Earlier this week I told you guys about the issues the Google was working on in order to get Google Wallet working on our phones. (It wasn't working yet. See here)
Well, they seem to be all resolved now and adding the prepaid card to your Google Wallet takes just a minute or two. (Ignore the "unsupported device" message. that's just because I'm rooted but I assure you, it is indeed working just fine.)

Does not work. Change the title of this thread to "Google Wallet is kindaskimpy when it comes to working..."
Not working on mine either. Just tried it. Non Rooted.
I even went into the settings and reset google wallet and tried it from scratch. Still not working for me.
Guys do this
1. Reset Default Settings Through Wallet.
2. Go To Market And Uninstall Wallet Updates.
3. Enable Root Through SuperUser.
4. Change Lines In Build.prop(1st "to.product.model=GT-I9300 ONLY worked for me, DO NOT Delete the newly created "build.prop.bak".)
5. Disable Root.
6. Reboot.
7. Install Wallet Update.
8. Setup Wallet & Activate Card.
9. Wait For Card To Be Added Successfully(Will Get Notification Within 2 Minutes).
10. Force Stop Wallet Through Settings -> Apps.
11. Enable Root And Revert "build.prop" back. 12. Disable Root.
13. Reboot.
14. Open Wallet And Check To Ensure Card Is Still Active And Showing Balance Of $10 IFNot Already Used The Initial Free $10.
This Is My Process So Far. Let Me Know Your Experience. Not sure about other Root Browsers but Root Explorer actually creates a backup of "build.prop" tye way it was before modifications and what I did once I was ready to restore the lines to the initial text was just delete the "build.prop" file and renamed "build.prop.bak" to "build.prop".

Your assuming everybody wants to root. Not everybody wants to root their phone for an app to work, especially when its supposed to work with out root.
Im only speaking for my self though. Im sure there are those who want to root and this info is helpful.

Must have been something recent (in the last year), I didn't have that option when I was on HERO
ok. I just downloaded some of those 10c apps a moment ago. When I first wanted to pay for them, it said, "bill to my sprint account" but it was greyed out and not available.
I saw a little tab saying that I needed to accept new terms from sprint. Once I checked that tab, I was able bill to sprint again.
I do know that I read a while back that this was being discontinued. The overall tone of the comments were not favorable. Perhaps Sprint got some negative feedback and decided to bring that option back with a new terms and conditions.
I think Sprint Did Away with it... But if it Still Works for some then thats Weird! Maybe it has something to do with the Market version your using?

Yes there is a solution... Download the app by supercurio called "OTA ROOTKEEPER" THIS WILL allow you temporarily unrOOt your phone and make the market videos app think ur phone is stock. Try it...i use it and works perfect.
Edit: for those who need to know how to use it. Download it. Click protect root. Then it will ask you two things. Click the second option which says temporarily unroot. Then watch ur movie. After your done with your market movie. Open ota ROOTKEEPER and click the unroot again and it will give u root back.

It is very unusual. I'm able to stream Netflix movies over cellular. I called the Google Play support and they asked that I call AT&T. AT&T says there is no such restrictions on my account. So now I'm waiting to hear back from the Google Play team. I wonder if the google play movies software is buggy. can someone else confirm?
Thanks! I can use the Google Play on my Note now!

using root explorer is the easiest way. find it in root explorrer, make a backup just in case, open it in any text editor, edit the nescessary parameters, then replace the original with your edited version in root explorer. to copy and paste in that directory in root explorer, at the top of the app there is a small button that says mount r/w, click it to enable write access in that folder and you will be able to paste it there.
also, by r he means in the device name. there is an r after it for rogers, and if you arent running saurom then this really wont pertain to you as the at&t stock rom will not have that in the build.prop. saurom does however because it is from a canadian rom on the rogers network
Can anyone post a pic of which r to remove. Cause removing to many R's will kill the s pen.

Being rooted has never had anything to do with the problem. The only thing I know I did differently prior to it working was doing the marketplace error fix of unsynching gmail and rebooting, then resynching gmail and rebooting.

Make sure you wallet is not been setup, if it has, reset it to factory.
before you start wallet, disable super user (I'm running super SU v0.93)
(open super SU,settings, UNCHECK enable super SU)
setup wallet until you see your balance and the wallet is activated.
exit wallet.
enable super SU
open wallet, set it up and that's all, it worked for me, I hope it works for you..!!

Not to take anything away from the OP
But there is a much easier way to do this I've been using since I rooted.
Download: hide my root from the market

And simply hide the root when you need to. Works for any app you'd want to temporary excuse root from your system for.

I cant even get into the setup, keeps giving me the unsupported device message at the very beginning.
I bought the phone from someone else recently, and cleared storage as well as a factory reset before I rooted the phone using HTC Dev, then used lazy panda for S-off. I didnt try to set it up before I did any of this, could that be causing the roadblock i'm having?
I tried modifying the build.prop and turning off root, didnt work, neither did hide my root.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Here's a modded version of the latest Google Wallet for those of you getting the "Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile carrier." The device check is removed.
You will still see unsupported device on rooted devices, but it works perfect.
It will work on any aosp Rom. (Cm10, aokp, paranoid android, codefire x, etc.) Or any sense ROM.
Remove any previous versions of Google Wallet before.
Push apk to /system/app/ and change permissions to rw-r--r--

Here's a flashable zip thanks to kaos420: https://www.dropbox.com/s/usx877gnoxdrytw/latest-Patched.Wallet.Deodexed.zip

You guys are gutsy installing a modified app that deals with your credit cards. Is it really worth risking your information being stolen just to remove a small message?

Yes when it doesn't work on the device. This makes it work. All that is modified is the device check check silly.

That is false. It is only a message. Google does not disable anything.

On a serious note, all that was modified is the device/carrier check. Stock unmodified wallet does not work at all on most aosp and some custom sense ROMs due to build.prop changes and other factors. The message you're referring to is the message of 'unsupported device' from being rooted. You're correct, that does not affect usage.

you sir have no idea what your talking about.
The unsupported device message at the top of the google wallet screen on rooted devices is NOT what we are needing the modified wallet for.
On AOSP the build prop is so different, Google wallet doesnt recognize the device as a supported model, so when you launch wallet, it states not supported and immediately closes the application.
Now you have been educated.
Loaded it up but it will not add my card? Just loads and loads...

You probably had the "modaco" version which also removed the country check as well as the carrier/device and other checks. I haven't bothered to look and see if the modaco version has been updated but sounds like you may need to wait for it unless someone wants to strip more from here...
not working for me, it's asking me to update after installing the apk :[

In went with the flashable version and it worked like a charm from the get go. Flash, clear dalvik/cache and you should be ready to roll.
