X-plore
X-plore is dual-pane file manager with tree view, LAN/FTP/Root/Clouds and more.
Highlights:
* Dual-pane tree view
* Root, FTP, SMB, Sqlite, Picasa, Zip, Rar explorer
* Cloud storage access: Google Drive™, Dropbox, SugarSync, Box.net, SkyDrive
* Favorite folders
* Built-in viewers for images, video, audio, text
* Hex viewer
* Fast Image viewer with zoom and slide to previous/next images in folder
* Thumbnails for images and video as well as for various file types (depending on associated application)
* Multi-selection - always available, yet not disturbing
* View APK files as ZIP
* Share - send files by Bluetooth, email, or whatever the device supports, from any location
* Configurable buttons and key shortcuts
* Seamless work with Zip (as if it was normal folder)
X-plore allows you to see inside of your Android phone or tablet.
This is a dual-pane explorer, which means that there're two folders shown at same time, and common operation such as copying files are done from one pane to another.
And X-plore shows folder hierarchy in a tree view. This offers clear orientation on where in file system you currently are, and fast switching to other location.
Currently selected folder and files are highlighed, while other folders/files have slighly darker background.
You may explore internals of the device, and if you're power user and have your device rooted, you can make changes to system data - backup files, remove unwanted applications, etc.
If you're standard user, you may choose to hide internal memory from view and be sure not to mess with system.
You can comfortably see contents of your external memories, either be it built-in high capacity memory, external memory card, or possibly USB memory stick attached to your tablet. All these memory types are listed in main level, you don't need to search for their folders on the device.
Access to FTP and FTPS (secure FTP) servers is supported.
Multiple servers may be configured. All standard file operations can be done on FTP server.
X-plore can display shared folders on other computers in LAN (local area network).
The system allows access to shared folders on computers connected to LAN, or even remote server if it supports SMB protocol.
X-plore can access various web storage "Cloud" servers, and access their files.
You need to have account in supported web service, then you can access your files stored online through X-plore.
Main operations are related to managing files and folders - viewing, copying, moving, deleting, compressing to Zip, extracting, renaming, sharing, and more.
Picasa albums
X-plore can list images in Picasa albums, download them, create albums, upload and delete photos, edit captions.
SQLite database viewer
X-plore can show SQLite database files (those with .db extension) as expandable list of tables, each table containing list of rows and columns with database entries.
Main interaction is done by touch screen, clicking on folders or files to open files, or long-click to open context menu which contains options which can be done on particular clicked item, or multiple selected items.
Multi-selection allows to do operation on more files at once. Files can be selected by clicking check box. It is also possible to select all files in a folder, or clear selection, by clicking parent folder's check box.
Opening file may mean to use one of built-in viewer for most popular file types: images, audio, video and text.
Or you may configure X-plore to use system application for opening files, in which case system-predefined application that can open particular file is launched.
Archives (currently supported are Zip and Rar) are displayed as other folders. You may open them, see contents, and do standard operations that you'd do on files - rename, delete, copy from/to, etc.
Additional interaction is possible by button bar, which is between two panes, and is fully configurable. You may put buttons of your desired operations here, and change ordering.

I had trouble with a note that crashed while recording and since then it wouldn't let me back into it. It just continually had the syncing icon in the middle of the note and when I tap on it to open, a toast message appears saying saving.
I have seen posts from others where they fixed a broken note by opening the note on another device that you sync your Evernote with, rename the tile or move the note and that fixed it.

Just ran into an issue where the app crashed while saving a note, and now I see the saving icon on top of the note, and if I click it nothing happens except I occasionally get a toast that says saving. I tried rebooting too. Going to try moving it around on the desktop and see what happens after a sync.

Update, editing on my PC by moving and changing the title seem to fix it.

Unfortunately for me though, my broken note was not synced to Evernote so I could not open it on another device.
Thank's to kool2zero who posted this reply from HTC because that helped me fix the problem.

Update from HTC regarding using notes offline and trying to sync an bunch of pictures and notes:
I understand that you would like to know if there is a way to retrieve a note that was apparently deleted from your HTC Flyer before it was able to sync. I tried to duplicate this issue by disabling Wi-Fi, creating four new notes with pictures, then reenabling Wi-Fi and attempting to sync but I was unable to replicate the issue. Your best bet for seeing if the notes are still cached somewhere would be to download a file explorer, such as Astro, Linda or ES File Explorer and search the contents. You may want start by looking under SD Card> .data> HTC Notes or if you know the name of the file you lost, try searching by the file name using the file explorer.

This is is a guide how to do it the way I did:
I basically went to the .data/HtcNotes folder on SD Card, found the files for my broken note, created a new temporary note, and overwrote that new note with my broken one.
* Create a new blank note on your flyer
* Record a few seconds of voice on that note (optional) only needed if your broken note has a recording on it you need to recover too (this is so it creates the.amr file to replace)
* Plug Flyer into a PC in Disk Mode (or use a file explorer app like htc suggest)
* Browse to .data/HtcNotes directory (see attached screenshot)
* Find the folder and files related to the broken note (tip: the folder should have the same 'modified date' as your broken note)
* Copy the folder to a temporary location
* Find the folder and files related to the new blank note
* Overwrite the blank note files with your broken note files, Note: make sure the filenames of your broken note are renamed to the blank note's filename
* Disconnect from PC and open notes app on Flyer
* You should now be able to open your note and sync it to Evernote.

Thanks very much for the tip. Had been struggling for quite long. I had recorded a couple of interviews and as the recordings were quite heavy, the HTC Notes app was crashing. The note wasn't even syncing with Evernote too.

4.Link2sd
Link2SD is an application that makes it easy for Android 1.6+ users with root privileges on their phone to move applications to the SD card.
The idea behind is same with apps2sd scripts, linking applications to SD card's second partition but differs in two ways.
One, instead of linking /data/app folder (that means moving all applications), you can select applications that you want to move.
Two, it's an application which means has a user interface. You can manage your applications with few clicks.
It also provides native apps2sd features on Android 2.2 and higher. It can move any non-protected user apps to SD card (force move), with batch moving capability.
That feature uses Android's standard SD-card installation feature and does not require a second partition. It can break some apps if they are not meant to be moved to the SD card (Such as Widgets).

In short, how could i manage what to show on "Photos & Videos" widget
And how could i delete and re-generate the thumbnails?
Long Storys here.
I have these
/mnt/sdcard/Music/AlbumA
/mnt/sdcard/Music/AlbumB
/mnt/sdcard/Music/.nomedia
But when i copy a new album from PC containing pictures thru USB MTP
i.e. /mnt/sdcard/Music/AlbumC/Cover.jpg, Back.jpg
The Cover.jpg and Back.jpg are showing on the widget.
But AlbumA, B and C do not show up.
Of Course, I want to hide them.
After a few boot, they disappear.
And the most critical problem, the widget cached my online comic reader cached file...
The comic seems to download the pictures from web to the phone temporarily, but the widget cached all of them and show them all on the widget!!!
OK, fine, i then go clear the comic ready cache.
But the cached images are still showing on the widget.
And i found there are thumbnail on /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnail
After i delete all the thumbnail...
The widget shows a lot of broken images icon...
And also don't work on deleting the files in
/mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.sonyericsson.gallery/
/mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.sonyericsson.advancedwidge.photo
How could i regenerate and fix the widget
Apologize for my poor English.
Thank you very much.
Sorry here is little update
- There are 36 broken images shown on the widget (Bottom right in the capture)
- 36 broken images are scanned by the gallery (Left in capture)
- The gallery scans a folder contains 36 images without folder name (Middle in capture and middle folder), tapping menu and the gallery will force close
- QuickPic show the image detail that is path "/" of size -1 (Top right in capture)
Kindly please advise what should i do.
I am very confuse.

I have the same problem. Image cache from some app is being indexed by gallery and showing up in gallery and the widget.
Same deal gallery force closes if you want to check info. No useful info in quickpic.
SDRescan does not fix this.

This is an alternative to the stock gallery.
Using this could "hide" the problem but not actual fix the problem.
Also, the "File Expert" having a shortcut to show all images on the device and it also show the 36 broken images
For all of your information, I tried the following steps:
1) re-move all images from internal storage and reboot and reboot and reboot, nothing happen and the broken image still showing
2) remove cache also (gallery and widget cache), rebootsssss again. same result
3) format internal storage .......rebootss.......the broken images still there, the gallery still showing 36 broken image on an empty named folder
4) setting>privacy>reset setting....rebootsss........SAME!!!!
5) Factory reset......... then the problem gone......
I am guessing the stupid sony media scanner scans some images that is on the phone storage and could only accessed by root (or could access previously but not now, let says some apps/uid removed already)
Still, don't know a exact solution for that.... sigh...
Damn, sorry for reviving the dead without actually helping - after posting I've read again and noticed deleting data/com.sonyericsson.* cached files did not help to the OP (worked for me).

*Hit The THANKS*
Feedback helps create other useful scripts
Ok …. So there is no easy way to Mod the Stock Android Browser or the Chrome Browser
to make it easy on the eyes. Trust me I have tried, and I am a fairly good themer.
Problem is, the websites determine their webpage colors. I wanted something easy on
the peepers with these colors. (Black background/White text). Hell, why not have a bunch of colors to choose from? Exactly -
So… I have created a Bookmarklet to do the trick for me. The script is encoded with my personal Easter Eggs. (to identify it )
If you are unfamiliar with JS Script, please do a google search for info, This is not a JAVA How to or Q&A thread.
Cross Browser compatibility – written with Javascript.
Pros – It will invert every single webpage you desire to invert
Pros – It will preserve the color images (99% of them.)
Pros – Click the Thanks and /or Donate Button!
Pros – Works on PC as well, using FireFox Browser
Cons – (Once the menu is up, and you tap anywhere else on the screen the menu will fade out)
For the pages you want inverted, you must bring the menu up. (not as bad as it sounds)
CHROME- *To bring the menu back, just type the bookmarks name "MJAMOCHA" in the URL, select it.
ANDROID- * Click your created bookmark … (not as bad as it sounds)
The Instructions are very simple, a caveman could do it!
** FOR CHROME BROWSER ONLY -Here are the instructions **
**There are 2 files in the. Zip. One for the color menu, and the second is an extra menu I thought might be useful. Follow the instructions for each file.
1. Download the CHROME-myfile.txt.zip * (which contain my java/css script info), Save the .zip, Extract the .zip - Inside you will see two "CHROME-myfile.txt" files. Long press on the .txt file, click Open in Text Editor, do a Select All - then copy the script info.
2. Paste my java/css script info into the Browser URL on your device (do not press go yet)
3. Click the star (on the right side of the browser toolbar) to make a bookmark.
When the “Bookmark this page” pop up window comes up
• Where it says “Label” type MJAMOCHA
• Where it says “Address” , paste the java/css script info you just copied
• Click “OK”
• Your bookmark has been created
4. Go to your favorite webpage, once there
• Just Type "MJAMOCHA" in the URL
• Click on it, The Menu Will Appear
• Watch the Magic Happen!
Note: It is better to open the file and copy the text from your device. Reason
is to maintian the structure of the script. (spacing ... blah blah blah) if there are
unnecessary spaces within the script after your paste- it will fail.
This is NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP, U must Save it to your device, Extract it, copy the script text.
*****UPDATED for Stock Android Browser ONLY

I have also created a menu style bookmark with the various color choices for your Android Browser.
Android Stock INSTRUCTIONS - (Download the "Android-Stock".zip)
1. Follow the above instructions 1-3
2. For step 4 of the instructions - Instead of Typing "MJAMOCHA" in the url, you must click your created bookmark to access the Color Menu or the Extra Menu.

[TRICK][GUIDE] How to stop creating Huge Thumbnail file in "DCIM/.thumbnails" folder
This guide is for the people who wants to save their sd card memory space
The Problem:
As experienced users in android, you may have noticed that android gallery app is creating a huge thumbnail file in "DCIM/.thumbnails" folder on your sd card. In my case it is more than 1GB. I tried deleting it. But, it is getting regenerated after some time. So I searched for a method to stop creating that file to save my sd card space and found this trick. This method may not be a 100% permanant solution for this. But so far I haven't got that huge file in my sd card. Here's the way to do the trick,
Solution:
1. Go to "DCIM/.thumbnails" folder of your sd card and copy the name of the thumbnail file.(mine is " .thumbdata3--1967290299")
2. Now select any unwanted file or take a copy of any file and rename it with that thumbnail filename.( .thumbdata3--1967290299)
Note: Select any small file that you can find in your device. ( I took a 5kb file)
DON'T GET A 0kb FILE!!!
3. Now replace the original thumbnail file with the small file that we renamed.
THAT'S ALL!!!! YOU HAVE DONE IT!!! :good:
Bug: This method only works until your gallery is updated. (by adding new files to an album)
If you like my work, don't forget to hit the THANKS button!!!
Is it ok if i delete all thumb pict in that folder?

I have simplest way, just delete your xperia galery and replace it with quickpic
Currently, my method is the best solution for generated huge thumbnails file in DCIM folder. Why?
Because it will not regenerated any thumbnails file anymore. In my case, the thumbnails almost reach 3GB.
Just need root phone and FolderMount app.
In FolderMount app, click add button. Just put any name in name field. In source field, select folder where thumbnails file generated.
After that, in destination field link it into system directory. After that click save. Here as example:
Why system directory? This is because the system is read only. Without mount read and write, the thumbnails cant be generated. So, dont worry about your system directory being filled by thumbnails because it will not generated thumbnails file anymore.
What about gallery? Does it run properly?
It still working as usual. But it may slow down the loading of picture after every boot.
Dont forget to set to run after boot in FolderMount preferences.
This method should work on all Xperia smartphones with stock album app.
via Tapatalk.
could this be another solution:

I think you have to disable media scanning also for that
for videos I prefer to add .nomedia file in the folder and browse them and open with any file explorer manualy. it's also available to hide some specific video folder
Alternatively, what I did was
SETTING -> STORAGE -> MAKE MORE SPACE -> UNINSTALL APPS
Wait till all apps been listed out then BACK, this will remove the thumbdata file. Don't ask me why, just by fluke...
I'm using HTC One S.
A Solution that works, NO ROOT
Just found this:
Using any file manager (I used ES file manager) rename/delete the .thumbnails folder and then create a new 'file' by the very same name: .thumbnails. After this I am not seeing any thumbnails created. Also the impact on gallery is not all that bothering.
Honestly, I do not use the default gallery much, but when the photos change, thumbnails are still getting created, probably when new images are added. But this certainly seems to put a stop to it.
I uninstalled gallery on my phone (galaxy s blaze, rooted with ics 4.04) and .thumbnails still gets recreated every few days. I will try deleting .thumbnails folder and making it a read-only file.
Hi there , i got same problem too , i have found that its not my gallery cause i disable the gallery but still phone is making a huge thumbnail..
i had solve this before with using quick pic app witch makes its own thumbs in other way of making thumbs.
But any other application like whatsapp messaging or xplore file manager that trays to make a thumbnail will fail like that. And other apps is not working normal because of no space left. I also used you solution but its being replaced with same name and size of space free left.
