[ROM] Galaxy S II HD SHV-E120L ROM with working SMS - Galaxy S II Android Development

Disclaimer: Everything you flash and modify at your own risk.
At first: my recovery.
The only custom recovery i could find for E120L is from Tegrak.
Unfortunatelly it's too buggy and couldn't install any of my updates.
That's why i've made my own recovery. So, to install my ROM, you need to flash my recovery. It covers functionality of Tegrak's recovery.
- based on official UE11 (Android 4.0.3) recovery
- adbd starts as root
- local (independed from system's) busybox.
- independent from main system partition and boot image. So, you can still use my recovery if system partition is broken.
- verification of signature has been patched out. So, you can install any hand-made zip.
E120L_recovery_by_sorg_v2.zip
Unzip it and Flash TAR file in Odin as PDA part.
To enter recovery mode:
1) Turn phone OFF
2) Press VolUp + VolDown + Power buttons at the same time
3) Keep buttons pressed till "SAMSUNG" word disappear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my version of ROM for E120L.
- based on E120L UE11
- English (default) and Korean languages.
- deodexed/zipaligned
- rooted (SuperSU 0.89)
- adbd starts in root mode.
- busybox
- fast dormancy off
- SMS send/receive of any lenght (both ANSI and Unicode) should work (see descripion below)
- SMS application replaced to customized one from i9100.
- added + to button 0 in dialer
- removed video call unavailability notification icon from status bar
- boot/shutdown animations/sounds are taken from E120S (original were too boring)
There was no intention to clean ROM from Korean bloatware. The main purpose of my ROM is to make this phone working. When main functionality will start to work as in normal phone (especially SMS functions) then it's possible to clean it.
flash procedure:
1) Put this E120L_UE11_v5b_by_Sorg.zip to MicroSD
2) insert MicroSD to your E120L and boot into recovery (my recovery) mode.
3) choose "apply update from external storage" and choose E120L_UE11_v5b_by_Sorg.zip
4) go back to main recovery menu and then choose "wipe data/factory reset". Note: you HAVE to do this in order to make my ROM work correctly. It doesn't matter which ROM you've used before. Even after stock UE11 you have to wipe the data.
5) choose "reboot system now"
First boot will take some time. Be patient
About SMS: For me it works fine now. I can send any length of SMS with both ANSI and Unicode encodings. Also i can receive SMS with any length and with correct caller id.
Thats was the main purpose of creating this ROM.
But, some users reported they still cannot send SMS... Currently i have not much details to figure out where is the problem.
So, try my ROM and tell if SMS functions are working for you or not.
Download:
E120L_UE11_v5c_by_Sorg.zip
E120L_UE11_v6.1_by_Sorg.zip
Changelog:
v6.1:
- cleaned from bloatware
- better fix for SMS. Now should work without problems with any 3rd party SMS app.
- GO Launcher Ex as a main launcher
- 15 configurable toggles (QuickPanel Settings)
- Circle Battery mod
- Extended Power Menu
- Some tweaks in Recent menu (long click on Home button)
- LGU Hidden menu doesn't require password
- MyPhoneNumber Utility
- Boot/Shutdown animations from SGS3
- some other fixes
This version is still based on UE11 ROM as a stable and well explored by me.
I don't have SHV-E120L anymore (traded it to SHV-E210K), so this is my last ROM for SHV-E120L.
v5c:
- missed SMS didn't shown on lockscreen
- added correct AMSS and MDM parts to ROM to make sure modem version compatible with ROM version.
v5b:
- first release.
P.S.:
If you cannot send SMS then it's because your SIM-card has no "my phone number".
Install attached MyPhoneNumber (v6.1 already includes it) utility and write your own number there (starting with +). Number will be saved to your SIM-card and SMS will start to work.
P.P.S.: Some users complain for bad GPS. In case you have this problem, you may download attached GPS fix. Install it through recovery.

I don't accept requests for adding/removing applications.
But bugreports are welcome!

Eager to know how this ROM turns out. My friend (who bought my E120L) is eager to get on ICS - I just need a rom that's stable so i can flash it for her.
Quick question - do other SMS apps work?

I've tried Go SMS. Works on my phone.

How do we boot into your recovery? The same as Tegraks? Volume up+down and power?

Yes. It's standard way to boot into recovery. It's been made by Samsung, not by Tegrak
btw, please don't overquote messages.

OK thanks.

This is Cool!
I am using E120L too!

Stay tuned!

Thank you for your contribution Sorg!

Sorg you did a great job. Unfortunately as a shv- e120k user i cannot flash your rom to my device. I recently tried to install the sms application from gt- I9100 to my device. But I could not suceed to run it. Can you tell me how you did it?
Thanks

You misunderstood my post. SMS application alone won't fix the issue. I did many other changes. It cannot be simply transferred to another ROM...

Hi,
no multilanguage ?
Thanks !

so with this rom 4g or is that hardware related

Can we use this recovery with 120k?

thanks alot sorg for this rom ... now my e120l is working perfectly.... the only thing i noticed that is not working is the msg delivery report (it is not a big deal ) from both stock app and even from gosms

so, you can send and receive SMS of any length?
Of so, then it's good. At least it works not only for me, but also for someone else
Actually, i never used delivery report. I may look into this problem, but not sure if i will be able to fis it.
Anyway, it's not a big deal if won't work

if someone have problem with SMS, then:
1) check Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> My Phone Number. Do you see your phone number there?
2) In contacts application, click Set up profile (Me) and write your mobile number there (in international form, starting with + sign). Restart phone and try SMS again.

Dear Sorg
Will you consider port S3 ROM (Multilingual with cool features) to E120L?

nope. They are completely different devices. Samsung apps tied to framework, while framework tied to native libraries (/system/lib), but native libraries are platform depended and cannot be transferred from S3 to S2 HD.
May be port of S3 LTE to S2 HD will be possible since both platform are similar (not the same though) - Quallcomm Snapdragon. But again, not much hope there.

Samsung NFC i9100p model

Hi,
I just thought to start a thread for people that own the UK Orange Galaxy SII NFC Edition (Model GT-I9100p). Had this phone for a little over 2 weeks now and learned a lot from both XDA and sammobile. Okay here are my experiences so far:
The phone that I have comes with Android version 2.3.4 and has Orange applications pre-installed.
What I have been able/unable to do?
Able to root using DooMLoRD v4 exploit - yes!
Able to debrand uninstall Orange Apps using Titanium - yes! ( BUT not the logo at startup though)
Able to use CWM recovery - no! Not unless you are willing to put an insecure Kernel that is and then lose functionality of the NFC. There are some threads that post an NFCEnabler.zip file that you can flash post installation of the insecure Kernel but my experience has been giving me errors when I try to turn NFC on so it's a no go if one wants to keep NFC.
So far the above list is things possible using the orignal ROM that is branded with Orange.
The next thing I have been able to do is install 2.3.6 Samsung stock ROM (list of ROMs found at sammobile.com) - however as this is for the non NFC version you lose that functionality. Also DooMLord exploit does not work with this version so no root (haven't tried any other methods - if anyone else has feel free to update the thread). I have also installed 4.0.3 ICS from sammobile.com but found this a tad buggy (mainly Kernel Panics) - and again no NFC.
A caveat for anyone planning to venture down that route beware, if you want to go back to Orange stock ROM you will get errors stating Cannot mount /efs and /cache directory(ies) etc - took me a while to figure this out but you can get your original Orange rom back if you use Odin3 v1.85 check Re-Partition, Auto-Reboot, F-Reset Time, use a PIT file (I used u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4) and the Orange stock ROM (again found at sammobile).
So at the moment I am back with the original Orange ROM as I want to have NFC.
I hope this is useful and would be happy to create a thread of Q&A for owners of the NFC GT-I9100p edition.
Cheers,
J
Thanks for the info, I'm using the same model, I've rooted using doom lords v4, and disabled some of the orange bloatware using nobloat,
however I can't find orange backup to disable it, I network unlocked my phone to use giffgaff instead so don't want this to run after each reboot, the only orange app left on the systems app list is signal boost which when disabled messes up the phone, maybe orange apps, games and back up is built into this our something, because I can't seem to find them on the list..
Did you remove signal boost?
Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk
The fact is that you can flash any i9100 Custom Rom on the i9100p...The only inconvenient being that you'll lose NFC...which is not a big deal anyway as there is barely nothing you can do with it...at the current time
I no I can flash any rom/kernel I am happy with rooted stock tho because I keep NFC and tv out via mhl. I just want to no how he removed orange backup and orange app store?

Hi - no I left signal boost just in case I need it (as I am using both Orange and T-Mobile sim cards at the moment). Since my last post I have actually removed a few more apps using Titanium - I removed the backup and orange using the same method. One thing though, when I removed the Orange Home Selector app I got a boot loop and had to do a reset in recovery 3e (& had to reinstall my apps) but then funny thing after that the home selector app is no longer there - I am guessing Titanium removed it from the actual ROM and upon reset it is no longer there?
The only Orange branded things I have now on the phone are the Orange Internet icon for the web browser, Signal Boost and the annoying splash animation when booting up/down the phone.

If you want you could also change the boot animation to the original SGS2 one or a custom. Details are within the forum.
Sweet - thanks for that
I followed this article here and I used the bootanimation.zip file for the boot up and the shutdown.zip for the boot down & works perfectly - thanks again for the heads up!
UPDATE: Do not remove Home Screen Selector app
A little more info on removing Orange apps:
I did this (removed Orange Home Screen) and just found out that any launcher installed thereafter (Tried ADW and Go) makes the phone reboot into a loop and can't get passed the samsung logo animation....I even tried other home launcher managers from the App Store to the same effect!
PS you can fix the loop by going into recovery (3e) and rest all data etc

OP:
Let me get this straight... you flashed a standard I9100 firmware (in other words, NOT an I9100P firmware... I9100 firmwares DON'T support NFC), then attempted to flash just a kernel to try to get NFC back?
I'm about 90% certain on this: NFC support is NOT in the kernel. If you remain on your stock i9100P firmware, you can flash whatever kernel you want that supports an I9100 (including insecure rooting kernels, Siyah, SpeedMod - whatever), and you should not lose NFC.
Well I thought so too but after flashing an insecure kernel (the one I tried was GT-I9100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_4.0.0.2.tar which contains a zImage file inside) the NFC option disappeared from under Wireless & Networks. Then I tried the NFCEnabler.zip option to bring it back and did get it back but could not enable it as I was getting an Error Occurred message.

Where did you get that tar? Based on the name of the tar, it sounds like it's just cwm recovery... So you never tried a CF-root kernel?

Everything I got is from various threads here on XDA (apart from the offical ROMs which I got from sammobile) - maybe it wasn't a kernel...I did try another zImage which was meant to be the Orange France NFC Kernel (again downloaded from a thread on XDA - filename KERNEL_I9100PBVVKI2) and even with that NFC was not there...I am staring to think I should have gotten a non NFC phone... ;-)
Hi all. I have just received one of these after many years as an iPhone user. So i am a total newbie to Android.
Ok i do not want to mess about with my phone at the moment. I wondered if any of you have any idea for a workaround for the problem i am having with KEIS.
I have installed KEIS and i want to run (store) Samsung Apps. Problem i am getting is
"This device is not supported by Samsung Apps, View compatibility list".
I look in the list and select Galaxy SII GT-I9100. But still no use. So i am at a loss. I guess this may have to do with me having the I9100P NFC from Orange.
I would appreciate any assistance please.
Many thanks
Tony
IMO Kies is total piece of cr*p - don't really use it but I have just connected it and I get 'Samsung Apps cannot be run - Please try again later'. Sorry I can't help further with that.
PS you know you can use the Samsung Apps application installed already on the phone if you want apps from there?

But didn't I see somewhere that you already flashed a non i9100p ROM? If so, no kernel is going to bring it back. Nfc.apk is probably gone, and needs to be put back. There's an nfc enabler out there that does that.

Okay, originally I flashed a non i9100p and yes lost NFC. I then tried the NFC.apk and did get it back but was getting error occurred when trying to enable the tick box under the wireless settings.
Then I found the original Orange i9100p ROM (on sammobile) installed that, got NFC back but I also wanted to have clockworkmod recovery and not the samsung 3e one and that's when I tried what I thought was the insecure kernel (the CWM file in my first reply) but lost NFC totally after applying that. I then tried the Orange France kernel (also a zImage) and that did not bring it back either. That's where I stopped trying anything else.

What version is your "original Orange i9100p ROM"?
I'd say you need to flash back to your original Orange i9100p ROM, then flash the closest CF-Root kernel to that version. This should retain NFC, give you root, and install CWM all at the same time.
Hi Guys,
I only got this phone today (orange UK version).
I've spent hours on the forum trying to find some guides on how to root my phone and flash clean rom. There seems to be just way too much info for me.
Can you please point me into the right direction?
All I want is to root, remove simlock and flash a standard non-orange ROM.
Thanks
Pete

This is sweet, good job!!
I followed instructions to the letter. Seemed to flash fine but it is now sitting at the black Samsung screen screen for about 20 minutes. How long has it taken for 1st boot? Tried re-flashing, clearing cache, etc.
change your kernel to rj's kernel and flash again.
rj's kernel says it is for International SGP not US. My SGP is US so I am not sure if this kernel will work.

figured it out. i have a USA device as well and had the same issue. It was also strange as to why the flashing process only took like 5 seconds....
i flashed rj's kernel (so my buttons stopped working) then i restarted recovery just so the changes get applied. then i proceeded to flash miui. just make sure in the install options you selection USA keyboard patch and the install process should take much longer (that means its working) and bam.
EDIT: ok so the buttons light up but they still don't work. after booting to miui and sat at the homescreen for a minute or two, reboot and flash entropy's kernel.

Are you saying that after you re-flashed entropy's kernel the buttons work? Also, have you checked to see if the GPS works?
i flashed entropy's kernel after miui successfully boot up in order to get my buttons to work again, so yes

Yeah, I just flashed it a little while ago. Everything looks really good expect for a few small problems (as you mention) which I can live with but I really need the GPS to work to consider this my dailer driver. Here's to hoping someone can get it fixed.

Anyone know how to get the GPS working?
So after a couple of hours searching the web, it may be that the GPS problem is inherent in MIUI 2.3.

I must say the flashing method is way better then qualcomm, despite the support being far more limited. I have only one request, and I would be happy to contribute where and when I can. That request is to unlock basebands 2 and 4. I live in the US and my network connection is the worst I have ever seen. I am limited to a tertiary channel band support from ALL US service providers. It really sucks, I am lucky when the connection exceeds 80kbs, I haven't had a connection this slow since dial-up. Most apps like maps and weather do not even sync on the mobile network I can only use them on wifi. Please help.

Is this the rom that it came with when you bought it?
Have you tried flashing a stock rom through SP Flash Tool? It sounds like a bug from your rom, if it's 6752 it has to be octa core, 6732 is quad core.

Yes, but you have to have a custom recovery to flash most of them.
Lenovo K3 Note "CWM/TWRP" ROM Install
Forgive me if this is not the place to ask, but ..... I found "Stock ROMs - Downloads and Tutorials" on reddit.com and the CWM/TWRP installation instructions are a bit different :
Extract the downloaded zip file.
Transfer extracted files onto your device/sdcard.
Boot into Custom Recovery mode.
Use the "Restore Backup" function with the extracted files.
Wipe you Data and Dalvik Cache partition.
Reboot.
..... comared to this (for example) :
Download the custom ROM copied to an external SD card root directory
While holding down:
– Power button + volume button up, to enter the recovery mode.
– Wipe Data / Factory Reset -> delete all user data
– Wipe Cache Partition -> Wipe cache
– Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
Return to recovery main interface Install zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard --> Select your ROM
The "Restore Backup vs Install zip from sdcard" & "Wipe you Data and Dalvik Cache partition vs Wipe Data / Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache"
Is there a difference and why or is it just me? I just want to do it right. Thanks!
Which one is the best ?
I already flashed my Indian ROM using the SP Flash tool and have TWRP custom recovery installed and its working fine.....due to which I was able to change the screen density to 320 from the default by editing the built.prop.....but I am still not able to use xposed framework and viper4android fx...Can you suggest the rom which has these features along with the default ones ? Also the Dolby atmos does not work with any other music player than Google play music...I hope you can throw some light on this
Hello,
I would like to install this rom LiMoNcHeLo NovAMoD MDSTeam VibeAosP, which hackerpower himself is using atm.
But first I have a question about CWM recovery. Yesterday I flashed the CWM from kangel (official thread on k3 note), but I would like to flash the CWM by rootjunky. Can I just flash it via ADB fastboot like I did before or could I get problems flashing CWM over an existing CWM?
Another question that just came up, cause I just read about it in hackerpowers profile - xposed mod/framework - do I have to flash it at the same time I flash the rom or can I use the rom for a few weeks and then decide to flash xposed onto it?
Thank you very much!
And thank you hackerpower for the great work!

Dolby atmos works universally with any app. If you are speaking about poweramp, disable the Direct Volume control (DVC) under Audio settings of poweramp

Just to try and explain the methods you've listed:
#1 Someone has installed a ROM; and perhaps rooted it and added some scripts, mods etc. and then they have backed up this ROM in custom recovery and they've packed up and uploaded this backup (you will need to use the same recovery - and the files will need to be added to the same folder on the sdcard (TWRP/backup/ for example).
#2 Is a zipped ROM with a META-INF folder that tells the recovery what to do with the included files (system, boot (data) etc.)
#2 is preferred as it isn't dependant on a specific type of recovery...

Xposed works on 5.0, links in my sig.
Never liked viper4android.
Dolby works with everything, maybe you uninstalled something you shouldn't have.

You can flash any recovery over another one, no problem. There are many recoveries that don't backup/restore properly be careful, and use the one's posted.
You can install/uninstall xposed framework whenever you want, after the first boot will take a long time.
Hi
Iam using this phone from 2 weeks.I flashed the indian Rom but i still have battery draining problem . I lose the full charge after 10 hours of normal use. The battery draining in this phone is very strange and i have never seen like it.
Well i am asking if there is a Rom that manages the battery backup in the best way.And Also the free Ram i am gotting in opening this phone is about 800 mb wich is strange also.

Install cpu spy plus and monitor the frequency. I believe your device is not going to deep sleep mode.
Also if no deep sleep install another app better battery stat and check the partial and kernel wakelock when not using the device. Try airplane mode and repeat above process. Finally if it doesn't figured, it is hardware problem, get it replaced

So just to make sure I'm goint to do the right steps in the right order:
After I installed the CWM recovery like rootjunky did in the video you linked in your description, I will do the follwing:
1. Make sure battery is fully charged and boot into recovery
2. backup and restore - backup
3. wipe cache partition
4. advanced - wipe dalvik cache
5. wipe data/factory reset
6. install zip from sdcard (LiMoNcHeLo NovAMoD MDSTeam VibeAosP - gapps already included, so there's no need to flash any gapps.zip)
7. the rom description says root 100%, do I need to flash SuperSU.zip at this point then?
8. restart - enjoy
Lenove K3 note Model K50a40 GPS not working properly
Last month I brought Lenove k3 note in india from Flipkart.
Following is my device information.
Model Number : Lenove K50a40
BaseBand Version :K50a40.LWG.V37,2015/05/21 09:44,2015/05/21 09:44
BuildNumber: K50a40_S117_150706_row
I am facing issue with GPS of this device. GPS is very inaccurate. GPS is quite slow to lock on, and seems to "try too hard" to maintain the lock. GPS position easily "dislocates" to the adjacent or another nearby road. With My old phone I was using Runtastic app and it was capturing distance correctly. Now it shows my location at random places and end up showing totally wrong map of my run session and distance estimates. I am highly disappointed from this phone due to this issue. Is there any fix for this issue?

1. Doesn't need to be fully charged, just don't have little like <20%
2. backup (boot, nvram, system, data)
3.4.5. advanced wipe (select everything except internal storage and sd card)
6.7.8 just flash rom, everything is already there, first boot takes a while.

Possibily well-explained way to get Marshmallow working...

Marshmallow for this device, keeps crashing as it is (com.android.phone, RIL). Getting the problem solved is easy, @puntoazul already written something like that, but I managed to get everything that has to be flashed in a single post.
Flash these files, in the next order, from top to bottom:
- A-GAPPS_6.0.1_09022016.zip - https://mega.nz/#!M99xiQbZ!fcclA9QDSXxxizsifu21MUbgMGsyRsNCCHPO4KrF5xQ (thanks to @puntoazul for packing it)
- APNFixer4CM13.zip - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3689957&d=1458482477 (thanks to @puntoazul for packing it)
- UNIVERSAL NFC DESTROYER - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3280610&d=1429942749 (thanks to @-CALIBAN666- for developing it), yeah, it's made for lollipop but works perfectly.
- Media.zip (codecs pack) http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3680746&d=1457817927 (thanks to @EdwinMoq for packing it.)
When you're done, do a factory reset and reboot your device. Then, enjoy Marshmallow .
EDIT: Media.zip seems to be a mistyped step, I haven't found it and it wasn't needed to get a successful startup on my device.
EDIT: It seems like it's needed, anyways, I haven't found it, waiting for @EdwinMoq to answer.
EDIT: Added Media.zip, found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...ogenmod-13-t3303671/post65803228#post65803228 ( @EdwinMoq 's post).

Ive been experiencing the same problems you have, but i found my own alternate way. Since this phone isnt my daily driver, i used lucky patcher to remove the phone services app aka com.android.phone from the system.Everything is fixed, all stabilized and smooth. I still get crashing from phone and messaging storage, but no lag or stability issues. But ill try this anyway to try to completely remedy the crashing
As only two entries for Orange seem to be missing in the APN database: Does everyone need that fix because the APN list is totally corrupted by this, or only certain Orange customers?

For a better stability, you must flash it. For example, running this ROM without this patch, the RIL keeps crashing, taking in mind that Movistar and Tuenti (a lesser know Argentina provider, a recently started provider), are not being detected.
I'll wait for the next build. Then probably use it as a Wireless AP, as there are huge problems resulting from the small data partition and Ram. I still hope that MMs z-buffer feature provides some solution. This whole mess started about half a year ago and getting worse, on the L9 and a similarly featured tablet with CM11, so it's not the rom's fault. The tablet has plenty of space on the data partition, however, but ram and SoC face similar problems.
My current wireless AP is an Iphone 4s with only 0,5GB Ram. And it's is still working reliably, no apps freezing and fcing, and I can access websites which will make Firefox on the L9 and said tablet quit every time.
All the affected apps seem to deal with HTML code and are supposed to use the system webview engine. Updating the Google webview engine is possible with CM12.1 and 13, but to no avail, only taking space on the data partition.

As i have previously explained in original thread all of these files in a single go. with order defined
1) Goto TWRP recovery can also use new TWRP 3.0.2.0 (i have already installed marshmallow without any errors)
2) Wipe system, Cache and Davic
3) Flash rom
4) Flash Media.zip
5) Flash A-GAPPS_6.0.1_09022016.zip
6) Flash APNFixer4CM13.zip
7) If you have a p768 flash campatch
Also flashed NFC Destroyer so that on booting for the first time... i did'n encountered any error at all.. i have been using this ROM as my daily driver and never encountered any kernel panic or ant other error also i didn't faced any rotation problem. its working fine as it should be. Only thing i am concerned about is battery, it drains very fast, tweaking with kernel auditor didn't help me either. other then this i haven't faced any problem, everything is working fine, i'm able to install Xposed framework without any problem.. Great work......
I have also tried this with New TWRP Recovery.... worked like a charm

The kernel panics that you're experiencing, are also being faced by most of the people who has tried the P760 build in the P769, please check the ROM @EdwinMoq 's post and download the special build for this model, and try again. Then, please tell me how it goes.

Well specifically, i used the p769 version. i tried apn fixer, nfc destroyer and media.zip, but the problem persisted. so i just reverted back to my nandroid backup in which i uninstalled com.android.phone aka phone services and disabled phone and messaging storage.I have it stable this way without kernel panics and using gapps mini since this isnt my daily driver. My galaxy core prime is SMG360T1.

That's quite strange, seems like a bad kernel. For me, using the P760 (in the P778g, Argentina, LATAM) works fine, both speakers (front and rear) and headphones.
When the headphone amp starts to clip/overdrive, this is accompanied by an unplugging event for the headphones. Artas' CM11 and CM12.1 are affected, too, but I could get my P760 to work with decent and stable sound output. While in Rammar's PA sound volume was even lower than with the stock rom(too low for even bothering to take the headphones with me) , CM12.1 is loudest. In order to not accidentially trip clipping and unplugging events, which will also reset volume to safety level, requiring to turn it up and clip again etc etc, Ilimited max volume to 80% in the Headset Button Controller app, which allows to control volume via headset mic button.

[ROM] G900P PK1 6.0.1 stock deodexed Marshmallow

Galaxy S5 MM 6.0.1 PK1 (Mostly) Stock Deodexed Rom
This build is based on the marshmallow stock G900PVPS3CPK1_G900PSPT3CPK1_SPR build.
This is a first release. Even though it has been tested, please report any issues.
Features:
- Rooted
- Busybox
- Hotspot enabled
- Knox Removed
- ItsOn Removed
- All toggles enabled including hotspot and flashlight
- Usb/battery popups removed
- Signature verification disabled
- .5 animation scales default
- Screen mirroring fix
- Usb debugging on by default
- Carrier label removed from statusbar
- Hidden menu hacked to allow use without prl. Prl write enabled, don't know if it still works on 6.0 though.
- Recovery & Download Mode added to stock reboot menu.
- private mode does not work (not really too interested in fixing it right now, the standard fix doesn't work)
- All apps updated, all stock apps included. Use debloat tool to remove Sprint bloat apps, even if they've taken updates. Only app I left behind is sprint zone because users are always asking for it.
Known Issues:
If you try to edit the toggles, flashlight will disappear.
There is nothing I can do about this right now.
To restore the stock toggles, wipe data on the Add Toggles app and reboot (I use Titanium backup).

Nice work!! Does the mini bootloader include modem too?
edit: already downloaded and check the file and the answer is yes.
Just to be clear, the mini bootloaders are for jumping back and forth between lollipop roms and marshmallow? Would this be flashed through Odin and then just boot into recovery to flash ROM of choice?

Yes. You have to flash those through Odin.
Has anyone else noticed HORRIBLE battery on pk1, vs say ok4 or pca?
Im on the stock pk1, not this version here. Just wondered if its just me, or if its everyone and maybe this is addressed in these roms posted here.
Thanks.
Thanks @tdunham for this rom even though you moved on from this phone. Just moved over from cm13 back to this rom and it's working great so far.
Will viper4android work on this?

I don't see why not this is just a stock rooted rom with minor mods nothing that much changed. I personally don't really install viper but it should work if you were able to install it on other tw based roms
first, thank you @tdunham for making this. I had an issue using the 3.0.2-1 TWRP as it wouldn't allow SD card access, so I went back to 3.0.1-0 and it worked fine.
EDIT: i can't seem to get v4a to work. Any ideas?

I found 3.0.2-1 also solved flashing issues. I have noticed access to my ext sd is like its not there. I wondered why. Im gonna try 3.0.1-0.

Mine dropped from stock ok4 to pk1. Gonna flash this in the next day or so.
Forgive my ignorance. I've never run a debloat tool. I usually just remove what I don't use but guessing this way is cleaner. Should I boot up the rom and set it up first or run it directly after flashing the rom?

perhaps the bloatware is eating at it. also the battery is a mess after a new flash, needs few days to settle
Debloat , kill all the garabage and let it cycle the battery few times.
Ive tried both stock and debloated, still crappy batt.
Ill flash this n see if its just a quirk on my end or if just so happening that my battery is giving out.
I dont see an option to mount SD as internal storage, is that not available on this build?

Before first boot is best. Doesn't really matter probably.

Never use an aftermarket battery, they are really not worth it.
If getting an extended yield battery, only purchase the best name brands like zero lemon. I had a cheapy aftermarket standard battery and when I bought a genuine stock, there was a huge difference.

Unless something has changed, this has never been an option on stock Touchwiz.

My apologies is been a while since I've tried a TW rom.
I'm having trouble with accommodating space.
Ive used app2sd to move everything possible but still an issue, any suggestions?
