Do you have a live wallpaper set on home screen? That will cause it.

Nope just a regular static
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
My ripple effect has gone now i have set my live wallpaper on the lock screen too.
This is normal as far as i am aware due to graphic rendering. So perhaps it depends on what type of live wallpaper is used.
I'm running the Fresh Leaves live wallpaper.

Im having problems setting a wall paper that I want to use, every time I try and select the image I want to use my phone takes me to gallery to resize the picture, I guess to fit across multiple screens. Trouble is I don't use wall paper scrolling and just want the image as it is to remain static as I change screens. Does anyone know of a way round this?

Which launcher are you using?
The only way to do this is of your launcher supports it.
And even then, for the picture to look ok, you need to edit it on your PC, place it in the middle of a black 960x854 image, save it, then transfer and apply on your phone, then enable the No Wallpaper Scrolling option in your launcher.
As far as I know, ADW and Launcher Pro support this.
Xperia X10i via Tapatalk
Launcher pro plus, I already have disabled wall paper scrolling. Will try editting on pc tomorrow. I downloaded the image directly to my phones sd using xda app, perhaps this is the reason it won't work. Thanks for replying, am getting some sleep now so will check back here in the morning. These are all workaroundd.. there is an app called dodol wallpaper maker in market.. it does the stuff you want.. moreover it also changes the selection by default.. i mean once you apply potrait wallpaper.. it remembers your choice and then when you select your wallpaper from gallery it lets you choose a potrait wallpaper.. same goes for. Landscape.. check it out..

I tried but gallery still forces the image to be resized.
Don't worry about it now anyway that app linked above does exactly what I wanted to do.

I always use multipicture live wallpaper since it can preserve the transparent status bar if you have one in ADW or Launcher Pro..
Thanks for this. However what about picture frame? I used picture frame widget and it asked to crop the picture, any application can make the whole picture for the picture frame widget?
Is there a way to get the wallpaper to stay put when scrolling between homescreens?

If you're on stock launcher no. I adw you can disable wallpaper scrolling and if you'd just like to use use the stock launcher then use multi live wallpaper

Have you tried ADW??? If not... You really don't know what your missing m8. Just about every short coming or gripe I've read that people have with the stock Honeycomb launcher can and is addressed using ADW. When I got my Tab I set it up using the stock launcher and ran it that way for a few days. The laggieness and lack of customization kind of started to big me, then the TW update rolled out and I hoped it would change things. The TW update did help out a little, but just didn't fix the lag of the stock launcher. It did get rid of most of the Tronish look, but that was about it.
I installed ADW(i've been using it for almost a year now on my evo) and all was fixed. No more lag, and my Tab truly became "my Tab". I'd say download, install and setup ADW and then.... Just my opinion.
Here's a couple of screen shots using ADW....

Check your weather widget's settings. I've seriously never seen those on my Samsung. Only on my Desire.
I've been running a custom rom from the start.

Seriously, you never seen that before? It's always been there since I have had my GS2.
I am also on a custom Rom.
Also, there is no option to toggle this on or off. It's annoying because everytime I unlock the phone, I can't do anything until the animation finishes!
I also have never seen that before.has that animation been there when you first got the phone with stock firmware?

To be honest, I can not recall it never being there. As far as I can remember, It has always been there since day one. This is wierd, I can not be the ONLY one who has the cloud animation when unlocking the phone. am I? It is like how we get the animation on HTC Sense (Homescreen) but I hate it.
Does anyone with GS2 have the cloud animation like mine?

Tapping the screen after the animation starts does stop it then you can do what you want.

hey guys.
I do have BW installed but i don't use it. Neither WL nor FW. However, i have checked the settings on BW and unlock animation is turned off. Its not a big of deal but i would like to use my phone as soon as i unlock the phone. I can touch the animation (clouds) and it stops but does slow the phone down. I'm confused. I might try and uninstall them even though i don't use them and see if that makes a difference.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
OK guys, found the culprit! Lol!
It was along the lines of the previous suggestions!
It was a weather widget extra add on(which again i don't use)that had the unlock animation ticked.
I totally forgot i installed it. Lol!

I would like to thank you all for your help and suggestions.

I don't think so - the stock wallpapers scroll perfectly fine, after all. I think it's just a bug in the software.
