but their mic isn't being used for input on commands. Vlingo is even properly playing the commands through the heaset, but still uses the phones mic. This worked fine on my OG Evo 4G. Any suggestions? Thanks!
*Edit* All stock, no custom ROMS or root

Your just pushing the call/talk button correct? I've used both my Moto Finiti and S305's and both respond to the voice commands through the Bluetooths Mic.
Maybe unpair and re-pair Bluetooth? Can't think of much except that there may be an issue with Bluetooth from the general forum. So maybe there's an issue with the software right now.
Edit: I've only tried using voice commands and google search for voice from the phones software, not an app. You may need to wait for the devs to update their apps to have it work with our new beasts.

I'm also having the same issue as original poster I've tried with normal google search, vlingo, and also skyvi with no luck inputting voice through headset and them only working when using through the phone. Any suggestions to try or solutions?

Bump... same issue, out of ideas

[Q] Re-directing all sound to Bluetooth

Anyone know if its technically possible to get the sound routed to standard bluetooth 'hands-free' device. I know I've successfully done this on all my past devices with help of 3rd party software. I see several iterations of software for android out right now, but none have worked for me on Atrix.
I know buying a AD2P headset would be the ideal software free workaround. But I've tried a lot of bluetooth hands-free out there, and the one I have now is just so comfortable, I just can't switch to A2DP until it absolutely dies.
I've seen a few people requesting this across other forums, wondering if the Atrix is even accessible programming wise to do this?
thanks
I don't understand your question. I have a bluetooth headset which I play music on, and which auto cuts music for calls, has a mic, you can dial by voice command, etc.
It's hands free like any other bluetooth headset other than the power button, volume buttons, etc.
What exactly are you asking?
I believe OP is requesting any App that can be used to Hear Music on a Mono Bluetooth Headset which do not support A2DP Profile.
Using regular Bluetooth without A2DP profile will allow us to Just make /Receive Calls, not for Music.
I also tried BT Mono, but it didn't worked for Atrix and eager to know any other way we can able to hear music thru regular Bluetooth Headset

SakDroid is correct. Not all bluetooth headsets support the AD2P profile, and some phones won't play music to them for a reason unknown to me. I've had 4 phones with this same bluetooth headset and only one of them natively would play music with it. All others I had to install app to redirect sound...such as the referred to BTmono. So I know it's possible on Android, just wondering if there is something preventing it on the Atrix, or just hasn't been developed yet.
I would gladly pay to get development started on this. Since I would have to pay money for one supporting A2DP, but you know how it is when you have that one that fits/works just perfectly. I've bought a few that do support the profile, but ended up returning them all, as they just weren't comfortable to wear very long.
Btmono worked for me on my samsung epic 4g on froyo....then sprint sent an ota update to their version of gingerbread 2.3.6. it is very phone specific with what your carrier puts out I think because my wife has an stock htc evo running 2.3.5, and my brother has samsung epic touch running 2.3.7 and both of those different phones work fine with it. So what did I do....I found a custom rom that was built off 2.2.1 froyo. I didn't read the full thread so I don't know what exactly what phone this is for. Only option is to get to know everything you can do with you phone, root it and try different roms. Young and old. Also...on the eipc forum we had a discussion about this....they all had the same issues with gb...even the custom roms. Would love for the developers to learn a work around, since is up their ally...but shortly after there was a good leak for ice cream sandwich which I tried and its pretty good...just a bit buggy for me. When all the kniks are work out will be moving onto that and bypassing any gb that is out for the epic. So my advise, again, is just try different stock roms first....just to find out which ones...if any will work. Then you will know what custom one to look for...if you into that sorta thing.

Google voice search doesn't work with headphones

My experience:
- Provided headphones plugged into (Vibrant)
- Opened up google voice search
- spoke a command (navigate to.., etc.)
- Does not pick up my voice
I've searched on the xda forums and found no answer to this problem with regards to the provided headphones. I did find a discussion on a different forum at AF (android forums). And I'm curious to know why the provided headphones won't play well with Google Voice Search, yet other members claim it works with 3rd party headphones. Is this the headphones limitation for only call/end call? If anyone can discuss further about this issue it's greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth Voice Dialing on SG2?

Hi all,
i picked up a skyrocket about 2 weeks ago (coming from iphone 3gs) and was really disappointed to find out that the skyrocket does not support bluetooth initiated voice dialing.
what i mean is that i have a plantronics voyager pro (awesome headset) where i long press the button on the headset and it then beeps to prompt me to say "call so-and-so" this way while driving i don't have to look down at the phone at all.
this does not work with the skyrocket. i chatted with samsung tech support and they confirmed this is not a feature they included on a 250 dollar flagship phone and have no plans in the future to include it.
does the sgs2 allow for headset initiated voice dialing? specifically with the voyager pro or more generally any headset that you have tried? thanks!
I have a Galaxy S2 and I use a Motorola Finity bluetooth headset and voice dial works fine.

You might get more play on this in the Skyrocket forums rather than the i777 forums. The i777 has a samsung version of vlingo installed from the factory that works quite well for headset button initiated voice dialling (talks back to over the headset). I'm surprised that skyrocket doesn't have this, but there are a couple other options.
First is Google voice actions - should be available in the market I believe
second (probably better) is vlingo in the market - free app does what you want...

Why would he get more play in the skyrocket forums when he is specifically asking about the i777?

Gah. you are correct, I misread the post as asking how to get the features he was looking for on skyrocket, rather than what i777 has.
My apologies to the OP, you are in the right place.

Sorry about the confusion guys- to clarify I meant that I currently have the skyrocket and am thinking about switching to the sgs2 if the battery life is better and it supports bluetooth headset initiated voice dialing.
Thanks for the replies so far! Anyone else used any other BT headset other than the moto others have already mentioned?
I currently use a Sony HBH-DS980 and don't have any issues with Bluetooth Voice Dialing.

I use the Jabra Cruzer2 handsfree speaker phone and it works well - I did jettison the Vlingo app as I found it annoying to use and always kept my screen on (older market version, may have fixed in recent updates). I use ChoiceDialer as all I need it is for voice calling - I have no need for the other features that vlingo brings to the table.

I have no problems initiating a voicedial from my bluetooth headset, so long as the phone isn't in standby (black screen). That makes it pretty useless though, because if I'm driving with my phone in my pocket, I can't pull it out and enter my password to make the voice dialing work.
Does your voice dial work, even when the phone is in standby with a black screen?
There was another thread on this issue. I have the same problem. If the screen is locked with say the pattern lock the bluetooth headset will not initiate by pressing the button on the bluetooth headset.
Hmmm, am I doing anything wrong or what?
Anytime I tap Voice Command or Voice Talk then give it a command, it shows Processing with a cycling circle then hung.
It happens with or w/o bluetooth.
If it's hanging, then that doesn't sound like something you've done wrong. It should never hang.

It doesn't do that on miui.
I use a Motorola s305 and voice dial works fine. I didn't install any extra programs. Just hit the button on my headset and it worked. IIRC stock was that way to, but its been so long since I've run stock ...

Bluetooth and S Voice Issues

I posted this in the Bugs thread too (sorry for the dupe here, but that thread is large). Does anyone have problems with S Voice recognizing voice commands when paired to a car's Bluetooth system? Mine refuses to recognize my voice commands when paired, but if not paired, S Voice works perfectly (well, as perfectly as it does anyway ). Just want to rule out that it is not my car's Bluetooth system.
BTW, I am on Verizon and have rooted (but not modified anything).
Found this thread on the same issue but an international version.

I'm having the same issue. i was able to get it to work once or twice, but not working for the most part. Gave up on it.
Suck.

Converting Media Audio to Phone Audio

Hi everyone,
I have an issue which I have seen in other forums and is driving me crazy. I recently installed a Dice Mediabridge in my car and when I am using it in Sirius mode with the phone connected to it via bluetooth the music will be interupted whenever there is an incoming phone call and won't resume until the call is ended. However, if I am in Sirius mode and using Google Navigation, no such interuption occurs. I would believe that this is because the Nav is considered Media Audio, which is not programed to interrupt the way that phone audio is. Is there a way to trick the phone into sending the Navigation voice audio through the phone channel instead of the media channel? I mean yes I could simply use a separate bluetooth headset in situations where I need to use the Nav to go somewhere, but it just seems to me that this integration should be easily possible but it is not. Thanks in advance !!

I definitely realize this thread is old/dead, but I hate threads that end with no resolution.
What if someone else is experiencing the same or similar problem?
Try AudioBT Plus from the Google Playstore.
The Dev TurboLED may also have a thread here on XDA.
This eloquently solved the problem for me.
Good Luck
