I have taken the boot animation from the Sony Tablet S ported it for smartphones. The resolution of the boot animation is 480 x 854.
You need to put the zip file in system/media and rename it from "sonytablet" to "bootanimation". Change the permissions to:
rw-
r--
r--
Video of animation (not mine): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmkA5q7MKgc
The boot animation has now been uploaded to the forums; download the attachment to get the boot animation.

No, you need to put the zip file into system/media and rename the file to bootanimation.zip.
Sorry I didn't mention this in the first post. I'm going to edit it to make the instructions clear. I'll make a flashable zip soon.

Sure.
Here: https://hotfile.com/dl/154768596/1900959/bootanimation.zip.html
This isn't a flashable zip, so you're going to have to place it in the appropriate location and change the permissions:

I can't mirror it right now but I will later.
Make sure if you want to go back to stock to back up your current boot animation. Go to system/media and copy bootanimation.zip into your SD card to save it for later.

If you r talking about changing boot animation.zip.... then its very easy, copy the boot animation.zip you want and paste n replace it in system/media... fix permissions and you have what you need..

Hey, This is my first piece work.
any way.
I have managed to Port the JB Galaxy Nexus boot animation...
It look like this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uuujV6f6_w
Link : https://www.box.com/s/v737vf2k0vvwq7ng9pub
If that does not work Try
: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzVqALAzulVxdGZ4RzZZckNfQjQ
THIS NEEDS ROOT!
Do not try this on 2011 xperia Phones!
How to:
-Download the .Zip file and place on SD CARD.
-Open Root Explorer MOUNT R/O
-Go to /system/media change the permissions of the file "Bootanimation.zip" to Reed, write, execute.
-Copy the bootanimation.zip and paste it on sd card (THIS IS THE BACKUP just in case you don't like the Nexus animation..
___________________________
-Then go to /system/media and delete "bootanimation.zip"
-Then move the New "bootanimation.zip" file to system/media [the one from me]
___________________________
Now just restart your phone and ENJOY.....
I think if you can get the zip file and just swap it in, it may work. But of course backup first just in case

stock roms are odexed..
means some system .apk have .odex files..
i don't know what it does but people say odex rom takes less time to boot..
deodex roms doesn't have .odex files..
deodex roms saves lot of system memory..but takes time for first time boot as it generates some information n dalvic cache...!
you can check if your rom is odex or deodex...just head to /system/app and see if there are any files with .odex extension.
if no odex files means deodexed rom
google will tell you better than me about odex and deodexed rom. !
