Hey guys,
I wanted to know if the stock 2.1 Rom can beat every custom rom available in comparison with the battery usage. Or is there a custom Rom that is better that the stock one.
I'm thinking to just rely back to the stock rom if i keep getting these battery drains.
I'm using Erick Will's latest 2.1 rom but does that rom have better battery than the stock.
One other thing guys, do you think doing a clean, fresh install of stock then rooting. etc then flash a custom rom will give me a better battery, because i dont see how flashing back to the stock rom and starting all over again will give better results as some people did.
No. Stop asking these questions. SEE_FOR_URSELF!
IF I POST, IT WILL BE OPINION.
Bt anyway, the rom with best battery would of coursw be stock.
Ewjet should be fine if u dont play any games.
Here xda, there are lots of roms that are for differemt people
decide for yourself.

I try Ericwill's rom but it is not compatible with my MW600, it has some bugs for MW600
I use kx10 2.1 custom rom and X10 undervolt module. Battery life is very good now.
You can try undervolt mofule with stock rom.

Like the title states, is the battery life better in ics than in gingerbread?
Would appreciate some help on this.

For every noob who posts a new ICS related thread on XDA, battery life decreases by 1 minute. We're down to only 5 minutes of battery at the moment and I wish you'd stop, it's frustrating having to be tethered to electricity 24/7.
When it's officially released, flash it and find out the correct answer.
Battery life on ANY device is totally subjective to the user....

Short answer no. The ICS leaks are not official so no surprise

agreed
either wait for official ics or try a leaked rom, everyone uses their device in a different way so its impossible to answer your question....

I'm not a noob...I just didn't know the answer to a question. Last time I checked that meant I'm human, so I don't appreciate you bringing this attitude when all I did was ask a simple question which required a simple answer.

As an experienced user, you should know there are so many variables that determine battery life which make your question almost impossible to answer. There is no rom X is more battery friendly that rom Y, regardless of what version of Android it is.
That's the point other people are trying to make & which you're not getting.

Honestly bro, from personal experience, I just try out the ROM and see whether battery life is better or worse. The way I use my phone is different from others, so try out the ROM first and test it out. Won't hurt to try.
plus, testing a ROM yourself will allow you to gain hands-on experience which may prevent you from asking questions that people may bash you on.

Depends on your phone Set-Up, but honestly i did some battery test before with same widgets, theme and apps.. and i get more battery life with Gingerbread, remember they are leaked versions.. No official, Beta version for me!

I know all about that mate. Its just that usually if there is an upgrade in the os then the battery life gets better as well. I've watched pocketnow videos in YouTube and I heard that Android 4.0 has a better way of dealing with ram and such. So naturally I thought better ram management equals better battery life.

If you want more battery, try undervolting you cpu. This seems to help.

For me it's really better with ICS
I'm using Resurection Remix ROM v9.4, make some trick with betterbatterystats
yes
it is faster if you have a stable ics rom
I would say it's the same for me at the moment, i am using CM9 Codeworkx, but as the rom gets more stable the battery life is getting better. My battery life when using stock Gb was pretty poor anyway.
Hi!
I would like to change stock ROM to anyone of these because as far as I know, they are the better ones for Neo.
Now the dilemma starts... which one? Could you post pros and cons about them?
Sent through Tapatalk
Try all of them and see for yourself, which one suits your needs best.
People have different opinions. For one can be a problem, other one can see it as a feature, if you get my idea.
For try them all properly I have to be with every one at least one week.. so it will be three weeks.
However if people who tried/use them already post their opinions, it would be easier for me choose one.

That's not how it works here mate
Normally these threads get closed
Well what's good for us maybe crap for you, is what I mean bro
neo is tiny little poo phone
Hm, I understand your point. But as I'm here long enough, I know how this kind of posts ends up. People post their opinions, in 90% they are contradictory, even for people who (as you said) used them all.
And OP(in this case you) end up confused with so many questions without answers.
Nothing personal, don't get me wrong, but my advice is try them(yes I know it takes time, it's what modding is after all, testing and trying) and find one which suits you best.
Btw 3'rd rom is totally different than 1'st and 2'nd.
Well... let me ask the question in other way...
What work and what doesn't in every one? For example I know that HDMI doesn't work in CM.
Sent through Tapatalk
In compiled roms (cm, aokp, soap) everything now works except hdmi (only jelly bean still has other issues).
Any stock based rom (spacious, Iscream, pureness, team xperia) should be able to have everything working although may not be installed by default.
As to performance that's subjective so just try them

This is a subjective question...For me,after i've tried all custom roms, stock rom (with GX homescreen and few Xperia S applications is the best).Try all of them, and see wich one suits best your needs.
you have to try some
and not all issues appear on all devices
so you have to try
for example
i have a some wifi issues on ics based roms (no hardware failure) but not all devices have it
give em a try

My personal experience with these ROM. i would say Pureness by ThilinaC. It's stylish and faster. Also you should try MIUI which is my favorite and totally different from other ROM, but bit slow .
Just read that camera is working worse in CM or Pureness than stock.
Opinion about this? How it works in JJHybrid?

First try these
If you are a bit hesitant then a) First root your phone b) Install a root uninstaller and delete the junks that keep your phone busy yet you have no use of them c) Flash some useful MODs like walkman, Xperia S lockscreen etc. and see the differences. If you are not satisfied then installing any Custom ROM is open for you.

i thought it wasnt a problem cause i asked in terms of battery life..
Too many variables determine how much usage you're going to get out of a charge to be able to definitively say "rom/kernel X" will give you the best battery life.
That's why these threads are frowned upon (essentially a waste of time; you won't have the exact same experience with a given rom/kernel as me).
Only way to get great battery life is to read/learn/tweak/read some more/tweak/etc/etc. All the info you need is on this site, you just have to do a bit of digging to find it.
for me stock roms always have best battery life..
yeah asking a question like whats the best rom is stupid but he asked a concrete question, whats the best rom in terms of BATTERY LIFE. i think its legit but im not a mod to decide. still, it hasnt been removed so i think im right. im also curious btw. thats right u can tweak a lot and improve batt life but there are definetly better roms for battery life, there are some with good performance, others have great features etc.

Hi, can somebody recommend me a rom with good battery life? Actually I have Turkbey's 2.3.6 and I like to change it. I tried Turkbey ICS v12 but it has lower battery life than 2.3.6.
I know the tips to extend battery life but I refer to battery life between two roms in similar usage conditions and not for tips for downgrade the battery consumption.
Should I try ICS or JB or should I stay in GB?
Thank you in advance...

Jajajajajaja obviously. I didn't asking what's the best rom!! I only ask for your suggestions based in your particular experience... there are many roms in both sections: development and ported development and I can't try all of them...
Simply there are roms that have more battery life than anothers and if you advice me in that I could try someones to decide which rom I like to use daily.... thank you very much!!

U run different apps than I do. U do different things with your device than I do. The reason he responded the way he did is there is no rom that anyone can say works better than another for ANYTHING because we all use our devices differently. Try one. If u don't like it try another.

It's true, but only when you compare to me, but in most of cases all of us has been tried several roms in identical caracteristics, with the same applications and we know wich of them have special features like battery duration. Same as we can say that "Turkbey" 2.3.6 based have more battery life than "Turkbey" ICS based, all of you can say that some rom have better baterry life than another in identical conditions . . . I understand you are saying, but I'm completely sure you have rom preferences for one or more features . . . if not, why you have your actual rom? Can you evaluate it for development, performance, battery life? This is . . . You can suggest!!
I agree with you if my question had been made "which are the best rom" because there are no the best rom for somebody. Each rom has its features and each one takes the most of it, but you can´t ignore there are some special features for each roms.
Thank´s anyway but I don´t totally agree with you . . . and I know what are I saying . . .
