I have a couple of font conversion requests...if anyone would be so kind as to create apk's for them I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks in advance! Here they are:
im curious as to how to make fonts for android. ive seen some that come as an apk file (using fontimizer), or downloading ttf font files and simply replacing the default ones. i like the ttf method, but would like to be able to add ttf fonts while keeping the originals installed. if this can only be done with apk files, how do i convert ttf or other fonts to apk?
Questions for both of you.
What device are you using?
Are you rooted?
Does the font have to be an apk for use with fontomizor?
The reason I ask is that rooted devices are more volatile. And if you use a recovery such as clockwork, fonts can be flashed with .zip files rather than apk files. I know this because I change fonts all the time. And because I make the flashable fonts as well. Flashing a zip might not be as quick, but it is definitely more painless.
Please reply or pm me so I can help you out better.

To answer your questions...
Obviously, I'm on a Vibrant, hence the posting in the Vibrant forum.
I'm not rooted & have NO DESIRE to root my phone. I'm not one of those people who buy a phone & try to make it "better" or an entirely different phone by doing all these things to it. If you're not going to be happy with the phone the way it is, why get it in the first place? smh.
I don't understand a damn thing about converting fonts...that's why I request conversions. I tried doing it myself several times, using the guide Alex linked to & I couldn't do it, so I gave up. Luckily for me, & others out there, there are some people on this forum, like Alex =), that were able to pick up the conversion process & fulfill requests when they have time.
Hello is there a way to make fonts a little bigger I dont see gmail. Other roms have use bigger font option but this no.
thanks for help
Yeah, I'm wondering too?
you can install font installer from the market if your rooted, not 100% about making bigger though I'll need to double check
Already tried font installer but doesnt work even with rooted rom.
Try to install devtools then set bigger font.

I am facing same issue after replacing a new font in my xperia s and i finally managed to use fontforge to enlarge the fonts in the ttf file.
It sounds clumsy but i find this is the best way to resolve. Hope this gives you another view.

Use Root Explorer, go to /system/build.prop - open the file build.prop in text editor and you can edit the pixel density of the screen

The reason is because your rooted /system partition has less than adequate space for the new fonts to copy over. Some preroot images do not resize the partition properly, hence font programs will not be able to copy the fonts to the system properly (even manually). Some even report failure in installing / updating busybox.

Windows Phone 7
This is a simple procedure to change the interface of android to windows phone
First of all,I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM YOU MAY CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!
First download these awesome softwares from other cool devs available on the play store or as apks on the net
Launcher 7(Home screen)
Photo safari(Pictures hub)
Z player (Music Player)
WP7 Notifications(Notifications.Duh!!)
My xbox live(games hub)
Wp7 Lock(lock screen)
WP7 Contacts(Contacts)
Wp7 Phone(optional)
Wp7 calculator
Wp7 email
Downloaded? Now for the second step,Shift all the user apps to system apps.Apps like the phone and music should be replaced.Xbox live, calculator can just be loaded.NoteELETE THE ODEX FILES IF YOURE DELETING A SYSTEM APP!!!
In case you dont knw how to make a user app to system read on,else, skip the next para
There are two ways you can convert a user app to system:The NOOB way and the XDA way!
Noob wayownload titanium backup pro, long press an app,go to special functions and click move to system app Or download system app mover.
XDA way:
Important: Make sure to allow any SuperUser permission requests that you may get during these steps..
Procedure
Configuring ES File Explorer for root read/write access (required only once):
Launch ES File Explorer, press Menu and tap ‘Settings’.
In the settings, enable the ‘Up to root’ check box.
Further down in the settings, enable ‘Root Explorer’ check box. You will get a warning that you should confirm.
You will then get the Superuser permissions request that you must allow.
Finally, enable the ‘Mount File System’ check box, and press the back key to get back to the explorer interface. ES File Explorer is now configured to work as a root explorer. You do not need to do this again on the same device now, unless you uninstall ES File Explorer, perform a factory reset or install another ROM.
Finding the APK of an already-installed normal app (skip to step 3 if you already have the APK):
First of all, install the app from Play Store, if you haven’t already done that.
Launch ES File Explorer and go to /data/app. (You may have to press the back button to get to / first).
If you know the icon of the app, you can easily find it here. If you are having trouble finding the app here due to the confusing names or because of having a lot of apps installed, just search for the app in Google Play Store in a web browser and look at its Play Store link for the name. The file name will basically be the part after ?id= in its market link (and before any other question mark that may or may not appear in the link).
If you already have the APK of the file that you want to install as a system app, make sure you have transferred it to your device’s SD card if you haven’t done that already. Also make sure you know the path where you have copied it on the SD card.
Once you have located the required APK on the SD card from ES File Explorer, tap-and-hold on its icon till you get a menu, and tap ‘Cut’. You should see a little blue arrow on the bottom of the screen now. (You may select ‘Copy’ instead of ‘Cut’ if you are copying a file over from the SD card and want to keep a copy there. In case of copying an APK from /data/app, always use ‘Cut’.)ES File Explorer Copying
Now press the back button till you reach / and then browse to /system/app/
Tap the little arrow that you see on the bottom of the screen. It will bring up a pane with the icon of the copied file.
Tap on the file’s icon, and it will be transferred to /system/app/.
Now find the app’s icon in the list of files there and tap-and-hold on it till you get the menu.
Scroll down in the menu till you see ‘Properties’ and tap on it. You will now see the properties dialog.
Tap the ‘Change’ button in front of the Permissions to bring up the permissions dialog.
Make sure everything under ‘Read’ is checked, only ‘User’ is checked under ‘Write’ and nothing is checked under ‘Execute’ Your screen should look like the following:ES File Explorer Permissions
Tap OK on this screen and then on the Properties screen. Your app’s permissions are now set correctly.
Reboot your device. Your app is now ready to be used as a system app.(optional)
Well were done!
youre ready to use ur brand new WP7!!!

s voice needs lots of space in the system rom,
i think we cant install it unless a stripped down version is available
hey dude, thanks for tutorial.
The title says it all. I've been looking for 3 days and I can't figure out how to install a font so the built-in font chooser will recognize it. I have LG Smartworld installed and I can download and use fonts from there through the font chooser. Their selection is pretty limited though. I have also tried out the various apps (Fonter, iFont) and had unsatisfactory results. So which files go where to make this possible?
Edit: So this would seem to be the answer to my question. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3011006
Thanks to @Valsorim for the OP!
I am pretty sure you just place the font TTP file in SYSTEM>FONTS
You need to have access with some type of root file explorer app. Then set permissions to match other reboot and it should show up as an option in the fonts to choose from.
Have a great day! from my LG G3

I'm a little leary of that. For the fonts that are available in the settings menu, there are two files for each one in System/fonts. One is (Font Name)_Regular.ttf, the other is (Font Name)_Bold.ttf. I don't know if I rename the same file for each or if I should have separate bold and regular files. Another thing is that the files in System/font are big compared the .ttf files I extracted. The extracted files are between 80 and 120kb. The ones in the font picker are 800kb to 1.3mb. Seems like too big a difference. The last thing I noticed is that downloaded fonts from LG World don't show up in that location, only the stock fonts. Haven't found where the downloaded ones go yet.
The ROG phone 2 supports flipfont, and with zFont you can generate custom fonts from ttf files.
Start by picking your file.
Locate to "Local" and click on the file icon.
Here's the tricky part, select "Samsung"
Only "Kikat and below" and "Lolipop" option will work, as others will not generate flipfont
Install the apk and profit
Imgur with all the steps
This should also work with any other devices that uses flipfont
I've linked my google sans font below for reference.
Hit Thanks if this helped

the attached APK google sans worked..
otherwise flipfont didn't work.
z font will allow install and is able to change in the setting ( system font setting) but no difference what so ever. I guess the fonts have to be converted or something and then one can install flawlessly. Which brings me to my question .. how to make the fonts user ready?

-ROG II 512 version with WW rom...
-Flip font got stuck in the loading screen.
-I downloaded some fonts with the zfonts app and got some fonts installed.
-Font manager I guess would be the one in the Phone settings?
-The downloaded fonts from the zfont show in the phone font setting but there are barely any changes.
I did download the attached Google sans serif APK which directly installed in the phone font setting.
When applied it worked Great.

Zfonts worked for me. I will tell u how
1. After downloading the desired font or installing custom ttf font file which u hv downloaded from the elsewhere (from zfont app), select the samsung option while setting.
2. After selecting Samsung option, select "kitkat and below" or lollipop - 5.0 & 5.1.1 (i hv selected kitkat and below)
3. Install the apk after seleting any of the either option and bang?????
Check out ur font manager under display tab. There u will find the font which u hv selected the zfont app.
Also the google sans apk that is provided in this thread works as good as zfont.

ONE UI CUSTOM FONTS
Samsung One UI using zFont 3
GUIDE AND TROUBLESHOOTER
Google Fonts
LAST EDIT ON MAY 14, 2023
1) Download and install the official Samsung Sans system font from the Galaxy Store. This is the non-modified version for creating the initial backup. Once installed, manually change your system font to Samsung Sans from Display > Font Settings.
2) In Samsung Cloud, create a backup of only the settings while your font is set to Samsung Sans. The first two steps only need to be done once for all subsequent custom fonts.
3) Uninstall or update over the old Samsung Sans font with the new custom zFont Samsung Sans font file which contains the font you want to change to. This uses the same package name (com.monotype.android.font.samsungsans) as the official font to trick cloud into thinking it's legit. GOOGLE FONTS has a huge open source selection of fonts that can be downloaded in TTF format.
NOTE: There's also an option to use other fonts in zFont instead of Samsung Sans, but if you choose those, you'll have to create a new backup with the official version of that font selected.
4) Change your system font to "Default".
NOTE: Your custom font should be present within your font list after installation. When updating custom fonts, it might appear as if the correct font is already selected but your new font won't actually become active until you refresh it by unselecting and reselecting the font which requires the Samsung Cloud workaround since you can't select a modified font manually from the font menu or you'll get an error.
5) In Samsung Cloud, select the option to restore. Uncheck all options except "Settings" to restore only the settings that you backed up in step #2. While it's restoring, you'll see the text on the screen update to your target custom font prior to reaching 100% complete if it's successful. Once the restoration is finished, you'll get a dialog popup asking if you want to delete old backups, select the NO response so the backup can be used for future fonts.
6) Verify your font changed from "Default" to Samsung Sans or whatever custom font option you selected. Font settings are usually located in the device's Display settings. Once verified, restart your device.
NOTE: Not all text will be replaced with your updated font until after a system reboot. Verify your font was automatically changed to the new font from Default prior to rebooting. If it failed to update, continue to the troubleshooting steps below to verify system applications.
Subsequent Updates: To update your font while a backup of the device settings is already created (with the correct font file selected per step #2), just update custom font file, change font to default, restore settings, restart device (or just start at step #3). No need to create a new backup unless the original backup is lost.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Samsung Cloud custom font workaround will not work if you debloated your system applications. Samsung Cloud relies on several pre-installed applications to restore all settings back to its former backed up state, especially font since it seems like getting the font to restore is the toughest setting to fix if debloated. I'm not sure 100% exactly which applications affect this, but I've confirmed that it's only Samsung Apps.MUST BE INSTALLED AND ENABLED

CONCLUSIONNot sure which ones exactly it needs but you don't need to rebloat every single application. I do know it's several of the preloaded Samsung packages. All the applications listed are related to Samsung Cloud one way or another. They must be INSTALLED and ENABLED! If I end up narrowing the list down further, I'll update this list of required applications.
