So i came across this on androidcommunity site! It was created by some xda developers around here! I installed on my atrix and it is working good has some bugs, but it is okay! The full story is on that page!

Nice find.
Less forced closures than some of the honeycomb launchers I have tried to use.

Im using it right now and not sure how I'm feeling about it. I'm not talking about bugs or anything, but things like the inability to change shortcuts on the dock and move the apps button to the right irk me.
I do like the button all to the right does. Cool looking and very useful.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Nice. But I will for the official launch when all the bugs are worked out.........I hope.
The button on the right is tits. I just hope you'll be able to customize the menu that pops up whenever you press it.
This launcher, if it's what the 2.4 launcher really is supposed to resemble in any way shape or form, is going to be fokking amazing. I just hope it has the native ability to re-size widgets. I am getting bored of all the other launchers out on the market right now. Been through them all and am bored with them.
you can make suggestions on the thread here at XDA, the developer is really passionate about this app and really wants it to be amazing! feel free to drop a review and your suggestions over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268003
It is faster than hcl and less fcs, I think it I due to the decrease in rows/columns. I think the "running apps only works on cm7 due to the stock apps installed...but correct me if I'm wrong.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I have used it all day on cm7 with no fc's at all. I got it from the bionic thread.
Edit: settings button in the scroll tabs does not work reverts to home screen.

Does cyanogen have a touch panel feature in one of its builds to add like a menu, back, home button on the status bar?
If so, how would i add that to another build?

Yes, but it's on its own status bar at the bottom of the screen (for tablets).
CM7 has it in the pull down status bar also.
It's call the Notifiction power widget.
It's under CM settings> Interface

Would there be a possible way to add that feature to a phone?

Of course it could be, you just enable it in cyanogen, but since my phone has those keys, I don't really need it personally.
If you mean porting to something not running cyanogen, that would require taking it out of the cyanogen source and adding it to whatever you are using.
Im creating this firmware for an outdated phone because people are having problems with hard buttons so i figured a feature like this would help
Alrighty il take a look

Ah, that makes sense why you wanted it now. The only problem I can think of is the latest cyanogen uses 2.3.5 android os, so if you are porting it to something else not at least using gingerbread, it could be problematic with some of the libraries/dependencies and require massive backporting.
0uch, alright so I would have to rebuild everything to gain a feature like that?
Mmm yeah I think I'll stick to button savior...

I have not rooted my EVO LTE yet. But I installed ADW EX for now and can't stand the menu button on the bottom. It takes up too much space.
I'm not a Sense fan and was hoping version 4.0 was better, but but after a couple of days I still prefer pure Android. Unfortunately I can't figure out why HTC and others are adding permanent home, and back and recent buttons when ICS looks better without them.
Even when I root and install CM9, for example, I'll have a huge menu button that takes up too much space.
Anyone see what I'm talking about?
What can we do about it?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Man I installed go launcher and I'm wondering the same exact thing. I upgraded to this phone to have a bigger screen than my s2 and I can't even do that without sense..
Does anyone know how to get rid of that menu vertical ... at the bottom?
I think an option is to use Apex or Holo launcher. They seem to be better suited for ics. Just saw a video review of it here http://goo.gl/cykps
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Another option is Nova Launcher. It is a true ICS launcher that is really slick and and does away with the three dot menu.
There is a mod that could be flash to remove menu bar and remaps it. Have you guys tried it?
Sent from my EVO using XDA
If you flash cm9 they remapped the buttons that crap is gone, it's running way better than sense also. Just a few minor issues.

But is there an official CM9 out for the evo? One thing I'm not liking is the 1gb ram and sense. Sense is still too heavy for 1 gb ram. Sometimes it takes 15-20 seconds to load the sense launcher.
I bought apex pro. Better, but when I jump to different apps then hit the home button, sometimes it takes a few seconds to load the launcher.
That just tells me memory is running out somewhere (sense).

OP, just to clarify, when you unlock and run CM9 , you WON'T have the big long menu bar. Even on sense, if you're rooted you can get rid of it.

+1 on Nova.
Running Fresh 1.0 with Nova launcher, no lag but never really had any of the Sense 4.0 reload issues that some talked about anyway. Figured it was just the GS3 people trying to troll but maybe a bad batch of cells went out too..
Anyway, NOVA is sick! Setup the way you want, gives you better visual then GO etc (IMO) and great on footprint (memory). Works very well and as the other user stated, its native to ICS anyway. Give it a shot, blows the doors off anything else I tried and no lag anywhere..
Fresh is great too IMO, there are some great multitasking tips using the ROM toolbox, adjusting heaps etc..works well also,

What you say would be a solution for my discontent. I'm going to root soon and will remove some of the sense bloatware, but removing the menu also interests me. Regarding CM9 once it's officially supported ill be on board.
I bought apex and almost bought nova instead. They both look interesting.

Just to let you know the menu button on the bottom shows because those apps having been optimized to ICS, yes after 7-8 months and developers still doing the same, thats the reason you dont see any system apps doing that, cause their optimize, I wish developers would tho
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
So it's just a matter of time before more apps are optimized? It is very annoying...
tried nova launcher today it's great!

Another option I wouldn't mind would be to hack the recent apps button to make it think it's the menu button. I'm used to long pressing the home button anyways. I think the Sgs3 is like that.

You should look around in the development section. Both issues you mentioned already have fixes.

I have a rooted galaxy s3 with custom rom but im just wandering the older version of android has that recent app menu in the notification menu which i liked, is there a way i can get it back ?
What do you mean?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Isn't that a HTC Sense thing?
I just hold the home button and use the task switcher..
This is an HTC thing. An old HTC thing.

I agree
Just like the galaxy nexus the on screen navigation keys.... Back home and recent apps button was great because on the galaxy S3 having to switch recent apps by pressing home button will wear and tear button and takes 2 seconds whereas on screen recent apps button was perfect
I know AOKP rom has this on screen keys mod but any add on that someone is developing or has developed for s3 with touchwiz framework would be winderful.... This new TW is beginning to grow on me

i think goluacher also has a recent and running apps in the menu.
Check out "Task Switcher" by gdroid on play store (com.gdroid.fastfive).
Personally I didn't like it, as the curtain doesn't close automatically. But it seems to work fine.
Maybe a developer can bake it back in once some roms start flowing. But nothing I've seen. Let us know!

Good job posting what the guy on top of you posted. How helpful.
There is a new app on the market called Multitask Shortcut, it's not free (only £0.50 though) and I have not tried it but it does seem to do what you are after (check out the video he has on the app page)...

Just switched over from Samsung Fascinate (hey nitsuj17). 4g is super fast I'm loving this phone, got all the vzw bloat disabled. Can't wait for s-off, root and all that good stuff.
I have one question though. Why is there no notification quick-settings, wasn't that added in 4.1?
Sent from my new Dinc4G using xda app-developers app
Added by nit... Settings in the upper right hand corner is similar.
I thought the one x and other HTC phones had the quick setttings tab on stock.
Sent from my new Dinc4G using xda-developers app
They did. We didn't get the recent app button remap either.

That's the way I felt till I started using it. Now I love it. I still find myself wanting the search button.

I thought I was gonna hurl the thing out a window when I first got it. Now I use the recent apps button all the time. I sure miss having them rotate though
And I agree, I miss the search button.
Long press on the home button for recent apps is more efficient use of the buttons. Then the recent apps button could be search.

Unless I am mistaken, this is how the "3-button mod" works. It will be another benefit of the pending root.

quick setting and htc on sense4/4.1/4/5/4+ has been an oddity for sure across the one series and other phones
on random ota/roms they enable it, others they disable it, others they completely remove the code
many sense4.1 ota's enabled a toggle in settings that allowed for switching of "recent" apps to menu...ours didnt for some reason
once you are rooted, custom roms fix this issue...and viperRom allows you to completely remap the long presses of all 3 buttons, and select what you want the menu to be
cant wait for root then

just realised i can remove the verizon apps tab in the app drawer, and if you just have only one tab the tab bar dosent show up. Its nice.
