[THEME] Sense 4.0 look-a-like - HTC Amaze 4G

Found This in the sensation forum, it works on energy rom. Since it is the only rom where status bar transparency works, as of now.

Some people like it more, I'm not sure which one I like better right now. I'm half and half.

Sense 4.0 is definitely better, ui is cleaner imo, lots of eye candy thanks to the power those phones deliver. And this theme looks just like it, would like to see a port
Edit: sorry did not see it works with energy, now its a hard decision.... Energy theme or sense 4

[Q] questions about sense bloat

I've read a number of general complaints about sense being bloated and unremovable but would like to understand what device resources are unavoidably consumed by it.
If it's just storage space I'm not too concered about that. But taking up RAM with programs/features I don't want is another matter, as is any wasted CPU-cycles it might spend automatically running programs in the background, or intercepting UI events.
I ask this without knowing specifically what in sense is believed to be bloated. Is there a way to see a list of things it runs or could run, and to disable each feature I don't want? Again, I don't mind if the unwanted programs remain in storage, as long as they are never run and thus don't consume RAM/CPU.
When I watch videos of the G2X, it's mind-boggling how fast every aspect of the UI is. What is sense doing that keeps the evo 3d / sensation from achieving the same level of snappiness? I have a hard time believing excessive RAM-usage or CPU even is playing any role in simply scrolling through the tray of apps. So what is it that affects things like simple scrolling speed there?
I'm guessing android has some kind of event handling, where every event is delivered to a list of programs that each decide if they want to do anything with the event or not, and maybe sense has programs registered all over the place to receive all kinds of events. This is wild speculation on my part as I'm not that familiar with how things really work, but when scrolling through apps in the app tray is slow, something besides simple resource consumption must be going on.
Anyway my general questions are: what makes it slow, and can 'it' be removed, whatever 'it' is.
I don't know where u got the idea that the evo 3d us slow..must of been in a gs2 forum..I happen to enjoy sense..and once you root you can
remove any bs..I have an evo 4g and have no lag whatsoever..don't listen to the evo 3d haters..everyone takes shots at the best

Oh right. Sense is a launcher that is stunning.
CM7 comes with ADW WHICH is a launcher that is not sexy.

You do know the bluetooth stack in sense doesn't let you use things like wiimote, or bluetooth mouse? Those are some of the things I was referring to. Sense is more than a launcher and skin. It is a UI framework that does affect some core Android functions.
EDIT: BTW I never meant to start a war of Sense vs ASOP, I was just pointing out the misinformation that Sense is a skin, when it's more than skin deep.

Me too, always thought CM was over rated, I mean no disrespect, but Sense UI is hands down the best for Android.
Vanilla / stock Android feels like its still on 1.5 release. The dialer and contacts and e-mail all feel lacking something.

+1 totally agree, once I got into really core customization of my EVO, I saw what Sense was lacking. Don't get me wrong Sense is nice for eye candy, but CM is easier to work with for deeper customization. Once again it all comes down to personal preference. Although I'm looking forward to playing with the new Sense 3.0 lockscreen.

HTC sense and ics.

So since ics has basically almost everything sense has. I wonder what htc will add to sense. What do you guys think? They might have to come out with something really new , like a new feature to make people want to buy a phone with ics sense. I love sense so maybe the collaboration will be awesome! For the people waiting for an official update it might be awhile till they cook sense into it. But we'll see what happens.

I just hope to God HTC doesn't plaster their hideous outdated looking theme all over ICS. PLEASE stick to the stock ICS look.
I want to see a mix of both (Sense fanboy) but I want to see more theme's from HTC via HTC Hub.
I like the Music Sense Theme but they need others, none of the themes from Sense 2.1 are available on 3.x. :/ I was digging the wood theme.
What I want to see a new Sense 4.x/ICS combo:
Integrate Foursquare & Google+ API into FriendStream
Add more cloud/network features to HTCSense.com (Think MIQ/Dashwire)
Sense Updater/Rollback/Remove options
Voice Changer (Tiny (chipmunk) to Deep (Vader)) Kinda like on the PS3.
Font Changer
Deeper weather options
Better HDMI out options
More connected Media features
NFC SD card support
More HTC Hub content
Uninstallable HTC Sense components

Now, come on. You know it will have sense. Likely 3.0, it does not seem like they make a habit of updating sense in a phone that has been out.
The EVO Shift had just that when it was upgraded to Gingerbread.

Just keep the stoopid locked Google bars off the top of each page and massive navigation buttons off the bottom. I know this stuff can be avoided via root but I want to decide when to do it.
The gnex reminded me in a way of Starcraft 1. Half the screen was UI....way too much wasted space.

You and me both but it'll never happen, the Sense UI as we know it is a huge selling point I'm sure for the more inexperienced users.
I also read tho that Google is requiring manufacturers to keep the default ics GUI if they do skins. So we might have an option to disable sense and use aosp.
I don't remember the link off hand, lemme dig it up.

After watching this... HTC did too much with Sense. They're just overdoing it now. Give me a slice of AOSP and we're good here.
It's also still up on Droidforums.net .. at least I just watched it there a few minutes ago.
I think it looks good personally, but I am coming from the OG droid so Sense is basically like a theme to me and I haven't noticed any lag compared to the slowness of my droid so its all good.

[Q] Difference Between Sense 3.6 & 4.0?

What's the Difference between the two? I jumped straight to 4.0 so I never really experienced if there's much of a change. Can someone give me a brief list?
Thanx...
1. The whole look/theme of ui. Sense 3.6 is basically sense 3.5 and ics mixed together. Sense 4.0 is completely based on itself, nothing else looks like sense 4.0.
2. Features. It has more features than sense 3.6. Like landscape homescreen.
3. Animations.
4. Camera.
5. What devices its for.
Besides that, both are pretty much the same.

transparent status bar (turns normal when you're on another app)
beats and all sound enchanter effect on third party apps (srs rules...)
music lock screen funtional with third party apps (like mort player)
I really like the app drawer, the navigation bar and the settings menu from sense 4 (alot more than sense 3.0-3.5-3.6)
the UI is more light, I think you can notice it with the boot time, and this has have other benefits and......... the scrolling is a little bit diferent is better on sense3.6 but it's strange I really prefer sense4 it's just diferent, wtf jaja
since sense3.6 doesn't give a new feeling, sense4 does, it's give a good feeling of a new phone (well at least a different one)

Since you are in the Evo3d Q&A thread, I will add that since Sense 3.6 ROMs are based on the VM Leak (well, most of them), everything on the 3d works. With Sense 4.0 ROMs, usually 4g (WiMax) and the 3d features do not work.

I think my first post on this site haha. Anyways 4.0 just looks and feels different. not by much but its noticeable. The main feature i love is that adding stuff to the home screens is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier and faster. Thats what sold me to 4.0. I do love sense 4 over anything else but until they get working 4g (wimax) i will NOT use any sense 4 roms. I really hope Joel fixes this in the net update...
