[Q] Tablet P Reader Problem - Sony Tablet S

Not many ebook program support dual screen.
the "Reader by Sony" however doesn't support Chinese character.
There's actually a Reader by Sony (CH) version on market.
However, since my tablet P is from AT&T
it's doesn't allow me to download due to region issue.
Is there a way to install CH version reader from Sony? or any ebook program that support both dual screen and CH?
Thank you all for the help.
ps. tried change the region, not help.

Sadly to say, there's no Tablet P forum and I see most of Tablet P user post here.
(Consider tablet P as tablet S2)
Anyway, if there's any other forum I can post, Please direct me, I would love to post there and get more attention.
Thanks

You mean at the start up??
The only way I could think of is rooting. Then changing the Tablet's region to China. So the tablet would be the same as it was if your purchased it in China. But as you have the ATT version, you may have trouble rooting it.

Won't help your problem but it may help others in the future.

I actually found a extremely easy way to solve the problem.
Remove the original Sony Reader -> change market region (root require) -> download reader form market.

[Q] Chinese LG Android help

was referred here from a reddit forum. i'll just post what I wrote there.
Living in China and I got an LG-P503 today. After turning it on I was seriously disappointed to see that the Marketplace is removed on the Chinese version. After searching around for the past 3 hours online I found that its pretty common, as well as the amount of people it pisses off, but I couldn't find a real working fix for it.
Here's what I've done so far:
* successfully rooted it
* tried several .apk's of the Marketplace and could never get them to load, even using MarketEnabler
* attempted to install the .apk's using Astro and Root Explorer (to manually put in the the app folder)
But now I'm wondering if I can just fix all of this by somehow putting the American version of the firmware on it. It would be great to get rid of all of the Chinese stuff too. Even if its set to English the keyboard always defaults to Chinese and all of the notification messages are in Chinese. I've read online that the P503 is the exact same as the P500. Can anyone recommend anything here?
No Market Solution
Hi.
Welcome to the forum.
You can read this thread for more details about ur problem.
Also, flashing a custom ROM which are unbranded will make ur problem go away.
i recommend getting the void rom or the Prime rom. they are both awesome, but i advise using prime first cause its a nice taste of the overclock. find it in the dev forums, but do not expect guides there: guides are in the general section (mostly)
Market has banned all chinese ip's, so its impossible. Thts wat i think
well i have market enabler installed and the biggest gripe is just that i want a market that is in english.
I'm nervous about custom roms. is there a way to install the american version or the uk version of the firmware? and if so where could i get that?

that is not the case. it seems only mobile version matters. I have a MB501 for T-Mobile and I can access Android Market, while I have no access to the Market with my LG P503.

Sony Tablet P (Crash Bandicoot)

Hi, I currently own the Sony Tablet P Japanese model. The thing is that I actually brought it so I could play Crash Bandicoot on it. Well, to my surprise Crash Bandicoot was not pre-installed into it. It has a golf game pre-install in place of Crash Bandicoot. I was wondering since the Sony Tablets got rooted now, would there be a way for me to get Crash Bandicoot?
I am actually quite new to the Android scene being the Sony Tablet P as my first Android device, so I hope you could forgive me for my ignorance.
Crash is on the Playstation store and does'nt require root, here in the UK it was available as a free download but can now be purchased.
Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for the info, but I am afraid I currently live in Japan. I do not have access to the UK PS store. I have access to the US PS store and also the Japanese PS store and both of these stores do not have Crash available. At least since the last time I have checked it... f^^;
If Crash is on the UK PS store, I do have the option of making a UK PS store account... But I do not have a credit card or any other means into putting credit into a UK PS store account.
Could be a problem then, I have no idea how to get round that one, although I have seen other people in other forums presented with the same problem and have seen some very inventive solutions about account access - mostly in PS Vita forums - you could try looking here :-

Thanks for the advice, but I guess my question for this is that would the Crash Bandicoot apk file be different than the one that is on the Sony tablets? The reason I ask is because I seem to be about to find many Crash Bandicoot apk files and they are usually dated from before the Sony Tablets were released. (If I am not mistaken) I just want something compatible, I wouldn't like the idea of the game crashes or the controls are buggy. But anyway thanks for the info, I will give it a try when I have time and see how it goes.
i think those apk files are for play.... so the date are eariler

Install other country stock firmware?

In a few months time I'll be working in Taiwan for a year. I want to learn and type Chinese. My baseband is i9300xxlh1 and this is bought unlocked in UK. I had a look at my phone at the moment and it doesn't have Chinese inputs.
If I use Odin to flash the firmware to the Chinese one, would it actually break my phone? Or is there any way that would allow me to enable or install the Chinese language input? I tread through the forums and it sounds like I might be able to enable it just by rooting the phone and editing the language settings without flashing it.
Many thanks!
Just look at the Play Store for a free keyboard solution with chin support
It´s the easiest way i think
Yes, the firmwares are fully interchangeable between i9300/i9300t phones regardless of country and origin.
However as said installing a input method might be the far easiest way.
Alternatively you can ask if anybody could share the samsung-official keyboard apk for that location so you can install it.

I tried installing other input methods from play store but they are terrible. It allows you to type Chinese but the english word suggestion is a nightmare to use and you can't switch to the default samsung keyboard easily so I wanted to try the official keyboard apk. I'll google around and see if I can find the official language pack

Missing out (again) on Device compatibility. Virgin TV Anywhere (UK)

I see the Ultra is not supported for this App. Disappointing considering we still can't download with Iplayer.......
Devices which can use Anywhere app
Sony Xperia L (C2105)
Sony Xperia SP (C5302/03/06)
Sony Xperia Z (C6602/03)
Sony Xperia Z1 (C6902/03/06/43)
Sony Xperia U (ST25)
It's Virgin's responsibility to update their app. Send them a mail and ask if they can update it.
The Ultra is missed by a lot of developers. I've had a good response rate from developers and they have all said that they acknowledge the issue and will get an update done.
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
They have only just added any Android support - took them ages. Use the "Contact Us" form on their website to request it to be added, that's what I've done.
If you are rooted there uses a module for xposed called play store fixes which tricks it into thinking the dpi of the phone is different.

I don't believe it's a DPI issue, it's model.
Answer from Virgin Media, not good news:
Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media about the availability of the
Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere.
We understand your concern.
Right now, we're sorry but it doesn't look like we've got any plans to
add Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere App. We're always working with

keep your eyes peeled! And check out www.virginmedia.com for the latest

I don't see why there's a problem, there are many android devices with the same screen resolution and processor.
I would try one of the market helper apps, or xposed, to make Google Play think you're on a recognised device. I had to do this with previous phone, Note 2, to load the tesco clubcard TV app.

Doesn't the phone have to be rooted to use xposed? If so, then the app won't work anyway on rooted devices according to the comments in the store
A late reply but I have a One X which is also not supported. I used Device Spoofer to make my device appear as the HTC One. I was able to download and install the app from the market. In addition the app's record, remote control and program manager functions work perfectly however the ability to watch programs on the phone is blocked by a root checker.

You can only install the app on an approved device though (officially). The TVguide app has record functions but it doesn't have have network remote features.
Why do they do a root check? You can use the software on any PC, with whatever hacks you want installed, but there's some obsession with root on Android...

First of all you need to register an account through oppo website as doing it in the coloros app requires you to have a China mobile number.
Once the account is made download the coloros app using the QR code from the watch.
In the app login using the account you made.
From my experience the coloros which is available in the app store could not connect to the watch. It required the specific coloros app from the QR code given by the watch during setup.

With the Chinese version there is no way it can connect to WearOS. You will basically use ColorOS especifically the one that it asks you to download after using the QR code given by the watch.

There is the Chinese version of the watch and there is this global version. The Chinese version uses ColorOS while the global version uses WearOS. It is a bit tricky to setup the Chinese version of the watch as some of the instructions are in Chinese and the QR code takes you to a site different from Playstore to get the ColorOS. However the global version is a lot easier to connect as its using the WearOS available in playstore.

And you have to register and create an account first using your email address at Oppo's website before continuing with the setup. Once an account is created use the email address as the login information instead of a mobile number as you will need a chinese mobile number to continue.
Hi,
I Also bought a Chinese Oppo Watch (unfortunately). I have a Oppo phone (Model CPH1877) and connected the watch by downloading the "Health app"' using the QR code on the watch. Some apps on the watch are Chines some are in English (I have put the language on the watch on English).
Notifications from the phone to the watch are working perfectly but the Chinese app store is limited. I also mis a payment method on the watch. Only for Chinese banks.
Would love to flasch the international ROM on the watch but don't now how to do that and I can't find an international ROM for the watch.
Anyone ideas???

I also apparently got the Chinese version of the Oppo Watch (46mm) from Bludiode.com in England. I thought I was getting the international version. I have tried to connect it to Wear OS using my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, but it connects and gets about 1/8th of the way through "getting watch information"....then stops.
How did you get your watch to run Color OS? I have tried to use the Health App it wants me to download, use my e-mail address...then it wants a phone number? I've tried suing my USA number, but that doesn't work. I've read other posts where people say that you need an international number for that to work? How did you get past that step?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm sitting here with a $300 paperweight right now. Would love to connect it to something and have it work....at all.

Hi skersh,
I have an Oppo phone as well. So I registered an Oppo account when I got the phone. Since you don't have an Oppo phone I quess you need to register an Oppo account with a Chinese phonenumber. When the watch is connected to your phone via the Chinese health app (Hey Tap Health for Wear OS) the watch works perfect.
Good luck.

Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it. Any ideas on how I can get a "chinese phone number" just to make this watch work? Or, would purchasing a cheap Oppo phone, then registering that phone and getting and Oppo account make the watch work that way?
Just trying to weigh my options here.
I did contact the seller in England and told them that they sold me the "Chinese version" and not the "Global or International Version" and have asked for an exchange or refund. No word back from them yet.

Thank you and thanks for the video link! I'll purchase an Oppo Phone to connect to the watch. I'm glad that you also told me that it won't connect with my Samsung Note, that answered another question I was going to pose. Perhaps, I'll at least be able to connect and use the watch with the Oppo phone and in the meantime, hope that a bootloader is unlocked later on and allows Wear OS to be flashed to it sometime soon!
Appreciate the help! Thanks again!

SUCCESS!
Laurens,
Thank you VERY much for that video! After watching it, I used my phone number (USA) instead of trying to use an e-mail address to set up and account.
IT WORKED!
I was able to connect to my Oppo Watch using my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, after downloading the Health app (from scanning the QR Code on my Oppo Watch) I got it synced up and it's working fine! I did have to use a second phone using Google Translate to deciper some of the setup screens, but I'm getting notifications, I've picked a watch face and everything seems to be working just fine!
I really appreciate your help and for now, will use my Note 20 Ultra with the Oppo Watch.
Take care and have a great rest of your weekend!

Hi,
Glad you.managed to get the watch working with your S20. I am.also considering getting the oppo watch Chinese version and I currently use a Samsung note 10 plus.
What I wanted to ask you is that when the oppo watch is tracking your fitness (steps, workouts) via the health app in coloros, does it also show up on the Samsung health app on your S20?
I currently have the Samsung galaxy watch and naturally it's all in sync with the phone health app but I hate the watch and would love to get the oppo watch in stainless steel!
Would appreciate any info thanks
