Where are you located if you dont mind me asking?
Do you know if network vision has rolled out to you yet?

Just got 2400 in North Dallass (Plano) but at 5 am so..

I got 1.8 megs down last night 3G near down town Dallas around 10pm.

This was in the suburbs of Chicago. Network vision is apparently live here
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA

Very impressive! I can be quite patient with the LTE rollout if 3G speeds are that good.

Which suburb? I'm near niles/glenview.

Hopefully this will shut up the damn pessimistic low-data-speeds n00bies about Sprint's network never amounting to anything...
wait... who am I kidding

Mine varies a lot, even in the same location. Right now I am pulling around 500 kbps down and 100 kbps up each test,
Five minutes ago I was getting to 1.2 - 1.5 mbps down, 200 - 250 kbps up

must have hit one of those pockets earlier....

I'm still getting miserable speeds in central Minnesota.

im in south florida, a huge market, and sometimes in the middle of the day i cant get more than .15 kbps. absolutely atrocious. saw pictures of NV towers starting to pop up in south Miami.

In Philly with my OG Evo yesterday I was getting 1.7 mbps down, ~1 mpbs up on 3G. Activated my LTEVO today and was getting between 20 kpbs - 150 kbps down and 200-500 kbps up for a few hours. Pathetic. I couldn't load Google Maps or anything. Called Sprint to report it and got cut off during the call (never had time to call back). They said they were about to send an update to my phone. Guess that didn't happen. I'm getting around 500-600 kpbs down now, still 1/3rd the speed of 3G on my OG Evo.
Maybe I should have held off the upgrade...

With a 90ms ping I tried wireless tethering and was able to play games perfectly fine. Btw I'm in Naperville

this is right next to my new totally awesome Airrave :banghead:

People will post if they want to - probably is quite because there has already been a lot of discussion of speeds.
Man, what the hell is going on with Sprint's 3g latley... I know they have alot of new members but still, it should not have this bad of an impact.
It must be there network. At my house using my airave I just got 2.5Mbps. At work where I have a good signal I was getting between .25 - .5Mbps.
If it was the radio I would probably get slow speeds on my airave as well. At least that is what I would assume.
These speeds are with the 3g proxy fix.....
I didn't see a big difference with the fix. But my ping increase 10th fold with the fix...meaning the connection was worse. So I went back to original. I doubt sprint put the proxies just to slow the phone down...they are competing with other providers in terms of 3g network speed.
I agree network must be having problems. My fiancees EVO scores same as my 3vo. At apartment we always get 700 kbs to 1.3 mbs. Lately we lucky to 100 kbs downloads

You realize your airave uses your home internet?
I get between 5-10mbs down and about 1-2 up on 4g. On 3g I get between 100kbs -1.5mbs down depending on the signal level. 100-500kbs upload. I live in huntsville and decatur al.

I mean unofficial by unannounced by sprint but shows on clearwire coverage map,
good speeds though right?
3G: 1.16Mbps / 0.60Mbps
4G: 4.56Mbps / 1.63Mbps
WiFi: 6.91Mbps / 3.43Mbps
These are all 4g (Charlotte, NC)
And the bottom four are 3g. They were horrible that whole day.
The one I just ran was 1075kbps and 363kbps which could still be better.
On another note, I noticed when I left 4g on, it didn't drain my battery the way I thought it would. I suppose it was since it was connected the whole time and not scanning for it.
Gotta love WiMax in these parts. I remember last year around this time when 8Mbps was my peak speed.
Test Date: Jul 28, 2011 2:58:08 pm
Connection Type: EvdoA
Server: Dallas, TX

This is pretty good for 3pm! My 3vo was dragging the first week i bought it but now it seems to be better. I think it was a network issue as well. I hope so cuz the phone is solid other than the data issues.

R.I.P. HD2 hello EVO 3D!!

sprints 3G network..

whys everyone complain so much? I just did some tests on 3G, was getting 1.8mps 1.7mps 1.8mps download and around 1-1.5 upload with just above 100ping, hell i can game on that all I want. at my friends apartment we play gears of War online using my photon, i get around 250 ping there but there is NO lag in game. and it only used like 60kbps? small huh?
edit- and people complain about the 4G.. now I understand for the people that don't have it but in laurel mississippi/kansas city ANYWHERE I go (especially kansas city) i have 2-full 4G bars and in Kansas City I have coverage an hour away from the actual city in any direction
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
lucky you.
i get a ping of 500-700 down of 175-300 kbps and upload of 400-600kbps
whats worse is with 4g i get about a ping of 300-320 download is 800kbps to 1700kbps and upload is 100-300kbps and this is not peak time where i live. during peak time 4g is worse than 3g.
My speed has be improving
1mb up 400 KB down 300 ping though

i got 1.12Mbps down and .65Mbps up with 240 ping. to seatle server. and thats on my airave....
and its not my isp because on my comp i get over 30mbps down and over 4mbps up
What speeds do other carriers get? I tested Verizon's before 4g ever came out and it was close to 3 mbps
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
Sprints speeds are by far the worst in the industry. Their equipment sucks, their service sucks and they are so far behind it's a joke. I just did a speed test and got 475 kbps down and 550 kbps up. Thats a complete joke in Phoenix Az. I would test 4g but oh yeah, Sprint never gave it to us here like we were promised.
Yesterday I got 2.35 down and .85 up. And I get a steady 1.89 down and 1.07 up.

Yeah here on the armpit of Texas I get 50/80 down and even less up no 4g and seemingly no promise of 4g but yet those bas#@%#! Charge me 10$ a month for it if verizon wasn't so damn expensive I would have jumped ship already

well I'm living in the areas with the upgrades nd what not, they have amazing 4G and 3G so I'd just wait, personally I think sprint is making it ahead of the game in the long run.. they already have future plans for lte-advance deployment after the LTE deployment..
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
What are you guys using to read those speeds???
Mopho....
The obvious reason that people complain is because not everyone is capable of getting those speeds via 4g must less 3g. If I could get 500 up and down on 3g on a regular basis I would probably be happy. As it stands I'm lucky to get a quarter of that.
Its great you have good speeds, but you should realize you are in the extreme minority when it comes to Sprint customers.

The problem with all this is that it's the future, and promises. The reason i switched to Sprint was 4g. But still don't have it. 2 years of waiting. They need to catch up now, or people will jump ship.

I envy all of you for being happy with those awful speeds. I left 8-10 mbps on tmo to come in and max out at 500kbps on sprint on a good day. I suck it up because this is the best phone ever.
Sent from my MoPho using the XDA Premium app
As long as I get 1 mbps down I'm happy. I don't see the need to have 10-40mbps download speeds on a cell phone. I could care less about 4g, I rarely used it anyway. I've gotten as high as 2 mbps on sprints 3g and that was more than enough speed.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
I get 2.55 down 0.33 up.. In maricopa Az .. But idk if the airave have any play to the speeds
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I would be content with 2mb, but it's hard to watch Netflix or youtube with a couple hundred kb.
Sent from my MoPho using the XDA Premium app
It all depends on where you're at, how good the Sprint coverage is, and how heavily taxed the network is.
Chicagoland USED to be fantastic, but it has suffered dramatically over the course of the last year.
I live in chandler...4g in the area and my speeds r double

I travel often to remote locations. I must say, some pretty random cities/towns have lte coverage. I personally live in the ny metropolitan area and in my home I only get like 4 Mbps down on lte. In detroit (a ghost town)I got almost 30, in aurora ohio I was getting 24 down, in summerville sc I was also getting about 24 down. It kind of upsets me that I live in a metropolis with either a crowded 4g network or just plain slow. There are areas in the ny area where I get really fast connection speeds. Not in my house though.

LTE near Chicago

So I was out in Hammond, IN yesterday (about 20 min outside of Chicago) celebrating the 4th with family, and noticed LTE was live in the area. I did several speedtests and was pretty pleased with the results. Averaged about 16-17Mbps and topped out at 22Mbps.
If Chicago proper can consistently hold even half those speeds, once it's live, I'll be a happy man.
These tests were done indoors too, so it seems that 1900MHz frequency does alright inside.
I'm impressed.
Sweet i'm excited road trip this weekend!!!
I thought that Chicago was going to get LTE after all of the suburbs too, so that means they must be making good headway in this area. I personally cannot wait until I can pull down 10 Mbps whenever I need...

The LTE radio doesn't really drain your battery, might as well leave it on. That way you'll know when you hit LTE.

I don't think any part of the city will start seeing any LTE until sometime mid-late August. Once they hit Evanston, Skokie, Calumet City etc., I think we'll start getting reports of people jumping on within city limits. Just my prediction though.

When I leave it on, it can't maintain a 3G signal when I'm at work. I've also found no statistically significant change in data speeds by turning "LTE/CDMA" off. Battery drain wasn't my concern, but I appreciate the response.

Insane 4G speed (Post your 4G speeds!)

Coming from a galaxy nexus which had kinda meh 4G speeds, my 4G speeds on the N3 are insane.
I take my son to/from school every day and it's only about 3 minutes down the road. When I'm there waiting to pick him up in the afternoons I've been doing some speed tests. In that specific location I've been getting crazy speed readings. I tried a few diff servers with similar results. There must be a tower literally right there.
These are my two fastest results. The faster result is about 7 MEGABYTES per sec. That's pretty crazy. I pay $39/month for my home cable broadband, and that's only 10 Mbps, which is only about 1 MB/s. lol, sad.
It's not a false reading either. Just to confirm I downloaded a few apps, and sure enough a 13MB app downloaded in about 2 seconds.
Anyone else getting speeds like this??

Back when I got my first 4g phone I got something like 40up 60down at SEATAC airport. About 40 and 40 at denver airport. Had to run the test a few times before I believed I was actually getting those speeds. Which brings up the interesting point of data caps and just how stupidly fast you can pass them with these speeds -_-
Eh, Speedtest timed out trying to find a server in downtown San Francisco. Is that the apps' fault or is something else awry?
Finally connected: 1.01 mbps down, .08 mpbs up.
Called the local corporate store in downtown SF, their service department is booked solid for the whole day...I wonder why.
