I downloaded Soft Screen tuner, some app in the apps/themes section but i can't seem to fix the blueish tint, when im able to remove it my screen turns yellow.. is there any way to remove it? Thanks~
I want it to look like iPhone 4S's color.. more natural..
Bump~ Anyone?
Appearantly not all sgs2 screens are calibrated equally ,but the bluesh tint does seem common.
my phone doesn't have a blue tint at all ,but two of my friends weren't so lucky ,their screens looks badly tinted when compared next to mine .
well actually mine has a a very slight yellow tint so it's not all perfect either ,but at least it looks way better than their phones.
blue tinted screens also looks abit dimmer than non tinted ones.
however I'm not sure if there is a solution to your problem ,as I have not tested this app on my friend's phones.
but still you have one of the finest screens available on the market today so cheer up and enjoy it.
cheers

Download that app. And then choose between the 3 gamma sets to your liking.
Hello all,
Really excited about the Xperia S, even though I'm still on the Arc S.
Just putting together a poll to see which one everyone thinks is better looking/planning on getting.
Not sure why this time, but I'm seriously considering the white Xperia S. Looks amazing. Never had a white phone before though but I'm really liking the anti stain coating.
I'm going for the white colour one cause it looks awesome with the black display and then the transparent element then there's the white stripe at the bottom with the xperia logo and the white colour stripe. that looks so awesome, you should go for the white colour.
Black just perfect

I've had a White HTC Hero for almost 2 years, so i'm going for a black phone now
seriously black just looks awesome on this phone
black for sure, as white looks girlish
I've always had black phones. My girlfriend have a Nexus S white and it's look very nice. Maybe this time i will try an Xperia s white.
All colors are good, as long as they are black
I think the white more attractive, but bother colors are good looking ))
P.S. XPS is already available for sale? Where?
I originally was after the white one as it looks better than the black imo, looks really nice. However after going to phones 4 u today and seeing both models9dummy models0 i notice that the white one actually attracts dirt alot not from me but from other people that were already looking at the dummy model and after seeing the videos about how the cover is dirt resistant i tried to rub it off only made matters worse actually the colur started turning to cream and on the edges of the phone i could clearly see that it looked worn out, so the white one is out of the question for me which is a shame as i was looking forward to getting that one. Black it will be though
At first i wanted the white one, but after i gave it some thoughts i preferred the black one as the contrast with the transparent bar is way better!
It's black for me.
just prefer it and love the way it looks.
That's the colour ive pre-ordered.
Looks-wise i definitely prefer the white one. But I fear that the white body will look worn out soon and lose all it's sexiness.

I was thinking about the white one, as I never had a white phone before, and my partner and I both ordered a Xperia S and didn't want to mix up the phones all the time :/.
But I went for black, because well...the black is rather nice, and it won't get noticeably dirty that easily. We just need to make sure to have seperate backgrounds or a hard case on one of the phones xD
For this phone in particular I found the black much nicer.
I have since I clapped eyes on this phone always been attracted to the white version. I have had many black phones over the years, so a white handset will be a welcome change.
After seeing the white dummy model in phones 4 u, it put me right off!
just seeing the dirt on it and whe you rub it the colour was changing.
I first thought I would get the white version, but after seeing some videos, the black version does look nice, in a 2001-monolith kind of way, and the transparent bar really shines in all this blackness.
Also it would color-match my old SE K800i
I just want a different White, more fashionable.
Oh,80% of my friends chose the white version . white looks sharp and shiny. but black outstanding more the transparent bar design.
I wanted to test the super amoled screen of our sgs3 and see that black black its display can show !
Since i came from an HD2 , i thought for a while that the sgs3 had the blackest black i've ever seen.. but then curiosity came in and after some tests, it turned out that e.g the galaxy s 2 has a better black and that on sgs3 it is still a bit grey !
Also cheched a black photo to compare it with Nokia's N8 clear black display ..and got beaten as well >_>
I use Multitouch Visible Test to test the black of the devices along with the contrast of the colors when i touch the screen.
All tests have been done at night or at a very dark environment since at day there seems to be no difference.
My question here is :
Can you please confirm that this is a common thing among all of sgs3 users and not a display problem of my display ?
The gs3 lacks the true blacks that are possible with oled tech. I presume it was a compromise Samsung is making for some technical reason.
At first the grey tinge bothered me at night. Now, I don't care; the screen still looks gorgeous.
That said, when you first power on the screen, there is a brief moment where the blacks are truly off - ala gorgeous true black. The tinge might be modifiable in firmware or drivers, but I bet Samsung is lighting all the pixels for a reason.

Exactly my observations and thoughts ! Thank you my friend at least it is not only me
of course it is still a great display .
I really feel its to reduce the black clipping in dark images and videos which are prevalent on the Galaxy Note and the galaxy nexus.
There was a software solution to reduce the clipping with an app called "Screen Adjuster" which, basically reduces the contrast and makes black "grey". The plus point was that, there is no clipping then.
So I guess samsung has done the same to the S3's screen as maybe they realized that the clipping us a Pentile HD AMOLED limitation.
This maybe helps?

Surely if rooted it's possible to set up a toggle for the standard 'true black'? I used to use the s2 to read white text on a black background and it was very satisfying to see only the white text with absolutely no glow. This was one of the reasons I went for the s3 over the one x.
Hi, after two years with Defy I bought brand new Atrix 4G fw. 45.31.1.MB860.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU, non rooted. The problem is that all dark colors like gray, dark-blue, dark-green, dark-red seems to be black. Rest of bright colors seems to be fine. For example gray menu with black letters is bright, clear and sharp but buttons like in Power Amp (dark buttons on dark background) has no borders and there is no difference between them and background. The same thing is with movies - daylight scenes looks nice but night scenes are so dark that it's hard to see anything. I installed Screen Adjuster too boost contrast and then all dark colors starts to be clearer and didn't split to black but rest of bright colors starts to be completely washed. Screen looks fine on bright background and it's alot better than washed up screen id Defy but on dark background there is no difference between dark colors, all looks black. Strange thing is that noone post this problem before so could it be factory damaged screen or maybe some software issue?? I really need help with it cause I payed for this phone the same as I sold my 1 year old Defy Plus and this Atrix is new so it would be nice to fix it, otherwise I need to return it quickly but I wont find that phone in the same occasional price.
So anyone can help??
Link to photos comparing to Defy Plus on the same frame.
Photos are not good quality but when You look on collar You should know what I mean.

I've the same issue, Chamelleon! have you found the way to fix it? now i'm running neutrino 2.9 CM7, so it doesn't seem to be a rom problem....
It must be kernel issue cause on AtrICS everything looks ok. Temporary solution is Screen Adjuster from Play Store and add some contrast. Colors looks more ****ty but You can see what is on the screen.

ty Chamelleon! i'll try
What I noticed is if I put my screen on like 50-80% brightness and look at an completely white picture and focusing the color is not uniform but is slightly grainy or muddy, I had the phone for 2 days before noticing it.
I also have G6 and there I don't see it.
Its hardly noticable so not an "real" issue" but just wondering if it is normal or if I should send it back for replacement.
Also not only on white, but white its most easy to see.

I dont have this issue.. send IT Back.
Definitely send it back! Non-uniform screens are a "characteristic" of LG's manufacturing process. Ins simple terms, it's basically Russian Roulette when it comes to getting a decent screen. Just about all screens are going to have this issue to some degree. The key is to get one that this only shows at brightness around 10% and less only.
Just went to an shop where they have it on display, i would say that unit in shop was much better. Im just gonna return it and get money back. The strange thing is that it was only 1 month ago it was manufactured so a really new phone.

LG doesn't consider it an issue so they won't fix something they don't consider a problem. This issue will continue to plague all versions of the V30, V30+, V30s ThinQ, etc.
I want V30 with IPS screen

That or the mLCD on the G7, but without the stupid notch! On the replacement I received, I am noticing the poor uniformity of the screen on 78% brightness with ease on black and grey backgrounds. Running a dark theme, it is really noticeable.
It's like LG is using an older OLED style. My Droid RAZR, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 6 and V30 all exhibited cloudiness, graininess, and banding on gray backgrounds. They all looked perfect on White, Black, Blue, Red, or Green, but gray looks grainy. I'm guessing that since most people use a completely white or black theme, they would never see the imperfections. I ended up getting a Pixel 2 XL which has a perfectly uniform screen, though the blue shift is slightly more noticeable than on the V30. My Note 8 has what I would consider a perfect screen and if you've ever had one, it's hard not to notice the uniformity of others isn't up to par.
The V30 has a great screen, and is perfectly usable, but depending on the theme you use and the brightness, gray backgrounds could be problematic.

I have a Note 8 sitting on my desk right now that I need to flash for my mother. I also have an S9 Plus as well. Definitely can't complain about Samsung's OLED's. If LG's was half as good as my S9 Plus, I wouldn't have anything to complain about.
Grey's are the bigger issue with the V30 but there are also screens that also have blue or pink shifts when viewing white backgrounds. I didn't have this issue on my last one and I am really disappointed that this one does. I don't use white background though so it isn't really as noticeable. I can see the difference in colors as well with this one. The top left corner and around it is much more dim in comparison to the bottom left corner. Whether viewing blues, greens, or reds. You can see it when the color is supposed to be a vibrant shade. I have seen some for sale on Swappa where I could see this in the pictures of the phone the seller was selling. I really like a lot of what the V30 has to offer but my S9 Plus has definitely spoiled me.
