My experience is that the V6 Supercharger script has been totally useless on newer devices with adequate RAM. It helped a bit on my Eris, but on my Rezound and my tf101, it essentially didn't do a damn thing.
Don't use Rom Toolbox so I can't help you there.
V6 helps in that I have no launcher redraws. Otherwise, little effect.

Me and my friend just downloaded Raging thunder 2 I have the eris and he has the motorola droid. Well let me tell you his rendering on the droid stock rom is running perfect no stuttering and on my device which is the rooted leaked 2.1 its sucks not even possibly playable. It is a great game but not on my phone. Does anyone know of anything we can do or is there something i am missing to make my 3d rendering a little better. There arent any options on the game to lower quality etc. Thanks
Tips?
I would suggest using advanced task killer before running your game, this way any applications sucking up your RAM, will no longer, for a bit.
Also the Moto DROID has a [slightly] faster processor, not much we can do about that one...
Also, are you still on SENSE UI? [I'm running NexusOne Launcher and totally removed SENSE from my Rom, and BAM, increased response from my phone..]
Advanced task killer was and always will be the first app i Install. I am still running sensui I closed it and went to the regular home to see if it made the game faster and it had a negligible effect.
Well...
I am downloading the apk from the app market right now and I will run it in a bit and let you know if my set-up runs faster...
Thanks please let me know how you make out
Soo.. I'm back
annnd I got the thing to run with considerably less lag... still not 100% smooth
I did the following things...
1) My ROM is trimmed down quite a bit, I deleted HTC SENSE UI, didn't like it too much, I deleted amazonMP3, and a bunch of system apps I never use and that keep showing up on task killer
2) I made sure to temp change my live background to a non live background, for obvious reasons [ram, processor]
3)went to task killer, killed apps running
4) opened SetCPU [downloaded from app market, free] and set to 528MAX, and 480MIN <-- I found this setting doesnt make my battery run hot
5) opened Raging thunder and it loaded pretty fast
Now until we can get the kernels for 2.1 and modify the CPU clock speed, aka overclocking we can do too much but minimize unnecessary RAM and CPU usage.
I hope this helps..

Please look into how android does memory management, task killers are a BAD idea. Dalvik/android will kill background apps as needed.
Android22 try using ivan's 0.7 rom.

I am on Ivans .7 Rom again now... reflashed it earlier this afternoon after this. Same results. I dont play games on my device...just trying to help others!
So, I have narrowed down my own lag issues to being caused by the samsung widgets. I been really annoyed with this phone and the redraws/home screen lag. Now, I have wiped, and _never_ added a samsung widget to the TW launcher, and my device is running very smoothly, with 3 home pages populated.
I came to this conclusion when I tried ADW. ADW was running well, slightly sluttery, until I added the samsung power widget. ADW was completely crippled, which makes me beleive drawing that widget takes a lot of processing. I then tried the myagenda widget with the same results. So, now, as a rule for myself, I am not running any widget that came stock on the phone.
i dont have the lag ither but i use a diff homescreen widget.
I have used launcher pro for my phones before but stayed with touch wiz on this one. I removed the stock clock and weather Alps and installed beautiful wigets and the screens are a bit snappier.

not sure i'm comfortable removing all these yet since Clockworkmod is still beta and having issues (means no nandroid backup).
I also run ADW - You should definitely run the V6 Supercharger script version 9.3.6 on setting 9 ( ends with 250,300) and i saw a big difference... also using setCPU performance setting gives me great results. still about a 10% lag i notice.... i've been bugging the devs of golauncher to optimize galaxy note and they been working with me so don't worry.... we will have our cake and eat it too, very soon!

I should have been more specific. You don't need to remove them from the phone, just remove them from your home screen.
Just wanted to say i am running 2.85 beta2 whuch can be downloaded off their website. If u set the icons to "default" size there should be almist no lag. Im literally experiencing no lag... With 12 widgets (6 loaded homescreens too).

theres still a little lag but eh its much better than it was before.
Running the beta and Halo kernel. All is smooth. Typing on the Note actually doesn't suck anymore.

yeah, i have fiddled with ROMS and Kernels - no matter how high you overclock your phone, the GoLauncher just didn't seem optimized for use on the GNote
But I can finally say i'm happy with my phone! lol

Is it just me, or is Go Launcher laggy? The touchwiz launcher feels absolutely smooth compared to it.
It's up to Beta 4 now.
I'm just using the release version of Go Launcher and I feel it is the smoothest of the rest (TW, LPro, ADW).

Well i would assume there would be some final optimizations before they release it to the market. to me at least, beta means unfinished/unpolished product
Does installing the new beta erase all your settings and everything? Or does it just update itself?
just updates your go launcher all your stuff should still be exactly were you put it. Also beta 6 is out and is even smoother
I always used adw-ex on all my phones, it was just too leggy on the Note. I have it set to 9x9 icons with widgets on every page (5). I installed this beta and it was considerably less laggy than ADW. I'm a happy camper lol!
Great find - beta 6 Rocks!
My only ***** with Go is not maintaining sorted folders on the Widget side.
Just installed 6 as well. Don't notice any immediate change. No problems either though. I'll see how it goes over the next few days.
edit: it looks like they took down the 2.85 betas from their site... am I missing it? If not I wonder why...
Well as expected with beta releases there have been a few issues I've experienced that caused me to wait for the market release.
I.e. beta 2 messing with the dock background resulted in a "error must reinstall" type message which reset all the screens. Restore would not recover my settings.
Also in beta 4 somehow when setting the home screen it would actually dissapear.
I know the first issue was fixed but it gets old manually setting up my screens so ill wait for final release of this beta.

The official 2.85 is out in the Play Store now. I updated my beta to it and it runs better than ever, very smooth!
just installed latest from market.
seems faster BUT how come I have to press the home button twice for it to respond now? I couldn't find any settings...
UPDATE: some strange conflict with Magic Locker. Had to uninstall magic locker and now home key working ok.

yea, i was wondering the same. market shows latest update.
maybe they are making a new redesigned version? lol galaxy note specific ? not
*** EDIT ***** if you guys are running the V6 script, try the NitroLAG Nullifier - it definitely helped reduce A LOT of lag on the homescreen. and make sure in GoLauncher preferences "Advanced -----> System Persistent" is UNCHECKED.
My phone is running fine at the moment, but whenever I do many things at once it just slows down. Does anyone know any good tweaks or scripts and such to improve my speed My phone details are in my signature, and for V6 Supercharger I'm using Balanced 3. Plus for anyone using X Kernel, how do I change my phone processor to 1.2GHz?
Thanks

For processor overclocking, I use SetCPU, check from market.
Also, uninstall unneeded apps, don't keep too many widgets at home screen.
Which launcher do you use? Some custom launcher give the option to keep launcher in memory, don't use it as available RAM is then always used by it.
I use Go Launcher and Balanced 3 for Supercharger
Hello xda members!
Well I saw many threads about most popular launchers, about battery tweaks about ROMs and about kernels.
I believe all of us are trying to make the battery of our beloved Samsung Galaxy S II last longer. Some of us we are tweaking the kernels and/or flashing new ROMs all the time and/or changing to a bigger battery.Well I was wondering myself about launchers.Which launcher should we choose...
So I came up with 3 (at the moment) questions.
All the launchers consumes the same battery and RAM?.And If not,
1st...as the title says, which launcher is consuming less battery?
and 2nd which Launcher consumes less RAM?
This thread is about comparing and sharing our experience and our results.
Of course every device is different.
Thanks anyway guys.

Whatever the stock launcher is for the rom you're using (Touchwiz for stock, Trebuchet for CM9, etc, etc). Any other launcher you use will be effectively run over the top of that, and naturally carry some kind of battery penalty compared with using the stock launcher.

Or you can disable the stock launcher with Gemini App Manager and the stock launcher will not run in background. At least thats what I did...

You'll still have system processes associated with the stock launcher running. There's no way around that. And obsessing about every last 0.0001% of battery drain becomes exactly that. Enjoy your phone, and use whatever launcher has the features you want (and get a bigger/more batteries)

I tried Go Launcher EX and its my personal favorite launcher, however that consumed a lot of power for me, so now i am using apex launcher which seems to a little less than Go Launcher EX however i would definitely say stock launcher uses the least battery.
What i wanted to know was, if you decide to integrate a third party launcher into the ROM as a system app via titanium backup for example, and then freezing the stock launcher, would this consume less power as then it will be running from the system ROM rather than internal/external sd? any thoughts on that?
I find Nova Launcher doesn't use much battery when i check the battery stats
I see many of you have different opinions...Well here are mine
I've tried Touchwiz, for some reason is not working properly. :/
I've tried Zeam Launcher which I liked it best but also for some reason made my phone runs more slower which I guess it means that consumes more RAM.
I've also tried ADW Launcher which is good(for my opinion) but I had some problems with freezing sometimes.
Xperia Home Launcher is the one that I found that is running always smoothly,at least to my device, never freezing and about the battery...says 3% after 2 days and 7 hours of normal using the phone without charging(If anyone wants my ex tweaks settings let me know).
