I have bought S2 few weeks ago and accidentally I found out in total dark that screen on my phone is having some strange dots and ''V'' shape as you can see on the photo attached. That is only visible on totally black screen and in total darkness.
For this occasion I made a 'black' photo with my finger on the lens, and later I made photo of the screen with my DSLR camera with exposure of 30 seconds.
What you think about this? Is it normal behaviour of the screen or I bough a faulty phone?

Download this screen testing app and see if you have the dots etc and on different colours.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.lappe.tim.android.lcdtest
If the dots etc show up using this app I'd get it replaced under warranty if possible.

I've noticed something similar, it is not that the screen is darker but shadow areas in images are overburned and so dark that details are missing.
For example compare a photo with a lot of shadows and look at that on the pc and on the SGS2 and you will see what I mean; on the SGS2 the shadows turn into black blots (and this is irrespective of brightness).
I've not figured out yet if it is a defect in my handset or it is a 'feature' of samoled plus....

I've been having this issue lately. It started just a few weeks ago when I noticed these black horizontal screen lines on my screen which are very visible on grey and other light colored backgrounds. It persists even after rebooting, still on the same spots.
I've run across this problem with 2 of the kernels I've tried. Siyah and Hyperdroid Kernel. Positions of the lines changes with the kernels, I think. I'm not having this problem with void and NEAK.
I'm running a Samsung ROM. Hyperdroid. I was using CheckROM before and I was also having this problem. On ICS ROMs, no black horizontal lines were showing. If I remember correctly, lines also do not show on AOSP ROMs(not that sure).
So, is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how I can fix this?
Here's a pic of the screen. If you look closely, there are some black lines on the grey area... But they're not that visible on the picture because of the camera. But it's disturbingly visible when the screen is right in front of you.

Sorry for bad quality used Lumia 520 to take a picture of it
I tried other ways of fixing it like downloading Pixel Fixer and similar stuff nothing helped.
is there any other weird way of fixing this myself? I seen somewhere that leaving it on the cold ice for 24 hours can fix it but that looks non sense for me. If anyone have tried it and it worked please let me know.
Anyway is there any other untraditional of fixing this without taking it to local repair shop.
Would Factory Reset help?
Anyone? I really need help with this.
I'm running Android 4.4.2 on my Verizon GS4 and I rooted it with towelroot a few months ago. I mainly used that to remove some bloatware and use Greenify/Titanium Backup.
For a couple months now, the top section my screen has been flickering and looks like it's filtered with a dark tint when the screen brightness gets below about 30% (see the top of the image below). I just woke up this morning and the bottom quarter or so has turned yellow (see bottom portion of picture below.
Two questions.
1) Has anyone experienced either of these issues and is there a way to fix it?
2) If not, how would I unroot the phone so I can try to get Verizon to exchange the phone for me?

Hi,
I have a s23 ultra since a few months.
Everything were fine, but since 1 week, screen is a bit too dark with adaptive brightness on.
I don't why but when I'm at home, the phone is usable but too dark.
Outside, I have to manually increase luminosity.
Do you have any idea?
Do you use a screen protector? If yes is it one of those privacy ones? Those are darker
Have you run Diagnostics in Maintenance menu?
There's a proximity recognition there. Try that.
There are android apps, example, DevCheck, that lets you check sensor data like this one called Light.
Check if everything is normal there.

Hi,
I use the same tpu screen protection since the first day, it's not a privacy one .
I've launched "sensors" and "proximity" diagnostic with no problem
