[Q] How are the radios on your GS3? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I just upgraded my OG Evo to the new Evo LTE and for the most part I really like it. What's keeping me from loving it is the less than impressive battery life and the multitasking issues.
I'm seriously considering returning it for GS3 but I've never owned a Samsung phone before and I've heard a lot of people on the forums complaining about how terrible the radios are. I've been doing a lot of research and I haven't seen anybody complaining about the radios on the GS3. In fact, I've seen several posts regarding the quality of reception and the speed at which the GPS locks.
So, what has your experience been so far?
Thanks in advance!

This moved off of the first page fast! Just bumping it once in hopes that I can get some feedback.
Thanks!

GPS does get the fastest lock of any phone I used so far, WifI wasn't the best but turned the power rave mode off and it's lightning dash. Bluetooth is fine and network signal where I live seems slightly weaker than some other phones but still good.

Please be honest - How do you like your SGS2

So Im debating on buying the Galaxy S2 or the Atrix. Iv been a long time Galaxy S user (i9000 since the beginning) and as much as a disaster it was, I still held off and kept with it.
The thing I like about Atrix is gps works, super fast, (I never use GPS except for weather and I CANT see weather on my SGS cuz my gps doesnt work ) size of it, speed,
-Bad things are moto blur im not a fan of, bootloader locked (I have never flashed roms on my galaxy s, but iv done a ton of research and will want to in the future), no gingerbread
The things I like about SGS2 are unlocked BL (just like above), screen looks a bit nicer then motos. Gingerbread.
This I dont like - size is pretty big, and im afraid im going to be settling just like I did with the SGS
My buddy just bought the SG2 and says the wifi sucks, battery sucks, and the GPS still isent the greatest.
Now my question is, is this just a bad batch like the first galaxy S's? or is this going to be the future of the SGS2? To be honest Samsung left a bad taste in my mouth after my SGS
Wifi seems to have some compatability issues with certain routers and there is a bug for some people with battery drainage. So, as I see it, not the end of the world, but annoying for those affected.
GPS works fine for me at least.
Dunno which batch I got but I never had such a perfect phone before. Even get Gps signal indoors in 10 secs.....
Wonder why some folks here have so big probs ........

Thanks for some of the comments guys, I know its hard to be un bias but im just trying to watch out for bad apples. The SGS was my first Android phone and it was great... for a while. I even went back to my Iphone cuz of the problems on my SGS (And im sooo anti Apple lol) and not to mention the 4 SGS's I had to exchange, what a nasty time in my life.

Same here. no problems at all.
Sounds like a troll. The wifi is very fast, with great reception. The GPS takes a reading in seconds and is extremely accurate, and the SGS2 runs all day on a charge - unlike my last phone, I don't need a way to charge this phone at work. Beyond that, it is fast to use, has a camera good enough so that now, I have a usable camera with me wherever I go, it plays games and movies to entertain the kids when needed, gives me full access to the Internet everywhere I go and it has a reasonably good connection to all communications outlets - social networking, IM, and email. Can any of these functions be improved? Sure, but the overall package is probably as good as any phone on the market and better than best-sellers like the iPhone 4. At the moment there is no better phone on the market, and this phone will hopefully remain useful for much longer than the HTC Touch Pro2 that it replaced.
I currently own both the Atrix & Galaxy S 2. I'm currently trying to sell the Atrix. My Galaxy S2 is the best device I ever owned. If I had a 12 year old child, I would give my Atrix to them.....IT IS A PIECE OF OVERRATED CRAP!!!!!
Get the SGS2, I couldn't be happier!!!!
Atrix, don't even think about it. I feel its one of the useless phone out there. I used it for some time. Screen is really awful. I hate to compare this with SGS1. SGS 2 is way up in the sky.

Quite simply because Samsung's quality control is terrible. I've had four Galaxy S Captivates and they've all had issues to varying degrees. I'm seeing the same issues with the SGS II as I did with the original: blotchy screens, yellow banding, and GPS issues. I attribute the complaints of poor battery life due to user interaction (read: constantly playing and running benchmarks) so that's more of a wash to me. But the hardware quality control seems to be right next to the original SGS: in the gutter.
Battery life is pretty good, 100% at 8am this morning & its now 10pm at 68%. Used for about 20 mins of calls, a bit of web surfing, downloaded a few apps & some general fiddling about.
I've had no problems with GPS. Initial fix took no more than a couple of minutes & it has performed like a champ.
The wifi though does seem to be quite weak.
I don't care if you get the sgs2 or not but the atrix is a piece of ****. It can't function right without motoblur.

Pretty tired of these "doomsday" posts with no general processing of the overall picture. This phone is fantastic, even with the minor bugs. This device makes the SGS feel like a beta prototype that should have never even been released.
Screen is gorgeous, web browser NEVER lags even when zooming/panning with flash on screen, GPS/Navigation is flawless, everything is just blazing fast with no hint of slowdown. So, if you think your last-gen Atrix is a keeper, by all means, keep using it.

I couldn't agree more. The Atrix had a LOT of potential but sadly was bogged down by a piss-poor implementation by Motorola. The big thing to note is: even though the SGS2 has superior hardware, it's not superior by much. Even this being the case, the SGS2's performance completely trounces that of the Atrix simply because of the optimization done by Samsung. I had one and ended up selling it because it just didn't feel like a next-gen phone to me and couldn't be happier w/ my Galaxy S2.
For me battery is great, screen fantastic, call quality spot on. in three weeks, no lag or crashing. Camera is superb, external speaker great. 2 & 3G sensitivity perfectly fine. 1080p video recording amazing. ummm...just trying to think of something negative..
I'll have to come back to you on that one..........
OP:
Many of the problems commonly found in the SGS1 can be cured with a ROM change. Darky's has been great for the GF; wicked good battery life (2 days), FAST and GPS even works!
The update fiasco that was the Galaxy S1 was (imho) due to the US carriers. The GF purchased her SGS1 from Telus Early Jan, and I installed Froyo that night through KIES.
Basically what I'm getting at is the SGS got a bad rap in the states, but I honestly don't believe the majority of the blame lies with the manufacturer in regards to the update issue. The GPS was fixable, but I have a feeling it wasn't fixed due to the difficulty encountered in updating the US versions of the SGS.
In regards to the Atrix, I am biased when it comes to Motorola as I owned a Milestone (non US, non CDMA Droid1). Now that device is a PITA as the bootloader is encrypted and Motorola has truly been atrocious with the updates. I would never buy an encrypted device after that experience, as I can't really update my phone on my own.
Moved to it from a Desire running Ginger Villain. Phone's great, screen's great, no problems with WiFi or GPS.
Chalk me up as another person struggling for a negative.
Just upgraded from the SGS1 to the SGS2, it's sooooo much faster. My GPS locks indoors WITHOUT AGPS (insight of a window maybe 8ft away), I like TW4 and the new apps, a good camera and the build quality is better than the SGS1 but..... it took me a while to get used to the new screen, at first I found the contrast a little odd and the audio is not as good as the SGS1 (with Voodoo) and may never be.
Overall though a great phone and a good upgrade to the SGS1, I think this phone will do well.
Had the GS1, only problems with it. Since I've got this one, no problems at all. Frankly, the only issues are reallyyy minor and the phone's speed makes up for it
I've also upgraded from an original Desire to the SGS2, it's amazing. The wi-fi gets one less bar than my desire but the speed is still 18mbps as it was on the Desire. Can't fault it tbh, awesome phone
I never use GPS except for weather and I CANT see weather on my SGS cuz my gps doesnt work
↑
Omg lol!!! Is this guy serious?
Go with a normal phone. I can see that you don't have the intelligence to handle a smartphone let alone SGS II. ...Unless you're Superman who fly to different cities every hour.

Rogers EVO 3D

Hey what's up guys?
Got the 3D to replace my Xperia arc(horrible horrible phone) and I have to say, I really like the Evo. It's my first HTC so I didn't know what to expect. Despite being a bit bulky(and much bigger than the arc), it feels so solid compared to any other phone I had before(arc, Captivate, BB Bold 9000).
I've read here the phone has reception issues(maybe only the CDMA version) but I've had absolutely no problems with it. Actually, it's probably the phone with the best reception, both network and wifi, that I've ever had.

Yep, same experience here. Coming from a 3GS the Evo is a really solid, fast, and reliable phone so far... for the first week We'll see if the stability keeps up.
Cant wait for CM7... Not a huge fan of sense, but I havnt seen any really appealing alternatives yet. I have CM7 on my Nook Color, and I'm using the Evo's infra wifi hotspot to host a 3g based wifi connection for the nook to stream netflix etc. Currently trying to get VLC stream and convert (streams any codec from your home pc on the fly) working via VPN on 3g/4g.
Cant wait to figure it out
Yup...100% satisfied with it (GSM)

Interesting, I have an SE arc currently and I actually like it! No problems whatsoever. But Rogers offered me an Evo 3D today at a really good price so I'm gonna be getting it soon and I look forward to playing with it. I had a HTC Magic as my first smartphone and I really like HTC and sense. Looking foward to the evo 3d.

Hows the phone working out for you guys? (serious question)

I am on a Rezound and this phone is nice, but it has its share of issues(audio hiss/buzz when aux/headphones plugged in, dead pixels, overheating/freezing) & all are known issues.
I have until Friday to do an exchange with Best Buy. Was considering holding out for the Nexus but due to delay after delay I have my doubts it'll be out before Friday. That being the case, I'm seriously considering a RAZR instead.
Has it been working out well for the most part? Any issues like what I'm experiencing on this Rezound? How does the battery hold out under "heavy use"?(like if I want to watch a few movies back to back). Also, for that "fuzziness" on the text/icons, is there a filter to smooth that out?

I have experienced none of those issues with the RAZR. Keep in mind that under deep dark conditions with the screen at its lowest brightness setting against a black image, many units show some "smudges" or dots. If this concerns you, definitely check one out in the store ahead of time (try downloading draw! and open the app up on the lowest brightness underneath a jacket or shirt..people will probably stare..let them..haha) and judge how this effects you for yourself. I use mine as a night clock and though I can see some smudges in the middle of the night, they don't bother me.

I gave up on the Nexus myself. Lack of USB mass storage was the final nail in the coffin for me. I think the RAZR has the potential to turn out a better ICS device than the Nexus.

I LOVE my RAZR. Best Android phone I've owned to date. (Prev: Epic 4G, Droid 2, Nexus S, MyTouch 4G, LG G2X, Sensation 4G). Under light use, the battery literally lasts for days if you make proper use of the smart actions. Heavy use? I can't comment on video playback time, but I get about 4-5 hours of 3D gaming before running into battery trouble. There is no filter to help the pixelation around text that the Pentile screen creates, but it doesn't bother me. I find myself impressed by the deep blacks and color reproduction far more often than I do focusing on the Pentile effect, but again, you should view this in person yourself to be sure as everyone is different.
I haven't had the phone very long, only about a week, but so far no issues whatsoever with overheating or freezing at all. This wasn't the case with my OG droid or my droid 2 global.
I got this phone from someone else, so I don't have a contract and will probably switch to the droid 4 when it comes out, but won't consider the Galaxy Nexus at this point, as I can't have a plastic phone. I'm hard on my phones with keeping them in the same pocket as keys, and other items, and have broken many a plastic mounted phone just from that alone.
I do, however don't like the size of the phone overall. I find it a bit too large for me, and have had issues handling it....I'm hoping the Droid 4 has a bit smaller overall dimensions. Also I find the keyboard gives a better grip to the phone...but that's personal preference.
If you're adjusted the Rezound size, you shouldn't have an issue with this.
For screens, this screen is great. I actually was lucky and got one without the dark dots in dark light, so I can't comment on that experience, but the pentile is really almost imperceptible to me. You really have to strain your eyesight to pick up the pentile on this screen. I also agree with brianbrain on the deep blacks and color reproduction on the phone. It's a very good screen, IMO.
I've never owned an HTC phone, but have heard a few complaints similar to what you're talking about with their phones. I know Motorola is not always forthcoming with updates, and they release phones so quickly, you feel they're just out there to screw the consumer, but my experience has been completely different. I couldn't have lived without my OG droid, until the screen went out 1.8 years later, and I had my D2G that was a KILLER phone until I left in Thailand recently. The RAZR is a great addition to the Droid line, and I've had a blast with it since I got it last week.
Phone is awesome. Nothing wrong with this phone. Best phone I've had.
I'm more in live with this phone then the thunderbolt I had. Tbolt felt cheap. screen quality was lacking, and it just seemed slow. I know the rezound is different then the tbolt. But i'm leary on any HTC phone.
The razr feels very solid, very fast and the screen is great (even with the splotches in very low light). I've had battery issues with the media process. I haven't hooked my phone up to a 3.5mm input, so I can't say about any hissing. Having hooked it up to my Bose ie2, it absolutely sounds fantastic.

I had an Incredible 2, which is kind of the oddball in the HTC lineup as it is one of their only phones that has GREAT battery life (even more ironic considering the T-bolt was so bad and the phones are so similar in hardware) I ended up getting a Razr recently because long story short Verizon was struggling to get 4G going on my tablet on their end so I said screw it and told them to send me a 4G phone.
Even coming from the Inc2, the Razr is a lot better on battery than I thought it was gonna be. Worse than the Inc2 for sure, but it has a bigger display and faster hardware. On 3G (LTE isn't in my specific city yet, but I've used it in others) I make it all day, and I work for 12 hours and use the phone moderately to heavily when I take breaks and get bored. That's acceptable for me considering no matter what I do, I'm gonna plug the phone up at night regardless. When in 4G areas, the speeds are pretty impressive and consistently good. I was averaging 20mbps down and 11-15 up in Augusta, GA.
I played around with the Rezound in the store. It's not a knock on the Rezound specifically, I have not been impressed at all by Sense 3.5. They may as well call it Sense Vista. On the Incredible 2 we have a few Sense 3.5 roms and while they're pretty, to me I can't find the will to run them as a DD because they're laggy. At the time I chalked it up as the Single core snapdragon in the Inc2 struggling to run such a big and graphic intense rom. Then I played around with the Rezound. No real difference. Both are pretty slow compared to Sense 2.1/3.0 honestly. Hopefully Sense 4.0 and ICS will change that, but I'm doubtful given HTC seems to be getting lazier with every new version of Sense.
After a week and a half with the Razr:
Screen rocks IMO
Battery life is better than expected. I go all day (12-14 hours) on one charge, using 4G (maybe 30-40 minutes of phone calls).
Phone is very fast
Width is very akward at first, but you get used to it. First few days you freak out every time you grab for it.
Smart Actions will be great once they tweak them a bit
Voice quality and signal for phone is awesome (coming from an HTC Inc)
I was really wanting a Nexus, got impatient. The battery life, voice quality, and screen on the Nexus would have to be WAY better to make me send the Razr back.
I've had just about every android phone going....nearly ;-)
Actually had the Razr(GSM) for 2 weeks, pretty much loved the phone but was just waiting on the Nexus(GSM).
Well I've had the Nexus since friday, not really impresed, was rooted and custom rommed straight away, buggy as hell.Battery life sucks and that's with GSM, LTE is gonna be even worse.
Cut a long story short,Nexus sold,Razr's coming back. Go for the Razr.

I'm coming from the Nexus S. Like the phone so far. Motorola did a pretty good job considering I usually like stock Android.
UI doesn't feel intrusive. Motorola seems to have added a lot of useful functions. Been running ICS on the Nexus S, but don't miss it due to the RAZR's hardware.
The phone is amazingly fast. Feel like I've been wasting my time modding the Nexus S so much lately cause the RAZR blows it out of the water even with all the bloatware.
Only problem I've run into so far is blotches on the screen when it is black and the room is dark. Not as bad as some other pics I saw, but still going to try and exchange. Also found a dead pixel.
If I can get a device with a good screen, I think I will stay with the RAZR. I've only seen the Galaxy Nexus display model... possibly might exchange for it when it comes out.
Really like the form factor of the RAZR better tho. If the RAZR had a 720p screen I'd probably be able to easily ignore the Nexus.

I would say the Razr is a tad better, moto is renowned for having good radios
Build quality wise there is no contest for me. Nexus is way too slippery and plasticky for my liking. Modders are already working day & night to make the nexus usable, the Razr works pretty much out of the box. 'When' ICS comes, I think it'll blow everything away.

Im getting razr tomorrow buying it outright optus network TELECHOICE (GSM AUS)
for $600 from monne ponds vic (told the guy id give him a plug)
i'll let you know how it goes in terms of battery life on GSM
as far as i know motorola's antennas are PRETTY SWEET ... so dont worry about reception.. worry about downloading lots to feed that screen with awesome multimedia and moto cast
samsungs antennas are not bad... but motorola's track record with radios is proven (from UHF RADIOS to SATs experience counts)
nexus has ics but is trolling with bugs i had a play with it ... also looks so ugly next to the razr ... only good thing is the screen .....
however that said the bugs with ics troll the phone making it laggy and you can get jerky playback
so i decided get razr with ginger (motoblur customised to be more like an unbuggy ics) then next year when things perfect the razr will get ics
anyhow thats my rant hope it helps =]

Hard for me to compare since I'm using T-Mobile and Verizon right now. T-Mobile's reception isn't too great in my area, so that's a main reason for me switching.
So far the reception on my RAZR has been great. Blows my Nexus out of the water in that respect, but not sure how much of that is attributed to the phone itself.
Definitely want to keep this phone... just wish the screen problems didn't exist.
google and motorola
apparently motorola will have more say with ics and customisations seeing as google acquired some share/part of motorola which comes in handy .. for razr and future moto users =D
maybe stuff pushed to us sooner ?

Got a friend who works over at Moto mobility. He was one of the lead design heads on the Xoom & Droid 4.
The Google acquisition isn't going to truly affect platform builds and blur reductions till late 2H 2012.
They are still working out details on who and what is going where, and how programmers are going to be moved and cut. There's also the small thing of full FCC approval which still hasn't happened as well as EU approvals, which are needed for this (for more info, check out the WSJ article that came out yesterday on the subject). That should be completed by about Feb/March according to him, and then we'll really see some interesting movements. Right now everything is in stasis as far as building and coding are concerned.
So I wouldn't expect any increases in update frequency for a while, and I definitely wouldn't count on Android becoming less bloated on new moto phones for a while to say the least.
There's also been a lot of talk in his office about how Google may not put anything in place, because it could affect their relationship and promises to other handset makers, if they start tweeking with Moto's team a whole bunch.
I'll release info as I get it from him.....although he's interviewing with the automotive division of Moto, as he's not all that satisfied with the position at mobility. They have HEAVY requirements and deadlines, that he seems to think are totally unrealistic....but hey...how many people are really happy with all aspects of their job??
I wonder if the screen issue has been resolved (or even exists) in the GSM versions out there right now. Thinking of getting the Razr but am holding back due to development and the screen issue... Can someone give me an answer about this?

Droid RZR
I just bought the new Droid Rzr today. It seems pretty fast and awesome, however , when I am connected to WIFI, and try to browse in the market, it acts like theres no connectivity. I can browse the web pretty fast when this problem is occuring, then when I disable the WIFI it works. Ive worked for Comcast for five years and I have lots of experience dealing with this kind of stuff, so I know its not the router. Anyone else having this issue?

I kinda have the same issue with you. I think it could be my router because out of the 3 routers that I have tried, only 1 is experiencing this problem. And only with the Razr that this happens. Something to do with the router and the phone settings? Anyone knows what might be the problem?

s4 Vs. ONE upgrade consideration

not looking to start a flame war or someone saying well why not just compare them with all the charts and crap...... really just looking for peoples opinions on which one to purchase with my upgrade....... have 65 days to go than i am going to go with one of these phones. i like the aluminum on the ONE, and i like all the accessories someone can get for the S4... specs are nearly identical on both. if you were upgrading now which would you get and why? TY i love you guys as always
Aluminum can cause Alzheimer's disease.
I wish it were stainless. Sgs4 is plastic. My two cents.

If you can't wait for an HTC with SD card and user replaceable battery, and you don't mind the plastic, go for the S4. A friend of mine has the One. He likes it quite a bit, and I can see why...its a nice phone....but that lack of an SD without a sep accessory is kind of a letdown...

I looked at both at a Sprint store in Bartlett, TN yesterday. I've always been a huge HTC fan starting with the original Touch. But the One has the same problem with LTE as the Evo does. The 2 phones right next to each other, the S4 had a solid LTE signal and great speed, the One was stuck on 3g and couldn't get it to switch to LTE with all the normal tricks. I like the feel of the One, but I think I'm going to try the S4. I may even switch to Verizon, still evaluating the cost with the tiered data. I've been looking at both the forums and looks like Samsung is doing the same thing as HTC and locking the bootloader to stall developers. They even released an update already to plug the exploit. Choose what you like more at this point.

I wish it were stainless. Sgs4 is plastic. My two cents.

i'm not sure if this is some weird joke or not, but there's definitely no link between aluminum and Alzheimer's
http://www.alz.org/alzheimers_disease_myths_about_alzheimers.asp
also, i'm a physician and i've read plenty on the potential links between aluminum and Alzheimer's (and vaccines and autism), and so far none of the many, many studies done on this topic have found a increased risk for patients with exposure to aluminum.
to answer the OP's question:
the HTC one is definitely a more aesthetically pleasing, and nicer feeling (in the hand) device. other than that, each of the devices has its own advantages:
- the one takes better pictures in low light settings, while the gs4 is probably better in good lighting:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6914/samsung-galaxy-s-4-review/7
- the two devices have similar battery life:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6914/samsung-galaxy-s-4-review/2
- sense 5 is fairly subtle, whereas touchwiz comes with a boatload of features (most of which you'll never use, but still)
- as mentioned before, the gs4 does come with a removable battery and SD card, if those things are important to you.
i haven't heard anything about better connectivity or signal strength (although the gs3 was certainly better than the evo lte in that regard).
overall, i would consider the two phones equal, and i'd advise you to pick the one with the advantages that you find more useful for your usage scenarios
You should get the s4. As someone else stated, the one has the same problem as the evo in maintaining a Lte signal.

can other people confirm that they're having LTE connectivity issues (vs. a gs3 or iphone, for example)? i live in chicago, and just switched from an iphone 5 to the evo 4g lte and i haven't had any LTE signal strength issues, so i can't imagine the one would have problems either.
however, this article suggests there are problems in areas that are still building out LTE networks:

if that's true, then it'll be a problem for you since midland's LTE network is just getting off the ground.

I bit my tongue, thanks for stepping in.
yeah midland has about half the town with LTE i have to usually flip on/off airplane mode to get LTE, or wait it out and eventually it will connect. im not to concerned with software capabilities or features of the phone. the second i get one it will be rooted and flashed over to CM or another AOSP os, so the extra features like blink feed or eye gestures will be null. The micro card i think is the strongest point for the S4 as i keep many roms on mine for easy flashing. the look and feel of the ONE though is amazing. also samsungs tend to get better and quicker LTE connectivity here in midland so most likely going with the S4. Really hate to leave HTC though as i have had an HTC phone for the last 4 handsets. Yes the Evo Lte has crappy LTE radios (think i saw someone ask something similar.)

LoL and just below where it said that only a few doctors believed that aluminum caused Alzheimer's disease it said that aspartame is good enough for you... neither of those apartame nor products with aluminum are allowed in my household along with products with partially hydrogenated oils...
back on subject ..... get the s4 man its way better and Odin is a breeze to learn and can save you from a variety of problems and allows a fresh actual stock .img to be flashed at anytime even when softbricked and bootlooping .
htc is always good they were the first and my first was the MT3G and what a beech that was to learn to root and upgrade LoL SGS4 will rule the one in terms of Android Love from the devs
I'm in the same boat, I have my update in 4 days and can't for the life of me decide which phone to get I love the feel of the one and the front speakers, if only they would of made it a 5inch display and kept sd slot it wouldnt even be close
I'm going s4 just for the connectivity issues. My wife's viper gets better signal than my EVO and I've read a lot about the one having the same problem. I know once nv is done in my area it won't be much of an issue, but without an sd card and no data speeds it will be rough keeping space on my phone. I have about 28-30 gigs used up depending on the amount nandroids I have. The cloud is next to impossible to use if not on wifi because of the 0-250 kb 3g speeds in my area. Right now they are running a $50 rebate on the s4 too, so that helps.

Might switch to S4 from Rezound, need advice

Hi, I'm wondering if you all can help me out with some good advice.
I'm currently with a Rezound thinking about switching to the S4 on a 2 year plan. I've messed around with the phone a few times and I'm liking it. I do have my concerns though and this is where I need some good thoughts and experiences from you all.
How is the overall reception for calls and 4G LTE data? My Rezound is great at this and since I updated to official stock ICS, the reception and data has worked well for the most part with hiccups here and there. At my work the reception isn't that good for sprint and tmobile, while att and verizon do better, though not as good as other places outside of my work. My rezound works at my job depending on where I am in the office. I'm hoping the S4 will be at least similar to the Rezound if not better.
Other than that, I've read of people having lag with the s4, is it really that laggy, especially compared to an older phone such as the Rezound? My rezound has lag in certain places, but it still works pretty good. I've tried the S4 in stores and it works very smoothly with minor lag.
The reception is good. But everyone has a unique situation thats all their own because theres so many variables that can affect it. Data is also going to be affected by signal but doing a speed test while having full bars i was pulling 25mb down and 12 up. People have reported much higher tho. Here in idaho verizon has the best coverage hands down tho. As for lag .... no. People that have lag on their s4 are doing something wrong. I have streamed music while downloading torrents while playing games and the phone doesnt even stutter and this is on a stock rom. You can expect even more speed out of a custom rom.
