[Q] Black Horizontal Screen Lines - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been having this issue lately. It started just a few weeks ago when I noticed these black horizontal screen lines on my screen which are very visible on grey and other light colored backgrounds. It persists even after rebooting, still on the same spots.
I've run across this problem with 2 of the kernels I've tried. Siyah and Hyperdroid Kernel. Positions of the lines changes with the kernels, I think. I'm not having this problem with void and NEAK.
I'm running a Samsung ROM. Hyperdroid. I was using CheckROM before and I was also having this problem. On ICS ROMs, no black horizontal lines were showing. If I remember correctly, lines also do not show on AOSP ROMs(not that sure).
So, is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how I can fix this?
Here's a pic of the screen. If you look closely, there are some black lines on the grey area... But they're not that visible on the picture because of the camera. But it's disturbingly visible when the screen is right in front of you.

Screen issue on S2

I have bought S2 few weeks ago and accidentally I found out in total dark that screen on my phone is having some strange dots and ''V'' shape as you can see on the photo attached. That is only visible on totally black screen and in total darkness.
For this occasion I made a 'black' photo with my finger on the lens, and later I made photo of the screen with my DSLR camera with exposure of 30 seconds.
What you think about this? Is it normal behaviour of the screen or I bough a faulty phone?

Download this screen testing app and see if you have the dots etc and on different colours.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.lappe.tim.android.lcdtest
If the dots etc show up using this app I'd get it replaced under warranty if possible.

Camera - Black scrren or fuzzy white lines?

Been having this problem for a month now. The screen shot below is of the fuzzy white lines, usually its just black with the side controls still intact. I have tried everything. I have and am running, Samsung Galaxy S2 i777, Shostock 3.0.2 ROM, AJK 4.7ms kernel. I did a factory reset a few times, reinstalled the ROM a few times with and without the kernel. ONCE in a while the camera will work. After you close it and try to go back to it, it wont work (as I described above). I even bought a new camera module and installed it... same result. I posted this in the S2 i777 forum already with only one reply that didnt help. I am posting here so that SOMEBODY hopefully has some experience with this or knows anything that can help me fix this. Thank you for your help!

So I opened my Nexus 9 today. I've never really had any issues with any of my tech before, but does this look like a dead or stuck pixel? I've tried a factory reset and downloaded a Pixel Fixer app and ran that for an hour but no luck.
I couldn't get a clear picture, but if you look in the circle there is a white pixel. I've tried a bunch of different backgrounds and this white pixel is clearly visible on White, Red and Green backgrounds, but on a Black background I can't see anything.
Would I be able to return this? Tried to call Google but I keep getting disconnected.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi there im in the same position, ive had the nexus 9 for a month now and this pixel is killing me, the funny thing is its hard to tell if its a dead or stuck pixel as its white on a white background, and when its a black background its now where to be seen.

I'm having the same issue on a GS7 Edge. I can see a thumbnail of the album art, but there are no buttons.
Same problem. Completely blank but the buttons still work (if you remember where they are). It is just completely blank.
For some reason the text is white against the white background. Found out that if you press and hold for a short period of time you can see the white text. Not sure how to fix it since all the notifications have a white background.
Are any of you using Samsung's Good Lock? I was having this problem as well, then on a whim I uninstalled Good Lock and voila, problem solved. I've been back and forth on Good Lock anyways, as it seemed to adversely effect my battery life the first time I installed it. I'll try it again after a few more updates but this seems to be the cause of the problem.
I had the same issue. To fix it, go to the Good Lock advanced settings and enable the bottom 2 options.

Is this display a faulty one ?

Hi, Pictures say it all. Do you think that this screen is faulty? It presents anything with black scenes (like black bacgrounds here, netflix, youtube) looking like shiit.
There are some blobby pixelated stuff going on on black images and videos. Phone is new, never dropped pure condition.
I've read about some "black crush" issues with those displays. Do you think this is it ? Because I think this display is faulty. Anyone experienced such issue ? This black crush definitely would not be to such a huge extent imho. This is 100% not a compression issue because on my other phones, tv and computer black background looks like background and not like this shiit.
Anyone experience similar issue ?
Android version is 12.
