[Q] Problems with drivers? - HTC Amaze 4G

ok i have my Amaze with unlocked bootloader, 4ext Recovery, the first ICS Leak, and have used Hasoon's AIO toolkit.
however, whenever i try to use the ADB, i get the error of device not found. now it says the same thing when i used the toolkit, but it still pushed through the changes. but say i try to push the Trebuchet launcher .apk, and i do the adb remount code, but it says, "error: device not found"
now is it because i'm using wrong commands? or what do you think the problem is? i even uninstalled the HTC drivers, minus HTC sync, from the PC and then plugged the phone back in to try and reinstall the drivers. should i have deleted HTC sync as well and then tried again?
thanks in advance, but thanks will also be given to those that give me help.

And in the case of pushing files, you need to flash a modded boot image, check the dev section for one that has adb supported.

Ok i definitely had the usb debugging enabled too, i forgot to list that haha but thanks.
And thank you, ill look into the modified boot image.

[Q] Amaze 4G root help on Mac

I am having little luck rooting my Amaze 4G. I ran the Mac version of the one click root, however, after the terminal says "daemon started successfully" it hangs and does nothing. It has been sitting like that for 10 minutes now. Anyone have this problem? Or know what I should do?
[UPDATE]
I turned on USB debugging and got it to run, and the terminal returned "SUCCESSFUL".
However, after rebooting the phone, the phone is not rooted. And yes, my boot loader is unlocked using the HTCDev website.
Any thoughts?
Also the Amaze is running on Software number: 1.43.531.3
it could be because the commands for MAC are different than from windows.
mac commands contain a " ./ "
example: ./adb connect
etc
see if you can edit the script.. or paste the script here.
ill fix it
Alright, I got the one click root to work..... Kind of....
It said "successful"
However, after a reboot, my phone is not rooted.
Btw, it was because I didn't have USB debugging on. Silly me, forgot about the factory reset turned it off by default

Thanks to everyone on the other thread, I was successfully able to root my phone!! Getting CWM running was what I was messing up on. Finally got the phone to boot it. After that, rooted the phone with seansk and binary100100 's help, installed the root files.

S-OFF Question

OH MY GOD I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK! i just ran the program after reading through post for like 4 hours and found some useful stuff and since i am successfully S-OFF i figured i'd share.
1. i was already htc unlocked and rooted running Fresh 5.1.1 so if you want to go and unlock
2. go in your computer (im on win 7 64bit) control panel>programs and uninstall anything that says its by htc. and then install the htc drivers that are in the download page for the LazyPanda tool.
3. open sdk manager and make sure everything is up to date and that you have the usb drivers.
4. make sure usb debugging is enabled (settings>developer options) and the fast boot is disabled (in settings>power)plug in your evo and open up a command prompt and enter "adb devices" to make sure your evo is communicating with your computer.
5. type in "adb reboot bootloader" your evo should now boot into a white screen that says fastboot. let any drivers that are installing on your computer finish and then type "fastboot reboot" and your phone should boot up like normal. again let all drivers install.
6. let your evo settle and then open up the command prompt again and type "adb devices" just to check your evo is there.
7. disable ANY antivirus tools you have one on your computer and close any program that will do any communication with your usb port.
8. download and unzip the LazyPanda tool and then right click on the tool and run as administrator.
9. let LazyPanda run AND DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING. NOT YOUR COMPUTER. NOT YOUR EVO. DON'T EVEN TOUCH YOUR CAT. JUST SIT THERE AND PRAY THAT IT WORKS.
10. Once it says everything is done hit enter open up another command prompt and enter "fastboot reboot" and let your phone boot.
11. go to your evo and go to settings>activate this device and let it do its thing.
12. ENJOY YOUR NEW S-OFF EVO!!!
this is probably a little overkill with checking and whatnot but with all the bricks i figure its a good idea. hope this helped for anyone who uses this mini guide and if it did hit the thanks button

I followed this method for S-OFF and everything went great until I ran the lazy panda tool. I get a message saying it "Can't find Panda" and then said to press enter to exit. I am currently running Mean Rom 1.5 and got rooted via RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE Rooter. Any suggestions or solutions to this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Do a nand backup flash a stock rom then run lazy panda then restore you're backup, i had to do that had the same problem
Also i had a spare sd card i put in the phone to use while doing the s-off because i read that it was deleted some people sd card, not sure if the card is needed while running lazy panda but put one in anyway

Video by wwjoshdew for S-Off
There is a video of wwjoshdew running the Panda S-Off method on his YouTube channel.
Here is what I asked in the comments section and his response.
What state was your phone in before you did this? Were you HTC Dev Unlocked & rooted or just rooted? I'm currently rooted and HTC Dev Unlocked and would like to apply the updated Radio Firmware but apparently the only way to do that is with S-OFF. Thanks for making these vids and look forward to hearing back from you.

aright, fine... i'll reply! lol. I'm not sure about the S-ON S-OFF thing. I THINK you can be htc dev unlocked to apply the radio, but I'm not sure. I S-OFF everything... lol. Also, I was on MeanROM and htc dev unlocked when I ran S-OFF

I have not yet run lazy Panda yet, but I used the regaw_leinad method to root and unlock and since it worked for wwjoshdew, then I'm going to hope it will work for me too.

[Q] problem while rooting

I need some help
I was rooting my phone not the first time but anyways I unlocked it via htcdev method flashed custom recovery and superuser but when I do the adb shell thing nothing happens I don't know what to do next I check root checker and it says device not rooted properly btw I'm currently on ICS
Hope a quick reply
Cheers
try following this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889438
youve completed part of the guide already by using htcdev and all, but i dont recall having to adb shell all that much.
if you are already using that guide, make sure you have htc drivers installed and install htc sync (but uninstall the app afterwards and keep the drivers it also installed),
so that you're computer recognizes your phone.
also, do you actually have the superuser app on your device right now?? like is it there, just not working. or not there altogether?
The computer recognizes the phone
I have the superuser app but its not working I guess and the guide is for CDMA mine is gsm I followed the guide in the gsm development section

if you are, i clicked on the link to superuser and it brought up goo.im saying the file i requested wasnt not found.
did you per chance download one of the other superuser.zip's underneath that?? cause i'm pretty sure they might be for other devices.
if you want, i could email you the supersu.zip i used to gain root. just say the words

3.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
4.) if you are having problems with fastboot, try a usb 2.0 port.
5.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
6.) make sure other programs that interfere with and fastboot are uninstalled (PDANet, Kies, etc.)
7.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
8.) if you use a third party firewall, be sure to grant access to distiller.exe as it checks for updates

So my Moonshine S-Off failed when distiller.exe was running on Test #2 when it was waiting for ADB. Told me to fix it myself. Any ideas on how to fix it please?
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with where I extract "moonshine_jewel_3.16.651.3.zip" to? Should all the files be in the same folder as adb.exe? I'm running the Windows version by the way. Test #1 for Fastboot passed successfully.
Thanks in advance!

This isn't working for me. I get stuck at test 3. It just keeps adding more dots: ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
When you say removing HTC Sync, are you talking about "HTC Sync Manager" on the phone itself? Reason I ask is because I think adb isn't connecting to the phone is because by default, when the phone reboots, the USB connection type is selecting "HTC Sync Manager", which causes adb to not find the device. When I change the USB connection type to "Disk Drive", I'm able to see my devices listed when issuing the "adb devices" command. Does anyone know how to fix this? To make the USB connection type default to "Disk Drive" rather than "HTC Sync Manager" when it reboots? Thanks!
Regarding your first question, make sure HTC Sync is removed from your computer.

Yes, I shall try that. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for this!! Worked perfectly. Very simple. Just picked up my EVO after my Galaxy Nexus broke, have been wanting to root and S-off but don't have any blank DVDS to make a linux live-CD, and just got foot surgery so cant drive to the store... This method saved me there. Makes everything extremely simple. This is basically like a 1 click S-off, if you follow the directions. Thanks again!
This works perfectly I must say. Thank you very much!!! I am now S-OFF!!!
Make sure your ADB and Fastboot is working (this is huge), and HTC Sync is 100% uninstalled, but the HTC drivers are still installed. Your phone will restart probably 8 times once Moonshine recognizes your ADB the first time.
If anyone needs any help let me know. This is by far the easiest S-Off of all time!!! Now quit pretending having S-On is acceptable and DO THIS!!!

If you followed the directions 100%, then I wonder how this could fail. If your HTC unlocked, then you should have fastboot and ADB working, I would double check that. Make sure you have everything working and that you have followed the directions 100% perfectly, and it should be easy.

Make sure you have the latest HTC driver installed. Use a USB 2.0 port, make sure that HTC Sync is not installed on your computer, and that your computer antivirus is off.
You can get the latest driver in the link below. Use the HTC driver from post #2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179776
Also, it may take a few attempts before Moonshine is successful. On the phone I recently Moonshined, it took a few tries before it succeeded, and I had everything set up correctly.

I've been running into the same issues! It keeps getting stuck on the second step! I've been following all your suggestions you posted in my other thread as well. At least it got me to the second step in Moonshine.
All HTC drivers were removed and the new ones were reinstalled. Computer and phone rebooted, USB 2.0 port, etc... I even went to another PC and ran into the same problems. I'll try it some more since you said it took a few tries.
Edit: Now it won't establish a connection to complete the first step in fastboot even though the PC keeps making sounds when fastboot USB gets turned on

You have to use a live CD with Dirty Racun if you are running Windows. To answer your second question, no, you can't use terminal emulator on your phone, either. Please be careful with what you're doing, otherwise you risk having an expensive paperweight in your hand. Personally I would have gone the Moonshine route It's Windows friendly and you don't have to fool with any commands, other then checking device connection with ADB & fastboot.

Yeah I know. I'm being really careful with everything - reading up before I do ANYTHING. I've done this to several phones before, but never had this much trouble...
Do you know if it's possible to still use Moonshine at this point? I've gone through every single step for DirtyRacun except for #14 which is to run RabiesShot. I have the RUU for 3.15 HBOOT 2.09 installed and running fine right now. If I can use Moonshine (and actually get it to connect to the device now), I would rather do that.

Make sure you're doing a full system wipe in recovery prior to flashing the ROM. You also might want to try opening a command prompt in your ADB tools folder while in the bootloader and type the command "fastboot erase cache" (minus quotation marks) and hit enter. Make sure you're connected via fastboot USB first.
