Hi all,
I have tried searching for this, but only 4 topics came up and they weren't relevant, so apologies if this has already been posted.
I got my SIII last Wednesday and I'm pretty pleased with it (upgraded from a HTC Desire)
Last night I didn't put it on charge as it has about 90%. Woke up to it this morning, turned off (assumed that the battery drained) but when I turned it on, it started in safe mode.
I haven't rooted it, or done anything technical like that (yet) so I have no idea why this happened.
The only thing I can think of is that the memory card is corrupt (stuff like this happened with my Desire when my memory card died)
Any other ideas?
Thank you

just turn it on and off... the phone goes into safe mode when you turn it on and hold one of the capacitive buttons (back or menu, don't remember which one)... assuming it is the same as the S1 and S2...

Thanks for your reply.
I did restart it an its fine, but I'm just concerned why it did that automatically. It's a good job I don't use it for an alarm!

Ok, dumb question time... I have an Infected TB and it's been working fine for a couple months. About 2 weeks ago the phone starting rebooting itself all the time and would get stuck in a reboot loop. It even reboots itself from recovery. Now I figured that it was a problem with the rom if it rebooted in the OS, but I figure that it is a phone problem if it reboots in recovery just sitting there. I looked up on here yesterday and saw someone say that if you have the rom with the PG05IMG.zip name, on the sd, that it can cause reboots... I go grab the phone and now it won't even turn on. I get a really slow blinking amber light when it's charging though.
Any ideas, is the phone just shot since it won't power on... or is there a trick?
Thanks,
Clayton
Slow blinking amber light? Mine does that when my battery overheats. Have you tried a different battery in it? Could be bad.

That blinking means its dead.. Sounds like a bad battery

True, I grabbed my business partners battery and mine booted. And rebooted lol. Now I hope it's just rom related. Anything else I should try?
So, my wife's RAZR took a bath the other day, we dried it off and I left it in rice for a day or so. I took it out of the rice, plugged it in with cables that came with it and got the white light. I Ieft it alone for awhile, came back to to it, white light was off. I restarted the phone and had no issues. She was able to use the whole next day. That night her battery gave her the low warning signal so she plugged it in. Some woke up yesterday morning and the white light is back. Let the phone sit All day on the charger and still got the light. Tried to boot the phone, it starts to boot then flashes back to white light. At this point I've chocked the phone as a loss. I can still access fast boot and stock recovery (never rooted), is there any way to access the internal memory for the photos she took before we turn it in to the insurance? Or maybe someone else has an idea to power it up? (Without taking it apart, she wouldn't let me)
Thank you for your help in advance.

i tried to pushed a bit hard the on/off button for many times. and BoooooOM!

I just got a s3 from a work buddy and the phone is in good condition. But the phone randomly is turned off, I had thought maybe the battery was being knocked loose and causing it but after a few test I tried nothing seemed to cause it to be off. I also know the phone really does it at random because yesterday I looked down at my phone and saw I had a notification, about 30 minutes later I look down again and notice it's not blinking now and yet again off and I did not touch it at all.
Look after sudden death in general section.....
Better return it to your friend.

Im currently using cyanogen mod 10.0 and have been for over 2 months now. I have not encountered any problems in the past. This morning I turned on my phone and started to listen to music, mid way through "origami" by capital cities, everything went black. I left my phone charging all night and it wont show any signs of power when I hold down the lock button or even the lock+volume down buttons. I hope this doesnt mean I need to Jtag my phone...
There are many reported DNA power failures, you should return it if you bought it first hand. Otherwise you will have to try to fix or replace it.
