Hi guys, I'm Riccardo and I'm from Italy
People here are getting crazy for this problem, when you start a call or when you listen an mp3 there is a rustle (I hope it's correct word) in background.
Maybe it's a software problem...
Any ideas?
PS: Sorry for my english
try an hard reset,I think the combination is :
poweron+Volume down+home key
If that doesn't solve, maybe it is better to take it to the warranty

we tried but nothing, however it's not my problem, everyone buying this phone find the rustle?
maybe a problem only for italian lg?
Same for me, the phone is quite noisy, even when listening to a file with silence! I hope we'll get a fix. Annoying...
A didn't notice anything that you described here.
(Vodafone custom, V10a, Central Europe)
In Italy many people complain about a rustling sound when a call is made (and not when you answer a call). The same noise is present when listening to mp3 or use youtube and you can notice it clearing the audio.
That rustling sound you can notice it more using a headset.
You can also delete it temporarily, while outgoing calls, going to change the sound volume in the settings (even after adjusting the alarm volume, the rustling sound disappears!).
I think it's a software problem in the firmware of LG and if other countries do not have this problem, this is a firmware issue dedicated to Italy.
LG has announced an update to resolve the rustle and automatic unmount of sd card. The firmware update will be released in December!

Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
Browsing the LG update tool I found a firmware labeled "Europe Open" for the LGP500, version v10c.
It would be interesting to see if non-Italian owners who don't notice the hissing have a more recent version than v10a.
Yes, same problem here, background noise when you start a call or when you listen any sound.
About the SD Card, until now, working fine
hissing sound
The same is the case on my phone, bought it in Czech Republic, Vodafone V10A. As soon as speaker becomes active, the played sound is accompanied by a hissing noise, clearly audible in the beginning and at the end of playback. No difference using headphones (supplied or high-quality) or in-built speaker. More Optimus-owners with the same problem?
Same problem here.
Same problem here, i'm from Macedonia T-mobile v10a
Same problem here. Chile (southamerica) Claro company, V10a
Have somebody same problem with last FW update (Froyo 2.2.1, fw ~ V10n)?
I'm stuck with v10b, where to find v10n?
is this fixed in that version?
You can try find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
About noise issue, I'm waiting for somebody who knows that.
Nothing is change in 2.2.1 V10n, same hiss noise like V10a.

Thanks, focus, for that information, just got the possibility to upgrade to V10N here in Czech Republic, but I guess Ill wait it out till I figure out if I got the courage to flash to one of the neat custom ROMs in this forum. Having said that, does anyone of you reading this, managed to fix the soundproblem having flashed with Prime or Megatron??
best regards,
follow these steps: (DANGEROUS! do not try this if you aren't strong enough)
1. put on your headset and listen to some music. (something like big beat is recommend.)
2. let someone call you. the music will be interrupted automatically. pick up your phone with headset line controller.
3. finish the call with line controller. keep your headset on. don't do anything and wait for a few seconds. something big will come up and surprise you.
it reeeeeeeeaally hurts me badly several times, i will not listen music with it any more.....
i just want to know does everyone suffer from this, or i'm the only lucky one? I've searched the forum, can't see anything about it.
BTW, nokia music doesn't work on 12070 firmware, it says: sorry. nokia music doesn't work with older versions of your phone software. what can i do? i've reset the phone.

The volume bugs are well known on 12070 firmware.
I've been keeping my phone on silent when using headphones ever since the latest firmware, and I unplug the headphones when answering a call.
http://wmpoweruser.com/vodafone-aus...-800-12070-update-roll-out-due-to-volume-bug/
" Vodafone Australia has halted the rollout of the 12070 update for the Nokia Lumia 800, the so-called “battery fix” update for the Lumia. The roll-out started 2 days ago, but it seems a volume bug has cropped up which can cause “volume of music playback (to) behave erratically leading to the volume exceeding allowable levels on the device.”
The carrier has now halted the update until further notice and suggest users roll back their software using Zune to the backup before the update, or attend a Vodafone store for the same.
The update has been rolling out worldwide for more than 2 weeks now. Have anyone else with 12070 had the same issue? Let us know below."
Find it really strange that Nokia didn't see this bugg.. And that all carriers that got the update and did there own testing before sending it to there costumers didn't find it. Have been some weeks now and still no fix for this..
Start to feel that my decision to buy a WP wasn't good.. To many end roads and limit for the user. WP is even more restricted then IOS.

Yup I also did this after learning about it the hard way....
I don't have this bug. 12070 Orange PL and up-to-date Nokia Music.
I just got the 12072 from Vodafone AU where this is apparently fixed - but I don't have headphones with me to try it out. Any way to reproduce this without headphones?

Hello,
I found that there is a bug in the audio drivers. At least, I suspect it to be in the audio drivers. I'm on Firmware 1600.2487.8107.12070 and OS 7.10.8107.79
When I'm listening to music and texting (it hasn't happened when doing something else) the phone sometimes completely locks up. Music playback stops, and the only thing I can do, is restarting it. Then, sometimes text messages get lost... This is frustrating as it happens more and more. It doesn't happen when I'm not listening to music, so I suspect it to be a audio driver problem, because I'm texting all day long.
Someone else who experiences this?
MadMatt
I have experienced this once. But I don't remember if I was sending messeage, or something else, but it happen while playing music (It was frozen - lcd was displaying same thing, and only soft reset helped)
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've been getting this problem for the past few days. It happens to me when I'm listening to music while texting, reading PDF files, browsing the internet, etc. Basically when I'm listening to music while in another program.

Those are all heavy tasks. This might indicate an out of memory problem. NOKIA, are you listening? I hope this will be fixed soon, as it's very annoying.
It seems like a lot of new roms with the new 12120 firmware have hit the nokia firmware repositories. No official release notes are available at the moment but I think it is a save bet that the audio bug has been fixed since there is a lot to find about this bug at the official Nokia community forum. It will (based on the version number, 8773) also contain windows phone tango (Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh) and bring support for Internet Sharing (strong remour).
If you can't wait you could always try the new firmware by downloading with Navifirm+ and then flash it with Nokia Care Suite. There is a lot of info about this subject at this forum, not hard to find. Please not that you will loose all info on your phone (except from what is stored in the cloud such as your contact list) because your phone is erased. If you don't want this, please wait for the update to be rolled out through Zune, that way you will keep all data.
Based on history, the Zune update will start to roll out in a week or two. Zune updates are processed in stages, phones belonging to the latest stage will (again based on history) receive the zune update in a month or two.
Good luck.

Where do you see those ROMs for the Lumia 800? Latest Firmware I can see on NaviFirm+ is 12070 :-(
I've had twice that my phone hanged while making a call. But my phone didn't have any heavy task to do or play any music.
In both cases the phone had been on for several days without use (in flight mode, it's my second phone besides a Galaxy Note) and it was the first call after deactivating flight mode. The phone freezes at the moment of connecting and only rebooting by pressing the on/off button for a very long time solves the problem.

My bad, I see that firmware is actually for the Lumia 800C (RM-802), which is the Chinese version. Yesterday there were only 2 versions of 12120 available for the Lumia 710 (RM-80) and now there are 7 more though. So I think it will hit the Lumia 800 (RM-801) very soon.
I can confirm not just that but that there are also performance bugs in the audio driver. The 710 is capable of 10ms less audio latency than the 800. (30 ms vs 40 ms) tested with silverlight audio Apis on 16 bit 44.1 mono wav files.
Which is quite weird, I have not tested this on the previous firmware version, just on the latest. So they screwed up something. You would expect them both to perform equal, a difference of 10ms is just a lot...
Its by no way a scientific conclusion, its just a conclusion from practical use (testing low latency audio app).

It is however weird indeed. They really messed up the audio drivers... We have the volume bug and the phone completely freezing... What's next?
Anyone tried playing music with headphones, ringer on, and someone calls you?
The playback volume of your ringtone will jump a notch for 2 secs before it returned back to your normal volume.
Be careful when you try this! Dun damage your ears.

Yes, this is another bug in the audio. There are (at least) two bugs in there.
I had another weird bug today.
Was playing music with headset on, and navigating with the gMap Pro. As you can imagine, the phone gets a bit hot with all that processing. Just then I decided to make a call and unplug the ear phones.
I managed to make the call but the ear piece is very soft despite volume at max 10. So thinking its a call issue, I ended the call and retried. Same problem. Rebooted the phone this time and tried. No go...
After like 20mins, I tried again and this time it works loud and clear. I'm thinking if the speaker somehow couldn't output in correct volume when it's hot?

Yeah indeed.
I thought I was the only one, but my IE9 keeps crashing constantly and the Phone freezes up a lot. The 710 does not do this (as far as I could test it)…
Nor did the Omnia7 ever do this.
The video drivers are bad (stuttery video) and now I could measure the audio performance (and having 25% more latency), touch screen jittering etc. I really wonder why they messed up on the 800 but did fine on the 710. The 800 is the flagship in Europe why is it not being prioritized?
Anyway there are enough rumours of a new update coming up so hopefully that one will not just deal with the camera but also update the video, audio and radio drivers (to reduce rapid battery drains on bad 3G signal).
Its an amazingly nice device, sadly has quite some bugs its like we are the beta testers for the 900 actually .
Same thing here. Lumia 800 locks up while playing music in Zune. Doesn't happen often but still annoying. I think Microsoft beleives this happens only on HTC devices according to their forums but it doesn't.
Hey guys,
there's one little thing that's totally anoying me on my lumia800... The Sound.
Yes, it's too loud. ;-)
Think about this situation: It's late, you're in bed and want to listen to music. You put the sound to 1/30 and it is still very loud...
I've RainbowMod installed, and changed VolumeSettings to a max. of 15. But it does not change the max/min possible volume, it just let's you switch quicker from min to max volume.
Is there any possibility to do some "sound modding"? I would love my lumia800 to be more quiet when it's set to 1/15.
hope u can help.
thx.
Headphones ?
I totaly agree!
The phone is all to loud at lower #.
It doesent have to, it has det range from #30 down to #1 it is more than enough to give a wide range of sound level.
Sounds like you guy sare running the 12070 firmware with broken sound volume. I'd recommend upgrading to 12072: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626140
No no.
Dont know about lordmaxeys software but I'm running 12072
Yes, I had the loud-speaker-sound-issue at 12070 but is okay at 12072
Playing music is nearby okay but ringtone is all to loud at volume control #1, #2, ...
I noticed the same issue. My solution was to use Audacity for editing ringtones and normalizing sound for about -10dB to -15dB.
Really?
havent noticed the volume issue you say, its 1/30 really that loud?
im going to try it.
Edit:
i guess nokia fixed this on .12220 because i can barely hear it with Headphones and with the lumia 800 Speaker.
just checked it again, for me it's way too loud at 1/30.
Sad there seem to be no modding-solution available...

Hello,
I just received the Vernee Thor E.
There is a big problem with the phone. When I call someone he can barely hear me.
My voice is just too low even when I speak very closely to the mic. The quality is also very bad compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7 of my daughter or others phones.
I have différent phone at home: LG G3, Xaomi ReDMI S1, etc... I never had a problem like this.
Any suggestion or help
Best regards to all ready me.

Yes I dit the update
Do you have a pair of earphones with a mic? That way you can tell if it's software or hardware at least.
My Thor E hasn't had this problem, I just had a quick look at the settings to see if there is a way to turn up the volume on the mic, but couldn't find one.

I have this problem too
How to fix it?
Low mic volume during call
I've got the same problem. However the mic works fine when using WhatsApp and other internet voice calls. The problem seems to affect only regular calls. Regular calls over bluetooth handsfree and jack headphones works just fine.
Hard to say if the problem is sw or hw but the mic alone definitely works. I noticed that the volume sounds fine at the start and then gets lower.
There is another forum trying to solve this: attp://bbs.vernee.cc/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1963&extra=&page=1 (change the a for h at the beginning as I can't post links as a new user ;O] )
Someone recommended to turn off and on the speaker button during a call but it doesn't fully work for me - it gets a bit better but goes high and low and thus is unusable. Tried several times on both ends of the call.
edit: someone on the other forum says the problem is sw and will be solved soon via update... I guess we will see (or not ;O] )
edit2: problem solved with firmware update Thor_E_20170615
Same problem here but the 0615 update did not solved it.... it seems that the mic volume starts fine, gets lower, then fine and again gets lower in waves... it is very annoying... does anybody have a good solution?
I had just received the Thor E and I had the same problem, I temporarily fixed it by disabling "Ok google from any screen".
Other people reported to have solved the issue by altering the volume levels with the app MTK Engineering Mode (I don't know if I'm allowed to post links to other forums, anyway if you search on google you should find something)

I can confirm removing "ok google" on every page facility this solved a number of problems for me too.
Lastest update here, 0615, I've totally disabled Google Now and I still get a very low volume on calls
Thor E multiple issues
Just bough the it last week from a reputable seller I thought. Out of the box issues with first sim slot non functional, only 2nd slot took sim, meaning no extra storage.
Sound / mic issues as listed. Got 2 OTA and updated.. still same issues remained. Seller asked me to do recovery by pressing power and volume and choosing recovery. Failed as I get android with exclamation mark saying "command not found"
Seller refused return postage refund...
Found official rom on vernee site.. updated / downgraded to 20170615.. now camera issues, back camera gone, front camera upside down..
Really unhappy and clueless
I have bought the Phone in the last days, got 2 OTA and updated. I dont know before, but now I have no Sensors ( NO Compass, NO Gravity).
Today I received a new Update (Thor_E_20170704) but the same Problem.
PS: I have tried to downgrade the ROM to Thor_E_20170524, but it´s not working.
If I downgrade with Flashtool there are no Errors and it shows that all okay, but I cant boot the Phone after Flash, the Phone is pernamently off.
So I reflash the ROM Thor_E_20170615 but No Sensors. Any Solutions?
a friend of mine solved the volume problem with a factory reset.

Vernee thor E
I have the same problem with this phone...
I really don't know what's wrong with that??
It´s a Firmware bug since Thor_E_201706XX
At this moment the Thor_E_20170524 firmware is the best option.
The latest OTA update Thor_E_20170704174452 is a catastrophe.
The twrp does not work anymore with Thor_E_20170704174452.
Someone is trying to fix this issue.
IMEI problem?
How do I get my IMEI back?
Enter this code in the dialer

Hi, big issue. Had this new phone in my hand for an hour or so, then I decided to update the firmware ... 5 minutes and then PUF. Cell dead. No way to turn the phone on. no light, no led ... nothing...
I bought Vernee Thor E about 2 months ago. It was working fine until i upgrade it. Now issue is with voice calls. Whenever a call is going on it stops my mic function, i need to switch on and off the speaker button to re-transmit my voice. It just disable my mic when i press any button shown on dialer while on call it make mic available, and it happens after every 2 to 3 minutes of call.
