look,system show cradle setting ui!
so,diy cradle is so easy:
just make some cradle size ok,
tape the 1st contact of power plug, and set it on the cradle.
done!
it will work same as official cradle
Hey!
First of all: That sounds really great!
But I do not have a lot of experience with such things so I do not have any idea how to construct such an adapter (ok, the technical way is clear so far, but how to construct the case of the adapter?)...
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks and kind regards

Let me know where you can get the DC plug from, as, I'd like to make a car adaptor, as far as I know, it's a Sony Special and not available (yet?)!!!
Wow, this is a great idea, <robin>! Thanks!
I tried this, and although the cradle function is activated on the tablet (as shown in the OP), it didn't charge after I taped that pin 1 on the charger plug...

Has anyone here tried one of these cheap ones from Hong Kong?
They are cheaper than the nearest option, and come with the right plug too.
It can't be expensive cause it consist only from ac/dc adaptor, usb plug and battery charger. I think it's right device.

I'm sure it is, I just wondered if it's likely to be good quality.
Tell you what, I'll order one and report back here once I've used it.
As promised, I bought it and here's the verdict.
Basically, it does what it says on the tin. There was a slight problem with the usb connection, but that was always the case with this computer unless I use a particular lead. Using the lead that came with it, it wouldn't connect. but using the one I normally use it works fine.

Having used cradles before, this one is slightly more awkward to connect but that's because it uses the usb connector. Previous ones have been spring loaded contacts and the pda would just drop into the cradle. This one requires a little force, but nothing major.
I've yet to determine if the charger works as fast as the original one.
All in all, well worth the money.

Hmm, seems I spoke too soon. The PDA won't charge unless the computer is on.
The 5V adaptor plugs into the back of the stand, as does the usb lead. Either of these will bring on the blue LED on the base, but the usb lead lights it brighter. I suspect there may be some problem with the 5V from the adaptor.
I shall investigate and report back (if anyone's reading this...)
charging with PC off
Hi -- I think I've got the same charger as you, and mine seems to charge fine with the computer powered off. . .
Alan
Having investigated further, it appears that the +5V from the charger and the +5V from the USB are linked directly. This means that with either one connected singly, it's fine, with both connected and the PC on, it's also fine.
But, with the PC off the +5V from the charger is fed back through the USB lead into the PC which pulls down the voltage somewhat.
I discovered this when I turned off the PC and noticed some front panel lights glowing slightly. I unplugged the cradle and they went off, and the blue LED on the charger became brighter.
dock
hi,
i've got the same "hong kong" dock as xmastree.
I think this is a good dock, simple and cheap.

can i use a regular mini usb cable to send files to my phone and or trickle charge it from my computer if my charger isnt available.
i know this seems like kind of a retarded question but the mini usb that came with my phone i lost.. and i know that the end looked a little different then a regular mini usb.
thanks
Yup, I am using a generic one to transfer files. It is recommended to find one with a choke on it but I have used both. The choke looks like a bead or a barrel in the cable near the one end.

what exactly does the choke do?
where have you seen this recommendation?
The "choke" is just a ferrite bead that stops electro-magnetic leakage from the cable so it doesn't interfere with other electronics. I usually cut them off to make a lighter and easier cable to route around my work areas.
look around, you will see the recommendations whenever someone is flashing a rom or working around the inner workings of Android. If your just transferring pics and stuff no big deal, only when you really care about the quality of data will it matter

Umm, the one that I got with the phone wasn't mini-USB. It was extUSB. miniUSB works as well but I find it harder to insert so I just use extUSB. I tried some miniUSB cables that have two of those magnetic protections. extUSB also sits very good in the socket.
My camera, my old cell phone, my G1, and my BT headset all use the same mini USB plug and I use them all interchangeably without any ill effect. I prefer to use the one that came with the G1 at my house while making themes and doing lots of flashing but I use the other ones too for the same things and have never had an issue.
I know the dock will have 2 full size USB ports. But honestly I'd rather just have a little adapter that I can plug into it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have one so hopefully Asus or another brand will produce one to compete!
Would something like this do the trick?

Oh gawd! With this delay and endlessly searching for release times, I forgot about that
How about a dual Female A USB adaptor
Amazon: USB 2.0 Adapter Female A- Female A
...plugged to the cable adaptor that comes in the box?
The cable also has data connectivity for data transfer, it probably should do the trick.
I believe the HongKong electronic shops would come to the rescue. They are known to produce many useless converter before. I don't see why not this time. Probably straight from ASUS connector to USB.
I posted something on on Asus' Campus Life. Please his reply to it and respond requesting this accessory! Look for username Dean.

I hope they make something similar to the hinge on the keyboard dock, so it can actually latch on and has the two usb's and the SD slot, it would also make a nice grip when using the tf vertically. From the pics, what they have so far looks like it's going to stick out a lot and with something that big there is definitely more of a chance it will get knocked out and possibly damage the port.
Dont we have to have usb host support first for the transformer and dont we have to wait for honeycomb 3.1 for that?

Doesn't look so. And some people reported that Female A - Female A adaptors work for some devices (those that have their own power source probably) - there is a thread about it somewhere in this forum. I tried it but my pendrives nor mouse didn't work (there is probably no power line in the USB cable that is used for charging and connecting to computer).

Any ideas on release date to the USB adapter ? Pete
Hi guys,
just buyed a Mi Box 3 Intenational Version (MDZ-16-AB) two weeks ago. Suddendly, after two days of use, the power supply died. Bought a PSP one that works. The problem is that now it don't pass the boot animation, it restarts. It sometimes even show "Android" but then it restarts again. I've tried every guide on the internet for this model and nothing works. I've tried:
- using the images that you only have to put in USB disk and reboot into recovery
- putting the update.zip into the USB disk and then "Install from EXT" -> "udisk"
I always do a factory reset before install an image.
Nothing works, unfortunally. The box stills bootloop. I'm out of ideas so I came for your help.
Do you know any way to get the Mi Box back to stock an working? Do this already happened to someone?
Thank you.
The MiBox uses a very specific 5.2v 2A power supply.
Have seen many problems with more common 5.0v power supplies that dont match MiBox spec.
The huge internal heat sink is the reason for 5.2v requirement.

Are you sure that can be the reason? The only 5.2 2A adapters that I can found costs 20€. Thats almost half of what I paid for the for, would not want to spent that without certain.
Here's the charger that I buyed:

Anyone?
Hi guys! Just to close the subject, it was the charger. I stripped down the 4mm x 1.7 mm of the original charger and a USB cable and put them together. Using the improvised cable with a iPad charger (5.15v 2.1 A) the box lives again .
TL;DR : use a charger with the exact box specifications or the box will not work.
I'm trying to find UART pins on the Bip so I can flash FW without the need for bluetooth. I modded the watch a bit in order to test some pinouts. After probing for a bit with a multi-meter, the four pins along the bottom edge of the top of the PCB seemed the most promising.
My UART to USB converter broke, so waiting on a new one in the mail. But based on my multi-meter readings, this is my best guess for the pinout, but won't know for sure until tomorrow when my new UART debugger comes.

As I said on the other post, you should use st serial wire debug line, denoted in this picture as STM_SWDIO and STM_SWCLK (go here for more information github.com/amazfitbip/documentation/issues/4)
How open the bip?
How have you open your bip without broke the glass on the screen?
I have tried to charge my bip without the origigal charger and have inverted the polarity, now also with the charger no longer turn on, maybe is only a fuse or the battery is dead.
can you write the ic name?

Is it possible to use st link mini?
I will definitely just using direct cable instead of using metal pins another time
The direct pins are easily to break.
