I don't wanna start from scratch all over again, I can transfer my txt and pics with no problem so if ya know of an app let me know
You'll have to be rooted on the EVO LTE and use titanium root backup.
Your old device was rooted? you'd have to have that one rooted as well.

will all our apps erase just wondering because if i plan to play zenonia i don't want to invest my time passing it if rooting it will require erasing everything? thanks
If you don't backup with data... But more than likely you're wasting time lol

Rooting will not make you lose anything. Once you root, everything will be the same. Now when you flash custom roms you will lose your data, but there are apps such as Titanium Backup and MyBackUp that will save all your data for games and such.

Rooting simply means that we get higher permissions to be able to open the system up. This means that you can add and delete and modify places you where not able to before. It opens up this bad boy to be able to use programs that require higher access then regular noon rooted programs...(wifi tethering, backing up/restoring items deletion of bloatware....and so on) your phone does not really change but just in access to it. However...depending on the rooting method..some items might be lost. Not to be to concerned...the opening of the phone to the user is worth it. Since we don't know how we will root it yet..I just want to be able to root it. And also..it is your option to root if you want or not
Hi,
I have Galaxy nexus, and I just bought a S3, i want to switch my whole data to S3, Pictures, Music, Videos and App data.
Any easy way?
Root both devices, install Titanium Backup on both. Backup all apps on your old phone, move TitaniumBackup folder to your new phone, restore all apps. That will give you all the installed apps + data.
While you're at it, you can also copy all data on your old phone's memory to the new one. That should transfer the remaining data (photos, videos, etc). Phone settings like probably won't get transfered though (ringtone settings, wallpapers, etc) as they depend on the rom and are hard to transfer.

If you haven't already unlocked bootloader, you'll need to use a method that doesn't wipe data.
This is one recent possibility.
I wouldn't put data from a Gnex tothe s3. And ur apps will DL as soon as u log in gmail or market.
Thanks Everyone
I managed to transfer apps by the method you mentioned, now i need to move pictures, music and videos
I dont want to root my S3
Can't you just use a computer?

I did that as my last resolution, I was looking for something like the option RIM got in it's application
its always best to manually transfer Pictures, music and videos . "Cut & Move"

Agree, just to elaborate this folder is DCIM usually. I'd recommend not copying over your data from titanium and do a clean start.

i just rooted my phone the other day and loaded somethings on it mainly an emulator and was wondering if i got a new phone could i transfer the game data to the new phone or do i have to start over? i looks like the game is saved on sd card but i just wanna make sure. might have to upgrade to s3 or get a gnex i really wanna wait for the new nexus tho
Yes, as long as you can root the new phone. Usually root is available within a few days of release. Easiest way is to use Titanium Backup. It backs up tha app and the data. Then you can restore both, or reinstall the app from its source, and just restore data.
ok thats what i thought just wanted to make sure thanks
Now that we have root, how would I transfer apps from my S3 to the Note 2? I use titanium, so do I just simply restore all my apps and app data to the Note? I really don't want to lose my progress in some of my games....

Yes, backup and restore your apps+data. For system apps, just transfer the data or don't do it at all.
Hello,
Just curious. But what do you guys use to transfer your data between phones?
I want atleast my apps and sms transfered.
Bonus perks if it can transfer the app settings/saved games.
What do you guys use?
It's never a good idea to restore to much Data, especially between Devices. Restoring SMS / MMS should not really be an issue. Neither should games. Although again it could possibly cause issues. I use TB ( Titanium Backup Pro ) to restore apps sometimes. Works great. Although I try to avoid restoring Data.
You can use Titanium Backup to backup everything on your old phone to a External SD Card, then take the SD Card and put it into your New Phone's slot. Then Download Titanium Backup on your new phone and restore everything.
i have titanium back up and its good. It feels a lil over complicated to recommend it to friends though. even i had to play with it for 10 min to understand how it works lol but it seems thats the prevailing option. Was wondering if there was anything else out there i didnt know of.
