I have a .yaffs file taken from an odin tar.md5, i am trying to open/view/unpack it (in windows). Any tools i have found (yaffey, ext2explore) won't work to view it. Have done some googling, and have come up empty-handed. Anyone got any clues?

I guys. I kinda need some help. I flashed Transformer 1.0 and some files are missing.
I reaaaaaally don't wanna flash it again so can you please post those files for me? or just teach me a way to retrieve them from the rom? (loved to do that)
I used the exes from the kitchen rom soft from the forum and got access to the os.nb files but still the files I need aren't there.
I guess maybe they're on the nbf file from pdaviet's temp rom but couldn't access the files inside it.
The files are the exes for:
\windows\timewizard.exe
msn live(pmsnlive something .exe)
the terminal exe
zip
Could you mail them or post them on rapidshare? I can put a full path and name here from the files here...
Thanks in advance
got the timewizard.exe around the forum
but still some files missing
did you a hard reset?
Yes I did. when it prompted me for the calibration.
I did it again and everything's fine now!
Thanks

Okay so I downloaded everything as per the tutorial as per this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290798 . I have searched several different sites and many different threads, almost finding my answer. My problem is that when I download the files they show up as image files and not tar. I am having some sort of problem with .tar file name with Odin. I found several links of how to, and great info but none of them are solving my problem. I found a link that almost had what I needed to fix it or was in the right direction, but somehow lost it or closed it. When searching using pda, the files do not appear in the file folder. For some reason they show as images in the file on my desktop. This is before and after extracting to see if either way made a difference. I even re-downloaded the links and they still show as image. I even tried typing it in manually it seemed to find the file but still did not work. I am using winrar one of the links I found said to try win7 or something but I couldnt get that to work either. I just want to root my new toy. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Bump

Hi guys im a noob to the forums and to rom customization in general looking for some help
I have a generic MX dual core, and have been supplied a flash firmware and image from the supplier. This image is basic and has a lot of bloatware apps which i want to remove and put some of my own
The image supplied is a zipfile and contains:
factory_update_param.aml
hd18d_mx4.zip
recovery.img
I am able to successfully restore my box with this image (so I know that the image is working fine).
Within the hd18d_mx4.zip there is:
Directotories: data, META-INF, recovery, system
files: boot.img, bootloaded.img, logo.img
I can see the all the system APK files within the system/app folder. The problem is when i try to add another APK file into this directory within the archive (in this case videomix.apk), I am not able to restore the image to the MX device.
Can anyone help me with a noobies guide to do this. I have read that the apk file has to be signed, and the zip file has to be signed also?? But im not quite sure what this means, nor how I go about doing it.
Any help or tutorials will be much appreciate. I have downloaded the APK-multi-tool but dont have a clue what I need to do
Look forward to your replies.
P.S. Im using a windows 32 bit machine
anyone???
