If you tap on SGS2 top (Where you have 3.5 mm audio jack than place) Voice Command/Voice Talk will open (not sure which forgot)...When I 1st got mobile I have tapped there and it opened Voice Command/Voice Talk and after that I did a factory reset and using a case now when I tap it is not opening
Don't have my own sgs2 to hand, but IIRC it's in settings - motion
hi guys
i think you're supposed to activate in the settings under "motion/movement" (my phone is danish).. in there, there's an option called doubleclick/doubletap
thats where you activate this.. its not a default setting.. so a factory would reset this option.

Thanks..in Tutorial it works fine but when I try it in home screen or in menu it wont work
First you have to double press home button to get to the utterly useless voice talk app, then you can slap your sgs on the head and talk into it.

[Q] Remap menu button

Hi,
do someone know if it's possible to remap the menu button on our galaxy s 2 to be the multitask button ( I mean the app switcher ) ? I searched hours on Google to see if it was possible and I found a couple way to get it to work. But I'm not sure it works for our phone because we miss some files in the key layout directory.
If you know how we could remap it and get the 3 dots on the screen, let me know !
I'd be so happy !
Have a nice day Belig
My Suggestion
Hey Belig
I want to have that too, it's so anoying to long press the home button everytime.
But I think getting the 3 Dots on the screen is pretty ****ty, so if we could do it that when we press the menu button the "recent apps" pops up. And when we long-press the menu button we can get the normal menu. That would be the easiest and best fix for that i think.
But I'm sorry to tell you that I don't know how to do that.
And I think the problem is that nobody is interested in doing that... , as I saw this question more than once on XDA-developers.
But if someone reads it and is interested, please do that! I would be able to do a little donation to that aswell if needed!

I am also really interested in this. Would be awesome if someone could do this.
Update, this was what I found, if you check the last page, first post, it seems that this method works fine with Samsung Galaxy S2 [running cm9, at least ] .
[HOWTO] Remap hardware button to ICS recent apps
Unfortunately, it involves decompiling and other nasty things, which would require quite a bit of effort. Would've been nice, if some ROM, had this option prebuilt. [ changing via settings].
Just a quick update/info. This has been merged in latest CM10 and is also a feature of cm9.

So, I went through the changelog of cm10 and found this :
Settings: Hardware key custom rebinding (2/2)
Description (sounds cool, can't wait for the next build ) :
Code:
Settings for rebinding the actions performed on the following key press events:
Home long-press, menu press, menu long-press, search press, search long-press,
app-switch press and app-switch long-press.
The available actions are: Nothing, open/close menu, recent apps switcher,
search assistant, voice search and in-app search.
EDIT : Sorry, hadn't seen Spiralzz's post. I was actually having this in my build cm10 itself. [ the one I flashed today ] Awesome!!! Now, I have set long-press home button to voice search, press menu button for app-switcher, and long-press menu button for search . Thinking of using, three button in-app for menu options for a while. Thanks a ton

Where can I access this in CM9? I´m on the 7 aug nightly.
I didn´t find it in settings/system.
i resume this old thread. I'm using cyanogenmod 10, so i can remap button as i want. But i would try the stock jelly bean from samsung (obviously rooted) and i I would remap the menu button for multitasking. There is now the possibility? Thanks

If it's available in the rom, then it can be enabled in developer options under settings. You may be out of luck as this is a feature that has to be supported by the kernel and, as far as I know, nobody has worked on the kernel for the new n7005 base.
I hope I am wrong on this and someone else can chime in.
I'm using Padawan and miss this function.
I just hold down the home key for 2-3secs til task manager pops up, than swipe to kill the app.

Galaxy S4 Settings Menu Question

Hi,
On the Galaxy S4 you should be able to press the soft menu key on the left side of the home button in the settings menu to make the settings 1 long list like the Galaxy Note 3. Now I did this on a friends model which was unrooted, locked, and standard software and it worked fine. On mine which is rooted, unlocked, LOKI'd etc, running a custom rom I tried doing the same thing and it doesn't work. Is there a link to any mod I can use to enable that feature because I like the longer one menu instead of the 4 tab menu on the GS4?
Any response is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!

I just tried that on mine (ME7 stock rooted) and it didn't work so maybe if your friend has a different carrier version it has this feature? Well, since you're on a custom rom I guess that doesn't matter, I would suggest Paranoid Android because they have all sorts of options for tablet modes, etc so I'm sure that'll get you what you want.
That feature is still there as I use it as a long list instead of tabbed out. I'm completely stock and have always had that option available

But maybe thats why.. because your completely stock so maybe it is taken out on the roms but works on completely stock? Does anyone know of a mod to flash to enable this setting?

omg i didn't even know about this feature! much better than the tabbed settings layout. thanks!

To go into settings, tap on the "menu" key to the left of the home button, then select "Settings".
Now tap the menu key again. It will pop up a "Switch to list view" message. Tap that to change to list view.
Tap on the menu again and "Switch to tab view" to flip back.
You don't hold the menu button down.

Yeah I tried that and still nothing. I hit the menu key in Settings and it doesn't do anything. Strange. Must have been one of my modifications that broke it somehow. I have Wifi notification gone, e911 gone, volume boost, and international dialer. One of those must of somehow broke it. Thanks anyway
So no luck finding a mod to enable it?

[Q] Omega ROM v24 - can't access the lateral ribbon anymore

Dear experts and users,
I flashed the Omegarom v24 on my i9100. (the best rom in my opinion and I need mhl support).
I used to have access to the applications thanks to the lateral ribbon on the left of the home screen.
I don't know why but it disappeared.
Can anyone tell me how to reactivate it?
Thanks and regards,
X.
1. First: You can't start a threat for ask that. You should post in omega threat.
2. If you refer to multi window quick start it is an option in omega settings to enable "back to kill" button. If this option is enable then the multi window access by holding the back button is disabled. Disable this option.

Hi,
My apologies for using a wrong thread: I can not post on the omega thread because of my lack of seniority.
I am referring to the ribbon on the left of the following picture :
omega-roms.net\/Photos\/xda\/I9100-03.png
I've lost this ribbon.
I tried what you mentionned but it makes no difference.
Thanks and regards,

Sorry for delay in answer. Yes, that i was talking about.
In Omega settings > Kill apps button > check disable, then reboot.
After reboot, you can make appear that ribbon by holding pressed "back button""
All the best!
