Is Samsung even going to release any accessories for the Tab 2 tablets? I know no one here can answer that. Looking at the original Tab accessories I thought they would be doing the same for the new Tabs too. I'm beginning to think I thought wrong.
Any thoughts or guesses?
My thoughts exactly! I'm desperately looking for a keyboard-case and I really prefer original stuff. So Samsung, what the hell is going on?

Well I do believe the car charger is on the website. Months after the release and all we have are accessories left over from the first series of Tabs. Got a feeling that we will not see any till the Note is about to be released ... If at all.
So Samsung can't offer us any accessories for our Tab 2's but now the Tab 2 7.0 Student edition can now be purchased with a keyboard. There is no keyboard on their site claiming to brew compatible with the tab so I guess it's new. Any idea? I have been waiting on a keyboard for this tablet for my wife.

It is a portrait dock. There's a model on Samsung's site that looks like this stock burr listed as being only compatible with only one of the older tablets. This means there's it's something coming for the reassert ours us. Finally.
Portrait is a little cheesy. Almost faster to use Swype in portrait mode. A keyboard dock in landscape would be awesome, although the power Ports on the side would be a challenge. I probably will go down to best buy later to check it out.

I have a galaxy tab 10.1 but am wondering if theres anyone out there who has tried both the tab and the jetstream. Im seriously thinking of switching because im a med student and the pen does wonders for my bio classes. I have a htc view also that I use the pen for to label anatomy but am curious if I should just get rid of both of these and go to the jetstream. any comments would help.
Thanks in advance!!!

Though I am biased because I love the HTC Sense UI, I can't really give you a good opinion. BUT, my roommate has a galaxy tab and I am not impressed with it. the Jetstream is just much more functional in every way.
Again, my biased opinion.
I have had both and I much prefer the Jetstream over the Galaxy Tab. I don't use the pen very often and there are a lot more accessories for the Galaxy Tab. I find the experience on the Jetstream much more enjoyable to me. I have never been a big fan of Samsung's phones or tablets, they seem very plasticky to me. I much prefer the build of HTC devices and the Sense UI. I also have the HTC Vivid in white and prefer it over the AT&T Galaxy S II for the same reasons. If it was me I would pick this over the Galaxy Tab any day or any other manufacturer over Samsung. Just my opinion though.
I've been through medical school and would definitely go with a device that has a digitizer pen, especially for your first two years. This will allow you to take notes in your own handwriting and keep up with the lectures.

looks like I may be switching soon...especially now that my favorite developer, task 650 is over here now!!!
The HTC Jetstream is absolutely wonderful. I am a doctor in India. Used to earlier manage on a desktop and a Symbian phone (ancient not the word). Used the galaxy tab and saw, did not find much of a functionality difference with it compared to the combo of laptop and Nokia X6 with exception of.perhaps portability.with a.larger screen compared to the X6. Hot myself the HTC Jetstream and my entire preparation and study design.have changed and dare I say, I am really really loving it. Always think that had I had this during my Med school, I would have had a totally different study experience. The digital pen does.wonders not only with the notes in my own handwriting (use Quill for that-way better compared to the native notes app) but even the ability to highlight, annotate and stuff with the native PDF viewer plus the availabilty of my favourite ebook reader islilo which works perfectly-all these got the HTC Jetstream to win.hands down over the galaxy tab. Hope this helps.

Jetstream UI is amazing, unit is way more solid. Only real draw back between the 2 is the weight of the HTC.

WHAT?
I love the heaviness. To me, it means it is not plastic dollar store quality. I have an expensive peice of technology. Holding the Gtab in one hand and the Jetstream in the other is like whoa.
I enjoy it being heavy.
I'm looking to get a tablet with a stylus very shortly.
I've noticed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is to be released in June 2012, and has a stylus as well, this will be interesting comparison with Jetstream.

Depends on your application with the stylus. If you wish to annotate and/or highlight stuff, better with the Jetstream/Flyer. Used the stylus of Samsung Galaxy Note and I wasn't impressed with its opton for note taking and annotations. The inbuilt/stock PDF viewer on the Jetstream is way way better. If you want the Sam function on the Note, you need to use eZpdf or something else.I am not saying that is a bad option, but I somehow prefer the stock PDF viewer with Jetstream for annotation and stuff. If however, your main use of the stylus would be only occasional use for signing documents or using it for occasional notes, then you could go in for either. I do not know the specifications of the Note tab. So best suggestion would be to wait for its release, read up some reviews about it before taking the plunge for either of them.
Regarding the Jetstream, only drawback with it which I can pinpoint is that HTC doesn't provide us with timely updates and that may not seem to be the case with Samsung. So if that a priority, then Samsung may be a better bet. Recently helped a friend of mine chose between the Note phone and HTC Flyer. He got the Flyer and has been happy with it compared to the functionality of the stylus and stuff in comparision to the note, if that helps.
Hope you get a device just right for you, but do so only after seeing complete specs and a few review of the Galaxy Note Tab.

I do not have any problem with streaming videos and movies. Watch extensively. I do use a 3rd part app called MX Video player - which allows me to watch movie files on the memory. I do not know of the problem you are speaking about.
It has Sense 3.1 or Sense 1.0 for Tablet (both mean the same as I gather)
I would still suggest you wait, hold on till the detailed specs are out, some reviews are out for the Note tab and then decide.
Thanks,

Has HTC confirmed any Sense upgrade for Jetstream. I know on some other devices they were promised to get 3.5 or 3.6, which is basically 4.0 without some of the 4.0 features?
I would be horrified if there was no upgraded for such an expensive device.

yeah.. last month.. at Best Buy, the Samsung rep was displaying the 7 plus and the bigger tab and the Galaxy Player 5..
He dammn near wigged out when I pulled my GNote out to size up the other stuff..
Said he's never even heard of it.
He messed with it for a bit.. then tried the Styles on the 7 plus...
It didnt work on that one either..
I have both the Note and the Tab 7.7. the NOTE stylus is proprietary to the G Note only and does not work on the Tab 7.7 or any other androids tablets or smartphones
The note has a special screen tech that allows the pen to work with it which none of the tablets gave so no its not going to work

Supposedly, the hardware of the 7.7 has the same tech. I don't remember who originally posted it. If that's the case, and it's just a software disabled feature, maybe it's possible to enable it? Who knows...
I have a Note too. Just got my 7.7. If it had the same screen tech, this would absolutely be the killer device. I hope it does but I'll buy one when it comes out if this one doesn't. Can you imagine the note taking and drawing apps that could be made?
Samsung's using an exclusive s-pen chip on board, it's hardware capability, recently only Note has this chip. I heard samsung will apply the s-pen chip to the wider screen in the future. Let's wait see...
Sent from my GT-P6800 using Tapatalk
It's not so much a special chip as there is another layer within the touchscreen (it uses the WACOM pen technology). I'd be surprised if they went to the expense of using it here without actually marketing it (but stranger things have happened).
Check out the Special Offer sticker at 1.55. Free Stylus!

The s-Pen is not capacitive. It's a wacom digitizer. Remember the OQO 5 inch computers back in 03-06. It's actually old technology in the orginal tablets in the late 90s and early 2000s. I think

Cnet has a pretty good write up talking about it, but I thought it odd, but interesting, to compare something so small to something so big. While I don't agree that one requiring a full size dedicated tablet could easily forego that need in favor of a Note, I do find that they offer up some good talking points. I gave up my nook color for the time being, things are working out well for me so far, but time will tell.

Just wait until Samsung OFFICIALLY announces the tab 10.1/11.6 perhaps even today . Just like before right after Apple releases their iPad Samsung will come out and top it. Last year Samsung went ahead and changed the ergonomics of the Tab 10.1 within weeks to have a slimmer lighter tablet compared to the iPad lol .
It was originally rumored to have a dual core CPU that similar to our Note phones with the same resolution. I have a really really good feeling that will not be the case that it could have a even faster CPU, & mind you that have not even said what the GPU is. I can assure you that Samsung has prob made changes to that of the specs we seen at Mobile World Congress, i hope
They will not let Apple go about their glory without a fight. Especially after them taking shots at the Galaxy tab during their keynote. Which someone at Samsung has already commented on lol.
Samsung has a rumor going around that they are "pocketing" a Galaxy Note tab 11.6" with a resolution of 2650x1600 beating out the new ipad by a million pixels.
Either way Samsung has something big today at 4pm central. Could it be the new Note tablet, ICS for our Notes? Galaxy S3. Who knows its still Samsung so lets not hold our breath lol.
I dunno about you but id love to buddy up my Galaxy Note with a 11.6" version
Well they I kinda only compared one set of features that really were pretty much the same thing. Cool but they over looked a lot of stuff on the iPad. This is coming from someone who hates apple products.
Sent from the best phone in the world Galaxy Note!!!
I will be interested in the Galaxy Note 10.1 once it comes out. I just pre ordered the new ipad. (I had a $500 gift card from a sales contest). It delivers March 16th. Depending on when the Galaxy Note 10.1 is coming out, I may sell the ipad. Does anyone know when it is coming?
I love Apple products, as a shareholder! Wish Samsung was publicly traded in the US!
Hey all,
My Jetstream was stolen on the weekend, and I need to get a new tablet. However, I want one with an active (aka pressure-sensitive) stylus, as I had grown quite attached to that feature on the Jetstream.
My initial reaction was to get a Flyer or another Jetstream, but I started wondering if there's a more popular tablet (aka one that has/will get ICS and/or JB) that has the same functionality.
Thoughts anyone?
Lenovo Thinkpad is an option - it also comes with an active N-trig stylus. They already have ICS. But I am not so very sure of the pricing and the hardware. Other option would be to wait for the Note 10 inch which I have no idea about but seems to be well spoken of like most other Samsung devices. I found the Jetstream to have the best hardware combo - only drawback as you know the software development which seems to have developed some interest as of now. If i were in your situation, would have gone for a Jetstream again because I like the Sense UI better than others.
Cool, I didn't know about the Lenovo... although a guy I sometimes work with has one, and it's thick and ugly.
I was just reading about the Samsung Note 10.1 and it looks awful tempting, I think I'll probably hold out for that. I've got an HP TouchPad with CM9 on it that I can cope with for the next few weeks. (And hopefully the Nexus 7 spurs Samsung to drop the retail price of the Note 10.1 down from the rumoured $500.)

i'd consider microsoft slate if i was looking for a tablet nowadays..
One of my big disappointments with the Nexus 7 is that it can't be used as a phone (meaning GSM, not data/wifi-based).
As of now, it seems to me the best tablet which can be used as a phone is still the samsung galaxy tab 7.7 (assuming the Note 10.1 is too big to carry around, personal preference, that). Of course, that one looks like it's never getting JB or any other updates from Samsung (so much for the 1 and a half year pledge...).
Any other recommendations? Seen rumours of a 7 or 7.7-inch note, that would fit the bill assuming I can afford it.
