I had unlocked my bootloader but i relocked him after 1 day....i hadn't flashed any custom rom/kernel....i had only unlocked him and nothing else...Will i have a problem on updating to Ice Cream Sanwich through PC Companion?

u can update ICS without a problem...

I relocked my bootlader by flashing a .ftf file.

its official way so u will be loosing DRM Keys... so there might be problem r chance to brick ur phone if u use OTA r PCC. so try SUS to update as it is safe because i have already tried all methods!!

Check my signature for tutorial to update to ICS. You will know if it will be any problem to update with PCC there only.

its okay. actually when i tried with PCC then updating starts and then completes some process then it says that it can't continue... i tried several times then i got same error then i tried with SUS then i didn't get any error in fact i got updated..!! so i was telling that it was my experience...

Hm....sounds strange and confusing...
Well if you actually want to update to ics and you don't care about region and so just download a ftf file here in xda and flash it using flashtool it is easier and you don't have to wait for a regional or even branded update.

I've been looking everywhere and managed to find a few random threads but most of the links are gone and Ive been trying to piece information together but can not seem to get S1tool to unlock my Neo
My Neo is not network locked (it was bought in Singapore and is running on a German prepay simcard) S1tool can recognise the phone (when I do an IDENTIFY) but when I try to unlock the bootloader nothing happens..
Its say to remove battery, connect testpoint to phones battery negative terminal then press "Testpoint READY" and attach USB cable... but it just sits there.. I have installed all drivers possible.. does S1tool still work on the Neo's?
Has anyone on here used that method? I don't really want to lose DRM and track id etc... so the official method doesn't seem the best.
Seems like someone is trying really hard to remove mention of it on XDA all I find is links to a website where someone is charging to unlock the phones.. hrm.
Any idea's?

O.K.. I found this thread.. here this time it worked.. seems I had the wrong driver installed for the Qualcom USB device... Bootloader unlocked and still have DRM..

nope sorry mate, you better use the official one, i did it to with the official like i told, so i relock it again because when you have unlocked bl you cant not update through official se programs like pc companion etc
I'm pretty sure that I can still do OTA updates with my unlocked bootloader.. One of the advantages of using S1tool over official method

He should be able to use pc companion I think if drm keys are fine.Using setool2 method and I still can use pc companion.s1tool is kinda crippled version of setool2 I guess

Yep, been reading up on other forums too, they say I can use the same S1tool to relock my bootloader (Repair button) also the ability to use SEUS to update and still having DRM intact.. I think I'll stay away from "official method" this one seems to have no disadvantages

Yes, you can use SEUS/PC Companion if you unlocked BL with s1tool or setool2 method.

With setool2 method I can confirm you can use pc companion,tested on my Neo V and works.If it won't work for you my guess is afaik 1st you used official method to unlock bl right ? if yes you would've lost your drm keys,and I think that is why you cannot use pc companion.Bcos I remember kiwi posting that pc companion worked on his phone which got bl unlocked by s1tool method and drm keys was not lost too.

Yep you can root with the method in this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792 and then you flash to 4.0.2.A.62 firmware again with flash tool or over the air (OTA) on your phone

There's also a pre-rooted .62 packed inside a flashable .zip somewhere among the hundreds of tutorials floating around, just make sure you look hard enough, I don't have the link handy at the moment.
Unlock your bootloader and get pre-rooted kernels to avoid this kind of problems.
BTW why not just go with ICS? mine's been running fine with it.
It says no proper root access.
Rooted on .58 successfully, updated to .62 but now it is no longer rooted.

Today I Got a Notification that there is an Update alienable for my neo and it was 14MB.
I downloaded it but My Neo was failed to install it!

OTA update don't complete when CWM is installed on the device!
Try to remove the CWM or Flash a fresh ROM and then try the OTA..

Just flashing a stock kernel won't affect your user and system data! And neither would OTA update..
But flashing a ROM would..

Receiving an OTA update is no issue! But updating the phone through it is..
Because phones are often bricked when people try to install the OTA update.. But many users have reported that installing the update is possible if you unlocked your device via test point method!
If you unlocked your device the official way, you will eventually end up bricking the phone!

Sorry bro, havnt saw the screenshot... U cant update ur phone through OTA becoz u have unlocked bootloader..Sony says do not update ur unlocked phone via OTA, it can brick ur phone..

answer: I think you have unlocked bootloader..
you need to lock it using a ftf "Xperia_Relock_bootloader.ftf" using flash method. Find in this forum for the ftf or google.

about anything u saved try go backup from google play
I had an unlocked bootloader with cm9 installed..
then i wanted stock rom so i followed a guide and relocked bootloader and restored original baseband and kernel..
but then when i start my phone then sony ericssion logo appears and it only keeps appearing and after that nothing happens..

Try to unlock again. And try to reflash Stock Rom with SEUS. You don't have to relock bootloader to flash Stock Rom, in what guide, which you follow, you read that?

Nope, donut HD can be flashed on locked/unlocked bootloader, u should know this.

their bootloader improperly, and it could brick the phone permanently.

And ya also when start phone se logo appers.. but then nothing happens..

That is bricked phone, so i ask u again :
How you restore your bootloader? detail pls!
Flash stock rom using flash tool. If you can't get flash mode in normal way try this. Take off battery, connect USB to phone, pc, hold back button, insert battery. Good luck.

Hey thanks but today i went to a shop (Nanak communication) and get my phone repaierd he too
450 rupees and also he restored my phone by usking some SETOOL2...
Please Help Guys [Solved]

I'm really glad to heared that bro .
To unlock and restore our bootloader we need to
refert to Stock Rom and Kernel ( Official stock),
This is really safe and eassiest way, btw we absolutely no need to restore our bootloader unless for warranty purpose.
