My Ultra Clears came in this morning, and i took a few minutes before i left the house to install and snap a few pictures. First impression when i was laying it down is that the cut is just as precise as all the other steinheil protectors i've used for the original Evo, Epic 4g, and Asus Transformer. The feel is as close to glass as i've gotten, there is just no way for it to feel like glass without being glass, those that have used dry apply hard screen protectors will know what i mean, very slick but just short of the slickness of a naked screen.
In the first shot here, looking at the edges you can see where its slightly uncovered and there you can tell that there is a very slight difference in color in the sunlight with the screen off:

In this second shot is my old evo without a screen protector in the same spot for comparison:
Comparison shot between the two, note my reflection to see the difference:
These shots are of course just of the screen off, which is no real big deal. What really matters is how it looks with the screen on. I would take some pictures of that, but my camera shows the scan lines and i wouldn't want anyone to think that its the screen protector that is doing it. What i can say is that it is completely clear, with no distortion at all.
Folks that swear by the Invisible Shield HD: bring up a white picture and look at the white parts, if you can't see that there is small bits of rainbow flakes due to refraction through the soft material , then theres no reason to think about the steinheils if the zagg feels fine. For me personally, it was very annoying and i couldn't be rid of it fast enough.
What I do have though are two shots of the screen entirely white:
Scanlines are present, but when you're looking at it with the naked eye even up close, the color remains a pure white.
Given the fit and feel of these screen protectors, i would recommend them over the Invisible Shield HDs, in addition to the fact that you get two protectors for half the price. The Zagg HD is getting close to the dry apply type protectors, but for now my personal preference will always be dry apply, and out of the dry apply ones that i've used: Martin Fields, Clairvue, Seidio and Steinheil, I give these both thumbs way up.
And finally, your mileage may vary

Thank you for your review. How scratch resistant/proof are they? I've tried many dry protectors and they scratched so easily I ended up removing it on my 3D and going without one. Of course, the screen scratched within the first week. I tried the zagg hd and it would get "dents" that would not recover. Have the skinomi full body on now, which seems better, although I just installed it today.

Not sure how scratch resistant they are as i've never gotten a scratch on any of them, I still carry my stuff around as if they had no protectors and i've been lucky with drops and whatnot.
I have put them on my friends' Epic 4g, one of them is a girl and she puts it in her purse with all the other crap and isn't too careful with it in general, few light scratches on hers from the last year.
I should get mine tomorrow hopefully and I don't think these are that scratch resistant. I had one on my Evo 3d and it got scratched easily.... Matter of fact I scratched it when applying the screen protector with a credit card... Which I should never do again
Just got the ultra clear in the mail today, I love it, after you wipe it off after peeling of the front plastic it feels and looks as if there is no screen protector on it, I used 5 or 6 different brands this is by far the best oneI used

If there are the same tech as when they were released in 2010 for the iphone, there are reports that the oleophobic coating can wear off after some usage. I stuck with the ultra clear since i wipe my phone regularly anyway.

I think the oleophobic is a gimmick for the reason that I hear it wears off not very long after you put it on. If it does wear off then u might as well have the ultra clear. Have it now on my lte and I have no complaints for fingerprints

I used Ghost Armor on my evo 4g and just put it on my 3d and love it, much better then zagg (smoother) and they send you 2 of them, and if those get messed up they will send you new ones (you pay shipping on new ones, thats it, but you have to send your used ones back w/ supplied delivery method)

Im using the Zaggs smudge finger print resistant version and i like it.
im using SGP antifingerprint/antiglare
I'm using seidio ultimate screen guard. I had it on my evo 4g and liked it. I had the zagg on my 3vo at first but it was too sticky for me. The seidio screen guard is a lot smoother and goes on easily with no bubbles. I recommend it.
Boxwave crystal screen protectors
And boom goes the Shooter...
I also have the seidio but my experience with the application was far different. I guess its possible I got a bad one but there were specs on the back which became air bubbles which I can't remove. I have installed many screen protectors like this one but never had this much trouble. Unfortunately Seidio doesn't stand behind these.
On my original Evo 3D device I had a Zagg Invisibleshield on it. But, after I got a new phone I tried a screen protector simlar to the one in the ebay ad above. Although the actual screen protector I'm using now covers the entire screen, is really smooth, and came with a plastic clamshell case (that I'm not using).
The screen protector and plastic clamshell case are made by Beyond Cell.
Goodluck with whatever you choose...
had zagg no smudge protector, then switched to zagg regular. Smudge proof protector made screen look a bit cloudy to me. good luck on your search!

SGP Ultra Crystal are my favorite.
I've tried 4 different brands now, each has had it's own drawback.
Cloudy, gritty feeling, not as clear, some were "rubbery", some peeled up on the edges, one even smudged more than the glass.
In the end, I went back to just the plain screen, none were as ever as nice as the plain glass was.
I'll just have to be careful with my screen.
Just don't use the Sprint's store stock screen protector. The regular (glare) one had WAYYY too much reflection that I couldn't see anything. The non-glare one was a lot easier to read however it def. took away the quality of the screen. White seems to have rainbow crystals in them.
I'm also looking for a new screen protector now.
Why use a screen protector? I never get scratches unless i drop it.
Every screen protector ruins the screen quality more then even some small scratches and the glass on the Evo 3d is even stronger than on my Desire witch still looks great after more than a year with no protection at all.
No screenprotect is the way to go. Best feeling and experience

it's only $18 on overstock.
Even though it is more expensive, I prefer and would purchase the Seidio kickstand case over this one (looks more professional IMO). Truth be told though, neither of them are suitable for me. I don't understand why all these kickstand cases have this one giant cutout in the back of the case for the entire camera module instead of just smaller, precise cutouts for the cameras and flash like some of the TPU cases (the smaller cutouts provide way more protection for the phone IMO). First manufacturer to make a case with a kickstand and just precise cutouts for the cameras/flash (instead of just one large cutout) will get my business (though I have a feeling I will be waiting a while for that). Until then, I will continue to use my case from tpu-cases.com, which with the exception of the lack of a kickstand, offers the best value and a good balance between protection and not adding too much bulk (at least IMO).
watch the video full screen hd. I think this's the best quality kickstand case out there IMO. why would you need a small cutouts for camera and ect? it's got G glass back and front, I honestly can't understand what in the world you have to do with the phone to have it all rapt up.
I don't know why people think that just because a phone has gorilla glass that its going to stand up to everyday wear/tear/scratches. I've seen numerous threads where the screens of phones with gorilla glass get scratched up just by putting the phone in the same pocket with keys, change, etc. As to why I want the smaller cutouts, I think its only logical that a case that covers up more of the phone is going to offer better protection than a case that covers less. I'm very careful with my phone (gets dropped maybe once per year if that) so while gorilla glass is a step up from regular glass, its no substitute for a proper case. However, if someone doesn't mind using a case with that large cutout in the back, that's their choice, but its just not my personal preference.
I'll live with my purple Case Logic tri-way kickstand case (offered by sprint). Luckily I can pull off purple because I'm manly, lol.
I like that it is smooth, too, as that helps it slip in and out of my jeans pocket.

Because that is the point of gorilla glass. Gorilla glass has a hardness rating of 7, making it impossible for your keys to scratch it. Quartz/sand are about the only things that people can run into on a normal day that will scratch gorilla glass, I had an epic since launch day and now the EVO 3s and I've never gotten a single scratch on my gorilla glass screen. I've even tried to scratch it with my keys to show co workers that it is scratch proof

WRONG. From Corning's own site: "Gorilla Glass features exceptional damage resistance to the scratches, drops, and bumps of everyday use."
I've seen Gorilla Glass take a pounding and come out unscathed, but I've also seen it scratch easily and also completely shatter upon impact.

I fail to see where the quote from cornings sight says that I'm wrong. Look up gorilla glass test on YouTube and you will see that things like nails and keys won't scratch it. Also, if you drop a phone and lands a certain way is gonna shatter no matter what, I've seen phones fall from 4-6 feet and be fine and also seen a drop from less than a foot break the screen

When did you say it was scratch proof? Why don't you read your first comment in this thread, and then my response to it, where I've quoted you. Now you're backpedaling. It might help to look at it on a regular browser, as I've bolded certain things in them. Just because I've scratched Gorilla Glass with keys, does not mean I'm bound and determined to do it. Stop making such absurd assumptions, it only serves to further discredit yourself. Just stop. I'm simply pointing out that you're spreading misinformation regarding Gorilla Glass.

They do? Looking at SeidioOnline.com for the EVO 3D, the only kickstand case they have is the Surface (with Kickstand), with which the kickstand only looks to support the phone in portrait and on the left side (with the camera button up, and the USB port down).
The only case I've seen that supports the EVO 3D in both landscape orientations is the Body Glove Vibe Slider Case, which is hard plastic and only available in god-awful pink.
Hey guys,
Alright, so I just got my skinomi protector. I went for that one over the Moshi, maybe it was a bad choice. I installed it and it's been 2 days since. My screen looks like this now:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

See those ridges? They're constantly there. I don't notice them when the screen is on, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't bother me when using the device. When off however, they're very noticeable. If you run your finger over the phone you can feel where it indents.
If I take my nail and run it along the screen, it will leave a trace, and it won't "pop back up". My friend has a Ghost Sheild on his Evo (which took this pic) and if I do the same thing, the "scratches" disappear after a few seconds. Is my screen protector bad? or did I do a bad install? Or is the thing supposed to look like this?
I have two more protectors that I can try if this is a bad install.
This was my first wet-install, so I probably did something wrong. I wet my fingers using the solution, and wet the protector (drenched more like it) with it. I didn't spray my screen though. I also took my finger and like, wiped the wet side to make sure it was wet everywhere. Then I just put it on the screen, aligned it a few times (keeping it fully wet though) and once It was perfectly aligned I took the install card and wiped it towards the bottom of the phone, soaking any of the liquid that was released with a napkin. I did that untill I got all the big bubbles out, and most of the water packets. It did have water still, but that dried after a few hours, and all the small micro bubbles went away as well.
Thanks for your help.
that looks horrible bro. I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be like that. The most you should get is maybe a slight orange peel texture like how zaggs screen protectors are. But nothing near that. I would try another one and see how it goes.
Alright, I'll try another. Did you read what I did? Is there anything wrong with that?
Mine is perfectly smooth and I did essentially what you described. I didn't spray the screen either, I figured there was already enough moisture involved to scare me. I did not move the fluid around with my finger and I was pretty anal about trying to squeegee every last drop of fluid out.
So maybe don't put so much on next time and don't mess with it by spreading it around.
It only took overnight for it to dry, which is about half what they say.
The only drawback is that it's a bit "grabby" when swiping across the screen. I really wish PowerSupport would make protectors for this phone. Their crystal clear one for the iPhone is awesome.
Yeah, the liquid dried over night for me as well. I just applied another one to my dad's phone, we both got the same one. So if his comes out ok, I'll order another one for me, if not I'll order two Moshi protectors, and try to get these refunded. I'm sure there's no way it messed up like this during install. I didn't crease it or bend it or fold it at all during install.
wet your finger, wet both sides of the screen and do not press too hard when you get the water out, those ridges look like too many indentations made by the plastic squeegee board...and do not use a credit card!
I have been using Skinomi for years, i install it in the bathroom after letting the place steam for 5 minutes. not one bubble, not one speck of dust and love the membrane feeling - so much better then the hard plastic screen protectors.

I've made sure to have nothing but my phone in my pocket without a screen protector for the past 1.5 weeks. Just three days or so ago I noticed that there was a really really light scratch near the top of the screen, right under the ATT logo. It's hardly visible, you have to angle it a correct way. The glass is really good, but it's not perfect. It -will- scratch eventually. I don't want to take that risk.
I just put a zagg shield on mine just to be on the safe side.
I just applied the second one. It came out a lot better, but I have to wait and see the full results.

Yes, GG is awesome... but you CAN get scratches. My iPhone 4 ended up with 1 really obvious scratch on it just a couple months after I pulled off its InvisibleShield.
InvisibleShield was the first thing I ordered for my GS2.

that looks horrible bro. I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be like that. The most you should get is maybe a slight orange peel texture like how zaggs screen protectors are. But nothing near that. I would try another one and see how it goes.

Misconception #1: Gorilla Glass is resistant to scratches--not invincible.
I developed many light surface scratches already just being in my work pants. No drops and always in its own pocket-not mixed in with anything else.
Iphone also scratched. And so did many of my other devices with GG.
And sorry to be prude but why in the world would you even put those types of screen protector to DEGRADE your screen? Great protection, but kills the slickness and radiance of your screen.

Well, the first one looks terrible casue I installed it in correctly. The second one I installed came out loads better. I feel a slight increase in fiction, but the view is still very good. What screen protector would you recommend for my phone?
Don't Buy Skinomi
So here's my story with this company.
I purchased the Skinomi screen protector for my GS2.
I got it, everything seemed intact, but I noticed they had placed the sticky side to the white card board, but nothing over the front side of the protector.
WELL what happened is during storage or transport or maybe just their crappy distribution company, they front part of the protector bound/adhered to the plastic sleeve they placed it in, almost creating a ripple affect on the protector.. I installed it hoping it'd go away, it never did.
I contacted them, they sent me another one, same issue.
It maybe be a good product, but there ****ty distributing company screwed up on the packaging and ruins the product before the customer receives it.
I used a invisishield , my skinomi didn't seem to hold up as well. But it didn't look like that either.

Honestly, just a good ol fashion crystal clear screen protector. I've seen cheap crystal clear screen protectors withstand drops and scrapes with no scratches. (the video showing its capability to withstand knife cuts is impressive, but unless you're using your phone as a shield that scenario is never going to happen)
Bottom line is that both will protect your screen from scratches but neither will protect it from cracks... so it all boils down to preference

So have any of u guys scratched your screen any? Been using a screen protector which is scratched to ****.. been thinking about taking it off cause it messes with the registry of screen touches but I'm scared I'll scratch... how's is yalls holdin up

From my experience, you can scratch a gorrilla glass screen. Maybe not easily, but I have seen GG screens scratched. Just get a cheap screen protector as insurance.

I just noticed a couple of really small scratches on the gorilla 2 like two days ago. It was a very sad day. ): The front is flawless, though.

I hear the Zagg invisibleSHIELD HD is nice. I picked one up from Best Buy. Unfortunately, I tried installing it while on an extended business trip, and messed up the install. Now I'll have to wait to get back to the US to try again.
However, my screen is holding up well. In my pocket most days and not a single scratch on the front or back glass yet (knock on wood).

i just threw this ghost armor clear front and back a few hours before taking these pictures (bubbles showing on the back are supposed to disappear within the next 24-48 hours) and it seems pretty invisible. if you look at it from an angle, any light reflecting off the surface of the film does reveal a slight orange peel texture. now feeling almost as smooth as glass (and i can feel it getting better) and i can't detect any effect on the appearance of the screen (when the screen is on). I'm impressed as I was expecting some kind of distortion with the 318ppi screen.
Last time I bothered using a screen protector on glass was an iphone 3G and it was totally visible and taking away from the appearance of the 163ppi screen. that thing lasted me about a week before i tore it off and never considered using one again even after it was scratched by sand.
I think this film is good stuff.

I recommend it 110%!!!: I have 6 phones (yeah a bit much I know) but the HD InvisiShield is GREAT! I guarantee if you have a couple of fine scratches on it, you wont be able to see them after it is put on there. They are crystal clear too. I traded phones with an XDA I didn't know well and I got a phone with 5 pretty big scratches and one deep key scratch. I cant see any of them now
***** The key is to do what directions say and dont put a case on it for at least 24 hours. When I buy a new phone I immediately go to Best Buy and get one. It may be worth the $7 install if you haven't put them on before. Also when its first installed it will have some bubbles but if you dont mess with it I guarantee they disappear the next day. The difference between the original and HD one is night and day. It dries to a firm surface so it has a glass feel. Trust me on this one guys.
Edit...I installed it myself on my Optimus G and Galaxy Nexus but I screwed one up trying to put it on this big screen so pay the $7 at Best Buy. Actually you can get a bundle and get the HD InvisiShield and a case like the flip cover or Platinum case for $60. If you can find a case under $25.99 its both for $35. Or...you can grab 2 InvisiShields for the $35 bundle price:thumbup::thumbup:
Edit 2..even a grain of sand can scratch your screen. That's why sometimes people put their phone in their empty pocket and mysteriously end up with a tiny scratch

Sand is actually what you have to watch out for. Your keys and other metals that you typically are in contact with daily, not so much.

Nexus 4 glass front and back vs keys, coins, box cutter, wrench scratch test. I put my brand-spanking new Nexus 4 that was just delivered this morning to the test so that you dont have to.
The new Google / LG Nexus 4 has gorilla glass 2 on both front and back. So how scratch resistant is gorilla glass?
My conclusion:
Gorilla glass is much harder than any typical metal you will have laying around. Coins, keys and things you put in your pocket or purse is not going to scratch the glass.
The biggest thing to watch out for? Quartz/sand. Quartz is harder than Gorilla glass and therefore can scratch it (even if the scratches are super fine). Realistically, just like your eye glasses, you will scratch your phone more from cleaning it than using it. The type of cleaning cloth you use is important.
To clean my phone displays, I use the same inexpensive but effective tools that I use for my DSLR camera lenses. 1) a rocket air blower to get rid of tiny dirt, dust particles 2) lens tissue or a clean micro fiber cloth
In case you're interested here are links to the blower and micro fiber cloth I personally use.

I got the ZAGG hd one from best buy on mine and could not be happier...they cost a little more but the differance between it and the cheap ones is like night and day
Zagg Invisishield is Perfect
I always buy Zagg Invisishields for my phones with G.G. I have somehow managed to scratch my phones with just everyday use being thrown in and out my pocket. I dont put it in my pocket with keys or change or anything really my phone always has a dedicated pocket. But still i have managed big and little scratches on my phones. So I like to just keep a Zagg one on just to be sure, plus they will send u a replacement for any reason and they dont argue they just send a new one. The Zagg shield is the best quality and u can barely tell it is on there. Best 25 bucks (full Body) I have spent for this phone.
My UAG case just arrived today and I'm very excited! These cases have a real industrial, well built, and good look to them. For the note 3 there are four colors to choose from Orange, black, white, and slate. I chose slate because I wanted a flat low profile look rather than the bright orange or white case. These cases sell for $34.95 with free shipping on the UAG website. But can be found cheaper on amazon sometimes.
The overall build seems to be very sturdy along the outside and had a TPU inside so the phone has a soft surface to rest against. The remodeled version of this case has cut outs for all ports and holes. The hole for the pen is very big making it easy to access. The case does come with a screen protector.. It is not the best but it works.
The power and volume rocker buttons are extremely easy to click even right out of the box. They are not too stiff nor to loose they give a satisfying click more so than the regular phone buttons.
This case is thin enough that it is still easy to hold with one hand and the sides of the case provide a honeycomb textured grip so it will not slip out of your hands. Since the case does not have a rubbery back but a more hardened texture it will not get caught in your Jean pockets and slides out nice and smoothly.
Some final touches that are nice on this case are that the back and front of the case has a raised lip in the corners so it will never sit directly on the screen or be in risk of scratching the nice finished back of the case. Also the cutout for the camera is glare free so it will not interfere with the camera at all.
Overall this case built by UAG is a extremely durable industrial looking case which will protect your phone from falls. You will more than likely have people comment on your case and ask you where they can get one as well.

Very nice review, I love my UAG case. Had it on since day one and work in an automotive shop.
Thanks man! Just came back from the gym and while I was on the treadmill I dropped my phone and it landed on the moving floor and shot off into the floor.. I didn't even bother to think twice because I knew it would be protected, which it was!

I have a tempered glass protector on. I just didn't bother installing the SP that came with the UAG. That'd be like putting a t-shirt over a bullet resistant vest for 'extra protection'
I use a black UAG case and while it looks really good and does well for protection there is one or two things I've noticed.
First (at least on the black) after having it a while it has started to show scuff marks. This is probably because I don't always set it on an even surface.
Second, I wish the hexagonal side was a bit more grippy. I know that if it were it would be harder to take out of pockets but, just personal preference.
No intention of changing cases and these issues are not enough to make me change cases. I am quite happy with UAG and will look to them first for future phone cases.
The Nilken was out of stock at amazon so I went with the tech armor. Spent some time reading, seems they all work well.

I always thought like uag looked like the end of spigen when I had the uag logo upside down lol
I just got my UAG case, the slate one, and absolutely love it and I have the wireless back and it fits quite well. I also went with a tempered glass protector and had it on before the case so I just kind of chucked the one that was sent with the UAG which was a laugh. Anyhow, I'd buy another one for my next phone in a heartbeat.
Don't hate on the included screen protector... For 1, it's actually decent. I used it until I got my tempered glass in. Second, they don't have to include the screen protector. Most manufacturers these days don't. I really like that they include it. If you tossed it then that was dumb. Always a good idea to have a spare protector around.
