What does OTA means?
What about CWM
Can anyone explain what rooting means? And unlocking bootloader and all that stuff?
Little google and search on XDA can easily get those answers. let me reply you anyways.
1. OTA - Over the Air update.
2. CWM - ClockWorkMod - Type of recovery
3. Rooting - Gain access to root folder
I guess this is kick start now onwards let search be your friend...

OTA means Over the air : The official updates that sony releases can be downloaded through OTAofficially through ur phones update center app
Rooting ,Unlocking bootloader: Rooting means giving administrator rights to ur phone..it gives u access to androids system files and apps ... it could harm ur device ..so its important to learn a bit about it ..
Unlocking boot loader : Bootloader is a small script written to help the device to load the operating system. All sony phones come with a locked bootloader that means u cannot install custom ROMS developed by the developers . To install custom roms ..U hv to unlock bootloader ..
Rooting and Unlocking Bootloader does void ur warranty ..that means u r no longer in warranty of ur phone ..if anything happens after rooting and unlocking bootlaoder .its all up to u ..sony officially will not help u
CWM means clock work mode recovery : It is a small app that helps u install certain zips and modification and also custom roms and create a backup of ur system
To knw hw to Root , unlock bootloader and install CWM ..go to : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269 .
Please read the post in the link carefully and follow the instructions ..

It works really well, except... for installing ROMs ('cause most if not all of them expect that your bootloader is unlocked).
You can use this for:
- nandroid backup
- flashing anything other than full ROMs
- clearing battery stats etc
Can we flash custom kernels using this app for se live with walkman
no. you need unlocked bootloader.
The status of my bootloader says: bootloader unlock allowed - no. What method can i use? the test point method or will the official unlock method work?
you need to network unlock means sim unlock via setool or wotanserver first and its paid.
and read rules before posting. post in correct section. this thread in for CWM installation not bootloader unlock.
Oh ok. I hit thanks by the way
Is there a way to root my neo running firmware 4.0.2.a.0.62 without using fastboot
I have unlocked bootloader using test point
But the phone is sim locked so its not possible to boot into fastboot mode by holding the menu key and plugging in usb
Is the no other method to root this version other than fastboot
DooMLoRD method does not root the device either
Even though i am sim locked can i still install custom roms if i was eventually able to somehow get cwm on the device

no way. you need to downgrade to 42, and read this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468866
which you could found if you search a bit(actually it's on the same page.. and in the sticky roll-up thread), user with 300+ posts should know that.

only the ones which doesn't require custom kernel, but most of them does.

And of course i searched but was unsuccessful
No need to unlock bootloader to root phone.
You only have to use flashtool to flash .42
then use flashtool to root.
then use flashtool to flash .62
Follow the guide from above, its a 5 minute job
downgrade to .42
root with Doomloard method

please read the post of the link that procyon_prowler posted here and you will find on two or three places where it says that it is OFFICIAL way...using the sony webpage...
so that mean I have to gave them my IMEI and by that I completely lose warranty because guys at the service can check and see that i had unlocked bootloader even if I lock it again
Read the comments on page two. Maybe that'll make you understand how the unlocking/locking works.
---------------
Look! I even copied the important part (by bin4ry) for so you don't need to read it all
After relock you can use SEUS / PCC / EMMA again. The imei is used to generate the unique unlock-key. Also it gets stored to check if you claim warranty. Arc has showed us that SE is not denying warranty at all if you unlocked. They just decline it if the cause of the failure is a custom rom etc. pp. for example if you ****ed your cpu with overclocking.
SEUS/PCC/EMMA checks TA area for the unlock key, if it is present it reject the phone and refuses to update. The relock Doom posted here is the same way we worked out on Arc. It deletes the unlockkey from TA and this way you are again able to use SEUS/PCC/EMMA.

i read that but could not figure out what it means...so if i unlock bootloader there is no way that they can find out that i have unlocked it after i relock it again?
exactly
1. what step I need to do to flash a custom ROM?
I'm confusing with root and bootloader,
2. what is bootloader?different with root?
3. I need to unload bootloader only can root my phone?or bootloader = root?
4. unlock bootloader and bootloader mean?
if I rooted, that mean unlock bootloader?
Well advice for me , try to search before posting , cuz those question are already answered , only you gotta do is to Search , you can search manually or search by the Search Box above near " Find Your Device "
Anyways here the best old/new Guides

Unlock bootloader and root is two different things. To install custom room u need to unlock your bootloader but to unlock your bootloader u need to root ur phone.

I have xperia pro and rooted it with eroot. Bootloader is not unlocked. When I flash APKs using ADB or Fastboot it gives error that device is not rooted but superuser is already there on the phone. I don't know if I can flash APKs to locked bootloader. I tried everything CWM but doesn't go into recovery mode.

My work:
[TOOL]Kernel/Boot.img (un)packer
Actually I am trying to install Cybershot APK which will replace my original Camera app but still after rooting it is not allowing to do that.
Is this because I don't have unlocked bootloader???
But in the threads it said that you just need rooted phone.
So please let me know if I can replace standard APKs with custom ones in locked bootloader.

Yes, you only need an unlocked bootloader. Mount system as RW. And then replace the cam app in /system/priv-app, but I would suggest you to unlock bootloader, install cwm and make a nandroid

But can I backup locked bootloader. If in case phone gets issues like bootloop and all can I lock my phones bootloader again.
If I unlocked bootloader then can I able to use repair operation from Sony PC Companion.
Like yesterday I tried to delete all system files from root and my phone was not able to start. So what I have done is repaired it using PC Companion and it has been started.
I mean to say can I backup my existing ROM, bootloader and all and if so can you please let me the process to do so.
Because there are so many threads and there are so many applications to do it and I am not able to figure out the correct procedure.
I also have the RW permissions and can replace the app but its meta files and all will not be replaced then. So do you know method to flash this APK.

Bootloop is a different term. It is because of bad ROM, once you unlock bootloader, nothing can relock it except you do it. So nothing to be scared of.
