if you are rooted and you're using google wallet you'll see an unsupported device warning, wallet still works but it's annoying.,
here's what I did.
Make sure you wallet is not been setup, if it has, reset it to factory.
before you start wallet, disable super user (I'm running super SU v0.93)
(open super SU,settings, UNCHECK enable super SU)
setup wallet until you see your balance and the wallet is activated.
exit wallet.
enable super SU
open wallet, set it up and that's all, it worked for me, I hope it works for you..!!
you sir, are awesome! i'll try to make a video on this soon.
Technically, shouldn't this be somewhere other than general,
so that more people see this? Cause it's freaking awesome!
thank you

I have watched your videos before, you've helped me a lot, it's awesome that you are posting a video, I've been using android for about a year, but I know how computers think ( a little bit) so I thought I give it a try...
I didn't know where to put this post, because I don't know the rules here that well, but if you know how to move it, let's do it....:good:
Apparently Im doing something wrong. I did a full reset on GW. Shut off the SU. Set up GW till it reflected the free $10.00 balance. I close GW. I went and enabled SU. Open up GW and the Yellow unsupported strip is back. It only goes away when I disable SU
Stays off for me what rom are you using? I'm using liquidsmooth 1.7

Also I update my radio, and a few other things with the latest update 1.22, not the hboot!

Same here. I rebooted the phone with the SU disabled from settings of the SU app et voila! No more ugly unsupported device bar. Went back and enabled SU after reboot. Oh, should mention that I reset and setup gw before the reboot.

Not to take anything away from the OP
But there is a much easier way to do this I've been using since I rooted.
Download: hide my root from the market
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.hidemyroot
And simply hide the root when you need to. Works for any app you'd want to temporary excuse root from your system for.

I cant even get into the setup, keeps giving me the unsupported device message at the very beginning.
I bought the phone from someone else recently, and cleared storage as well as a factory reset before I rooted the phone using HTC Dev, then used lazy panda for S-off. I didnt try to set it up before I did any of this, could that be causing the roadblock i'm having?
I tried modifying the build.prop and turning off root, didnt work, neither did hide my root.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Remember, we have nand write lock. Even if these tools worked (which they won't because they were patched in later versions of gingerbread hence the reason we have zergRush) the root would go away shortly after getting it and definatley after a reboot.

Earlier this week I told you guys about the issues the Google was working on in order to get Google Wallet working on our phones. (It wasn't working yet. See here)
Well, they seem to be all resolved now and adding the prepaid card to your Google Wallet takes just a minute or two. (Ignore the "unsupported device" message. that's just because I'm rooted but I assure you, it is indeed working just fine.)

Not working on mine either. Just tried it. Non Rooted.
I even went into the settings and reset google wallet and tried it from scratch. Still not working for me.
Guys do this
1. Reset Default Settings Through Wallet.
2. Go To Market And Uninstall Wallet Updates.
3. Enable Root Through SuperUser.
4. Change Lines In Build.prop(1st "to.product.model=GT-I9300 ONLY worked for me, DO NOT Delete the newly created "build.prop.bak".)
5. Disable Root.
6. Reboot.
7. Install Wallet Update.
8. Setup Wallet & Activate Card.
9. Wait For Card To Be Added Successfully(Will Get Notification Within 2 Minutes).
10. Force Stop Wallet Through Settings -> Apps.
11. Enable Root And Revert "build.prop" back. 12. Disable Root.
13. Reboot.
14. Open Wallet And Check To Ensure Card Is Still Active And Showing Balance Of $10 IFNot Already Used The Initial Free $10.
This Is My Process So Far. Let Me Know Your Experience. Not sure about other Root Browsers but Root Explorer actually creates a backup of "build.prop" tye way it was before modifications and what I did once I was ready to restore the lines to the initial text was just delete the "build.prop" file and renamed "build.prop.bak" to "build.prop".

Being rooted has never had anything to do with the problem. The only thing I know I did differently prior to it working was doing the marketplace error fix of unsynching gmail and rebooting, then resynching gmail and rebooting.

What does it mean to have security disabled?
The security thing is for those of you that only rooted and did not use the bootloader unlock exploit. Just make sure you have a CMW backup that works before using.
Speaking of backups, I found out (the hard way) that backups taken with the original non-touch freegree CWM do not restore! My problem with the Google Now and android.process.acore was cleared up with a simple clear data per adfurgerson's suggestion, so no harm no foul for me. But if you still have the non-touch version of CWM, install the touch version THEN take a backup.

Visit: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
First check in settings -> security -> device administrators to verify google has pushed it to you as seen here. Check mark it to install.
View attachment 2174635
Then check out Google settings located in app drawer. Tap adm at the bottom

make sure your location settings are all checked
Hmmm, I've got it. I'm on old release of dirty unicorn. I just can't decide if I wanna activate it, it sounds kinda spooky lol . I mean, wouldn't this make it easier for someone else to wipe my device remotely, or set a pin lock I don't know?
What's funny is when I just opened XDA app, on top of the front page was a thread about android device manager, didn't read it.

I got it to work. I had everything checked in Google location setting but it wasn't working still, so I just toggled the Google location service off and than turned it on and I guess that did the trick.

So, is no one else a little leery of the possible applications for this? I mean, what do you guys think the benefits of this are?

Well if you lose your phone, just login with your Google account and locate or wipe your phone. At least that is why i am signing up for this.

Who's gonna be guinea pig and push the wipe button to see what the procedure is? LOL I'd do it but I'm lazy and dont feel like backing up then wiping then reloading it all back up. Yep just lazy.

Cool thanks. Solved my curiosity. Though like he said in video, how does it work with custom recovery...same way I'd assume.
