Hi! I know there's allready loads of these threads, but, as everyone have different criterias when buying a new phone, I figured out that it was best to just create a new one..
So, currently I am looking at the HTC one S, the Samsung galaxy note, and maybe the galaxy nexus.
I have been using a Huawei u8800 Ideos x5 the last 14-15 months, and I have figured out what I need from my next phone.
-I really need a bigger screen, as I text, browse, and play quite alot of games.
-Better battery time. (This isn't very important, as I charge my phone every night anyways. But, I wouldn't mind if my next phone lasts a normal day with moderate use..)
In my country, Norway, the Galaxy Nexus currently costs about 3400 NOK (590 USD), the One S costs about 4200 NOK (730 USD), while the Note costs about 4500 NOK (785 USD).
I have read about the PenTile screens on the One S and the Galaxy Nexus, so I was also wondering: is the PenTile screens really bad? I have read both good and bad stuff about those screens...
Also, a removable battery (which the One S doesn't have) wouldn't hurt, as I might wanna root it and flash custom ROMs after a while.
Which one of those phones should I go for? You could also suggest other phones
Come with your opinion guys

14-15 months? Assumably you have 3-4 months left on your contract? I'd hold off and check out the Galaxy S3 when its announced in a couple of weeks, I was looking at the one X but I have two issues with it, firstly, there's no SD slot, so if the unthinkable happened and I dropped it in the toilet, ran over it with car etc I've lost all my personal photos of the kids etc, where as with an SD slot, I'd have a second chance at recovering this data. Secondly, the battery is built in, non-removable, this seems a ridiculous idea to me as with large screen smart phones battery life is always an issue, I have two spare battery's that get very much use

well, I'm not on any contract But, yeah, I should probably wait and see what samsung announces 3rd May. If I don't go for the GSIII, I think that I might end up getting a Note..

I'm at my upgrade time on Orange UK but they don't stock the HOX+ at all and don't appear to be going to either!
Looks like I'll have to go sim only and buy it but want an honest review as I can't find a store that had it in to play with #frustrating
There are a few on YouTube but they are the generic unboxing & start up reviews. I'm after a what's it like to use, battery life, speed etc...
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks, but have seen all of them. I was really after a non commercial review i.e. a new user to get the honest view as most of the web reviews are pretty similar and just tell you what's under the hood and not what it actuality feels like to the end user..

Concerned about the heating of the handset - is it just on heavy use (as my DHD does that) or all the time?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I for one don't think there's a phone produced in the last two years that doesn't heat.
I have a One X+, if i would be in your place i will wait for next year. I am convinced that by february they will launch a new model.
I am very satisified with my HOX+ until now, but just have it about 10 days or so... Very fast, battery life is fine (can last for 3 days or 6 hours, depends on operations...) and I except it to get better after a few more cycles -> similar to the S3 of colleagues of me... It get's warm on the backside (about 40°C according to battery app) on heavy operation, but never hot in any way (I am no hardcore gamer). In normal operation battery temp is about 23° C to 28° C... Camera/Video in good light very well. 64 GB is amazing, love that! Sound is very good especially with third party player and EQ...
I come from XperiaS and HOX+ is better in every way, except maybe camera (but not really sure about that until now)... Had to decide between this and S3 and I am very happy I took the HOX+ :good: Looks better and feels much much better! Last but not least I like the look&feel of Sense more than the ones on Sony or Samsung phones (installed CM10 on my 10.1 Tablet to get rid of the Samsung stuff)...
I don't think you can do anything bad buying this phone. Compare it to the competition right now and it's very good. Sure, in half a year or so there will be newer stuff out there, but that's the way it is...

First post here... Sorry if its a bit long
Currently rocking a GSM Unlocked Galaxy Nexus (From Google Play) and while I overall am decently happy, I have a few little problems, The biggest of which which I cant correct through software is that 16gb just isnt enough for me (I thought I could make do, I admit it, its my fault and my failing) and I'm constantly feeling strangled for space on it, I dislike using "The cloud" for music and pictures... I kinda wish the processor was more spritely at times (like watching Flash videos and such) but it works, Im not terribly happy with 4.2 and while I can fix that (Root/rom what have you) I figured perhaps since I have the money why not consider getting a newer phone instead...
The other thing that annoys me on the GNex is the poor speaker volume and poor headphone amplification, Volume+ used to fix these but 4.2 broke that (I know theres likely alternatives...)
I tried out a Galaxy S3 shortly, I was not terribly happy, The biggest problem I had with it was the feel in my hand, it felt cheap and I HATED the single sliver of a button at the bottom which I had issues working, I also detested TouchWiz's entire appearance and the fact it lacked 4.1 out of the box and overall I just didnt feel enough positives to actually keep the thing (Primarily, the sliver "home" button drove me nuts the most, I could not press it worth a dang without using two hands...) The Galaxy Note II is out because its just a bit too big and still has the sliver button and etc...And I'm not a fan of the Nexus 4 (Primarily due to the storage... or rather lack of it)
That leads me to the One X+, I much prefer Sense if I'm going to have a skin, and while I havnt played with the +, I adored the feel of the original X (In fact the ONLY reason I bought the Nexus over it is the fact the Original X had VERY poor storage, 11gb free vs 13gb on the Nexus) 64gb of storage is awesome and Im betting that Tegra 3 feels pretty darn spritely while also being decently future proof (as more apps optimize more for quad core processors) it also is running 4.1 which im completely happy with (I dont see why a skinned phone NEEDS 4.2 given most of the improvements are things that skinned phones already do)
I do have ATT's LTE in my area, When I had the S3 I know my house and surrounding immediate area was very spotty with LTE coverage... When I had LTE I got a maximum of 8mbps on one very lucky run, Average of 6mbps... Compared to my Nexus doing 5mbps on HSPA+... Yes I had to double/triple/quadruple verify I was actually on LTE when I ran Speedtest when I saw the numbers and was not very thrilled when I saw it... HOWEVER since this time ATT has done some work on the towers near my house, Now I pull down 7.5mbps on HSPA+ and have a FAR stronger signal (And it wasnt what I'd call a bad signal before!) so Im willing to see if LTE has gotten better... Worse comes to worse so long as I'm happy with the rest of it I can always just switch LTE off (Or more likely, around my house just use Wi-Fi which uses less battery power)
Now this brings me to why I'm here, I've looked at the threads and everything but I guess I'm still a bit nervous about one aspect on the One X+, Battery Life... Now the GNex is no star when it comes to battery life(Because of the AMOLED Screen primarily), the fact I have had a 3500mah Seidio battery bolted on it since day 3 is a testament to that, With the 3500mah cell i go for about 18h, with 5.5hours of screen on time at about 33% brightness, Now, the One X+ doesnt have to match that, But I am curious just how close it can get... For me, I'd be perfectly happy with an average of 12hours + 4hours screen on time, Looking at the thread here, it seems thats possible, But I just want to pick peoples brains (As paying restocking fees and dealing with ATT screwing my bill up again is not something Im particularly wanting to deal with)
The only other thing I was wondering is if its going to be a pain to unlock/root/etc (I've NEVER done this before, I just want it as an option, I'm fairly techie minded so I dont think its beyond my ability, Just saw no reason to bother on the GNex...) I plan to keep it stock for a while however (Well might root it when i first get it because this wipes the phone)
I use my phone to read manga, read wikipedia a ton, watch youtube videos (I do this a LOT), listen to music, make skype calls(Both video and non), play a few games and text message, Occasionally i make normal phone calls too... But yeah, mostly the above
Ok because TL,DR, What I want:
-Acceptable battery life (12h with 4h screen on time is acceptable)
-Better performance for flash videos, games, and just in general
-Better audio quality
-Ability to EASILY Root/Unlock the thing
-Minimum of annoying bloatware
-More storage space
-LTE would be nice
And of course if any of you think of any other reasons (I know a few of you went GNex to One X+ from looking around) feel free to mention them More info is appreciated

I usually get about a day out of my one X +, I'm using insert coin rom. The only way to have little to no bloat is a custom rom. The performance Imo is pretty good. I used to have a galaxy s2 and the screen, performance, build quality on this phone is far better. The audio quality is pretty good as well. Turning Beats audio on will dramatically increase the volume output through headphones. Rooting and unlocking the device is easy due to the fact that hasoon developed a all in one kit for the device. It is really easy to do with his program. I get around 15+ mbps where I'm at using lte.

If you are ok with Sense everything else is awesome with One X+ ... Once we get CM it should be great. Also check out the LG Optimus G, that one is fast and buttery smooth phone.
Just to touch on a few points I have the att one x+ and lte is great on it. The battery is gonna be what you make of it. You can adjust the settings and get what you want out of it. Of course with beats audio the audio is good. The rooting is very easy esp. With the tool by hasoon2000. The bloatware comes with every phone esp if you run stock, although a custom Rom can take care of that!

Thanks! I was just checking out the ROMs, That Elegancia one looks awesome (Black and Blue are my colors on top of it) and the screens im seeing of 17h of battery life are definitely making me feel better...
Is there a handy dandy text guide for doing this? I know, sounding pretty dumb.. I think I might kinda have it.. basically all i need is Hasoon's toolkit thing and the file of the ROM i want to use
-Get hasoon's toolkit
-Unlock Bootloader
-Flash TWRP
-Flash the Kernal
-Enjoy?
Correct enjoy away, I've been enjoying mine the day I rooted mine.

Wow we are almost in identical situations. I had the Gnex and have hated the phones performance since 4.2. I have been going back and forth between getting a one x+ or a note 2 for a couple weeks now. I love the build of the one x+ but that 5.5" screen was really calling my name, so I picked up the Note 2 from ATT today. I really like the phone, but am still considering exchanging it for the one x+ to get the better in hand feel and also beats audio since I love my bluetooth Beats headphones. The storage isn't a big deal for me as 16 GB has been plenty, but extra is always good to store videos and pics on. I will probably keep my Note 2 for at least a week before making any decisions on an exchange. I really wish the one x+ had 2 gb of ram though to future proof it a little more and also worried that they will come out with a 1080p version on AT&T shortly and make it obsolete within no time. Update the post with your thoughts if you get the one x+, as I'm interested to know how you like it compared to stock 4.2 on Gnex.

Regarding battery, I went for about 40 hours on it Thursday/Friday last week (no screenshot, sorry) when I forgot to charge overnight Thursday. It was fairly light use, but still had over 25% at about 6:30 Friday night. I then had to use the flashlight for a little while (walking home in the dark and wanted cars to be able to see me) and it dropped down to about 15%, but that was to be expected.

But yes, I will be sure to upload my thoughts when i get it

Perfectly happy with that! The most I've done on my Nexus (checked my logs) was 18h 6m on battery, 5h 58m Screen on (33% brightness though so the screen lost a lot of its luster) which brought it to 11% life...Thats with a 3500mah extended battery however! (so stock is -half- that)
Theoretically with that number, if i drained the One X+ to 11% (For apples to apples) It sounds like it would be roughly the same...
Just an update, Got my One X+ in my hand right now!
Love it so far, my first reaction is HOLY WHAT THE -expletive- with the speed, This thing -flies-
And the screen is gorgeous
and LTE is nice, However i still dont seem to get a reliable LTE connection at my house Bummer, But unlike the S3 its NOT constantly flopping to the weak LTE signal, instead it seems to prefer the strong HSPA+ connection instead, So kudos to HTC for a better modem software!
I came from a GNex too. I'm liking this phone a lot. Having lte and a better camera are a plus, I miss the on screen nav buttons because it was customizable adding buttons or whatnot, but I'm getting used to it. I was debating between s3 or this, and I was absolutely sick of touchwiz which my old skyrocket so I went with htc. I'd much rather have sense than samsung's touchwiz.

I gotta say it blows the S3 out of the water... Only complaint i have is that the volume rocker is a little hard to find (Not a big deal) and it took me a bit to figure out how to turn spellcheck off..
Overall im not hating the Sense look, it looks great to me, The phone is loud (Thank god) and the quality of the external speaker is "meaty" I've watched a youtube video on it and im planning to sit here and drain out my initial charge watching some vids lol..Cant test music yet because i have yet to connect it to Wi-Fi to AirSync to my Doubletwist library...
The Signal strength on it is impressing me, its managing to keep the LTE signal solid in my room despite it not being the strongest signal, if i go downstairs i lose LTE entirely and jump to HSPA+ which isnt bad
As for battery, im using the charge it had on it when i unboxed it, So far so good, it seems to actually be better than the S3 i had, but that could be because HTC's radio optimization (or antenna) are just working a lot smoother, Im not seeing it spasticly jumping from HSPA+ to LTE every 3 seconds
The performance of it has my jaw on the floor though, Google Now is smooth, VERY smooth, the speech to text stuff flies on it, Theres no delay in anything im doing on it and its just amazing me.. I mean i knew itd be fast, but wow, this thing is FAST
-edit- Just put it to charge, no clue what i started with but i brought it down to about 8%, Wanted to drain the initial charge as much asi could before recharging which took about 3.5 hours, So far no complaints, Downloaded the BetterBatteryStats app too so i can get a good read on the battery (As the stock battery info thing isnt as nice as the Nexus' and doesnt show me my screen on time)

Huh?
Anyways one problem, Google+ is for some reason not letting me pick who to share with (IE which circles and that) it just sits there loading... Already tried clearing data and reinstalling the app a few times.. didnt work...
-edit- Nevermind, got it working, Turned off fast boot/shutdown and it fixed it for some reason (I read it caused issues with stuff somewhere..)
Still breaking it in, But today was the first day i really used it off the charger
Went from 8am to 10pm, Still had 20% left on it, Around 3 hours of screen on time... Certainly wasnt panicking i was going to run dry if i pulled it out to do something, if i go by the battery stats, i averaged 5-6% per hour.. This was me simulating a "normal" day wherein im not using it constantly, Because you know, That kills just about any phone lol
if its like my Nexus was, the first few charges arent as strong as later ones...
I'm really not finding problems with it either...Still running stock FYI
Love the look of the phone too... Sense definiately looks nice.. and im not seeing it hogging resources or anything... My One X+ is nothing but smooth and silky constantly...
Thanks for the updates. I'm still debating what I want to do. So far I'm loving my Note 2, but size is an issue at times. Its biggest pro and con is the screen. Sounds like the one x+ is a really nice phone though.

Dear dear dear people,
I must have registered here, in Mekka of smart people, cause of last reasons.
I've just bought a brand new HTC ONE X+, I've been gathering money for it for some period of time.
Moreover I'm a huge fan of HTC devices, because before this pfone I had HTC ONE V, HTC DESIRE X, HTC ONE SV (+ 2 more)
BUT when I got this phone Im continously like a WTF WTF WTF, and Im still looking for my fallen jaw.
I never said even one bad word on HTC devices, but I cant understand whats going on with this crappy HTC ONE X+.
Firstly I've been complaining about battery life on my polish android forum and that I've made 5 minutes of calling, 5 sms sent, 0 gaming and 10 minutes of surfing on the net and the phone was capable to stand 11 hours in this usage, BUT i said OK I can handle this !
But also from very beginning I was strong complaining that telephone is very laggish, first ICS was installed and transistions between screens (or desktops) werent smooth at all. Next I upgraded to 4.2.2 Sense 5.0 and still some frames lagging in simple activities, in phonebook, contacts, messaging etc.
Now, the thing which killed me and threw my balls out of the window was when I installed games like ShadowGun and Subway Surfers.
Every phone which I had before wasnt so crappy lagging like this one ! I was playing SS on desire X and ONE SV SUPER SMOOTHLYa nd this phone has quadcore 1.7 GHZ and cant handle such simple game ? Its not unplayable but its far away from smooth and fluent playing...
Damn Im really frightened cause of all this... First time I was considering buying LG Optimus G but Ive chosen this as I have always had HTC devices.
Can some intelligent person explain me whats happening, am i doing sth wrong ? or Im sentenced on always lagging simple games ? So where's that quadcore Nvidia Tegra 1.7 advantages ? Beacuse cmparing simple usage this phone is far behind much older HTC phones.
Now after a week Im thinking about selling this phone
ehhhhhh.....

Keep power saver mode on at all times. I keep it on even when I play games and it does not lag at all. As another user on this forum said, that option should actually be reversed, as in to keep the phone using only one CPU core at all times, and activate all of them using "Performance Mode".
Are you 100% sure your phone is HTC original? (if it was bought from a well-known retailer that wouldn't be a problem)
Check the IMEI and SN on http://sndeep.info.
Also, go to www.whatismyscreenresolution.com and check if the reported resolution is 1280x720. (most fakes can look, feel and perform almost like the original, but they don't have the exact resolution).
If you don't have any apps running and it still lags, even without power saver (although it shouldn't either way), i'd recommend to return it to the shop, it might be defective.
It is a great phone, I would not change it for anything except the One.
AFAIK the lag in non-tegra/easy cpu-loading games should have been fixed on android 4.2.2, it is related to the tegra SoC scaling the gpu only with the cpu, so if the cpu load is not high enought the gpu power is also smaller, but as fara as I have read most people said it was not happening anymore after the 4.2.2 update.
Also are you sure you are on the ONE X+ and not ONE X or a fake X+, cause the ONE X+ comes with android 4.1.2 JellyBean and not with ICS (android 4.0.x).
I changed mine for a brand new Nexus 4. Best desition I made in terms of mobile technology.
I owned the hox+ for a while, tried android revolution, cm, slim rom and finally I felt in love for aokp.
But the lag and embarrassment still there.
The material quality of the hox+ is by far superior, but the Nexus 4 performance is incredible.
I was really disappointed too, considering the Nexus 4 is older than the hox+.

Hey again,
Thank you very much guys for participating in this topic, I appreciate it.
@thecybo - I've checked the sites youn recommended me and everything is OK, the sites show me it is original ONE X+ and the screen is also OK.
Yeah guys my telephone comes from a big retailer in my country so no doubt its original. It was bought as a BRAND NEW.
Honestly i truly cant believe that a brand new phone can have malfunction or something, I've never had such situation before.
When I first took the phone in my hands there was installed ICS or JB, I'm not sure because I didnt checked it. I just fastly upgraded it to newest software as I wanted check the new Sense 5. So before I upgraded it there were some microlags just from time to time, but even that I was like a "huh ?" In this phone class its unexectable for me. And because of fact that I've loved this phone so much (for design, specifications etc) its even sadder for me. Damnnn....I wanted this phone soo much and now I'm quite dissapointed.
Guys, Im not game type of person but in that situation Ive decided to test some games and see how telephone will handle them and here are the results:
1. Shadowgun: deadzone - medium lags, bigger than on my old HTC ONE SV
2. Real Racing 3 - hmmm I think the game works smoothly, just a small lag from time to time
3. Dead Trigger 2 - this game works the smoothest among all games in my phone; it works great
4. Modern Combat 4 - nice and OK
5. Iron Man 3 - games works weakly, very weakly
6. Asphalt 8 - almost unplayable
When I turned off Asphalt 8 the phone was hugly lagging for 3-4 seconds.
When I was playing these games, the battery consumption was like 1% per minute. Quite big I think.
Guys, can you confrote these with your usage ? Also when I use youtube, internet, facebook then IMHO its not as smooth as it should be.
Damn, Im confused right now, dont know really what to do, Im considering selling this phone (thanks Davirus849 for that Nexus 4 mention, I think I would choose his nearest brother LG Optimus G).
But HONESTLY comparing HTC with LG is like a "pffff" to me, but I think I have no choice now. Ehhhh
It shouldn't behave as you describe. There may be some corrupt user data somewhere particularly considering you have upgraded the OS. Many experienced Android users recommend a factory reset after a system upgrade as there can occasionally be a compatibility issue. These can manifest themselves as lags or poor battery life.
I would recommend you try a factory reset which will wipe all user data. Remember to back up anything you need (contacts, sms messages) first.

You just bought a One X+ now? WHY?! The One is newer and superior in every way, and most carriers have stopped supporting this phone for a while now. Why you would think to get a "new" phone that is already about a year old is beyond me. You should have gotten a One or waited for the new M8 (Current One successor).

The logic in your comment is perplexing at best. Why do people buy cheap cars instead of Ferrari's? Why do people buy cheap production PC's instead of custom built monsters? Because not everyone can afford the latest and greatest. The HOX+ is miles cheaper than the One.

In my case, I bought the one x+ in march, just when the latest ONE was launched. If you ask me WHYYYEEE?
Well mate, non removable battery is one thing, but limiting the storage for a high end smartphone is just unacceptable for my wallet! When travelling a lot and 3g not being sufficient + 4g not being deployed everywhere, people need storage. Not only for media consumption but for apps too. I have 25gb of apps installed, (tomtom + navigon anyone, each of them serving in different case scenarios). Add to that my emulator roms + multimedia + the pictures i take and there you have it.
Never have I been able to go below 48gb of used memory out of 64gb (knowing that the one x+ has only 57gb user accessible memory).
I harrassed htc at the time about the availability of the 64gb version of the ONE by mail, phone, Facebook and twitter. The only reason I could get is "selected market" and s#!t.
So where was this damn 64gb version available? 1 carrier exclusive in the US, the developper edition (also us), the removable back model for japan with a sim slot + sd slot and another one with 2 sim slots + 1sd slot (one for china at launch and the other recently announced for the UK).
There you have it, when you buy htc since 2007 and you need a phone that can manage, you don't buy the One, but the one x instead. Sadly, my experience is the same as the OP's (lags and whatever).
My guess, we can blame the processor + unoptimized apps + Google "core" apps updates which get heavyer each time (nothing changed in my usage but the phone lags more overtime no matter how many factory resets I did).
Also, the battery does NOT deliver and there's nothing around it!!! Seriously, even 2d games make the phone get hot as hell and drain the ***** out of juice in no time, 1% of battery per minute doesn't even begin to cover it.

Even still there are many good cheap android phones that you can buy new such as the Moto X and Moto G, and there are older phones that receive more love like the S3.
I got my One X + yesterday.
Been at it today reading on Rooting to make my attempt later, as well as installing apps.
My first impression, it seems to be quite quick, I'm upgrading from HTC Doubleshot (myTouch 4G Slide) and iPhone 4s.
Free RAM seems to be quite low stock, I have about the same free RAM as in the mt4gs. Not much of a mobile game player, the mt4gs handled everything fine especially with the oc (had to remove the original battery cover and use the case cover instead to get rid of some of the heat) including probably the most hungry game I've played which is Need For Speed Most Wanted.
I would be disappointed a bit if the One X+ doesn't perform as well at that. Or lags alot.
I was installing apps on battery *all* day. Where I expected I would have to plug in at some point, the battery is now 63% it was about 76% when I unpacked it. Battery seems to be pleasing for me.
I would have stayed with the mt4gs if I didn't have charging port (battery read /reporting) issues which I will repair as soon as I get the time.
So far though I'm happy with it.
I hope OP get's issues resolved.

Ram can get low, but there are custom kernels which allow you to use some space of your regular memory as ram, but I have not tried that out cause I got a Rom with Sense5 (custom kernels are only available for stock rom or roms with sense 4+, so think twice before updating it.
Playing games is not really my thing, but I noticed that it has quite many fps drops in apps which actually don't require that much power (like Rayman jungle run). That's why I have to change my cpu settings to performance (it's an option in the tweaks of the ViperX+ rom, dunno how to do this on stock). The phone also gets pretty hot, especially when charging it + using it at the same time.
Nevertheless I'm very happy with the OneX+ and I hope you willbe the same
I would hate to go through a factory reset again but I'm getting a bit disappointed myself now. I find the phone does lag a lot and behaves weirdly like slow WiFi connections. Every other device I use magicjack and the calls are good. With the one x + it sounds like a really slow connection. When streaming videos it pauses for buffering like every 10 seconds or so. Only device I experience this with.
I will do as suggested and backup my stuff and do the wipe. Also interested in trying that custom kernel.
Frustrated at this point.

Oy. Where can I find such a kernel for my stock Rom with sense 4+ ?
After very tiring searching I only ended up being very confused. All I could come across were ones for sense 5 and others I just can't find links for.
I feel really retarded

Hi, I bought my HOX+ from a friend a couple of months ago. If you ask why, Because she needed the money and sold it for a very cheap price, not to mention it is still under warranty.
When I got the phone it is already running on 4.2.2 Stock rom and so far it runs pretty smooth
What I like about HOX+ is its solid build, the beats audio and its UI which is better than my previous S3.
I also play games (Injustice, asphalt 8, clash of clans, etc) and so far I never experienced any lags even on power saving mode.
Two things I didn't like about it is the overheating issues (which I never experienced with iphone 4 and S3) and poor battery life.
I'm planning to send it over to HTC regarding the issues but I heard (here in our country) that they have very crappy service. Right now I'm thinking of rooting it instead.
Anyway I hope OP's HOX+ should be fixed soon

I'm sorry for you but I can't find the thread anymore, only the one for Sense 5 (Android 4.2.x)
EliteKernel OXP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012320
To the time where I wrote my reply there was a Sense 4+ version of the kernel, but I think the old thread got deleted by the time Nik3r
released the newer kernel.
Just as an update, I installed MagioROM R1.1 on Sunday. It was easier to do the update than many other tasks that are usually performed on the phone.
As I expected, it turned into an amazing, awesome device. All issues were resolved! Definitely have my donation & seriously the manufacturers should have these guys putting together these devices.
After installing I noticed an update was
Released probably at the same time I was installing. I grabbed that too. Perfect!

Just wondering how many here have come up from the Standard One X to the One X+?
How are you finding it in terms of Battery and overall performance etc?
Having owned 5-6 standard One X models, mine broke, and was actually looking and bidding on another Standard One X on Ebay, until I came across a One X+ advertised as "As new condition" and it said it came with 6 screen protectors, 2 silicone cases still in wrapping and a Case Mate, also unused and still in it's little clear plastic box.
As the One X without box, in average condition was already at a silly £155 and STILL I was outbid....I thought, Hmmm, this One X+ described as New condition, in box, with all HTC accessories also still bagged etc with all leaflets and manuals etc + all the extras seems to good to be true, as the bidding was at £89.00 with a £118.00 Buy It Now price, lots of bids, but still 2 days til end of auction, so basically I chanced it and clicked 'Buy It Now'
Soon as I did that I thought "oh my god, what have I done?"
Knowing my luck it'll either not come or it'll be WAY over-exaggerated in the Ebay advert, but nope....MINT...still had original HTC cover that comes on the phone when bought new.
It said was locked to Virgin, which is what I didn't want as i'm on the Three network, but turned it on, put in my sim, powered up, worked perfect and was completely unlocked!
If anything the guy WAY UNDER-exaggerated the condition.
Not even the sleeve which wraps around the HTC box had even a spec of dust on it.
Well chuffed.
Custom ROM now installed and even though only had it about 2 weeks.....100% best choice i've ever made....lol.
Performance wise with regards to CPU I can't notice much difference, but was hugely shocked when ran Quadrant and Antutu....massive difference.
And batery life is awesome compared to ANY of my many standard One X models previously owned.
image sharing
Didn't go for M7 or M8, not coz of cost, but coz I hate the way they look and for some reason, I just can't drag my brain away from HTC, and the fact that the Galaxy range are just plain yukky as in my opinion, the One X and One X+ is the best looker out there. Plus, who the heck needs any more than a 1.7GHz Quad Core??
What's your opinions and experiences if you've come up from the standard One X?
Matt
Hey, whatsup there ?
Actually my brother bought one x , after 1-2 months I bought one x+ (Telus) @ 21,000 Indian rupees I.e 220£ but it was unlocked, already rooted,s-off. I don't remember it was stock Rom or not. I installed elegancia Rom with stock kernel, I loved it. It's awesome, battery is really improved a lot . As compared to my bro's one x I have to charge 1-2 per day on heavy usage. But he have to charge 3-4 per day. Even storage is huge 64gb. It's nice .. sometimes he wonders how I am using pro version and doing in-app purchases by (lucky patcher, freedom) . He too wants to root but he fears that warranty would be void. But overall I love my mobile. It's great..
