Hi all!
I have this doubt, is there a way to lock new Android installations in a phone?
The reason I ask is because when you install an anti-theft app in your phone, if the person who found/stole the phone installs a new ROM, that app is useless...

Sometimes it helps to go to page 2 of a section =p Cerberus and Avast both do what you're asking about.
Thank you for the link.
Sometimes we don't see what is in plain sight!

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the best anti theft app for the Atrix. I've seen many posts about this but none of them gave enough information. Which one has a web interface with user and password not just using SMS? Does it work outside the US?
Regards
Prey is a good one. I'm using it now.

Why not do the easy thing and secure it with the software provided.
1) Use the fingerprint scanner
2) create a ridiculously long and hard to remember pin that only you know and is so damn hard to remember that even you might forget it.
3) Turn on your GPS and use the Motoblur tracking software (works like MobileME and always tracks me within a few feet.
Those three items alone will make your phone impossible to get into, and make it easy as hell to find it if it is stolen.
I'll try Prey and of course secure the phone. The thing is that i can't use motoblur tracking cause i freezed it. I cant stand MotoBlur!
Thanks!

Unfreeze motoblur, do not use the accounts feature (social networks and what not) remove all the widgets and change the wallpaper to pure black. This way you can keep the motoblur active while using a different home launcher and still get the benefits.
Hey guys,
I'm new here so be gentle...
Is the Sony Tablet S password protected, or can just anyone pick it up and start using it?
And is it possible to protect certain programs? I'm thinking of email and Facebook/Twitter.
I can guarantee that I won't be the only person wanting to use this when I buy it, but I want to know that my personal stuff will remain private.
Thanks!
Dave

Hi there!
yep, on the settings you can protect the tablet with a password..
About the programs, you cant pass protect by origin, but I have seen apps in the market that can do that..
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk
I have ZDBox installed (free on the market) it comes with an Applock feature. Just move the apps u want into the protected apps section and u'll be prompted to enter the password every time u open one of em.
Thanks for that - sounds like a good solution
Hi, as one of my friends phone was about to get stolen when we were out in town a few days ago, I wanted some tracking and anti-theft software on my GS2. I found out how the pre-installed software from Samsung works (go to http://www.samsungdive.com/DiveMain.do and register your phone, and then enable tracking under the phone's security settings). But it is a very poor anti-theft solution if you ask me, even thou it works just as well as any solution on the market. First of all, if GPS is disabled and you try to track your phone using the Samsung website, it will ask you "do you want to enable GPS?"..that's just plain stupid and I don't see why it can't force it to start. Second of all, if my phone got stolen I would expect it to get reset to factory settings at some point. In order to avoid this, the phone should ask for the same pincode it ask for when you enable/disable tracking. That way it should always be possible to find the phone if it ever got stolen. I figured it was a simple yet good idea and wanted to feature request it for Android, but I couldn't find any information on where you can do so. Do any of you guys know? Or do any of you developers talk to the Android developers or do they roam in a certain part of the XDA forum?

Please try to contact Samsung/Google via the official contact/support email addresses first.
As they are using help desk systems, each email to those addresses become documented as a request or ticket and will be worked through in some way.
Every other contact (via personal network or a free/internet forum) is "in-official" and could lead into a loss of your input.
Good luck !

I shall give you a very good advice: DO NOT INSTALL ILLEGAL SOFTWARE/GAMES!!! :silly: But If you still are that kind of "greedy & cheap", The only thing to avoid this sh**t are to uninstall every single game or program that are illegal, after you have done that and restart your unit/Phone you have to make a "Factory Reset" of your Phone and to your memorycard/SD-Card... Then restart your phone one more time! And Then when you have done that... Start to BUY your games and softwares!!! Good luck! :silly: By The way: BUY a very good quality Firewall/Virus-software protection! Example: AVG Internet Security for your Android or Iphone device! :cyclops:
As stated no one will help you with this here. This is what you get for pirating games.

Hello everyone!
I need your help! Recently the company that I work for decided to force us to use the Intelligent Hub app on our smartphone devices. The think with this awful app is that not only it is slow but also it asks for device administrator rights something that really bugs me.
Is there any way I can bypass this and make the app think that it has administration rights although it does not?
Maybe with a magisk module or something?
Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day everyone!

I'm also interested to find a solution for it. Did you find a solution for it?
No there isn't. If there was then the app wouldn't serve a purpose now would it.

Get a non-smartphone, problem solved!
Seriously though, Xposed Framework with XPrivacy might be able to do it. EDIT: The old one, not XPrivacyLua, is better if you can run it. It allowed you to do really stupid stuff that can break everything, which in this case is probably what you need.
If it was me, I would tell them to give me a phone and cell plan just for work and put it on there. I wouldn't particularly care about them having access, it's the principle of the thing.
I am currently wondering this too.
