Button Savior Pro

So I have a broken home button, not going to repair it anytime soon as I've been using Button Savior Pro along with GB MIUI fine. I only have it so the button is the home button, no menu comes up
The problem however, when I flashed CheckROM V6, when setting it so the icon is the home button the phsyical lock button doesnt work, it either takes a screen shot or does nothing
I then flashed several ICS ROMS, MIUI, Stock ect ect and the same problem
Just want to know if other users are having this problem also, I know very few will even use this app but still worth asking
Thanks Joe
Flash cm9 and then onscreen buttons
Why I didnt think of that before..
Thank you

Frozen Ice 1.2.1 home button not working

Installed Frozen Ice 1.2.1 - neither the "Hard" or "Soft" Home buttons will work - will have to search for Home button apps to overcome it - otherwise ROM seems fairly quick with better wifi signal than other ICS roms I have tried.
Anyone found a better solution to the home button not working?
Button Savior
Installed button savior from Play to restore home button functionality, an additional step, but it beats having to backup all the way to Home.
Also, one poster indicated they reinstalled keeping all apps and not installing gapps restored home button functionality

[Q] Long press home button to torch

Hi i changed rom and on my last rom there was a feature that if i long press home button in lockscreen it activate de flashlight as torch..
How can i get back this feature ? i'm on Stock LPG dexedoed
Thanks
If you're on a rom with Jkay framework installed, just install Deluxe Settings app from Google Play to access the option to turn your torch on or off by long pressing home button from lockscreen.
I don't have Jkay and don't want it cause i like stock as it .. Just 2 things i wanted is that Torch feature and maybe battery % ..
Anyone ?

[Q] home button selects, instead of doing what it used to do before

Hi,
I've updated my xperia mini pro 17i from Belgium to ICS .587 and rooted it.
Then I've perceived the hard keyboard wasn't azerty as it is supposed to be, but it was qwerty.
I've fixed that, thanks to this forum, but now my hard home button isn't sending "home", but it just selects something on the page I'm at. To go to the home screen I have to use the "back" hard button a few times, instead of just pressing the hard home button once.
I've tried a factory reset without loss of data and it didn't fix the problem.
I've searched for a solution here, but couldn't find one. Please, forgive me if there is an answer: I really couldn't find it. I'm a nobody and I need help.
I thank you in advance for any clues (and will thank you officially after you post help, of course).
Was it working properly before you changed it to azerty?
If yes . What you did you do to change it to qwerty?

fixed
Hi,
I was just back to say I've seem to have fixed it. I've flashed a .587 ftf with flashtools and re-fixed the keyboard and now everything is working. I need to test more, but the button is working. I'm so happy.
The only thing I'd like to have done, now, is to stop the haptic feedback I get every time I press the hard "back" button.
If the administrators want to delete this topic, I'll understand.

To disable the haptic feedback you can use for example android assistant from playstore and on Tools>Save Battery Settings there's an option to diable it
thank you
Thank you!
Actually silly me found how to stop haptic feedback under "sounds". But thank you very much for helping. Buttom pressed!

[Q] waking phone from home button shows home screen instead of app i was last on

Hi, i have an international Galaxy S3 (i-9300). I recently updated to Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies (baseband version I9300DXDLI5) and there's a change that has been bugging me. In stock ICS, when the screen turned off due to inactivity, pressing either the power button or the home button would turn on the screen and lets me pick up where i left off. Now in JB, pressing the home button to wake the phone will take me to the home screen. Pressing the power button to wake the phone in both ICS and JB works as normal.
For example, I'm browsing the web on Opera Mobile. The screen times out and turns off. In ICS, when i press the home button, the screen would turn on and i could continue browsing. In JB, when i press the home button, the screen would turn on but take me back to the home screen. Pressing the power button works but the home button is bigger and easier to press.
Anyone knows a fix for this?
I'm running stock JB and not rooted.
Thanks so much
It's a known issue. There's no fix for it on the stock ROM, but there is a workaround - use a different launcher, such as Apex or Nova. The issue only affects the default Touchwiz launcher.

Not true. I use Nova Launcher (the paid version) and I also experience this problem (or is it a feature?).
The workaround I found is to wake the phone using the POWER button instead of the HOME button.
I found a fix\workaround (no root needed) to this please see the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929953
looks like that wasn't a work around.
Any updates on this?
I don`t seem to have that issues.. Goes right back to whichever apps I was using. Tried a bunch of apps too.
The bug happens only if you have disabled S-Voice.
If you have S-Voice enabled (double press home button) then you will not encounter this bug. But the trade off is the Home Button action is delayed.
Yes its either you have to enable s-voice but I don't like this idea so I use jkay framework. In jkay framework the issue is solved along with many other features and mods. Try it out

I went through that thread from start to finish, the only suggestion was actually a workaround.
Basically enable S-Voice, but at the trade of slowing down your home button.
How did you fix the issue uronfire?
