[Q] - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
I have an Xperia S it has been rooted and has Doomlord Kernel 2.6.3.5 11
I need to unroot and restors as the screen is cracked... how do I do this this... I think my managing to root it was a fluke in the first place...

You can return it witouth unrooting it, sony will repair it since the problem has no relation to the rooting, I can confirm this from experience.
If you want to be safe than the best way is to re-lock bootloader
and than update phone trough PC companion, because sony will also try an update

[Q] How to update rooted SK17i to stock 2.3.4 with unlocked bootloader?

Hi everyone. I've got this problem which i can't solve (nor find the solution on the net).
I have a rooted mini pro with stock 2.3.3. I've unlocked bootloader through sony ericsson website and verificated my IMEI number there. Then i've rooted my mini pro - and kept stock 2.3.3.
The 2.3.4 update is out now (PC Companion says that too), but windows keeps failing to install the MTP USB drivers when i try to connect in this mode according to guide in PC Companion. I gave up trying to update firmware this way after lots of attempts.
So i decided to try update by SEUS. When i connected in recovery mode, SEUS said that software in my device was changed and thus cannot be updated. I really don't know what to do now. I'm afraid that SE blocked updates to my IMEI number as i unlocked the bootloader, but i'm just guessing.
The question is:
Does someone know how to update my mini pro to stock 2.3.4? Is there any way to lock bootloader back as it was and get SE to know that i'm a nice guy again?
Thank you very very much for any help! I'm starting to be desperate about this.

Please list your problem simply,i sinply cant get what u mean, sorry for my english it's not my mothertongue
I think you can't update your rooted phone the normal way via SEUS or PC Companion. You need to flash your phone manually, or reset to factory state to get the official update
Simply my problem is that i want to install on my Xperia mini pro (2011) new update and installation failed. Phone is rooted and I want to install this update.

Tell us HOW you are trying and failing - are you trying to use the Sony Ericsson updater or some other tool? If so - name the tool.
If you are just trying to use Sony Ericsson's update program - called PC Companion - you need to tell us whether or not you have already installed any custom, third-party rom in place of the standard one your phone came with.
Also - since you have rooted your phone, did you do so for any particular reason - i.e. - have you installed any particular applications or customisations that required the phone to be rooted?
If not - please understand that rooting your phone is NOT necessary for normal use. Only a tiny percentage of the millions of Anfroid phones sold get rooted - it is a hack that MAY prevent your phone from working properly in certain ways - including being able to install updates from the manufacturer or service provider.
If you want to be able to safely and easily install updates directly from Sony Ericsson, unroot your phone and reset it to all defaults - after backing up any important data. Then run the update program. If you have specific apps that only work when the phone is rooted - you can alway re-root the phone afterwards then reinstall the apps - just bear in mind that different revisions of Android MAY require a different method to root and MAY require a different version of any named app.
If none of that helps - tell us exactly WHAT is failing and HOW it is failing - give EXACT details of the application you are using and EXACT details of any error messages you see on the computer and/or phone. Simply saying "it won't work" is like asking "Why won't my car start?" - impossible to answer without listing a million possible reasons.

I tried default SE update app in phone. I tried also to use PC Companion, but i am not able to connect phone in MTC mode(required for upgrade).
I think that i have no custom party ROM (Only one change I used was rooting and if there was no custom ROM i have none).
I rooted my phone for cleanup. I wan to uninstall many default applications such as Moxier, Popcap games or Wisepilor Navigation. I am not interested that something not required spent my batery. After cleanup my battery is usable 1,5 times more.

That's more useful - it appears that the problem you need to address is not the ability to update - it's the ability to connect to your computer via USB.
Please go through this in order...
Disconnect the USB cable from the phone and PC.
Go into the Sony Ericsson menu and then Connectivity.
Go into USB connection mode and select Media Transfer Mode (MTP)
Go back from the menu to the main screen.
Run PC Companion on your PC - you will get the main window showing a message saying "No Phone Connected".
Plug the USB cable into the PC and then into the phone.
PC Companion should now say "Searching Phone".
If it doesn't find your phone - remove the USB lead from the PC then unintsall PC companion. Go to the Sony Ericsson website and download and re-install PC Companion. Then run it and try again.
If PC Companion still fails to find and connect to your phone, post back - you may need to run a registry cleaner such as CCleaner to fully remove any corrupted drivers.
If PC Companion finds your phone, it will show a message regarding available updates. If updates are available, follow the onscreen instructions to install them.
If there are updates but they fail to install - post back with details.
If there is any other message - such as saying that your phone cannot be updated - post back with exact details of the message - including your current version.
One important thing to bear in mind here that hasn't been mentioned so far is the method you used to root. If you used the unlocked bootloader method, then upgrading via official path, i.e. pc companion will definately result in you failing on update. As it will brick your phone and you will have to resort to this forum for a solution. However, if you rooted using the doomlord method you should be ok cos SE won't detect the modified software when attempting the update.

problem with upgrade
Hi, I had the same problem (rooted phone - locked bootloader) because I attepmted to upgrade the phone ota - through the phone. It did not work but at the same time from this moment on the phone was imossible to connect in the mode suitable for upgrade. The solution is SEUS because in this program the phone connects while it is switched off and it really works.

[Q] UNABLE TO ROOT XPERIA MINI ST15i - even downgrading build #.

Good day,
Hello, this is my first time writing a thread here in xda. I really need your help guys, i've been reading threads from other sites regarding rooting android devices. I just bought my SE Xperia mini ST15i last Mar. 23, 2012, i had good time using this phone. Though i had read reviews about it that this phone had the "heating" issue, it's price and hardware specs caught my interest that made me buy this phone.
i enjoyed downloading free apps and games in the Android Market, which i found amusing for a first time android user. I have some previous phones from SE, the walkman series - which all of them were modded personally by me.
At first i was reluctant to mod my xperia. But apps and games which require "root" access had me craving for them. Because i've read reviews and threads that rooting your device not only can optimize its performance but boost it as well. So, just as i decided to root my xperia. I tried the method of rooting it without having to unlock the bootloader. All the necessary requirements ( adb drivers, stock FW, flashtool and DoomLord's rooting tool ) where met. I flashed it with the .368 stock fw. After it was done, went on the next step of rooting via DoomLord's rooting tool. Followed all the instructions, but i got a message with terms like; "read only", "are you root", "failed to install superuser.apk". I don't understand why the rooting process failed, since i have flashed it with the required .ftf file. I also double checked the adb drivers and found my device on the PC's "other" devices with the term adb interface, something like that.
I tried repeating the process, but to no avail, i still get the same negative message. I'm confused, and lost hopes that i could root my xperia. Could it be that my bootloader was still locked? Does the locked bootloader have issues on the rooting process. I read threads that its possible to root w/o unlocking the bootloader. I was really on this method since i have no plans of using custom roms. Hope you could help a fellow noob like me solve this problem. I spent hours searching the web for threads but got me left with nothing. Any help would be highly appreciated. Sorry for my grammar=(.
Thanks in advance.

Unroot Sony Xperia SP (C5303) & Remove Superuser. Restore original firmware

THIS METHOD MAY UNROOT MANY OTHER SONY XPERIA PHONES. (USE SONY PC COMPANION TO EASILY UNROOT YOUR SONY XPERIA PHONE OR TABLET).
I made a mistake and rooted my Sony Xperia SP smartphone. I wanted to unroot the phone and remove Superuser. The phone had a Chinese Superuser after I followed instructions on a YouTube video: "How to Root Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (Universal Method)"
Initially I tried to flash the phone with the latest firmware (currently 12.0.A.2.254). I found software to flash the phone (Flashtool), but I could not find the drivers required by the program FlashTool. (No need to do this).
Sony has software (Emma) to flash xperia phones, but the Sony Xperia SP is not supported. You also need a username and password after approval by Sony. (No need to do this)
The above methods were NOT necessary for me to unroot my Xperia SP phone, and it didn't work for me.
I used the following method to successfully UNROOT my Xperia phone:
1. This step is NOT necessary. You can just go to step 2
1.1 Delete all data on SD card: On Phone go to Settings, Storage, Erase SD card.
1.2 Reset the phone: On the Xperia: Settings + (Under Personal) Backup & Reset. This removed previously installed apps, but didn't remove Superuser. The phone was still rooted.
2. USE SONY PC COMPANION TO REPAIR PHONE
2.1 Install Sony PC Companion.
( This software loads automatically on your PC when you connect your phone to a PC. This software is used to upgrade the software on the phone. The Sony Xperia SP phone promps to install this software when it is connected to a PC.)
2.2 I did not make any changes to any settings on the phone after the reset done in step 1. No need to make any changes of any settings on phone.
2.3 Connect the phone with USB cable to PC, and wait for PC companion to show its connected to phone. No need to change any settings on phone.
2.4 On SONY PC COMPANION, just go to SUPPORT ZONE, and click on START
Under the heading PHONE TABLET SOFTWARE UPDATE, click on START and follow the instructions.
2.5 Software downloads and reinstall the latest software for the phone.
2.6 Disconnect phone from PC when prompted.
3. IT took me about 10 minutes to UNROOT the phone.
4. In order to verify the phone is Unrooted I downloaded Root Checker Basic from Google Play / Android App store. I received the info, Sorry! This device does not have proper root access. Therefore the device is UNROOTED, and back to standard.
5. The (Chinese) Super user (blue shield) application is also deleted from the phone.
I hope this will help. It's a very quick, easy and effective solution to unroot Sony Xperia SP (C5303) mobile phones.
I believe you can use this method with other Sony Xperia phones supported by Sony PC companion software.

[Q] Upgrading Xperia mini pro sk17i from stock rom

I have an Xperia mini pro sk17i with 2.3.4 Android. I'd like to flash newer/custom roms to it, but I've got a few questions/issues.
So far I've removed the sim lock and I *think* (it was a while ago now) I have unlocked the boot loader with the test point method. In service info it says "rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed :yes", is that what I should see after a test point unlock? I also tried the fastboot.exe unlock, but that comes back saying that "phone is already unlocked". I don't recall whether I've rooted the phone or not.
Next step is I'd really like to take a backup of my stock rom before I reflash it. Is there a way to read the current firmware back off the phone and make an image file of it? Everything I found talks about a slightly different way to get it - using SUS (which doesn't work any more), or PC companion to download the firmware from Sony, and then create an image file from that. PC companion (v2.1) seems to get stuck in an infinite loop. Whenever it detects the phone, it comes up on the phone screen: "do you want to install the pc companion software on your computer". If I say yes it just downloads and installs what is already there. And then it just tells me that my phones memory is not accessible, and to check for sim card and screen unlocked. Even if they both are, it won't detect it.
I also tried to use the Sony program called "Emma", which I think does the same thing, but in bootloader mode? Yesterday I got it started and connected my phone, and I think it said my phone still needed boot loader unlocking first (but I thought it was. maybe not then)?? Today Emma won't even load - it says Win XP isn't supported any more, but I'm sure it worked yesterday on this pc!
I don't want to go any further without backing up the stock firmware if possible, so what should I try next?
Install CWM recovery then do a backup. Look around the stickies for links, there's plenty of tutorials for it. Good luck :
