[Q] A problem with doom kernel - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

After I flash the doom kernel V4a, my Xperia s sometimes shutdown itself, I just only lower the clock speed in 192MHz, I don't think this is the reason, can anyone tell me the reason please ?

That might be the reason. Too much underclock there.

nope. i use 192 MHz as the lowest too. might be the governor.

Different devices handle it differently.

underclock to 192 and undervolt too ?
as k900 said it might be the reason, try with different governor...and try with less underclock and see if it shutdown

Why cant overclock up to 760 my o1?
I tried all the roms, all the kernels, but nothing.
I've heard about some guy, who can overclock up to 800.
What can i make?
(Sorry for my bad english)
Sorry, but you can't do nothing. It's related to hardware.

What is the diffrence in hardwer, isn't all optimus the same? :S
not all phones are created equal... some cant oc past 700mhz... some can get up to 800mhz. yours is one of the average ones that tops out around 750mhz. nothing you can do about it.
Ok, thanks anyway. And what is tje best overclocking steps? What to set to max, and what to min? Before it i puted all to 768 mhz :s

Set min to 480 for better battery....and set max whatever you want! (fair suggestion 729)

I tried a lot of kernel but in every i can Overclock only to 780
780 is already an excellent speed of our p500.I had overclocked to 748, but the motherboard burned the next day......

Xperia mini pro overclocking information

I want to know what's the safe overclocking maximum and governor . I also want to know what's the maximum safe temperature? Is 50c' as a maximum safe? Thanks for your help.

theres no such tthing as safe oc.
each and every cpu had different characteristic thus different capability when it comes to oc. what might works with others might just hardbrick yours. you just need to experiment yourself. do note thats its dangerous. earlier one guy already fried his phone when oc to 1.8ghz+playing gta3.
and for me personally 45c feels too hot already.

I know what you mean. You are right of course. Mine is overclocked to 1.3ghz governor smartassV2 and the max temp for overclocking is my problem now. I can't decide what is the max temp at which the phone should go back to 1ghz . Do you think 45c' as a maximum safe?

then use any app that can create profile to automatically lower cpu freq based on temperature eg cputuner or setcpu.

I'm already using CPU master pro . I created a profile for overheating but I don't know what is the maximum temperature that I should use?

I'd say 45° MAX. Or even less. And still you can't be 100% sure you won't have any problem.

And if the speed goes down does it means that voltage goes down as well?
Since i have rooted my sg3 and instal custom room and got setcpu i have set some profiles but seems like my battery drain a way quicker then when it was unrooted. Any advise please

You will need a kernel that supports Undervolting and then you can do it in SETCPU
i suggest Siyah's kernel. im OC'd to 1.6mhz and UV'd at -100mV. my phone is stable

No, only users can wreck a phone
Overclocking your S3 above 1800mhz will SURELY damage your hardware, the most stable and recommended clock speed when overclocked is 1600mhz,1800mhz and above are highly experimental.

1,8Ghz should be possible i guess. The Note2 has the same cpu and is standard clocked to 1,6 Ghz.

Not true, i`am using Voltage Control Extreme right now and set the max clockspeed to 1 Ghz on a stock kernel in ARHD 9.5.0 and saved these settings as init.d script at boot and it works, even after reboots it`s still 1 Ghz.

and my last question will be if its normal that phone doesn't use same cpu speed all the time.it changes speed under different conditions.i guess it would be wastage of battery for example run phone on 1.4 ghz on locked screen

A friend of mine downloaded SetCPu. She did something and now the phone is just dead. No screen, no vibration. Heck it doesnt even go in recovery. Either the battery is totally dead or we have a very expensive paper weight here.

Maybe, she overclocked CPU too much for long time and burn out the CPU... in which case only solution is replace motherboard

It's normal. If you're on the faux's intellidemand governor, it changes the frequency based on the load you have on the phone. It does this to save the battery. I highly recommend you to leave it as is, because if you lock it at a high frequency when the phone is not being used, it can drain the battery like crazy.

Oh...but it often work on 1.51Ghz..it is too hot when i watch the video,so i wanna to decrease the frequency..
could u recommend a kernel please?thanks for ur answer!

Stock value for 300mhz.

As far I know the current value for 300mhz is 755mVolts but mine is 750mVolts at default.
Is anybody got the same value with me?.
It varies around 750mv due to AVS

Auto voltage scaling
AVS
Meaning if your not doing too much your cpu will undervolt a tiny bit for each frequency, or overvolt for higher load
Its completly normal
Default is 775 for me, but I've undervolted to 679 (-96) and perfectly stable going for - 108 now

Wow. I've never ventured this low on an 801 device. How low are you on the rest of the scale? I'm assuming only so low on the bottom frequency because it's basically just idle. Man, you must last forever in standby! :good:

I think most people can get it. I'm UC to 1.497 Ghz to get that value... For 2.265 Ghz or 2.457 Ghz I just stable at -60 mv ..
I'm - 108 on all frequencies
