The issue -
When attempting to do the S-OFF step in this guide :LINK: I get an error in my CMD window.
Now, I have successfully rooted the phone and installed CWM with LeeDroid ROM just like the guide specifies so what's going wrong here?

Also I figured out that the "fastboot oem lock" command relocks the bootloader however my phone automatically reboots into the ROM and not bootloader.
SIMPLY - I don't get the option to input "fastboot oem reboot bootloader" but my bootloader does relock.
Phone information:
Model - HTC EVO 3D X515a
HBOOT - 1.49.0012
Ps. Also how do I find out my CID version?

Use fastboot oem getvar cid to get your cid.
Or you can download an app called cid getter from the play store.
Update: My CID is TELST001

It seems you have a branded phone, go to unlimited.io and follow the guide to attain s-off

For branded, that's the only way..if you were unbranded you could have used revolutionary, check out the s-off thread in the gsm development subforums to check for your cid...

if we restore Success we can flash RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.2 With PG86IMG.zip to downgrade our hboot

I'm on 1.49.0012 aswell and have done abit of research and checked the 1.49.007 HBOOT with a hex editor and found where it does the version check.
Only issue is I've read its not as simple as just changing the code as any small change could potentially leave you with a bricked device. Whilst these theory's are good and could potentially lead to a downgrade, they could also potentially lead to bricked devices so probably best we leave it to a developer.

u can use fastboot getvar all to check ur cid number.....or PG86DIAG.nbh to check the cid

You have two options. One is to make it s-off with AlphaRev, the other is to unlock boot loader with HTCdev method you mentioned. These are not the same. With unlocking you loose warranty as stated by HTC but with s-off you can always revert back to unlocked boot loader make it look like never being rooted/s-offed.
AlphaRev doesnt detect the desire
and when i tried HTCdev way i had to update using the RUU files there... they didn't want to run on desire
wanted to make goldcard so i can use that way... the goldcard generator is down...
what to do now?
I wouldn't know about Desire. Are you sure you're not lost? This is Legend forum...

From your post above you are s-off so you can skip that part. Use the large file install as it will replace all parts.
Make sure you have ample charge before attempting

I have exactly the same model and this method doesn't work .. i've tried that for 4 times
Any issue with this? or should I try the HTCDEV unlock method again? I was unlocked but not sure when it went back to locked. Had to be during flashing something I guess. Thanks Hboot is 1.15

No. That text is irrelevant if you're S-OFF. However I do recommend you flash back to the LazyPanda 1.22.2222 HBOOT, either on the unlimited.io site directly, or using the RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer. That'll allow you to fastboot flash through the bootloader again.

Yes. If you flash the one from the LP site, the banner will say

If you use the Bootloader Customizer, you can make it say whatever you want .

well if you did not change the phone in anyway, then you have a pc problem, try install all the right htc drivers again. And then you need the latest adb files to. When you are using the latest adb you will have to confirm the connection on the phone so pay attention to that.
Locate the adb folder and replace the adb.exe with this one
