I have some custom ringtones I put on the SD Card Media/Audio/Ringtone folder.
They all were showing up fine and I decided to rename them all to a simple format (Ring (1); Ring (2); etc).
Some of them are showing, but others for some reason are not showing up. Rebooted the device to see if it would refresh, but still no luck.
Any ideas how to clear this up?
Have you accidently removed their extension? If not cut those file and paste on desktop check sound optio in mobile, then restore them back in same folder

I did this as well because I got so used to the "little" notification tone. I took out the sci_fi.mp3 and renamed little.mp3 to sci_fi.mp3. Then I did a reboot. Works fine now. Just don't move the previous ringtone back/rename it, because it goes back to default.
I didn't delete sci_fi btw, just moved it one folder up from the notifications folder. It seems like the notification tones don't want to play as nice as the regular ringtones.

Does having them on the actual SDCard vs Internal Storage matter?
It seems the notifications/ringtones sometimes play and other times cut off abruptly.

For ringtones, I left then on the sdcard. The phone found them easily and without a problem.
Now with notifications, I moved into internal because I never got the phone to find them in /sdcard2. If your trying to change the notifications, they seem to be a little more stuck up than ringtones. Or HTC just didn't want us to change them too easily.

Hey guys! Whenever I set a alarm,I can't seem to choose my own songs! Any idea why that is so?

I think the alarm doesn't rely on the gallery to read all the audio files on the sdcard, unlike when choosing a ringtone. So if you're not happy with the default alarm sounds I suggest finding the folder where they are placed and add there the files you want. I think you wil need a file explorer with root access for that.
Just put the sounds that you want to use as alarms in your sd card, under /media/audio/alarms/ it should do the trick

You'll also need a rooted phone to do that and find an app that will allow you to access system files, such as Root Explorer.

Well, you have two ways, pushing the sound files to /system/media/audio/alarms (requires root) or pushing the sound files to /sdcard/media/audio/alarms (no root required), actually you can enable usb storage and in your computer create the folder media, then create the folder audio inside it, then create alarms inside that one and push the files easily.
This method also works for ringtones (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones) and notifications (/sdcard/media/audio/notifications)

Yup I'm rooted and I have Root explorer Thanks for the help!
I'm currently running CM7 Xron ROM and I'm aware that it's 200+ MB on it's own. Any ideas how I can free some space up for an instance like this?

Root explorer. Under system/app delete cmwallpapers.apk for gaining 5mb in system. I also delete file manager, email, protips, rom manager, cyanbread(as long as your using the green theme your ok).
That should give you more then 15mb right there.
Also make sure cm setting/application/install location is set to automatic, moving larger games to SD card automagically.
You can try a cache cleaner, it check music, maps and other hogs too.

its possible correct this bug?
thanks
The possible reason is that the individual songs have different details like "Composer , genre ," and stuff like that .
If you are using windows 7 , just mount your sdcard and browse to the music directory. Once you select the song , you can edit its details on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Just make sure all the songs have same details except the track number or just modify it. Hope this solves your problem
it's not a bug... possibly because of how the files are being placed in different folders per artist... try placing all tracks in one main folder per album

Yes. It is NOT a bug. It is bcos you songs have been classified under genres or they have been classified under a specific value. So, go to your computer and solve this by placing them in a common album. This has worked for me.
Its not do do with the folders. Its the ID3 tags. Use MediaMonkey to change them.

Here is a folder sorted alphabetically as desired (I drag-and-dropped each to order):

I just rebooted the phone and here is the folder now:
Same with my other folders. Just wondering if there's a setting anywhere to keep the apps sorted alphabetically? Looove using folders so hoping this is possible Thanks!
Anyone? :-I

Download AppZorter Lite on the Play Store, this can remove the gaps left and sort the apps by name or install date automatically.

Thanks! I tried this and sorted, but my folders still the same (Applications did sort, though, and that's awesome). I even restarted phone.

No one else encountering this?
In my settings under manage applications, I have 2 apps (wolfram alpha and blood brothers) that seem to have a slight... problem.

According to link2sd and launching blood brothers from a homescreen shortcut, those 2 apps are not installed. Yet, when I sideload blood brothers (not officially compatible with my phone but works nevertheless) it gives me the prompt saying this app will replace another app and all data will be saved. Then I hit install and it says "application not installed"
So I decided to open up settings and uninstall them from there, but it FCs every time I tap on either one of them.
Then, I went into /data/app, deleted both apks, went into /data/sdext2/data and deleted the data files for both of them. I also went into /data/data to delete all data. I also think there were apks in /data/sdext2 which I deleted. Anyhow, from screenie you can see both apps have 0.00 bytes of storage taken up, which I assume means I've cleared everything.
But they're still there, I want to use the apps and its annoying me to have those show up in settings.
So I went into TiBackup. They didn't show up. Like stated before, link2sd said nothing.
The Play Store says wolfram alpha is uninstalled, but here's the weird thing. I refunded the app (because it is not worth $3!) And it has this weird residue left over. Couldn't care less about it right now, but gimme blood brothers!
Any ideas as to what could have caused this?
