Woke up this morning and all was fine, sent a few messages etc. but now for some reason my accelerometer has just stopped reacting and screen won't rotate.. Tried Facebook, Browser, Messages and the screen isn't rotating in any.
Anyone else have this issue or know of an explanation/solution?
Thanks
First of all try to reboot. Then try to recalibrate the accelerometer under Settings -> Display

It seems my phone is no longer syncing normally as expected. GMail doesn't seem to be pushing email and the built-in EMail app isn't notifying me either. Other random apps aren't syncing properly, either. It happens over both 3G & Wi-Fi. Sometimes restarting will fix for a moment as everything gets synced and notifications pop up for G/EMail. Twitter is about the only app that seems to be working properly.
Also GPS constantly stops working. A restart usually will re-enable it but it keeps failing. Opening Maps or other GPS-enabled apps does not get fix (GPS icon never appears). Even the GPS On/Off toggle does nothing most of the time.
I'm running Eclipse 1.3 on a 2.3.4 kernel with the beautiful ICS theme (Email app NOT themed). No settings were ever changed and checked to be set properly. I've even tried wiping Cache/Davik without success. I want to see if there is anything I can do before trying to Wiping/SBF back to 2.3.4 stock and reflashing.
Anybody have an issue with random wake ups? I have noticed if my phone is just sitting itself it turns on itself as if I were getting a text or a call and ends up being nothing, I know my proximity sensor works well during calls, but can not figure out why the screen wakes. Anyone know a fix or a setting for this?

This just started happening to me today. Not sure what's going on. Nothing is different, stock rooted rom. No new apps. Same case.
Check for wake lock and clear the cache on any apps that look like they are causing wakelock and reboot phone
Did all that, I'm waiting to see if it does it again.
Okay found a new one this morning. Looks like something to do with Google maps
Edit: definitely not Google maps. AudioOut_3 is the culprit. I looked on Google and it happens a lot on a variety of different phones. There are a lot of different ideas on what it is too. Some say it's ringtone related, some say it's music player related. Anyone have any ideas?
This is after clearing maps
After listening to music force close the app you are using, after playing games or anything else that uses media services, sometimes even after task manager ends the app for more resources the services stay on. I think its so the the os feels more responsive. It's like HTC camera, launch it from a clean reboot and it will take a lot longer for the first startup then it will for subsequent start ups.
That's good advice, but this screen shot was taken before opening anything, fresh reboot, about 30 minutes on but screen off.
Well I can't think of anything else that uses audioout_3
It must be starting up after boot-up. My main player is playerpro.
I think I discovered my issue, the past week I've been flashing different roms and I have started using the superwipe zip. I had issues with each rom I flashed. Last night I reflashed the stock rom, only wiping and not using superwipe and it seems to have fixed whatever issues I was having. I'm not saying it's the superwipe, but I may have a bad download of it, or it doesn't like my phone. I'll be keeping an eye on it for awhile and report back.
Ok scratch that. It must be an app doing it. I think it might be a game called 'plague inc.' it doesn't seem to affect battery life, but it is annoying.

I had similar issue,
in my case, mp3 downloader's ad Notification was waking up my screen,
I found it out by using app "Wakelock detector" WLD at GooglePlay
you need to check for "full wakelocks", check the screenshot
SD Card Corruption
I have had the same issue on my EVO 4G LTE and just got a replacement device... still having the same problem. MY SOLUTION: Removed my SD card which recently was corrupted. This fixed my issue. Apparently the phone would register an SD card inserted every 20 seconds or so because it couldn't fully read it, waking it from sleep mode. Hope this helps!

For some reason Dolphin is all of a sudden constantly pinging the accelerometer on the phone even though I do not have Sonar Shake activated. GSam shows Dolphin using sensor almost the entire time the phone is off charge. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it's still doing it. Anyone else have this issue.
This is annoying anyone have a solution?

It happens to me also. Ive tried turning gps off, closing all apps and services but it is still there. This doesnt happens with custom roms, it only happens with the stock rom. But when go to battery in settings it shows me that gps is off, but i cant get rid of that notification.
try to go to apps that need GPS location (eg facebook or maps)
i happens got to that situation and then i go to facebook apps and GPS star to blink and then i just press home and the GPS sign is gone
Ive solved this, force stop facebook wont work, the only way to avoid this issue is uninstalling facebook app, and problem solved!!
Sorry for my bad English
Then my Nexus 9 does not rotate the screen, only at the beginning or just turned on for a few minutes after setting Automatic Rotation ... Also, if you start from a Movie Play Video forcing the rotation when out of the movie screen is in landscape and there is no way to get it back upright unless restarting ... Solutions?
I have already restored twice, but remains ...

i have the same issue.
after some testing, it's related to the GPS (or more broadly to location).
whenever an app calls the GPS (like opening gmaps), gyroscope, accelerometer, gravity and magnetic field sensors seem to shut down, which means that the screen will no longer autorotate (among other things)
restarting the tablet seems to be do the trick until another app calls GPS again.
BUT after using it for some time, the sensors eventually shutdown and only a factory reset clears the issue. (in which case you restart the cycle over and over again).
for those who report the issue at first boot, it's probably due to restoring apps and having some apps call gps automatically at boot to determine location.
anyway it seems to be software based.

So she resolved by turning off the GPS? Google is aware of the bug?
Yup, I have the same issue with auto rotation. Hopefully a software update gets this fixed asap

I did change, I think that unfortunately both Hardware
The new Nexus 9 works fine: D
In my case activating Google now caused the trouble with the screenrotation.
Since deactivating it and reboot no more problems with screen rotation
I have tried all the above - hard reset, disable GPS, disable Google Now, etc., and still can't get auto-rotate to work. Any other ideas?
I know this is an old post but I have been having the same problems with auto rotation of the screen not working. I factory reset my device, auto rotation worked, and did a restore of the apps and it happened again. I then started over (factory reset) and reinstalled one google app at a time. I think I found the problem to be the Google Camera app. As soon as I installed it, the auto rotation stopped working (I could tell because when I went to the video setting on the Google camera app, it would not rotate to Landscape.). I uninstalled the Google camera update, force stopped the app, and disabled it. Now I have no problems with auto rotation of my screen. Also, noticed that the area around the camera would get quite hot after the Google camera app updated. Google needs to fix this for the N9!

Wow! I think you figured it out. I uninstalled Google Camera using Titanium Backup and my auto rotation works again. Decided to install it back from the Play Store, and sure enough, I lost auto rotation again. Leaving it uninstalled, might install another camera app from the Play Store, just to set what happens. Thanks!
Update : So after playing with it some more, it looks like using Google Maps breaks the Auto Rotation. Clearing it out of recent apps, and waiting a couple minutes, the auto rotation comes back.
