Now that we have root, how would I transfer apps from my S3 to the Note 2? I use titanium, so do I just simply restore all my apps and app data to the Note? I really don't want to lose my progress in some of my games....

Yes, backup and restore your apps+data. For system apps, just transfer the data or don't do it at all.

I've had a quick look around, this forum and a couple of others and didn't find much.
I may be getting a Galaxy Note in the next couple of days to test it's day-to-day use and how it compares to the S2 and Galaxy Nexus.
If I was to root the Note, how easy would it be to transfer a Nandroid backup from the S2 to the Note? Mainly so I can just pretty much pick up where I left off.
----------EDIT-------
I forgot to mention, I have an S2 as my personal phone just now.
Just back up apps and associated data / SMS / Contacts etc
Can use Titanium backup or one of the many other back up programs.
Another way is to use AppExtractor on a CWM5 Backup but the free version is limited.

So, Titanium Backup works cross device? Does it just use your Gmail address to assess what you've backed up?
I'll have a look into AppExtractor. And see what happens with that...
Titanium works cross device as only takes the application and associated data.
Not a user of Titanium but it works for all and is free.
AppExtractor is awesome as from a CWM5 backup you can restore app data APM SMS without having "extra" backups taking up SD space.

Yeah, I'll definitely see what I can do with Titanium and AppExtractor If and when I get the Galaxy Note.
My Prime is not rooted so I cannot use my titanium backup I was wondering if app backup and restore that came with the Prime will actually back up game data for programs or settings for programs that it backs up?
does anyone know if this works or not?
bump....... no one has used this?
I have the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and i wanna transfer my apps with the data my phone is not rooted is there a way to transfer the apps with data so that i do not lose all i have done with these apps.
I don't wanna start from scratch all over again, I can transfer my txt and pics with no problem so if ya know of an app let me know
You'll have to be rooted on the EVO LTE and use titanium root backup.
Your old device was rooted? you'd have to have that one rooted as well.
Guys, been searching for a while now but cant find a definite answer. I have my Galaxy Note for a year now, and planning to upgrade to Galaxy Note 2 this weekend.
Anyway, how can I transfer my files from the note to the new note 2? i have an ios and basically to do that in an ios, you just have to backup the old iphone and sync the new iphone in. and its done. apps, contacts, videos, photos, etc is transferred to the new phone. is it possible in an android? specially on a samsung galaxy note to galaxy note 2? or what other ways? kies perhaps? will that work like an itunes? i totally have no idea, galaxy note was my first android so this is my first time transferring files to the new one. and i cant, have both phones with me at the same time, bec i'll be having the old galaxy note traded for the new galaxy note 2 plus some cash.
Thanks in advance!
I use titanium backup to save copies of apps and their data on my sdcard and also sync to Dropbox.
Restoring things on the new phone is a matter of installing titanium backup and Dropbox, copying the backup to the phone and restoring using TB.
Of course- you need to be rooted to use TB.
I believe you can also use ADB to backup and restore apps, but I've never done that.

I have the S3 on Sprint, but moving to an AT&T S3. I have a 64gb SD card that has nearly all of my data stored on it (photos, music, etc).
Is there an easy way to "move" my apps and settings from one phone to the other or do I set it up from scratch again?

If rooted you can use Titanium Backup, MyBackup Pro, Rom Toolbox Pro or many other apps to make backup of apps as well as XML snapshot of your settings / phone calls / mms / other system data but I wouldn't recommend migrating system data since it can create conflicts
