Does anyone know how I can disable the FastDormacy Service on the GSIII? (Since it is giving me Wakelocks)
The Service-Menue *#9900# does not allow it (has no entry for FastDormacy). In TitaniumBackup I cannot find the corresponding service.... any clue about the naming or how I can disable it?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone got an idea? As much as I read on the Internet the service called multipdp and secril_fd-interface are somehow correlated with this issue. Both services show up on better battery stats but I am unable to find them either on my phone via root explorer nor via titanium backup. :-(

You can add "ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0" minus the quotes to the bottom of the build.prop
This performs the same action as the missing dialer code.
*requires root
Here goes...
[1]Open ES File Explorer and Navigate up to /system
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
[2]find "build.prop" and press and hold
[3]Open as text
[4]choose ES text editor
[5]add the line in the picture "ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0" minus the quotes *watch out, predictive texts sucks while doing this
[6]save and reboot

*initially tried to edit with Astro but it kept derping on me so I switched to ES File Explorer which worked fine. Note you have to go into ES File Explorer settings and check off "root access"
Sorry for the massive ass screen shots...
Cool! Seems to work! Thx
Glad to help

More or less battery drain depends on whether your carriers network infrastructure supports Fast Dormacy or not.

Vodafone in Italy? does it supports fd?
I tried this but it doesn't seem to have disabled Fast Dormancy, I still get secril_fd-interface generating Kernel Wakelocks according to BetterBatteryStats.
Not sure if maybe having a CSC from a different Telco is somehow enabling Fast Dormancy. Is there any other way to disable it?
Can anyone else confirm whether doing this removed the Kernel Wakelocks for secril_fd-interface ?

It appears not to, no. I'm trying to see if there is something in the CSC that perhaps is conflicting though.
same situation for me on Telias network in Sweden.... betterbaterystats shows 6% in both case (with and without tweaking)
I found a thread in the SII forums that might be helpful in figuring this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1086599
I did some testing. I modified build.prop, rebooted and let the phone lay on the table for 1h :
Untweaked/no entry -> 4-5% Battery drain per hour deep sleep
Setting ...rule=0 -> 4-5% Battery drain per hour deep sleep
Setting ...rule=1 -> ~1% Battery drain per hour deep sleep
BadAssBattery estimated duration went from 18:00h up to 64:00h
- =0 or no tweak is the same for me
- So it seems to me that FD is disabled by default (no entry in build.prop).
- Cell Standby goes up to 70% when set =1, but drain goes down. So all the complaint about high cell standy value is pure BS!!
I'm still not sure whether 1 = enabled or disabled, since I always disabled it on my S2 by dialing *#9900# ?!?
any updates? the above method doesn't work. getting lots of the dreaded secril_fd-interface as well

On average I lose 1% battery a hour with screen off. In good wifi/cell reception that is.
What do you folks do?
advance task manager works great, set it up to kill all apps at screen lock
1% an hour sounds about right. I'm not sure you're going to get much better than that. You could check out the battery drainers thread for info on finding wakelocks.

seem to help mine....
Its been discussed a number of times in various battery related threads. The issue is that you end up killing a lot of tasks the phone needs, so it has to restart them all the time, which is less efficient than leaving them running. If you have a rogue app draining your battery becuase it isn't shutting down there are better ways to deal with it.
Is this 1% an hour drain with the radio on or off? Ill have to check what mine gets with it on, but when i turn my radio off i get 1% drain every 4 or 5 hours

Bro, Seems like there is cell data been transferred when your phone is with screen off.
Awake (): 5 h 43 m 57 s (20637 s) Ratio: 94.5%
Screen On (): 1 h 12 m 49 s (4369 s) Ratio: 20.0%
This should ideally be equal, if you are not listening to music or downloading something with your screen off.
Do the following :
1. Remove the apps Social Hub with titanium backup
2. Uncheck Settings > Wifi Network > Mobile networks > USe packet data
3.Uncheck Location and security > a. USe wireless networks b. USe GPS satellites
and see if you are still getting the battery drain.
4. Uncheck Accounts ans sync > a.Background data b. Auto Sync
5. Goto market settings uncheck Google Admobile ads
Check if you are still getting the battery drains.
Hope this helps!

Just wipe cache and Dalvik cache from recovery and check if you are still having drain! If not try removing all the recently installed apps and check again.I believe one of the apps is trying to sync and keeping the phone awake.

is it by any chance the new facebook app (looks more like the real facebook now?) I read quite many posts in regards to the partial wakelocks and the new facebook was one of them. The updated version is running a service that never lets the phone go to deep sleep. Search market for CPUspy (free) and it will show you what states your phone goes into for how long. Reset the stats before you go to sleep and wait overnight. Your phone should be around 90% or more in deep-sleep mode. If not, something does not let it go to deep sleep. I had the same problem, I'm currently running my phone for 1d6hrs with 50% of battery life still on it. I did a test and what I think based on BBS and CPUspy it was either the facebook app or SetCPU. During the night the phone was awake almost all the time along with the screen (even tho I was sleeping!). Another thing I noticed is that you have quite a high count on AlarmManager wakelock - that is a service used by many apps and that actually does not tell much unless you connect your phone to PC and extract the data from alarms. don't get confused, this is not your Alarm Clock, it's just a service that wakes up your phone at a scheduled time to check for updates. To check how long is the phone awake and difference after you've done some troubleshooting is under menu > more. It will show nice graphs.
In my case, my phone is rooted, running Criskelo v38, Siyah Kernel 2.6.7.. I uninstalled all app killers, stopped using FB app, switched off automated updates (checking if there are any updates from Market) and stopped using setCPU because Siyah 2.6.7 implemented new ondemand governor which merged ondemandX with lulzactive (not sure about the second governor now). Therefore all other governors became redundant. It sorted my problem with battery drain. Hope this helps a bit.
-EDIT-:
Sorry, Just noticed you already have CPUspy. Can you please submit a screenshot of the stats it's showing?
Btw i have the original battery with the original capacity of 1600 mAh

Ever since I installed JB (4.1.1) I have noticed a decrease in life. You probably heard this story before.
The native Battery consumption app shows Android OS uses most energy, followed by Device Idle.
So I installed BetterBatteryStats to have a look.
These screenshot is from this morning. Left the phone overnight untouched (from 12 am on).
Note:
My settings are the same as they were before the JB upgrade. And I use the phone the same way.
No Data Connection?
Why does it seems to be looking for a signal? Is that cell signal? I am in full signal area.
I use T-Mo and my area gets HSPA+.
I have Settings > Wireless and networks> Mobile Networks > Network Mode set to GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode). Leave is as is?
The second most energy consuming is WiFi. I always left is on before the upgrade. It probably always used this much but now it's worse?

Your android OS is consuming waaaaaaay to much power it should be between 7-12%. I'd reflash stock ROM and go from their buddy. Also, wipe your battery stats.

Thank you for responding.
What falls under Android OS?
I use a live wallpaper (Alive Wallpaper in the Play Store from http://alivewallpaper.co) and the screen is off when I am not using the phone.
Is the video wallpaper using power even when the phone is sleeping (or supposed to be)?
Edit: how do I reset my battery stats in the native app? There is no contextual menu.
Its just the processes that fall within android OS....stuff you have no control over

Do you did a battery recalibration?After flash a new ROM is a must.
Battery calibration using this method right?
1. Use your phone till it shuts off
2. Before charging it turn it back on and do it again.
3. With the phone off plug it in and recharge it overnight or atleast 6-8 hours.
4. Turn it on and and use Battery Calibration - by NéMa.
5. Use the phone till it dies again and then recharge and use phone as you normally would.

Rather than disabling Google Now. Do this
Disable Maps, Whatsapp, Facebook. They all run in background. Use App Quarantine to quickly enable disable when issue required.
Enable mobile network location access.
Also restrict background data of apps that ate high in usage which could cause wake locks.
Google now knows where you are without Maps running, just NetworkLocationService under Google Services in running apps.
Use other battery conserving precautions in conjunction.
You could potentially go for days depending on your usage

Hi
I have a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 running on WanamLite XXELKC V5.1.
I just put this new ROM in recently. But now I notice that my battery is getting drained faster than before. The stock battery stats shows that google services is the major contributor.
Any ideas ?
try to disable google now's features.. just open google now and then his settings..
if you have your s3 rooted, you might just delete/move the apps from /system/app folder to your sdcard,
i moved a lot of apps that were consuming battery and now its better so... just another way

Turn off WiFi location access as when that's on maps will run in background as well as network location service.
Disable apps that run all the time (facebook, Whatsapp). I use App Quarantine to do this, places a widget where you can click to disable, clock to enable +open.
Reduce auto sync apps and their frequency. I generally only have gmail auto.
Before leaving your phone to sleep for 10+ minutes, kill background processes. Majority of the time my ruining apps is ONLY Android Keyboard, (set CPU if I feel like using profiles).

Firstly you should post better results than that screenshot which should be for 1 cycle and use better battery stats to show what your phone is using
keep it on for 4-5 hours on standby after giving root permission and then check in partial wakelocks and kernel wakelocks..

Here's a thing. Are you on 3G? Because I can see that you have a bad network? Try to switch to 2g and check. The yellow line in network show that there are network breaks. It could be a reason for battery drain.
How old is your battery? Use Better battery stats or wakelock detector from Play store and check what the problem is. You can post a screen shot after one complete cycle.
Is Sync enables on your device?
Reboot your phone once before trying all this.
