[Q] reassign buttons with future roms? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys.
just pre-ordered my sIII. i'm a little disappointed that it has a menu button instead of a dedicated multi-task button. anybody know if we can reassign those buttons? do any roms support this? i'm surprised i haven't seen anybody mentioning this drawback on the sIII on the forums... unless i missed a thread or something. just under a month until i get it... can't wait!
thx

I agree, I'm suprised Samsung wont let us customize the stock rom more.
I'm used to having the menu button in the middle but, correct me if Im wrong, I dont think it can be moved.

DialPad replacement ?

I am using a replacement for the dialpad screen called contactbreeze by www.sbsh.net. It's outstanding!
How can I softcode the big green dialpad button to make use of the replacement dialpad?
Check this out... haven't tried it myself so let us know if it works

I saw that and installed it. It does let you map an application or even a command line statement (among other things) to all the buttons including the big green/red call buttons. Since contact breeze though is simply an extension of pocket breeze, I haven't quite yet figured out how to call it? Has anyone yet figured this out?
Hey guys, wrong forum for this topic. You might have better luck in the General sub-forum, since this is aparently a discussion of a WM5 specific nature.
Now go have fun!

[Q] The Keybaord - Can it be made...

Hi I tired to locate information on this topic first, if I missed it... Dang nab it. Please link me to it, and go easy on my NOOB self.
I just downloaded Pandora the older version from last year I think I read. It will fire up, however at the sign up stage/enter any text point... CRAP! No freaking keyboard option to use my lovely keyboard.
Can I make show the keyboard launch icon over this and or all applications? I do have a Reg Tweaker, and am not afraid to break... err... use it.
And, with this being me first post...
A HUGE THANKS FOR ALL OF THE AWESOME PEEPS who make this forum possible, and everyone else. You made my experience with my Leo outstanding! I never imagined having such a great time on a phone before. LMAO!
OK, my spazzing is over now... I am returning to my more sedate state again...
Dang it... I told people I am a NOOB... Better get a mov'n.
Don''t tell me a little ole noob like me pwnd you with this question.
When my keyboard doesn't pop up & the icon is missing, I just press where the icon should be & normally the keyboard still pops up. Try that.
Doh, it didn't work for me.
Hi, and thanks for the tip.
I tried it and that didn't work in my case.
Now what?

[Request] Mod Power button/Camera button

Hi all,
I've been looking around here and there for something like this for the past few months and still haven't found anything relevant about it.
The idea would be to use the power button as the camera button while the native camera app is launched to take snapshots on Jelly Bean official but rooted stock firmware.
Found a thread but sadly has been discontinued for some reason, here's the link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787709&nocache=1
So Anyways, was just wondering if a kind soul would either know how to code this or figure out if there's anything out there remotely close to what I'm asking for. Also, note that the "button switcher" app doesn't seem to work for that purpose, already gave it a go...
Thanks for your time and hope u guys had a good Xmas and will have an even better NYE.
up'
anybody ? Am actually quite surprised that no one is currently looking into this.
I know the feature is available on different Roms but would be ace if one could have it on sammy's stock Rom.
Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to wait & see.

[Q] People Interested in Taking my Ideas and Making them Happen

Hello,
This is my 1st post, congratulations I guess. I can't wait to help others in their quest to know more than the Phone Operators! For instance on the LG G3 at least, and the SGS3, if you long hold the home button, Google Now search displays. Now onto my main post...I have some ideas for mods but I do not have the time to master them myself, so Im looking for someone who can make my ideas come to fruition...anyone interested?

[Q] Will Capacitive Buttons change on all devices? Android "L"

So yesterday a leaked photo of Sense 7 came out. It said it was not finished and really who even knows if its real? Still, I cant help but wonder, will they be changing the capacitive buttons on all devices. I know some cant but for us htc M8 guys, its all digi... So I cant imagine its to hard to do. For me, the look is apart of the package. I was looking forward to the new Lollipop look including the cap buttons. Now I am thinking they might not change them in sense.
Any thoughts, info? Any one else really care or see anything about this. I cannot imagine I am the only android guy that cares about small details... If so, we wouldn't have androids right?
Thanks in advance for any response....
Chris
