Hey all! You will like this one. I made a old computer style boot animation, which not only looks like the old-PC BIOS boot, but It has the correct info about the Galaxy Tab 8.9, so it looks very real. Additionaly, it also has a Windows 8 style animation after the first one ends. currently, the way you install this is to copy it to /system/media with root explorer (replacing any potential current one). Here is a link! https://www.dropbox.com/s/rsagq9d47z11a4e/bootanimation.zip
P.S. Screenshots are uploaded below,
Awesome
I love this!
Thanks!
Moved To Themes and Apps

Requirements:
The android SDK (just google it)
A zip programm like 7zip (just google it again)
first you wil need an animation. soo lets get that don.
ist very easy. all you need is a number of frames in png format.
then number like 01.png, 02.png etc...
you can name them anyting jou like as long as there is a numeric order.
next we need is a "desc.txt" file here you will gif instruktions about the animations speed etc...
320 480 15
p 1 1 android
*note there is an extra line here. without it it doose not work. downt ask why*
Click to collapse
first 2 are the screan size. therd one is the FPS or frames per second
the p is needed. then you have the starting animation type en ending (i gess). 1=play once 0=loop. behind that you have the dir where the .png files are in.
Se the bootanimation.zip atached for an example (note this is the original boot animation of my legend)
now zip it all up with the compression rate to 0 or store so it doosnt get compressed.
Next we are gona shuf it up androids @ss
If you have not then install the android sdk en follow its instuctions.
enable "usb debugging"
connect your phone to your pc
place you bootanimation.zip in the "tools" dir of the sdk
open a command prombt (cmd)
cd to the "tools" dir of the sdk
type "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local"
????
This cake is not a lie
hope you while make some awesome animations
and sorry for any typo's and grammer fials
Thanks for the guide! I'm just gonna find the perfect animation and create some awesome bootimations!
Edit: Works like a charm! Thanks again!

So someone created this for the xoom:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...tscreens-that-will-really-turn-your-phone-on/
Wondering if the displayed info can be edited by someone with the know-how so it would be more nook-like?
Would be a very cool retro boot animation for sure!
I believe the maker of that boot screen also made one for the NC. but just for future reference its actually imitating BIOS boot not dos as any OS must be booted through the BIOS and how it looks depends on the computer. Anyway heres a link to the forum
You can just download any of those files, and rename it bootanimation.zip then place it in your data/local they work fine for me.
This bootanimation is created by eyesonlybob
just thought I would share the working version on here since I had to do some digging online to find the working non blank version for our respective device

it won't be as appealing if it loops... and looping was giving me issues such as the android just disappearing and a black screen staying on till boot. anyone wanna edit the images and add more animations? Maybe a CRT turn off animation similar to the portal boot animation, and then put a text saying Android or something?

i tried to make it loop as well and couldnt figure it out. as far as i understand the part1 folder is the one that loops. i copied the images from part0 to part1 and renamed them in sequential order and got nothing. maybe one of the pros on here could help us out?

you want the original bootanimation.zip file that is supposed to loop? its f*cked since the black screen keeps coming on instead of a loop :S this is actually a evo boot animation tweaked for our device (evo takes sh!t long to boot)
I can edit the images but IDK how to do a crt animation on photoshop using different images
Will this work on myt4g with S=off and stock everything?
Yep it should
Rooted/OC'd/De-bloated
For the boot animation loop you have to edit the text file that is for screen size frame rate and how many times to play each folder.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Is there any chance that this will work on my rooted HTC Incredible S?? I love this mod
Download link is dead, can you please update it?
I have found a system dump from Droid 3 which includes all their wallpapers, sounds and also boot animation. It's located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1164736
drumercalzone09 was nice enough to created a CWM update file of the boot animation with sound. Get it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185339
original files from the dump
Media Dump (ringtones, notifications, boot animation)

Wallpapers

If the Droid 3 is qHD, I'm pretty sure you can manually add the boot animation through Root Explorer.
Just rename it to bootanimation.zip and move it to system/media. It will be in the same location on the dump
As for the sounds, they should be in system/media/audio. You can put them on your internal SD card in media/audio/** where ** is ringtones, notifications, alarms respectfully
For the wallpapers... you could replace the stock Atrix ones under /res/drawable/Launcher.apk, but you'd lose the stock one, and I'm not sure exactly how you'd do it. You could always just make a folder and find them in the gallery.
I'm gonna try out the boot animation and sounds and report back!
EDIT: if you play the deerdeer notification in vlc, there's a little easter egg!
Another follow up: the boot animation works perfectly! Very nice looking too.

Thanks for testing it man. I guess we don't need a dev anymore.
Will be installing this puppy on my Atrix now.
Blue Droid 3 Boot Animation
Hey guys last night I threw together a blue version of this. ENJOY!
You will need to rename the zip to bootanimation.zip and put into your system/media or data/local folder to use!
If you like it or use it please press the "Thanks" Button!
i tried the method above with root explorer but that was a no go for me. instead i used root tools. renamed the file to bootanimation_backup.zip and placed it in the root tools folder. that seemed to work for me but i still get no sound though. i like the blue droid 3 animation and am using that one. thanks!
The boot animation looks sweet. I'll see what other goodies there are too. Thanks, man!
Hey Guys
I wanted to post my first Boot Animation Made by me, and there are more to come. The name of this Animation is called Maserati Madness. It basically a video clip of a Maserati GT around the track (Top Gear) This is the first time I done something like this, so I would like to hear you guys opinion.
How To Install:
OPTION 1: Use BootAnimation Factory to install it
OPTION 2:
Use ES File Explorer.
Mount the System as R/W
Paste the Boot Animation in the folder where your stock BootAnimation is installed (either /data/local/ or /system/customize/resource/)
Download Link: http://d-h.st/gbI
I don't know how to preview my boot animation, but I will post a couple snapshots of it. If anyone could show me how, that would be awesome.
Thanks
Link is dead mate....
