[Q] Am I buying a blue or a black S3? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A local electronics store have called me confirming that they have a Pebble Blue S3 for sale that they have saved for me (I pre-ordered), and I can pick it up today. However, I am not sure if it is the blackish one seen in the german video (as seen in another thread) or if it is more blue, as seen on the ads. I asked over the phone, and apparently the box they have is blue, whereas the one in the video is more black.
What do you guys think?
The reason for why I am asking is that I think the one in the video looks much better, so I am considering whether the two colours are different altogether.
Since the shop only received 5 units of the the Pebble Blue, I'm thinking that maybe these are remainders of the initial batch but that actually passed inspections?
I live in Dubai if that matters, and the store is to be trusted.

i don't think there is any other colour of blue its just the lighting in that video i have held a pebble blue phone and in different lights it looks darker.

It's blue...but it depends on the light source...

If it's pebble blue it is not the grayish one. The grayish one is being called metallic blue.

Good find, lets hope its true
Will not be amused if this is available a week after I get the blue one.
come on guys, this is just a site that does 3d animations for phones. Did you really think that samsung would not have announced a black version?

Neither will I However I think the listing could well be a mistake colour-wise. When I was looking at pre-orders, there were a couple of places that had white or black listed as colour options, but later corrected to white or blue. I think the blue should be dark enough in real life to pass as nearly black anyway.

Looks like the blue version to me.
Looks blue to me too
looks like blues clues to me i dont know about black..you know that fruit company might sue again
Also they don't even list the blue, which is a bit strange.
I'm calling BS
According to Eldar Murtazin, later it will be available in black too.

"Initially only two colors will be available - Marble White and Pebble Blue. Later on the lineup will be expanded and we will get a black phone among others."

Probably the crappy US Carrier versions.
Eldar Murtazin told me on twitter that the black version will be available for Christmas. Well, i want it so much, but i'm not going to wait :|
I have always had a black phone so ive decided this time it's gonan be different,i want the marble white SGS3 but the blue one looks really nice as well i just cant make up my mind.
Seems immeasurably stupid not to include a black version at launch. It harks back to the days of kids running around with bright red Nokia Xpress-on covers and potentially alienates a large portion of the market who want a sleek, back, professional looking phone - not a teenager's fashion accessory.
The inclusion of things like S-Voice are the kinds of things that look great in a shop but you end up never using in practice. For the same reason it boggles the mind why Samsung didn't give the option of a black version; part of the reason AMOLED screens look so impressive is the near seamless transition between black on-screen and a black bezel, made possible by AMOLED's superior contrast.
I had a very reaction when i saw the white and blue versions at the presentation. I hate white phones and thought the blue looked horribly cheap. Ive now seen a blue one in the flesh and its nothing like as bad as i feared. Its actually quite smart looking.
Many of the images of it make it look a lot lighter than it actually is. The front looks black in most lights an the pattern on the back is almost like metal.
I would still prefer a black phone though.
its the blue one!

They all Pebble Blue which might look black on some videos.

[Q] Are there any downsides of a white phone?

Im buying a L920. I've always been set on the red model, but having watched several video reviews im now in doubt.
- Smudgeprints are extremely noticeable on red
- It has a really big "wow effect", its very noticeable with such a massive, bright red glossy back
- Its not gonna match live tiles if I change the colors
Because of this, im leaning towards White, but I have some questions about it.
- Does it get dirty easier? (ie. dirt gather in scratches)
- I read white phones tend to turn yellow if exposed to certain things such as cigarette smoke. Is this true?
- Is there overall something I should be aware of when getting a white phone?
Thanks in advance.

I had the White for a week then swapped out to a Red one. I didn't notice anything unusual like smudge prints etc, that stood out on the white. But, I'm an office worker so I'm not generally exposed to much dirt or grime.
Of the 2 colors, I'm not sure which I really prefer. The Red stands out, but so does the White. There are certain theme colors that do not go well with either color...so it boils down to your personal preference.
Though liking both the White and Red, I have not regretted switching to the Red

Im gonna be using full body protection on the phone, including on metal+lens on the back from the Martin Fields protector. Im not exposed to dirt either (being home going till march...), but its still something I'd like to know, as I've never had a white phone.
Imo red stands out more than white. White is a fairly common color among phones (one reason I dont prefer the color), however the bright red is not. Im just imagening holding it to my ear and all ppl see is the bright back, heh. White just seems so...smooth, despite being common.
Bump for more interest.
Well I can't say anything about White vs. Red but I had a Cyan for two weeks and then I got RED .... I personally liking RED a lot more.

I would get the Red colour. My mum got a White 920 and I really don't like it. I also seen the Yellow version which I thought I would hate, but it actually looked pretty cool in person.
I have a black one which I would say is the best color to choose, either that or the matte grey model.
Between red and white, go red IMO.
I got the yellow one, and I love it - though most people don't (who cares - I love it).
Before that, I had the white Galaxy S2. Looks pretty fine after about a year of usage, besides the scratches it got from the one and only time I dropped it.
I wouldn't hesitate to go for white in means of dirt stains or so. As long as you're not a smoker it should keep it's color for some time.
I am coming from a white HTC One X and I decided to go with a red 920.
When the Lumia 900 came out, I fell in love with the white one. When the HTC One X came out, to me it was like a slightly more rounded "Android" version of the Lumia so I had to have the white one. I really like the color and the contrast of white and black. The only issue I had with the color I had was due to the invisishield protection I had on it. My jeans would stain the shield blue-ish so the phone was never a true white. I read that a naked One X will do the same thing, but that you can clean it off with alcohol. However, if you have a naked Lumia, I doubt that will happen because of the glossy finish.
The reason why I ended up with a red 920 is not because of that, however. I went to the store to check all the colors out and red really stood out to me more so than the other options.
So if you really like the red, get the red but if you really like the white, get the white. But be aware that invisishield-type protection on that phone might be really noticeable once it gets dirty because of the white. I believe the naked phone will actually look cleaner.
I have a white and a black. White stays white - no smudging. However, I will say that the colored ones have more 'grip' that the black - which is very slick.
To my first test drive with a red one then ended up getting a white one for the wife & I. Just came down to personal preference, the one thing I new was I didn't want another black phone

White color become more blue!

Hello.
I bought Salaxy S4 here in Europe but I have one problem from the beginning. When I look directly to the screen white and other colors looks great. But when I look to the screen just a very little more from the side white color get blue color in it. I know that viewing angles gives you different colors to the screen but on my S4 specially white color changes too quickly to my taste. I tested two S4 in two different shops and one have the same problem or even worst but second one looks a lot better. Anyone has this problem too? I am really disapointed and angry because this phone is expensive and colors of the screen looks different from the phone to the phone. It is like a lottery. I had S3 but I don't have this problem.

Question Anyone's Pixel 6 Seafoam not look like Seafoam?

Received P6 yesterday and disappointed to find the Seafoam looks nothing like I expected, The back is slightly off white and no where close to seafoam shown in google advertisements. Thanks
I find it has a slightly different hue in different light. Sometimes the main section on the back looks almost white. Other times it's exactly like the promo material, a soft minty green.
you are holding it wrong
sorry, couldn't resist. but I am happy with mine and sometimes it looks like in the promotional picture
I asked a few people what color they were seeing just to make sure I wasn't color blind. Its definitely white and yellow. Not the Green/Blue that the promotional articles make it look.
I'm not sure where or how people saw the promo material, but on my phone and on my PC it always looked sky blue + light neon green/yellow. To me, my P6 looks exacty like the box it came in, which looks just like what I saw online.
As OP mentioned, Pixel 6 Seafoam back-glass has a tendency to look white, but it very much tends to depend on the color temperature of the lighting. Maybe it's why Google calls it only "Sorta Seafoam"? Under warm lighting mine does match the box & most Google online renderings/photos. Probably won't matter if I put an opaque case on it anyway!
Off-white
