Hi guys,
I'm just posting this hoping that it will save some phones: I pushed my micro-sim card a little bit to hard in the slot (but only slightly), and it seems to have broken the spring that ejects it.
Now, the SIM does not stay in the slot, it always comes out. I had to block it with a little piece of plastic that holds between the SIM and the battery, and it works fine.
My point: be very careful with that micro-SIM slot!
I would send it in for repair, but i rooted and flashed already...
Just a word of warning !

Hey!!
I am needing a micro sim card adapter that works with the ol' beastly Note. I would appreciate it if you can show me what works well for you guys.
Thanks very much!
Just a quick heads up. Make sure there is some type of adhesive on the adapter to hold the microsim or you'll be in a world of trouble. I had one without and the sim adaptor got stuck in the prongs. It took me 30min to take it out with any damage but some people have broke their phones trying to rescue the adapter out.
I agree be careful of the adapter that you use

This might be a silly question but, why not talk to an AT&T rep at one of the stores and get a new sim? at most it should cost $5, last time I needed one they just gave me one.
Just a thought
I used an old membership card (Supermarket card to be exact), cut it to the approximate size and cut out a hole for the micro sim. I've done this twice without any problem. I used a piece of tape to hold the smaller sim in. The homemade free adapters work in my Dell Streak, my Galaxy Note and my wife's Galaxy Nexus just fine.
You can find templates online with a quick google search.
I'm sure you solved this by now but adapters are $.99 or less on eBay every day.

I bought these.. and they work great,, tried the ones papabear showed.. they for me were to flimsy....
Nope, its FREE! People would rather break their phone rather than go to the store and get a new sim -_-

Getting a new sim is easy,, but if u switch between devices alot like me. then a micro sim and adapter is the way to go.. i switch between my one x and note and galaxy tab alot..
Why does it list my device as using a micro sim when mine uses a normal sim?
I got a cutter. Cut my full size SIM and now have a micro AND an adapter. Go to att store, they'll give you a SIM.

Haha coming from an HTC one x(that came out broken) i had to get my sim cut to a microsim as my only replacement choice was this Note1.. i simply kept moving the tiny simcard abit more in.. abit more out.. abit to the left side suuper slowly until the phone read it lolz and i havent taken out ever since
Frugality ftw!
I have the maxx, and for the last few months my sim card pops itself out of its holder, and my phone flips out and looses signal and says no sim card inserted. It has gotten so bad that I have to keep an otter box case on it to hold the sim door shut. I am rooted and rom'md, and I bought it last June so I do not know what my options/fixes are. Has anyone had this problem before? Should I just unroot/return to stock and try to get a new maxx? I do not have the money for a new phone and my upgrade is late this year...opinions? Thanks guys.

Just replace it if it's on a warranty. It's a mechanical problem, it shouldn't be a problem even if you return it rooted or with a custom rom. (depending on the terms of the warranty and where you live)
Have you stuck someone elses Sim card in and seen if it stays? It should lock in like the sd card, so i would check with a different Sim card first, maybe your cards tab is worn out.

I guess I'll call *611 tonight and see if I can send it in for a replacement, I would like to start on a fresh phone anyways. Thanks guys, I was thinking super glue the sim card in there but then I thought again...

indeed it' isn't that hard to cut it by yourself.
I went into three shop thinking I need a new smaller sim and he just cut my old one down for me

I did think of doing it myself, even checked some youtube videos but the chip on my sim seems larger than the slot in the sim tray on the OP2 so I decided not to risk it. On Three here as well and they had no problem issuing me a nano sim.
Glad all is good!
Nothing more needs to be said though. There's existing threads for just about everything.
Thread closed.
Thanks,

Hi ..
I mistakenly left my NANO SIM try inside the slot and now while pulling it out, I broke the teeth. PLZ help!

Me, too
I broke my SIM card reader, too. Stupid mistake, I should know better. I could get a replacement reader, but I don't have the skill to replace it myself and I don't know who I could send it to to get it done. I miss my Ultra.
I wanted to use dual sim+SD card .....but my sim card tray is stucked........it is not getting out at all.......please help me
Feeling sorry for you bro...i wanted to try the same. Now i will never try to use dual sim and sd card altogether in the tray.
I had already burnt 1 of my sim cards while trying to separate the sim card chip from the plastic.
i suggest you should contact any good mobile repair shops to help you out.

The tray's height is really very small! Several times, I did not receive signal on the second SIM due to the SIM chip always slightly 'moving' away from its original position when I slided in the tray. Only some better glue could help here..
But from this experience I know that it can be very tricky to open the tray one more time after all 3 cards are in. In used a paper clip to pull hard - and I mean really hard - several times from the trays hole. This worked for me several times. The tray flew several meters ... Wish you good luck!
edit: I used a 64GB microSD card from Lexar and I suppose that the card's height is slightly depending on the memory capacity. If you tried 128GB card, it may be much worse. Dunno how the different vendor's card differ regarding the card's thickness.

there is absolutely no lucky here, the key is how to make your sd card as thinnest as possible.
i use sand paper and applied to my sd card on trade mark side, and it can be as thin as i want. use double tape to attach 2nd sim on sd card and it can be work flawlessly.

yes...as smooth as before...
becareful if you want use this way, if you make your sd card too thin, your phone won't read it. if this hapen, put any plastic tape on the backside of your sd card and the phone will be able to read it again.
