[Q] LWW ICS 4.0.4 Lag Video Capture - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi Guys,
Anyone notice the lag when capturing video? I am running on ICS 4.0.4. Any idea how this can be fixed?

Yes, little lag on recording. And i have no idea of how to fix it.

Right, I did not have this on GingerBread 2.3.4 though so there must be a way to fix it. Hope someone can help us out.

Maybe a camera libs tweak?

This could be helpful a bit but there has been no lags like this on GB even the stabilizer is enabled, yeah?

Sony would be working on bug fixes Arc S, Ray and Neo V got 4.0.3 but we got 4.0.4 coz more bugs were fixed. So wait for future updates. Sony still has not released 4.0.4 for Mini and Active So after this rollout ends, they sure will work on bugs The kernel isn't changed now. we are still using the same kernel. While the Xperia S leaked screenshots show that it has a newer kernel. So we will get the kernel upgrade as well i guess

Official update to 4.0.4 for xperia ray (and others)

Hi guys,
http://blogs.sonymobile.com/products/2012/05/25/update-on-ice-cream-sandwich-rollout-for-xperia-smartphones/ here is info about update to ICS 4.0.4 for ray (and other xperias). As we remember, 4.0.3 has came with lot of problems (laggs, jerking video recording, low performence in games, battery drain). I suggest to type here what has changed in new OFFICIAL rom for xperia ray (mainly if bugs are solved).
Thx in advance
thanks for news and i hope this update be better ^^
i hope it will enable auto brightness, add status bar widgets and lockscreen notifications ...and solve bugs reported
Haha thats funny as I haven't even received official ICS in the uk. So God knows when ill get this update

But an updates note? i've installed this firmware on my ray, but i don't know what changes to 4.0.3
I updated yesterday but didn't notice much difference. I have to admit, I didn't check video recording (I hardly use it) nor 3D gaming performance.
As a few others have pointed out, the notification LED didnt appear to work after receiving an SMS or email unless you woke up the screen.

I understand, you have official 4.0.4. Can you tell what about:
- recording video in hd (what about jerking)
- games performance
- laggs
- battery consumption
comparing to gingerbread?
ok, i have found the answer by myself on sony blog. Here it is:
4.0.4 update on Xray
Pros:
*ram usage is better.UI is much more smoother.no lagging at all.
*game performanse is better.(and when exiting the game home screen opens directly.no lagging here too)
Cons:
*Calendar widget is still not showing the next event (so What's the use of this widget?)
*Video recording still lags (playback still lags)
*Dialpad is still taking 2-3 seconds to start at first try to open.
*NO notification LIGHT when you recieve a message when screen is off.
I'm still waiting for another update. Good thing is that between first and second update to ICS it was a short time.

If you don't use any ICS version....so where is problem?
Im using MIUI ICS and camera working very well...because it's based stock. I don't think you don't get any better camera than you'll find in stock based Rom. That was point.
Need any sample?

[Q] In-Call Volume is very low

Hello,
The problem came after I newly flashed MIUI JB on my Neo V. I was on CM9 before and the in-call volume was fine.
This made me unable to phone when i am outside.
It got very anoying, so i flashed AOSP JB on my phone. BUT the in-call volume is still extremly low.
I got to a conclusion that the problem must be somehow connected with JB (cause in ICS it worked and cause i tried two different JB ROMs)....
Hope someone has a solution for me.
try the Pacman rom based on 4.1.2 . Im using it and there's no such bug. I was also on cm9.1 before. AOSP Jb has this bug. you can also try AOKP jb (proximity sensor doesnt work in b4) where the bug is fixed.
Thank you for responding.
I'll try out AOKP.
And btw, I dont need to full wide when i come from AOSP JB, do I ?

Not needed. But still, its better. Also proximity sensor doesn't work.. which is a bummer.. u can try Pacman instead
Sent from my Xperia Neo V
Well, Pacman does have a lot of features.. maybe too many for me.
I like it light and simple.
And that sensor - I can live with that. But ty for the advise!

And u don't have to use all them

Well, I'm quite statisfied with AOKP JB. It has enough features and I even bought Nova Prime.
It's awesome. And everything exept the sensor is working - but we have to wait for the next update, right :good:
Thank you so much for helping me out!

[Q] Is FXP CM10 stable?

Hey,
as I'm using a neo V device, I'm awaiting a stable FXP CM10-release. After I read the news/changelog I realized that neo V (and all 2011 devices, too) are legacy devices now with CM10 done. Does this information mean that FXP is stable for all 2011 devices or just that there is a ROM based on CM10?
and before you start flaming eventually: I used the forum's search, but I didn't find anything about this topic.
Greetings,
Hyend

cm10 is the last cm version for xperia 2011 devices.
We wont get cm10.1. But that doesnt mean that we wont get updates to cm10 and bugfixes. we will get them.
It is not "fully" stable still with a few minor things like front cam etc. that dont work.
But you can use it as a daily driver.
Thank you! Guess I'll upgrade soon then - hoping the front-cam fix comes soon

About radio, for some reason, on aosp based roms, radio just works using Sony headset, or any compatible headset which has a microphone.

compass pointer in maps was spinning like crazy in the earlier versions, gonna try FXP 149 now.
btw what happened to the wipe battery setting in kernel?

[REQ] Toggle forXGO

Can anyone provide a sytem toggle for XGO with stock GB? Almost all toggle mods here are for ICS. TIA!
I dont think anyone's make a mod for it so far but, there is an app in Play Store for this
Notification Toggles
Cheers & Merry Christmas
Already tried it, thanks though. Yeah I tried almost all mods here but not working with GB. Hope someone could make a mod for it. I need to stay to GB until JB official release.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to stay stock GB so bad ?
GB Cam and ICS Cam has a very big difference that's why.
And GB is better ? ;O
In the last ICS update camera should be fixed but I still haven't got the update so who knows. Honestly Sony made GB for Xperia so good you hardly notice the difference when on ICS.

You can try Setting Extended. It is so beautiful.
And a new ICS version released. 6.1.1.b.1.54.
After this update you can also try Munjeni's V14 rom. It's so fast. Processor overclocked to 1.5 Ghz. Memory tweaks and much more.
