Did you just walk out of a cave and this is your first electronic device? It's normal for things to get a little warm...

Nothing to worry about. Most electrical items when left on get warm.
I got a GS2 for free, but it has screen burn in pretty bad. Any ways to fix it or atleast make it easier to deal with.

replace the screen?
I doubt the LCD can be fixed, as the liquid crystals are "dried" In a fixed position now, your best bet is to replace the screen.

I have a blue and a white s3 at the moment before I decide what one to keep and I have noticed the blue one gets Alito hotter than the white one? could this be a problem or just because all phones are slightly different?

Darker coloured phones absorb more heat probably..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
so you could say it's drawing more heat away from the quad core thus being better for it? lol
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
well yes and no, it could also be worse as it will absorb heat from its surroundings and may conduct that back to the processor
And yes I do realise how silly this thread is
So better not buy a black one, it will frie your cpu
It's not just internal heat that the dark colored phones are trapping, they trap ambient heat as well (e.g. Sunlight, lamps).

I'm just noticing this, I'm outside in the sun now and the blue one is defiantly warmer all over compared to the white. the battery is going to love that I bet
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I just checked the battery temp and the blue one is on 38c just from surfing the net is this actually normal?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
38° is nothing... i have easily 48° with the white s3 on 3g, same goes for other devices
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
When using it inside I can't feel any difference in temp...
Out in the sun I can understand the blue one will get hotter.

Every processor is different. Even if they are same brand. That's the only reason.

I'm not even sure it will show on the screenshot. Grey horizontal lines along the bottom of the screen. Sometimes it is an opaque block. The screen is still responsive underneath it. A soft reset improves it. But it's getting steadily worse.
Thanks.

If it's not showing in the screenshot then it's probably hardware related.
Hey, thanks for your reply. Hardware as in unfixable, does the screenshot seem OK to you? I can't tell as I permanently have the lines.

Screenshot is perfectly fine.
Seems like your screen is starting to die....
Does it seem like the lines are better when you turn on the phone after being turned off for a while....??
From my experience when a screen goes like that it will get worse the warmer the device is..
If your still under warranty send it off for repair and it won't cost you a thing.

Yes, that's it exactly. Not under warranty and screens cost £150!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Gonna have to pay out for a new screen sorry. No other way of fixing it.... or just buy yourself a Gnex

There could be other problems, better go to a service center for assessment.
