[Q] What to do with a fully unlocked HTC Titan X310e - HTC Titan

Hi. I am wondering exactly what I can do with this fully unlocked device.
Can I download Bazaar? Devstore7 is an alternative homebrew store, can I install both of the stores and install different tweaks from both of them?
What about some cool registry tweaks?
It would be great if somebody could concrete tell me what things I could do with this device now =)
NB: The custom ROM is Dynamics7 v1.2 by Ultrashot = )
Cheers

I have the Dynamics ROM and all I can say is that I love it!! It provides a full unlock so yes, you can install Bazaar, DFT Bluetooth File Transfer, lockWidgets, everything. It provides a full unlock and the Tango ROM. I definitely suggest downloading it and flashing. Great ROM!
Good luck!

I have the Dynamics ROM as well and I can do all the things that have been mentioned except bazaar. It simply won't install apps, says my phone is not fully-unlocked (which is not true, I can still using XAP Deployer just fine).
Has anybody run into the same issue?

go to the Root Manager application and turn on the slider next to Bazaar.
This ROM is smart and doesn't allow every application Root Access. So for every new homebrew (or updated, for that matter) app must be turned on in the Root Manager application if it requires Root privileges.
Good luck!

I installed the Dynamics ROM too! Everything is working, it's better than the 1st DFT ROM.

Frustrating first ROM

Hi,
Tried my first ROM with the kitchen on here. Used the latest essentials rom rather that the touch rom but added all the touch components within the OEM folder.
IT WORKED!!! Storage card ok, bluetooth ok. Touch flow ok. Just one problem........
Phone would not work. Doh!
Could not register on the network.
Any ideas why?
cheers.

Tried the same thing, got the same results...
Any help would be appreciated indeed.
some needed drivers are missing somewhere, anyway did you turn off the phone when running the upgrade ie do it in flight mode??
rgs
I always update in flight mode. don't like the idea of receiving a message whilst doing it.
You would think that with the phone working in the rom kitchen original rom and the essentials donor rom that there would have been more than enough working drivers.
: )
try comm manager -> settings -> phone if it asks for your pin..
was missing in some roms i tried...

there shouldn't be any reason for changing anything with because I used essentials rom and added the touch stuff and some more oems
arent you using 10 buttons comm manager? that is one of the problems, if you make oem package from commonly distributed cab, you should mod its registry to work correctly. it contains many obsolete entries and also some preventing GSM activation.
I was solving this just today

It says in the notes that there are several IMEs (pcm Keyboard...I think CE star) which do not work. On another thread about Chinese IMEs, they noted that most are not working. This is, to me, the worst part about this ROM... I may need to go to another rom because for whatever reason, non-default IMEs are not working.
Well...they sometimes work right after a soft reset...and then fail.
I have English Rom version O2 Xda Atom Pure! Calligrapher worked before on 0.3.0 and original roms. Just this rom won't work on!
try to install G4 SIP Tweak.cab make pcm keyboad as default SIP, it works for me....
download from here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1424544&postcount=1

if this program works..can u share to me this program and PM to me the Se**al..thanks
Jiggs I know you are busy however I'd just see if there could be any work arounds so I can run Calligrapher. I have tried the suggested "sip change" programs mentioned and also tried sk tools etc. Only if you have time of course! I'd be very grateful. Thanks again for your wonderful work
I have just tested the latest version of caligrapher on my new build. It works perfectly
Caligrapher is cool, but the application is large
I agree with Jiggs. Nice software though.
Could I help test the new build? Or is that too much to ask?
Calligrapher v8.5 works fine for me w/6M pagepool.
Calligrapher uses a LOT of memory. It seems to fail to run when you have too many today plugins (or a few using lots of memory). Here are the things to try:
1. Go to options and set Calligrapher to be the default SIP on reset.
2. Reset the device.
If it still doesn't work:
3. Disable ALL of your today plugins.
4. Reset the device.
If it works now, decide which today plugins you can't live without and turn them on one by one until Calligrapher stops working.
If it did not work, try SIPChange - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008.
Good luck!

Vodafone Touch Pro

Hi,
I'm trying to get my head round all these new apps/roms/kitchens/cabs/ovens kettles and toasters etc, and I've spent hours trawling through threads and it's as clear as mud. I've looked at the wiki also.
Please tell me in lamens with pictures or a video what I need to do to for my specific Vod. TP:
1) improve performance of my Voda. Touch Pro &
2) install the Black HTC theme.
tbh I'm cautious of screwing my tp up so would appreciate the simplest route to achieve 1 & 2 above.
- Great forum but for people like me it's spaghetti linked nightmare. - One link answers the question but that inevitably leads to more questions.....well for me anyway

I hear you... I am not all together that much of a techie...
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO RUN THE HARD SPL - FOR ME WITH MY VFUK TOUCH PRO IT WOULDN’T RUN UNTIL I INSTALLED MICROSOFT .NET CF3.5
Once this is installed you will be able to run the SPL ie "RaphaelHardSPL" - make sure your battery is fully charged and that you follow the instructions... when this is done I recommend you install the very excellent ROM by QSQA "PROven_ROM_WWE_20757_1.03_CVSD". He does have a newer version but I have not tested it as yet and subsequently not in a position to recommend it.
Hope this helps,

Thanks, does this remove my contacts list/camera pics etc?
A few times now my Tpro has froze and displays a white/grey fuzzyness is this a known issue? My unit is 3 days old and is running all standard...
@gjc10212 - Yes it will... unless you don't care, always make sure you backup/sync any contacts, files, photos, etc before flashing a new ROM onto your phone.
NOTE: Just flashing the HardSPL will *NOT* delete everything on your phone BUT if you flash a new ROM, the process will completely wipe everything on your phone. You will need to re-configure any email sync'ing, re-sync your contacts, files, music, photos, re-install any of your programs... everything.
I suggest you read this thread as it has very good information about flashing, etc: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008
I don't know about the "freezing and/or white/grey fuzzyness" as I have never had that problem.

Hey,
As GTRoberts says, you will have to re-setup your device - but so what! you will effectivly have a brand new device - a much better one that the standard VF.
Again like GT I have not had any issues with the white/grey fuzzyness.

Getting Stock to Custom

Hello Guys,
I am pretty much new to Android here (Used to be a Windows Mobile user), although I am starting to read and learn more about it. I felt so happy to be out of the Microsoft Mobile spell, it was horrible and the software just lives in the world of its own, it lags at almost anything and in short, it just cant work.
Alright, so I got my Hero 2 weeks back and I wanted to know a few things, which I hope you can help me with it.
- I have about 60 over applications on my SD card, and I wish to use the MoDaCo ROM, How am I able to backup the applications from the current stock rom and transfer them to SD Card or somewhere else?
( Will Market still recognise the apps I downloaded after I flashed my phone to MoDaCo? )
- One more question, everything when the MoDaCo rom releases a new version, lets say from 2.9 to 3.0, must I reflash and build everything from scratch again?
Thanks A Lot,
Jeremy

hi,
well to answer your questions,
you can install all your applications directly on your sd card using app2sd.(it is incorporated in the modaco roms but bear in mind you have to correctly format ur sd card in ext3 partition for app2sd application to work . Once you've done that , you can flash anything and you'll not have any problem.
2)concerning paid applications, yes. market will automatically recognise applications you bought once you sign in your google account(they'll be recognised but you'll have to download it manually) but paid ones, nope.
3)when you upgrade from the same built( meaning from 2.8 to 3.0 modaco for example) , you dont have to wipe before flashing cause both roms use as base the official 2.73 rom. thus you wont lose any of your settings. However, when you upgrade from a modaco rom to community rom 1.6 , you should normally wipe.(builts are not the same here, one being cupcake and the other eclair)

Thanks A lot for your response, and I have some questions again.
- Where could I find an app to format my SDCard to Ext3? Will my Windows PC still be able to read EXT3?
- You mentioned that market will recognise my downloaded applications after I root the phone right? So, I dont really get it - I have to download it manually? Meaning? ( All my apps are free, no paid )
- Its pleasing to hear that I don't have to wipe when I upgrade to 3.0.
- Oh and something which I missed out, I am supposed to flash a Radio at the same time right? Which one is the best to date? I heard that there was many versions. ( I'm using a GSM Hero)
Sorry for the inconvinience.
Cheers,
Jeremy

Rooting Hero

hello guys. i'm from Malaysia. i recently bought HTC Hero. currently have problem with downloading application for hero and malaysia dont have android market yet. is there any way i can download any application besides android market.
i got a few question also. what the purpose of rooting the hero. if im using it in malaysia. do i need to root. will it void my warranty. thanks.
Before you even think about rooting, first read this.
The only other way to get applications/games onto your Hero without the Marketplace is to manually open the apk installation file via using Linda File Manager. You don't need to root your phone for this.
If you made a backup of your Rom using nadroid, your original Rom should be safe and your phone is still under your warranty.
The only reason to root your phone is to be able to have access to hidden files, remove unnecessary programs, have useful ones already pre-installed, speed up the phone, etc.
If you have any other issues/questions regarding what I am talking about, read the link I provided you first. It should answer all your questions.

Sorry, but that is not correct. There are other Market-style applications out there that he can use. e.g. SlideME, which probably came on the phone. If it didn't, you can download it directly from the website onto your phone, and install it from the browser though you need to enable Menu->Settings->Applications->Unknown Sources ticked beforehand.

Sorry, but this isn't correct either! A *very* good reason for rooting is to use "Market Enabler" so that he can install the Market application, and enable it for a different region that supports paid apps. Other good reasons include tethering by wifi, and apps2sd.
Regards,
Dave
ok. thanks guys. does it means if i root my Hero then i can access the Market even i malaysia?
Essentially yes, though you will need to install the Market app and use the Market Enabler application to "spoof" the Market into believing your carrier is in a supported region.
Regards,
Dave
But a "problem" with this would be the phone would "believe" that you are in say "Netherlands" when you are in fact in Malaysia.
You can "solve" this by disabling automatic time / date. Enter it manually.
ok. i read on how to run app from sd card. one of the step need to flash ROM to SD card. is it ok if i use different ROM than my current Hero ROM.
As long as it is a Hero ROM, for the Hero (e.g. MoDaCo 3.0) you should be fine. You do need to be a little careful though, because devs have ported Hero/SenseUI to other phones (e.g. G1/Magic etc).
If you make a Nandroid backup before you flash the new ROM, you can always roll back to your previous ROM.
Regards,
Dave
