Hello everyone,
I just got my 4G LTE yesterday, I upgraded from an EVO 3D and I've noticed that some of my high end games don't work on the new phone. Originally I restored them from a TB, but I when as far as deleting everything, uninstalling and downloading them from the Play Store and re-downloading their supporting files. Still no luck.
The games I've tested so far NOT to work:
Dead Space
Mass Effect Infiltration
Both, when they are about to start they return to the home screen.
I wanted to know if anyone else has tested any other high end games and has had no luck or found the way to get them running to share some experience with us.
Thanks all.
Don't mean to troll or anything, but there is another thread that ttalks about this. Don't worry, give the game devs time to optimize for sense 4.0

I don't think it's an issue with sense 4.0.....I think it's more because of the new device and android 4.0.
Asphalt 6 didn't work either.... But it worked fine on my EVO 3d with Android 4.0.

I was expecting overheating issues lag and crappy controls but no its runing smooth 0 lag and kind to the battery too. 30 mins of playing = 10% battery
The phone does get warm but nothing even close to high temps or overheating 38.4C after 30 mins O.O
This fixes market I hope.
1. Download the stock T-mobile rom from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308078 (Version doesn't matter)
2. Open the zip file go into the system folder and copy build.prop
3. Place the file somewhere on your sd card.(remember where)
4. Clear data from Settings > Applications > All > Market
5. Download and install ES File Explorer from the market
6. Launch ES File Explorer. Enable both Root Explorer and Mount File System under Settings > Root Settings..
7. Navigate to /system. Here you will find the build.prop file. Take a backup of it by copy-pasting it to your SD card.
8. Replace it with the one from step 3 (the one in /system)
9. Reboot & try to find the game in the market.
10. Let me know if it worked.
I've been playing it quite a lot of on my Amaze as well.
Great so far, but I have noticed some slowdown in certain areas, especially when driving into multiple cars at a high speed (probably due to the physics)
Controls are nice too. Shooting is a little difficult, but it was like that 10 years ago. Great game, worth the five dollars

Did you have to change your build.prop to download it? It is showing as not compatible with the Amaze.
It won't even show up on the market for me
Does anyone know what can I do to get it? I really want that game so if I have to change something in the build.prop like it was mention then I could do that I just dont know what part to change.
there are couple versions of the game just make sure you type in grand theft auto 3 and you should find the right 1 that's the 1 I download
Im runing quicksense 1.5.1 maybe it has a masked build and i can see all of the versions dunno

Also try looking for rockstar games they are the publishers of the game

No luck.
I'm pretty sure the developer of the ROM you're using made some changes to the build.prop because I can't see any version on the market.
I'm rooted but running stock ROM
I have a friend using htc sensation and he can run the game without any problems .he is running stock rom and I'm guessing it should be released for h t c amaze pretty soon
the only other thing I can think of is this application called market enabler ive used it before but not on the amaze so I'm not sure if it works
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA App
Alright, I'll give that a shot
Well, neither recommendation worked so I had to do something I don't like to do and only do in times of suffering....I had to Google the apk lol.
I agree with most of you. The game is smooth but when you're driving and there's lots of cars around and/or raining it does get a little slow but overall It's a great game.
I'm sorry you couldn't get the game started I really don't know what else you can do at this point.on the other hand for everybody else got the game going there is a graphics enchantment patch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399258
it does make the game a little bit slower but it's definitely worth it ha I'm using it and it's working fine

You completely misunderstood me.
I said that I already have the game but I got it from googling the apk since the market wouldn't let me buy it.
It runs smoothly for me as well. Sometimes its choppy but that is rare and only when i'm hauling ass in the banshee. Great game for the amaze.
With chainfire you should be able to install nvidia tegra games
I sent rockstar an email they got back to me that they will have there tech department test it on some amazes and verify it runs fine and add the amaze to the compatibility list.

ok i think i figured out why it does not work for some people but for others it does
i just flashed beastmod 2.whatever latest ver. and tried to install all of my apps back.
i got all of them except gta3 so i went to the market trough my pc and looked it up clicked install and it made me choose a device - HTC Ruby (grayed out) HTC Amaze (compatible) and some older phones. So... im assuming the htc amaze is my first amaze that was broken and i returned it so that leaves me with HTC Ruby. then i went into the build.prop and saw that the device was marked as HTC Ruby not HTC Amaze. Even though its the same device the market does not recognize Ruby.
So this could be a solution but im not a dev so cant be 2 sure its gonna work.
I need a stock Htc amaze 4g build.prop so i can swap it out with the one that came with Beastmod.
I was on quicksense and it didn't show after sending the email to rockstar and getting there reply just a couple hours ago it showed up in my market again I did nothing else nice

Just moved to the evo 3d from a nexus s 4g. The device had an older market on it for a couple days without an update so I loaded the latest market, v3.44 I believe.
Anyway, Im being told that GTA3 is incompatible with my device. Is this due to the market I installed, not being original? Asking because I guess I just assumed that this particular title would be compatible. Thanks!
yeah they made it incompatible even though it runs great on it.
you can either download some app, i dont know what its called.. something like market unlocker or something that tricks the market to download things not flaged for your devices..
some people bought it on their 4G, TI-backed it and restored on their 3D and some people did the google thing, either way it runs well.

Anyone have an update on this?

When playing games like Shadowgun, six guns, tank hero for example, the multitouch will work but it appears to read the second touch momentarily and cause the tank to stop in tank hero or looking around the will be effected making the game nearly impossible to play. Also, in some instances, the first touch will freeze if I introduce a second touch and will not clear until I either hit back or somewhere else on the screen.
Anyone else having this issue? I've tested ALL ICS roms except the new CNA...I've also tested the raindrop fix as well with no prevail.
Other than this issue ICS seems to be flawless on my device including videocam illusion giving me videocam at 640x480 front and back.
Thanks for any help
Update with CNA tested
Test on CNA and still experiencing the same issue
This has been a problem on every ics build so far on the photon. Problem is incorrect drivers/lack of source. I believe joker is changing some touch screen stuff right now.

Hey guys I just upgraded from Nokia N8 to the SGSIII
Finally made the switch to android, will miss nokia though
anyways
I love playing gba games on my phone and i never had problems with my nokia
This phone is a beast compared to what I've ever had in phone but yet it lags on my gba roms
The n64 game worked just fine
Only having lag problems with this.
i looked up some threads already and change the frame skip to 1 or even 0 which took care of the video lag a bit but the sound it terrible.
Anyone experiencing this with this phone?
would really like the help
Thanks
I just tested gameboid on my SGSIII (Tmobile version) and experienced no kind of lag. I even changed the frame skip to zero. Cant say exactly what fps it was running at (i couldnt find an option to check) but everything seemed smooth. I tested tried Legend of Zelda Minish Cap, Mario Kart and Pokemon Fire Red. All ran fine. Do you have the same problems with all your roms? Are you running the newest version of Gameboid?

Hey I'm try g to play pokemon red and it lags . I believe I have version 2.47.
Th first time I tried it it ran perfect a d I was so happy but never since. I even did a factory reset. It's smooth with the sound off but it should run perfectly smooth with this phone. I disabled a bunch of the t mobile n Google apps but still no improvement
I can't think what could be causing the problem. If possible you can try redownloading gameboid and reinstalling. Also maybe try a different gba bios (not sure at all if this would really change anything. just throwing the idea out there). Everything is stock on my SGSIII and I havent had any problems running any emulators I've thrown at it. The only setting I usually change is the fram skip (to zero) and I turn off the vibration. Hopefully someone else out there can give you more help with this.

Might have been something i installed previously.
Thanks for helping out!
After uninstalling and reinstalling a couple of Gameloft games(1/7/13), Mortal Combat3 and Nova3, they would not work anymore. I was so pissed.... I should have just kept as was..... Anyone experience same thing?

Maybe this should be in the Q&A thread... Hence the ? at the end of your post.
I can't answer your question though? I have not done a switch out in a while on my Note 2...

Nova3: Issue was rotation control app. As soon as I uninstalled, it worked fine
Modern Combat3: It's no longer compatible with our device.
I've noticed quite a few don't work I don't think the Note II's hardware is the blame though I think it's just the jelly bean OS that's causing the issues, hopefully the game manufactures will patch it and fix the compatibility.
I miss HORN

I can't seem to find an answer either. While I don't have a Note II, I do have a tablet running 4.2.1 JB, and neither MC3 or MC4 will even load up. I just get that little flashing circle when I try to launch the games...

They let me download 1.5 gb games just fine, but then I get an error message when I open them. NOVA 3 and Asphalt 7 are working. Gangstar Rio and Modern Combat 2 & 3 don't work.
Any updates on getting these games
to work? Thanks
Alas, Nova, MC3/4....same problems here. It is a real let down to buy something, it not work, than gameloft give u a cheese answer.
I did get mc4 loaded. I uninstalled all gameloft games, deleted any gameloft data in sd/android/data then reinstated. Works. Also moved to lightweight v0.6 to try out at same time. Maybe the answer is in the rom, or the sd data wipe. I really can not answer. Also seen where for some people they could longpress home and go back to app after the crash and that worked. But I am worried, because I get my note 2 this week and these such games is why I bought it :-\ was wanting a more smooth gameplay.

Hi,
Some people have had compatibility problems and found that by unchecking in settings, developer options, force gpu rendering option.
That certain apps start working.
Maybe this can help you.
Thanks,
Bryan
My issue was actually with limiting background processes via dev options. As soon as I reset to normal all games loaded fine.
